Optimization of the Manufacturing of Process Butter by Response Surface Methodology and Its Texture and Rheological Properties (반응표면분석법에 의한 가공버터 제조의 최적화 및 Rheology 분석)

  • Using central composite design, we have designed optimization of the manufacturing of processed butter. And response surface analysis by least-square regression was used Statistical Analysis System(SAS). Central composite design can be achieved by response surface techniques that allow flexibility in modeling and analysis. Response surface methodology(RSM) was used to optimize hardness(%) using as independent variables; the content of butter($X_1$), ranging from 50 to 90(%), the content of soybean oil($X_2$), from 0 to 20(%), and the hydrogenated soybean oil($X_3$) from 0 to 4(%). The results on the regression coefficients calculated for overrun by response surface by least-square regression(RSREG) were followed. It was considered that the linear regression was significant(p<0.01). As for the processed butter, the regression model equation for the hardness(Y, %) to the change of an independent variable could be predicted as follow: $Y=60.88-8.92X_2-{29.3X_2}^2$. The optimal for the manufacturing of processed butter were determined at the content of butter of 88.22%, soybean oil of 6.71% and hydrogenated soybean oil of 2.36%, respectively. Optimum compositions were resulted in hardness of 65.78 N. Finally the reference sample(Butter in the morning, Seoul Dairy Co-op.) and processed butter manufacturing under the optimal conditions were compared with spreadability test. The spreadability scores result from reference sample and butter under optimal conditions was not found a significant difference.

  • Polymer solar cells have attracted extensive attention over the past decade due to their benefits, such as good solution-process-ability, light weight, low-cost, mechanically flexibility, and high efficiency. Conjugated (CPE) and non-conjugated (NPE) polyelectrolyte materials have been employed to avoid the typical weaknesses associated with conventional metal oxide interlayers. However, the application of CPEs is more complicated than that of NPEs because the synthesis procedures are complicated. NPEs containing charged ion groups can provide numerous benefits for renewable energy applications. Especially when implemented in polymer solar cells.

  • In this paper we have designed and implemented in real time a simple, efficient and flexible AOPCM cosec using a high speed digital processor, NEC 7720. For ADPCM system, we have used an instantaneous adaptive quantizer and a first-order fixed predictor. The software for NEC 7720 has been developed and it was found that the NEC 7720 was capable of performing the entire ADPCAt algorithm for 4 channels in real time as optimizing the program. Computer simulation has born made to investigate a computational accuracr of NEC 7720 and to de-termine necessary parameters for a ADPCM codec. Real telephone speech, RC-shaped Gaussian noise and 1004 Hz tone signal were used for simulation. In simulation, the parameters werc optimized from the computed SNR and the informal listening test. The developed software was tested in real time operation using a hardware emulator for NEC 7720. It took a maximum 23.25$\mu$s to encode one sample and 113.5$\mu$s, including all the necessary 1/0 operations, to encode 4 channels. In the case of decoding process, it took 24.75$\mu$s to decode one sample and 119.5$\mu$s to decode 4 channels.

  • This paper describes radix-4 Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) Processor designed with the new twice perfect shuffle developed from a perfect shuffle used in radix-2 FFT algorithm. The FFT Processor consists of a butterfly arithmetic circuit, address generators for input, output and coefficient, input and output registers and controller. Also, it requires the external ROM for storage of coefficient and RAM for input and output. The butterfly circuit includes 12 bit-serial ($16{\times}8$) multipliers, adders, subtractors and delay shift registers. Operating on 25 MHz two phase clock, this processor can compute 256 point FFT in 6168 clocks, i.e. 247 us and provides flexibility by allowing the user to select any size among 4,16,64,and256points. Being fabricated with 2-um double metal CMOS process, it includes about 28000 transistors and 55 pads in $8.0{\times}8.2mm^2$area.

  • Moreover a new logistics concept is needed through the sharing information between suppliers and consumers, which maximizes the level of customers service and its flexibility by changing functional-oriented to process-oriented. In other words, Supply Chain Management(SCM) is now considered as a key aspect of business, which controls the flows of information, funds, and goods in the supply chain. Rationalization of transport-delivery system will be one of the most important issues on logistics management to the domestic companies. The companies need the effective delivery system. Especially in the case of delivery system from distribution centers to customers or vendors, it might take a long time to control the delivery system manually because it would be hard to apply the automatic vehicle routing algorithm effectively considering all the practical constraints. Thus this study develops a heuristic algorithm of automatic vehicle delivery support system in terms of grouping by short ranges of vehicle movement utilizing postal coordinates, which satisfies a variety of realistic constraints and reduces controlling time of manual operations.

