심층학습 기반 표정인식을 통한 학습 평가 보조 방법 연구 (Method of an Assistance for Evaluation of Learning using Expression Recognition based on Deep Learning)

  • This paper proposes the approaches to the evaluation of learning using concepts of artificial intelligence. Among various techniques, deep learning algorithm is employed to achieve quantitative results of evaluation. In particular, this paper focuses on the process-based evaluation instead of the result-based one using face expression. The expression is simply acquired by digital camera that records face expression when students solve sample test problems. Face expressions are trained using convolutional neural network (CNN) model followed by classification of expression data into three categories, i.e., easy, neutral, difficult. To substantiate the proposed approach, the simulation results show promising results, and this work is expected to open opportunities for intelligent evaluation system in the future.

웹 기반 학습을 위한 평가 시스템의 설계 및 구현 (A Design and Implementation of Evaluation System for Web-Based Instruction)

  • 인터넷 기술의 발달로 인하여 웹 기반 학습이 증가추세에 있다. 웹 환경에서 학습도 전통적인 학습과 마찬가지로 학습 내용과 더불어 학습한 과정이나 결과에 대한 평가도 포함되어야 진정한 교육의 과정(Process)이 완성된다고 할 수 있다. 현재까지 웹 기반 학습의 평가는 학습의 결과나 지식 이해 위주의 평가가 주를 이루고 있으며 평가 결과에 대한 적절한 피드백이 제공되지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 학습자가 웹 기반 학습을 하는 과정에 평가를 할 수 있도록 하였으며 즉각적인 피드백의 제공으로 학습자가 자기주도적인 학습을 해 나가는데 도움을 주도록 하였다. 즉, 교사가 작성한 문제를 문제은행화하여 데이타베이스에 저장하고 주제어, 학년, 학기, 단원별 검색이 가능하도록 하였으며 각 문제마다 정답과 오답에 대한 피드백을 줄 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 학습자는 학습을 해 나가면서 문제를 풀고 즉각적인 피드백을 제공받음으로써 문제 해결에 도움을 주며 학습의 동기를 유발하여 웹을 통한 교수 학습의 질을 향상시킬 수 있는 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다.

Comprehensive evaluation of cleaner production in thermal power plants based on an improved least squares support vector machine model

  • In order to alleviate the environmental pressure caused by production process of thermal power plants, the application of cleaner production is imperative. To estimate the implementation effects of cleaner production in thermal plants and optimize the strategy duly, it is of great significance to take a comprehensive evaluation for sustainable development. In this paper, a hybrid model that integrated the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) with least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) algorithm optimized by grid search (GS) algorithm is proposed. Based on the establishment of the evaluation index system, AHP is employed to pre-process the data and GS is introduced to optimize the parameters in LSSVM, which can avoid the randomness and inaccuracy of parameters' setting. The results demonstrate that the combined model is able to be employed in the comprehensive evaluation of the cleaner production in the thermal power plants.

Deriving an Overall Evaluation Index with Multiple CTQs in Six Sigma Management

  • Evaluation indices for products or services are important to improve the internal process of the company and to compare those with competitive ones. The sigma level in Six Sigma management does important role to evaluate the core characteristic, CTQ(Critical To Quality), derived in the considered product/service or process. In this research, we propose an overall evaluation index for the product/service or process with multiple characteristics, in other words, multiple CTQs. The proposed overall evaluation index is useful for the cases that the single CTQ is not enough to evaluate the practical interests, for example, the final products and services with complex procedures and relatively large scaled processes. This approach is discussed with sigma level for applying Six Sigma Projects, however, it is applicable to indices based on proportion or percentage as well. The practical examples with a manufacturing process and a customer survey based on focus group interview are given for illustrations.

