During the past five years a very successful effort has been made to improve existing and develop new aluminium alloys. The progress achieved has been possible because of the development of new production methods, such as powder metallurgy and spray/deposition. These methods make use of rapid solidification process which alloys compositions other than those achieved by conventional ingot metallurgy. The ingot metallurgy of the 2000 and 7000 series used thus far, as well as the age hardening Al-Li alloys, show several disadvantages caused by the production process. Such problems are primarily coarse intermetallic constituent phases, coarse grains and macrosegregation, resulting in low fracture toughness. The present contribution reports results of an experimental investigation performed on a modern high strength spay deposited aluminium alloy of the Al-Zn-Mg-Cu (7075 and the modified 7150X) type. Results are given in terms of its microstructural characterization by using X-ray diffractomertry and transmission electron microscopic. The mechanical propierties of those alloys in the as-extruded and extruded+aged condition were evaluated by using microhardness Vickers, tensile test and fracture toughness measurements.
The first aim of the study is to improve the productivity by uniformizing the thickness of coating and reducing quality-inspection time. The second aim is to cut down on the raw materials for coating by prevent the waste of spraying in the air during a painting process through a real-time coating-size-recognition monitering to fit the target components. To achieve the two aims, a simplified version of automatic coating control system for recognition of coating for vessels and Spray. With the sytem, following effects are expected: First, quality improvement will be achieved by uniformizing the film-thickness. Second, it will reduce the waste of coating paint by constructing the speed of the coating, the spray gun robot transfer time, and the number of DBs according to the size of the vessel. Third, as a 3D industry, it will be able to solve the difficulty of supply of labors and save up the labor costs. Therefore, in the future, further research will be needed to be applied to various products with DB design that designates the variable value, which is added for each type of pieces by comparing the difference between various types of workpieces and linear ones.
Because of environmental regulations in emissions control area, the demand for ships to use LNG as fuel is increasing. Orders for domestic shipbuilders to produce LNG carriers are steadily increasing. However, major appliances such as spray pump, main cargo pump and others have been relied on imports. Therefore, development of pump motor using at cryogenic temperature is necessary. Operating temperature of an induction motor is at $-163^{\circ}C$. At this low temperature, the resistivity of a motor coil is quite different from normal ones, and so does the torque characteristics of motor. This paper presents a designing method of a cryogenic induction motor for LNG pump. The variation of resistivity of motor coil is considered in the design process. The heat source such as core-loss, hysteresis-loss and copper-loss are analyzed to prevent the LNG evaporation which may cause the motor failure.

Agricultural automation has become more and more important by environmental change. The automation demands the highest technology due to the ever changing various conditions in agriculture system. In the paper, semi-autonomous pesticide spray robot system has been developed for rose farming in the glass house. The robot is in autonomous mode during pesticide spraying process driven on pipe rail. The robot is manually driven while moving from a rail to the next rail. The drive platform and autonomous operation control system are developed based on IT fusion technology. The pesticide spray system is also developed with nozzles and booms for precision mist spray system. Experimental data of nozzle test is also included.
Polycrystalline CdTe thin films for solar cell continues to be a promising material for the development of cost effective and reliable photovoltaic processes. The two key advantages of this material are its high optical absorption coefficient and its near ideal band gap for photovoltaic conversion efficiency of 1.4-1.5 eV. In this study we made the CdTe thin films for solar cell application which was deposited on the glass substrates using a modified chemical spray method at low temperature. This process does not require the sophisticated and expensive vacuum systems. The prepared CdTe films were characterized with the aid of scanning electron microscope (SEM), UV-visible spectrophotometer, and X-ray diffraction spectrometer (XRD). Following are results of a study on the "Human Resource Development Center for Economic Region Leading Industry" Project, supported by the Ministry of Education, Science & Tehnology(MEST) and the National Research Foundation of Korea(NRF).