  • Flexible electronics have been to the fore because it is believed that flexibility can add incredible value such as light weight and mobility into the existing electronic devices and create new markets of large-area and low-cost electronics such as wearable eletronics in near future. Offset printing processes are regarded as major candidates for manufacturing the flexible electronics because they can provide the patterning resolution of micron-size effectively in large-area. In view of mechanics, the most important viewpoint in offset printing is how to achieve the synchronized movement of two contact surfaces in order to prevent slip between two contact surfaces and distortion of the blanket surface during ink transfer so that the high-resolution and good-overlay patterns can be printed. In this paper, a novel low-cost measurement method of the synchronization error using the motor control output signals is proposed and the compensation method is presented to minimize the synchronization error.

  • In this study, the design methodology as well as network architecture of Support Vector Machine based Polynomial Neural Network, which is a kind of the dynamically generated neural networks, is introduced. The Support Vector Machine based polynomial neural networks is given as a novel network architecture redesigned with the aid of polynomial neural networks and Support Vector Machine. The generic polynomial neural networks, whose nodes are made of polynomials, are dynamically generated in each layer-wise. The individual nodes of the support vector machine based polynomial neural networks is constructed as a support vector machine, and the nodes as well as layers of the support vector machine based polynomial neural networks are dynamically generated as like the generation process of the generic polynomial neural networks. Support vector machine is well known as a sort of robust pattern classifiers. In addition, in order to enhance the structural flexibility as well as the classification performance of the proposed classifier, multi-objective particle swarm optimization is used. In other words, the optimization algorithm leads to sequentially successive generation of each layer of support vector based polynomial neural networks. The bench mark data sets are used to demonstrate the pattern classification performance of the proposed classifiers through the comparison of the generalization ability of the proposed classifier with some already studied classifiers.

  • Nitrogen is a serious contaminant in natural gas because it decreases the energy density. The natural gas specification in South Korea requires a $N_2$ content of less than 1 mol%. Thus, cost-effective $N_2$ removal technology from natural gas is necessary, but until now the only option has been energy-intensive processes, e.g., cryogenic distillation. Using porous materials for the removal process would be beneficial for an efficient separation of $CH_4/N_2$ mixtures, but this still remains one of the challenges in modern separation technology due to the very similar size of the components. Among various porous materials, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) present a promising candidate for the potential $CH_4/N_2$ separation material due to their unique structural flexibility. A MIL-53(Al), the most well-known flexible metal-organic framework, creates dynamic changes with closed pore (cp) transitions to open pores (ops), also called the 'breathing' phenomenon. We demonstrate the separation performance of $CH_4/N_2$ mixtures of MIL-53(Al) and its derivative $MIL-53-NH_2$. The $CH_4/N_2$ selectivity of $MIL-53-NH_2$ is higher than pristine MIL-53(Al), suggesting a stronger $CH_4$ interaction with $NH_2$.

  • This study is concerned with analysing complexity, flexibility and dynamism of social discoursive space. The developmental process of social discourse is analogous to that of a spatial structure of social discourse. Post-capitalist society has seen New-Liberalism and New-Conservatism have become dominant, resulting in the deterioration of the cultural politics of citizenship. It is argued that the position of otherness, in which those binary structures (inside/outside or centre/margin) collide and collapse, is where subversive discourse can emerge to dominant discursive power. Furthermore, it is necessary to democratize social discursive space, through which the Other becomes able to. participate in the social production, distribution and consumption of social discourse.

  • Today, large enterprises are changing their team organization to group organization. These trends have brought work flexibility of project and manpower usage. However, communication among group members has become more complicated, and it has been found that ERP was not efficient enough to solve this communication problem. The main purpose of this study was to design a quick and systematic communication system for group project management, and Web-based Information Reporting System (hence forth WIRS) has been proposed. The main topics covered in this paper are design of functions and system architecture, process model design, database design, and implementation of the prototype. Focus group interview was conducted and user feedback was positive about main functions for WIRS and its overall impact on the enhancement of productivity.