AHP를 이용한 프로젝트 선정에 관한 실증적 연구 (An Study on Project Selection based on Analytic Hierarchy Process)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the applicability of AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) to select more productive projects among various proposed projects in a particular company. To achieve this research objective, the characteristics of project evaluation and selection are first reviewed with respect to when, where, and how the decision is made. Then the theoretical basis of the AHP is briefly reviewed along with its mathematical underpinnings to construct the framework of project evaluation and selection. To be more specific, the evaluation and selection criteria were reorganized in the AHP-based framework to make the process of project evaluation and selection more productive. Project evaluation and selection is one of the most important activities for the most companies to be more advantageous in the market. Despite the importance of decision making process of project selection, not many of how to choose the best project were suggested as the reliable project selection methods in the industries. It may be because it involves various activities related to conflict resolution among different evaluation criteria, high uncertainties of market, and the unclear tradeoff among various project objectives. Furthermore, the decision, once made at this point, tends to be irrevocable until the whole process turns out to be a complete success or failure. As the result, the AHP method showed better financial performance rather than the traditional method in a case study.

건강증진을 위한 지역사회 기반 참여연구의 적용 방안 (Using Community-Based Participatory Research(CBPR) for Health Promotion)

  • Community-Based Participatory Research(CBPR) has gained attention as a public health approach to develop community health interventions to address health disparities in recognition of the community relevance of specific health issues associated with social determinants of health. It emphasizes community involvement in equal partnership with researchers and public health professionals to address community-identified needs. The characteristics and principles of CBPR discussed in this paper highlight participatory nature, capacity development, partnership building, and process-orientation of CBPR. A 6-step process model for community empowerment is then introduced as a CBPR operationalization strategy. Mixed methods research approaches are valuable in CBPR as well as process evaluation. For the application of CBPR in Korean contexts, the Diffusion of Innovation theory is suggested as a theoretical framework for implementation. Building public health partnerships between public and private sectors to create partnership synergy is a necessary condition for successful CBPR for health promotion in Korea. Accompanying critical factors for the CBPR application include: common understanding of CBPR and its values, establishment of the definition of 'community,' 'community-based' and 'participation' in community health, development of accommodating research infrastructure for CBPR, recognition of the importance of program evaluation (particularly process evaluation), and training CBPR specialists.

역량바탕의학교육을 촉진하기 위한 교육평가: 통합평가모형 적용 (Adapting an Integrated Program Evaluation for Promoting Competency-Based Medical Education)

  • Educational program evaluation can improve the quality of the curriculum, instructional methods, and resources and provide useful data for making educational decisions and policies. Developing and implementing a program evaluation system is essential in competency-based medical education. The purpose of this study was to explore and establish an educational program evaluation system adapting an integrated program evaluation model to promote competency-based medical education. First, an Educational Evaluation Committee was organized, consisting of faculty, staff members, and students. The committee established an integrated program evaluation model, combining Stufflebeam's Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) model of a process-oriented approach and Kirkpatrick's four-level model of an outcome-oriented approach. Kirkpatrick's model was applied to the product evaluation of the CIPP model. The committee then developed evaluation criteria, indicators, and data collection methods according to the components of the CIPP model and the four levels (reaction, learning, behavior, and results) of Kirkpatrick's model, and collected and analyzed data. Finally, the committee reported the results of evaluation to a Medical Education Quality Improvement Committee, and the results were used to improve the curriculum and student selection. To enhance the quality of education, identifying educational deficiencies and developing various elements of education in a balanced way through educational evaluation will be needed. Furthermore, it will be necessary to listen to opinions of various stakeholders, work with all members involved in education, and communicate with decision-makers in the process of educational evaluation.

연구학교 보고서에 나타난 중학교 과학과 과정중심평가의 특징 (Characteristics of Process-Focused Assessment in Science Classes from the Research Middle School Reports)

