A Study on the Measurement and Improvement of Service Quality using QFD in the Internet Shoppingmall (QFD를 이용한 인터넷 쇼핑몰의 서비스 품질 측정 및 개선에 관한 연구)

  • By the developing of Internet. the environments of the company have rapidly been changed. Especially. managers in the Internet shoppingmall have been try to provide excellent e-Services to their customers. e-Service i~ defined comprised of all interactive services that are delivered on the Internet uSing advanced telecommunications. information, and multimedia technologies. but according to study of e-Satisfy. com[2000]. customer service through internet is still neither effective nor efficient and poor service will impact on company's profit but excellent service can improve their value and quality of the service or product. In order to customer-oriented e-Services. this study suggested the QFD linked with e-Service quality model for the Internet shoppingmall service system. which can help determine design characteristics being relevant to customer's e-Service quality requirements. this hybrid model have two stages. In the first stage. we do measure service quality and find priorities of service quality attribute by purchase process. and in the second stage. on the basis of priority of e-Service quality attributes, we find design characteristics to maximize customer satisfaction. From this study, we provide internet shoppingmall managers with the implications for improvement of service quality, measuring quality of e-service, providing design characteristics for customer-oriented service quality.

  • The scale of e-procurement through online shopping malls of public institutions including government comprehensive shopping malls is increasing day by day. This study aims to examine how public officials evaluate products, delivery, and post service of online shopping malls for public institutions and to explore ways of improving their satisfaction. The results from a survey conducted among public officials of public institutions who have experience using online shopping malls of public institutions showed generally high satisfaction levels, although there was dissatisfaction with product diversity. Perception of delivery quality was generally positive, but there was room for improvement in delivery service. Furthermore, employing structural equation modeling, the study examined the influences on satisfaction and intention to reuse. Perceived product quality, delivery quality, and delivery service quality were confirmed to influence satisfaction considerably. Therefore, more efforts should be directed towards managing the information and quality of products to prevent returns, exchanges, and repairs and, in case of issues, handling them promptly and transparently.

  • Purpose: This study proposes the application of Six Sigma management innovation method for more systematically enhanced execution of Quality by Design (QbD) activities. QbD requires a deeper understanding of the product and process at the design and development stage of the drug, and it is very important to ensure that no fault is fundamentally generated through thorough process control. Methods: Analyzing the background and specific procedures of quality improvement based on the drug design basis, and analyzing the key contents of each step, we have differentated and common points from the 6 Sigma methodology. We propose a new model of Six Sigma management innovation method suitable for pharmaceutical industry. Results: Regulatory agencies are demanding results from statistical analysis as a scientific basis in developing medicines to treat human life through quality improvement activities based on drug design. By utilizing the education system to improve the statistical analysis capacity in the Six Sigma activities and operating the 6 Sigma Belt system in conjunction, it helped systematically strengthen the execution power of quality improvement activities based on pharmaceutical design based on the members of the pharmaceutical industry. Conclusion: By using QbD Six Sigma, which combines quality enhancement based on pharmaceutical design basis and Six Sigma methodology suitable for pharmaceutical industry, it is possible to obtain satisfactory results both by pharmaceutical companies and regulators by using appropriate statistical analysis methods for preparing scientific evidence data required by regulatory.

  • Better quality software can be made by eliminating the software product risk in the early stages. To achieve this task, a risk analysis system that can effectively track and manage risks that have severe effects on software quality is needed. The existing risk analysis systems have some weaknesses as they are applied to organizations. The major problems of those systems are that they require organizations to collect as much risk data at a time without providing a proper explanation and even without the support of a risk management process. This paper resolves those problems by developing a risk analysis system that offers methods of managing risks. In addition, the system provides the guidelines of which risks should be gathered for each step. The system also has functions to generate a range of strategy and analysis information on risks.

  • In the field of user interface design for interactive product, it is becoming more important than ever to understand emotional quality and its characteristics. By a series of experiments on emotional quality of user interface, this paper aimed to develope a systematic approach to investigating emotional quality. First, a emotional quality framework that consists of 6 dimensions (Usefulness, Easy of Use, Aesthetics, Stimulation, Identification, and Harmony) and 18 elements was developed through two experiments that users and UI expert participated in. Second, by conducting a user survey based on the emotional quality framework, it was illustrated how various emotional qualities of interactive product can be evaluated and what effects they have on overall satisfaction of the product. Finally, this paper analyzed the relative importance of emotional quality dimensions and the contextual factors that change emotional quality, and provided basic knowledge related to the construction of emotional quality for the succeeding studies.

  • Quality is a critical competitive factor in today's environment because of the impact of quality on market share, productivity and costs. Especially in Korean companies, the importance of quality is heightened as they are losing price competitiveness compared to the new industrialized countries. The traditional approach to quality improvement has been focused on workers. The primary means to achieving acceptable outgoing quality has been to inspect quality by adding more inspectors and inspection stations. This is an example of quality cost that can be reduced through the preventive actions against bad quality. Quality cost is best viewed as a measure of costs specifically associated with the achievement or nonachievement of product/service quality required by customers. This paper examines the concept of quality cost, provides guidance to implementing a quality cost system, and identifies the limitations of quality cost information. These limitations are the target for future research for an efficient and effective implementation of quality cost system.

  • Today's product development requires simultaneous satisfaction of low cost, high quality and fast time to market. It is, however, difficult for product designers and engineers to achieve this goal due to too many requirements. This study shows integrated Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) approach can help to achieve such goal. CAE can not only support designers when decision needs to be made during concept design period but also provide evaluation of the designed parts and guidance to the best design of products during detail design period. Furthermore, integration with virtual prototyping concept can reduce number of actual prototyping and consequently reduce product development cost and time considerably. In order to demonstrate its possibility, example of washing machine development using CAE and its results are presented in this study.

  • In recent years, dramatic advances in information technology have motivated the construction industry to improve its productivity. Computer-based information technology includes Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Digital Mock-Up (DMU) and Product Data Management (PDM). Most construction industries are trying to apply these technologies for quality improvement, reduction of construction time and cost. PDM is very useful for managing data and process related to product design and manufacturing. PDM system has various functions such as drawing and engineering document management, product structure and structure modification management, part classification management, workflow management, and project management. In this paper, PDM system was applied to the design of steel-concrete composite girder bridge. To make a practical guidance for PDM implementation to bridge design, the procedure for its implementation was presented. Consequently, this paper could be useful to enhance the efficiency of bridge design.

  • Emerging three-dimensional television (3DTV) as a new IT product shows a possibility that television is not for just watching broadcasting, but an attractive tool for applying it to our real life. Three dimensional television is generally more effective and attractive than two-dimensional television (2DTV). But it still needs continuous technological improvement to solve its inherent limitations until many customers decide to purchase 3DTVs without hesitation. Innovative products like 3DTV encounter a quality problem leading purchase decision by customers. Quality is regarded as one of the most important factors affecting customers to adopt and use the product. Furthermore, measuring quality effectively is considerable for the 3DTV research. In this paper, we suggest the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) method for evaluating 3DTVs in a view of quality. We describe quality criteria affecting the 3DTV selection through a literature survey and develope an analytical method for measuring quality. We classify the quality of 3DTV into four types and suggest a concept of the quality ratio as a measurement criteria instead of the quality gap. Though a numerical example, we show how priorities of 3DTV with versatile manufacturers is computed.
