Restoration of the isotopic composition of reprocessed uranium hexafluoride using cascade with additional product

  • In reprocessed uranium, derived from an impoverished fuel of light-water moderated reactors, there are isotopes of 232, 234, 236U, which make its recycling remarkably difficult. A method of concentration of 235U target isotope in cascade's additional product was proposed to recover the isotopic composition of reprocessed uranium. A general calculation procedure is presented and a parameters' optimization of multi-flow cascades with additional products. For the first time a numeric model of a cascade that uses the cuts of partial flows of stages with relatively high separation factors was applied in this procedure. A novel computing experiment is carried out on separation of reprocessed uranium hexafluoride with providing a high concentration of 235U in cascade's additional product with subsequent dilution. The parameters of cascades' stages are determined so as to allow reducing the 232, 234, 236U isotope content up to the acceptable. It was demonstrated that the dilution of selected products by the natural waste makes it possible to receive a low enriched uranium hexafluoride that meets the ASTM C996-15 specification for commercial grade.

  • Companies are making design changes by improving product quality and function to succeed while meeting customer requirements continuously. Design changes are changing the product BOM's amount, item, specification, and shape while causing a change in the product's structure. At this time, the problem of inventory exhaustion of parts before design change is a big topic. If the inventory exhaustion fails, the pieces before the design change become unused and are discarded, resulting in a decrease in asset value, and the quality cost of the design change affects the company's profits. Therefore, it is necessary to decide to minimize quality costs while minimizing waste inventory costs at the time of application of design changes. According to the analysis, priorities should be prioritized according to urgency because the quantity of items before the design change affects the applied lead time.

  • The statistical approach to quality control aims at alerting its user to any variations in the properties of a manufactured product. Motorola developed and pursued a quality management program called six sigma. The goal of six sigma programs is to improve customer satisfaction through reducing and eliminating defects. six sigma uses several statistical measure to characterize defect levels and process capabilities. The upper and lower specification limits are $\pm6\sigma$(sigma) from nominal, and the process mean is centered at nominal. only 0.002PPM are outside specification limits. Cp=2. this is the design target in a six sigma program. This article presents an important tool available for quality control of a production process at the occurrence of defects in manufactured products at view low levels to improve the efficiency of the manufacturing productivity and to satisfy customer through the reduction of defect rates. To understand the consequences of the level of quality on competitive position, a more technical perspective is needed.

  • BLUs(Backlight Units) are major component in LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) industry which occupies 90% or more of worldwide FPD(Flat Panel Display) market. And BLU market is expected to be expanded continuously according to the trend of miniaturization, slimness, low power consumption and low weight. The larger the BLU market scale, the more important standardization of performance evaluation techniques to clearly prescribe the product specification.   • The purpose of this study is to develop a theoretical model identifying how consumers accept a fashionable technology product. A systematic review of 39 influential TAM studies focusing on theory development in the context of information technology results in three tendencies, which become backbone of the model of fashionable technology acceptance. A subsequent review of the nature of fashion fleshes out the backbone with detailed propositions in the more specific context of fashionable technology. The model of fashionable technology acceptance includes key propositions of Theory of Reasoned Action, in which internal beliefs consist of functional, aesthetic and symbolic values, and other factors, such as technology features (i.e., hardware specification, software specification, brand, and price factors), environmental conditions (i.e., technical infrastructure and user occasion), individual differences (i.e., age, gender, experience, personality, aesthetic sense, fashion innovativeness, and income), and social influence (i.e., subjective norms, social reputation, and cultural difference). Implications, limitations, and suggestions for future research are also discussed.