  • 이 연구에서는 과정중심평가의 특징이 중학교 과학 교육 현장에서는 어떻게 구현되고 있는지를 살펴보기 위해 연구학교 보고서를 분석하였다. 과정중심평가 운영 지표 또는 진단 도구를 제시한 6개의 선행연구 분석을 통해서 과정중심평가의 특징에 대한 분석 관점(수업과 평가의 통합, 평가 요소와 평가 방법, 피드백 내용과 시기, 학습자의 성장 관리)을 추출하였다. 그 분석틀을 이용하여 교육부 및 시·도 교육청 주관으로 운영한 7개 중학교의 과정중심평가 연구학교 결과 보고서를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 수업과 평가의 통합 측면에서는 과정중심평가를 운영할 때 교육과정의 성취기준에 기반하여 수업과 평가 계획이 잘 구현되고 있었으며, 모든 보고서에서는 과정중심평가를 수행평가로 인식하고 있었다. 평가 요소와 평가 방법 측면에서는 지식에 대한 평가 요소가 주를 이루고 있고, 역량을 계획 단계에서는 제시하고 있으나 수업 실행에서는 다루지 않는 경우가 많았다. 그리고 평가 방법은 교사 중심의 관찰 평가와 보고서 평가에 치우쳐져 있고, 각 평가 요소에 대해 채점 기준의 설정이 미흡했다. 피드백 내용과 시기 측면에서 피드백은 주로 성취도 확인 측면에서 제공하였으며 학습과정에서 부족한 부분에 대한 비계를 적절한 시기에 제공한 사례는 찾지 못하였다. 학습자의 성장 관리 측면에서 과학 수업을 통해 함양된 역량은 생활기록부의 과목별 세부 특기사항에 기재하는 형태로 관리하고 있었으며, 학습자의 역량 성장 과정을 체계적으로 관리하고 평가의 결과를 교사의 수업 개선에 반영하는 내용은 보고서에 거의 나타나지 않았다.

프로토타입 이론을 적용한 계층적 이미지 계측시스템 (A Study on Image Evaluation System based on Prototype Theory)

  • 인상이나 감성적 기호가 구매에 영향을 주는 제품군의 디과인에 있어서는 사용자 시점으로부터의 감성적 평가를 디자인 프로세스의 보다 상류단계에서부터 실시하여 그 결과를 아이디어 스케치 개량을 위한 유효한 정보로서 피드백시킬 필요가 있다. 한편 감성적 평가에 있어서, SD법(의미미분척도법)으로 대표되는 종래의 이미지 평가에서는 계측대상을 [집단적인]경향으로 취급하여 독립적으로 판단을 하도록 요구되어져 왔다. 그러나 이러한 SD법적 평가만으로는 사물인지과정에 있어서 인간의 유연한 유사성 판단능력을 평가에 반영시키기에는 불충분하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는, 직감적 판단에 의한 자극의 분류와, 계층분석법 및 퍼지적분법에 기초를 둔 계층적 이미지 평가 방법을 제안하였다. 평가 프로세스는 평가 자극 및 평가 항목의 직감적 분류, 동일 카테고리 내에서의 대표예의 선정, 각 자극의 이미지평정, 피지적분법에 의한 우선도의 산출 등의 순서에 따라 진행되며, 이러한 평가 프로세스를 상호대화적인 환경하에서 수행하기 위한 평가지원용 소프트웨어를 개발하였다.

Developing an Integrated Evaluation Technology for Energy- and Cost-Efficient Building Design Based on BIM in the Real-time Manner

  • Existing BIM(Building Information Modeling) based energy evaluation tools cannot be utilized enough for the potential performance of BIM because most of them have not provided the integrated model for energy evaluation, assessment of the material, cost of the construction, and so on. This research aims to propose and develop a new application, EcoBIM, to support an integrated evaluation of the energy and cost efficiencies of the design alternatives within the design process. The proposed application functions as a BIM-based evaluation system that calculates energy-savings performance as well as the construction cost of the alternatives at the design stage. This study mainly focuses on the possibilities of developing the proposed technology. We also suggest an advanced design process using the proposed system, corresponding to changes of national regulations in Korea. This study deduce that EcoBIM can allow architects to make suitable decisions regarding energy- and cost-efficient designs. The proposed design process will allow architects not only to check the eco-friendly performance of design alternatives but also predict the operation cost in a certain period in the future. EcoBIM can prevent large-scale design changes required to obtain environmental certification and enable the owner to make an informed decision about the initial investment of construction according to the result of the analysis of the energy requirement at the design stage.
