Li-air batteries have a promising future for because of their high energy density, which could theoretically be equal to that of gasoline. However, substantial Li-air cell performance limitations exist, which are related to the air cathode. The cell discharge products are deposited on the surfaces of the porous carbon materials in the air electrode, which blocks oxygen from diffusing to the reaction sites. Hence, the real capacity of a Li-air battery is determined by the carbon air electrode, especially by the pore volume available for the deposition of the discharged products. In this study, a simple and fast method is reported for the large-scale synthesis of carbon nanoballs (CNBs) consisting of a highly mesoporous structure for Li-air battery cathodes. The CNBs were synthesized by the solution plasma process from benzene solution, without the need for a graphite electrode for carbon growth. The CNBs so formed were then annealed to improve their electrical conductivity. Structural characterization revealed that the CNBs exhibited both an pore structure and high conductivity.

Tin dioxide nanoparticles are prepared using a newly developed synthesis method of plasma-assisted electrolysis. A high voltage is applied to the tin metal plate to apply a high pressure and temperature to the synthesized oxide layer on the metal surface, producing nanoparticles in a low concentration of sulfuric acid. The particle size, morphology, and size distribution is controlled by the concentration of electrolytes and frequency of the power supply. The as-prepared powder of tin dioxide nanoparticles is used to fabricate a gas sensor to investigate the potential application. The particle-based gas sensor exhibits a short response and recovery time. There is sensitivity to the reduction gas for the gas flowing at rates of 50, 250, and 500 ppm of $H_2S$ gas.

In this study, we developed plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) process for aluminum 7075 alloy to improve the corrosion and mechanical properties. The electrolyte consists of potassium hydroxide and sodium silicate. Additionally, sodium stannate was added into the electrolyte to investigate its effect on PEO film formation. Titanium was used as the counter electrode. Plasma generation voltage reduced from 300V to 150 V by adding 4 g/L of sodium stannate. The thin oxide films were observed by SEM(Scanning Electron Microscopy)/EDS (Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy) for quantitative and qualitative analyses. XRD (X-ray diffraction) and XRF (X-ray Fluorescences) analyses were also carried out to identify oxide layer on aluminum 7075 surface. Vicker's hardness test was performed on the PEO-treated aluminum 7075 surface.
Interpenetrating phase composites of $TiB_2$-Cu system were produced via Spark-Plasma Sintering (SPS) oi nanocomposite powders. Under simultaneous action of pressure, temperature and electric current titanium diboride nanoparticles distributed in copper matrix move, agglomerate and form a fine-grained skeleton. Increasing SPS-temperature and he]ding time promote densification due to local melting of copper matrix When copper melting is avoided the compacts contain 17-20% porosity but titanium diboride skeleton is still formed representing the feature of SPS . High degree of densification and formation of titanium diboride network result in increased hardness of high-temperature SPS-compacts.

In the present study, ultrafined Zr-V-Fe based alloy powder prepared by a plasma arc discharge process with changing process parameters. The chemical composition of synthesized powder was strongly influenced by the process parameters, especially the hydrogen volume fraction in the powder synthesis atmosphere. The synthesized powder had an average particle size of 50 nm. The synthesized Zr-V-Fe based particles had a shell-core structure composed of metal in the core and oxidse in the shell.
Recently, as the concept of pet food that satisfies both nutritional needs and the five senses has evolved, so too has the demand for effective pet food non-thermal sterilization methods. Prominent non-thermal technologies include high-pressure processing, plasma, and radiation, which are favored for their ability to preserve nutrients, avoid residues, and minimize compositional changes, thereby maintaining quality and sensory properties. However, to assess their effectiveness on pet food, it is essential to optimize operational parameters such as pressure levels, plasma intensity, radiation dosage, and temperature. Further studies are needed to evaluate microbial sterilization efficacy and sensory attributes. This exploration is expected to lay the groundwork for preventing zoonotic diseases and improving the production of high-quality pet food.
Plasma spray forming is recently explored as a near-net-shape fabrication route for ultra-high temperature metals and ceramics. In this study, monolithic tungsten has been produced using an atmospheric plasma spray forming and subsequent high temperature sintering. The spray-formed tungsten preform from different processing parameters has been evaluated in terms of metallurgical aspects, such as density, oxygen content and hardness. A well-defined lamellae structure was formed in the as-sprayed deposit by spreading of completely molten droplets, with incorporating small amounts of unmelted/partially-melted particles. Plasma sprayed tungsten deposit had 84-87% theoretical density and 0.2-0.3 wt.% oxygen content. Subsequent sintering at 2500$^{\circ}C$ promoted the formation of equiaxed grain structure and the production of dense preform up to 98% theoretical density.

The RF inductive discharge of inductively couples plasma (ICP) continues to attract growing attention as an effective plasma source in many industrial applications, the best known of which are plasma processing and lighting technology. Although most practical ICPs operate at 13.56 [MHz] and 2.65 [MHz], the trend to reduce the operating frequency is clearly recognizable from recent ICP developments. In an electrodeless fluorescent lamp, the use of a lower operating frequency simplifies and reduces cost of RF matching systems and RF generators and can eliminate capacitive coupling between the inductor coil and plasma, which could be a strong factor in wall erosion and plasma contamination. In this study, We discussed simulation and experimental results when changing ferrite position in antenna.
A large-area (830mm ${\times}$ 1,020mm) inductively coupled plasma source with a six internal straight antennas was developed for large area FPD etch process applications and the effects of magnetic fields employing permanent magnets on the plasma characteristics were investigated. By employing the magnetic fields perpendicular to the six straight antenna currents using permanent magnets, improved plasma characteristics such as increase of the ion density and decrease of both electron temperature and plasma potential could be achieved in addition to the stability of the plasma possibly due to the reduction of the electron loss. However, the application of the magnetic field decreased the plasma uniformity slightly even though the uniformity within 10% could be maintained in the 800mm processing area.

Diagnostics of plasma density is a key factor for monitoring plasma processing. Various probes are invented to measure plasma density and cut-off probe is a one of the most promising diagnostics tool for measuring plasma density. However, at the low density or high pressure the cut-off probe cannot clearly resolve the cut-off peak. Several reasons make this problem: Cut-off likes peaks caused by cavity resonances and weaken transmission spectrum signal at high pressure. Recently, You et al., have researched mechanism of cut-off probe and we improve the cut-off reliability and sensitivity base on that research. Modified cut-off antenna is adapted and bias cut-off probe method is tried. These experiment results have good agreement with the previous study and show good measurement characteristics.