국내 유통 금속제 주방기구 중 납 및 안티몬 모니터링 (Monitoring of Lead and Antimony in Metallic Kitchenware)

  • 본 연구는 국내 유통 중인 프라이팬, 냄비, 주전자, 불판 등 금속제 주방기구 총 71품목을 대상으로 안전성 및 오염 정도에 대한 기초 자료를 제공하고자 실시되었다. 현행 식품공전 금속제의 재질 규격은 Pb 10%, Sb 5%이하이며 용출 규격은 Pb 1.0 mg/L이하이다. 알루미늄, 스테인리스 및 주철 총 71품목의 금속제 주방기구에 대한 재질시험 결과 Pb은 0.06% 이하로 검출되었으나 기준이하였으며 Sb은 모든 제품에서 검출되지 않았다. 또한 이들 주방기구의 용출시험 결과에서도 기준치이하인 0.41mg/L의 Pb이 검출되어 국내 유통 중인 금속제 주방기구는 기준규격에 적합한 것으로 나타났다.

  • $SF_6$가스는 지구 온난화 가스로 알려져 있다. $SF_6$가스의 지구온난화 기능은 이산화탄소에 비하여 22,000배 이다. $SF_6$가스 회수기술은 환경 및 경제적 측면에서 주요한 기술이다. 본 연구에서는 $SF_6$가스를 현장에서 용이하게 회수할 수 있는 여러 공정들로서 액화공정, 결정화 공정, 증류 공정에 대하여 연구하였다. 이들 공정들을 Aspen plus를 이용하여 공정 모사 및 최적화를 행하였다. 제품의 규격과 회수율을 만족하면서 에너지 소모량을 최소화하도록 최적화 문제를 구성하였다. 이 최적화 결과들을 바탕으로 공정성능들을 비교하였다. 각 공정변수들이 공정 성능에 미치는 영향을 조사하였고, 제품의 순도와 회수율의 변화에 따른 최적 조업조건의 변화를 살펴보았다.

3차원 CAD 시스템을 이용한 설계환경 구축 및 설계자동화에 대한 연구 (A Study on Construction of Design Environment and Design Automation Using 3D CAD System)

  • In order to survive worldwide competition, today's industries are experiencing strong pressure to introduce higher quality products with lower cost and shorter lead-time. Therefore, the role of design in the process of product development is increasing in significance. In this research, two methods for improving the design capability are proposed: construction of design environment and design automation using 3D CAD system. The designers and design process are the core of product design using 3D CAD system. In order to maximize the design performance, construction of the design environment including selection of a suitable system, designer training for best use of the system, establishment of an efficient design process, and stabilization of the environment are required. A method is suggested to construct design environment by systematizing the contents of the projects and consulting experiences carried out for various categories of business such as electronic devices, motorcycles, electricity parts, sanitary wares, injection molds, and die casing molds. Design automation helps reduce tedious and time-consuming jobs, simplify complicated and error-prone modeling and drawing works to shorten the lead time and improve the product quality. To develop a design automation system, understanding the process and the related knowledge on design are very important before implementing the system using API provided by 3D CAD system. In this research, an eight-step procedure is proposed for the development of a design automation system. These eight steps are analysis of needs, determination of specification, verification of specification using 3D CAD system, inspection of related API functions, programming, field test, application in practice, and maintenance. A case study in which five design automation systems in the design of turbine generators using the proposed method is introduced in detail. These systems play important roles in the generation of various output items including 3D models, drafts, material information, and NC data. The case study shows how effectively the design time is reduced and the quality improved using those systems.

  • 제품라인공학 기반의 융합소프트웨어 개발 방법론에서는 어플리케이션 개발을 위해 아키텍처 모델을 제안하고 있다. 그리고 명세를 이용하여 제어컴포넌트를 개발하도록 제안하는데 워크플로우는 트랜잭션을 주로 처리하는 어플리케이션 개발을 위해 제안되었다. 제품라인 공학 기반의 소프트웨어 개발이 효과를 발휘하기 위해서는 도구의 지원이 반드시 필요하다. 하지만 기존의 워크플로우 모델링 도구들은 제품라인 공학개념을 지원하지 않기 때문에 워크플로우 기반의 제품라인 소프트웨어 개발을 지원할 수 있는 도구의 개발이 필요했다. 본 논문에서는 워크플로우 기반의 제품라인 소프트웨어 개발을 지원하기 위해서 개발된 도구를 소개하고 개발된 도구의 활용 가능성을 확인하기 위해서 간단한 활용예제를 소개한다.