Solvent-free paint is sprayed from higher-pressure conditions, because the viscosity is large. The hydraulic actuator which can be operated under higher-pressure condition is required to spray solvent-free paints in painting process for the environmental protection. The purpose of this paper is to develop the hydraulic actuator under higher-pressure conditions for solvent-free paint spraying system. The hydraulic actuator consists of inner spool, outer spool and ball. The analysis of a structural stability was conducted by using ANSYS V11 under the design condition of upward and downward movement of spool. As a result, the maximum von-Mises stress applied on spool under 4mm displacement showed a value of 106MPa which was greater than the allowable stress of the spool with a value of 250MPa and a value of safety factor 3. This result suggested that the spool system be unstable under the design condition so that it was necessary for the spool system to be reinforced to secure the structural stability.
High $J_c$ over 1 $MA/cm^2$ YBCO film has been successfully prepared using nitrate precursors by spray pyrolysis method. Aerosol drolpets generated using a concentric spray nozzle were directly sprayed on a $LaAlO_3$(100) single crystal substrate. The cation ratio of precursor solution was Y:Ba:Cu=1:2.65:1.35. The distance between nozzle and substrate was 15 cm. Deposition temperature was ranging from $750^{\circ}C\;to\;800^{\circ}C$. Deposition pressure was 100 Torr, and oxygen partial pressure was varied from 10 Torr to 50 Torr. The microstructure, phase formation, texture development and superconducting properties of deposited films were largely changed with oxygen partial pressure. Deposited films showed a texture with(001) planes parallel to substrate plane. High quality film was obtained when film was deposited at $760^{\circ}C$ with an oxygen partial pressure of 30 Torr. The critical current density($J_c$) of the YBCO film was 1.75 $MA/cm^2$ at 77 K and self-field.

The cooling of hot exhaust gas is an important issue for the construction of combustor test facility. Water spray is an effective method for exhaust gas cooling due to its large latent heat in process of evaporation. In this study, 1-D analysis has been performed based on continuity, energy conservation, and saturated vapor property to understand water spray cooling of combustion gas. In the exhaust duct of combustor test facility, the injected water decreases combustion gas temperature, and evaporates in the combustion gas. However, some of the injected water is collected in the sump due to condensation. The evaporation of water helps combustion gas cooling, but causes pressure increase inside the exhaust duct due to increase of vapor pressure. These phenomena has been analyzed by 1-D modeling in this study. From 1-D analysis, the adequate mass flow rate of water spray to cool combustion gas and to avoid excessive pressure rise inside the exhaust duct has been decided.
Alginate microspheres, containing fluorescein isothiocyanate-bovine serum albumin (FITC-BSA) or green fluorescent protein (GFP) were prepared and used as a model drug to develop the oral vaccine delivery system. The alginate microspheres were coated with poly-L-lysine or chitosan. Two methods, w/o-emulsion and spray, were used to prepare alginate microspheres. To optimize preparation conditions, effects of several factors on the particle size and particle morphology of microsphere, and loading efficiency of model antigen were investigated. In both preparation methods, the particle size and the loading efficiency were enhanced when the concentration of sodium alginate increased. In the w/o-emulsion preparation method, as the concentration of Span 80 was increased from 0.5% to 2%, the particle size was decreased, but the loading efficiency was increased. The higher the emulsification speed was, the smaller the particle size and loading efficiency were. The concentration of calcium chloride did not show any effect on the particle size and loading efficiency. In the spray preparation method, the particle size was increased as the nozzle pressure $(from\;1\;kgf/m^2\;to\;3\;kgf/m^2)$ and spray rate was raised. Increasing calcium chloride concentration (<7%) decreased the particle size, in contrast to no effect of calcium chloride concentration on the w/o-emulsion preparation method. Alginate microspheres prepared by two methods were different in the particle size and loading efficiency, the particle size of microspheres prepared by the spray method was about $2-6\;{\mu}m$, larger than that prepared by the w/o emulsion method $(about\;2{\mu}m)$, and the loading efficiency was also higher with spray method. Furthermore, drying process for the microspheres prepared by the spray was simpler and easier, compared with the w/o emulsion preparation. Therefore, the spray method was chosen to prepare alginate microspheres for further experiments. Release pattern of FITC-BSA in alginate microspheres was evaluated in simulated intestinal fluid and PBS (phosphate buffered saline). Dissolution rate of FITC-BSA from alginate/chitosan microsphere was lower than that from alginate microsphere and alginate/poly-L-lysine microsphere. By confocal laser scanning microscope, it was revealed that alginate/FITC-poly-L-lysine microspheres were present in close apposition epithelium of the Peyer's patches of rabbits following inoculation into lumen of intestine, which proved that microspheres could be taken up by Peyer's patch. In conclusion, it is suggested that alginate microsphere prepared by spray method, showing a particle size of & $10\;{\mu}m$ and a high loading efficiency, can be used as a model drug for the development of oral vaccine delivery system.
