  • The protein binding of salicylate analogs has been investigated by equilibrium dialysis. A series of binding experiments were performed in order to elucidate the effects of physicochemical properties of salicylate analogs on the binding with bovine serum albumin. Attempts to correlate affinity constants with capacity factor, steric factor and Hammett ${\sigma}$ values suggested hydrophobic forces to be involved in the binding of salicylate analogs. Steric factor contributes to binding process partly, whereas electronic interaction appears to be insignificant.

  • This study aims to estimate the relative importance of quality management items through the defect analysis in the landscape construction process. The RIQMI are decided by the defect coefficient and it's cause weight. The defect items in the landscape construction process were classified by 56 items based on the classification form of '96 landscape architectural construction standard and the cause pattern were categorized 4 types as design, material, construction, and environment factors. To analyze the defect coefficient and the aucse weight by defect, the researcher surveyed the questionnaires on the 103 engineers and the 31 experts on the landscape architectural construction. The result of this study are as follows. The relative importance by facilities pattern turn out to be much higher construction, material fator than design. environment factor in wood facilities, paving facilities, and steel facilities, the RIQMI is very high in timber crack, timber vending, faulty of timber against decay, welding faulty of steel facilities in material factor, and timber crack, faulty of timber against decay, finish faulty of steel facilities, welding faulty of steel facilities in construction factor.

  • In this study, software products developed in the course of testing, software managers in the process of testing software test and test tools for effective learning effects perspective has been studied using the NHPP software. The finite failure nonhomogeneous Poisson process models presented and the life distribution applied exponential and log shaped type hazard function. Software error detection techniques known in advance, but influencing factors for considering the errors found automatically and learning factors, by prior experience, to find precisely the error factor setting up the testing manager are presented comparing the problem. As a result, the learning factor is greater than autonomous errors-detected factor that is generally efficient model could be confirmed. This paper, a failure data analysis of applying using time between failures and parameter estimation using maximum likelihood estimation method, after the efficiency of the data through trend analysis model selection were efficient using the mean square error and coefficient of determination.

  • Aspergillosis is a life-threatening disease in individuals with compromised immune systems. Fungal invasion is a highly critical process during host cellular infection. Several papers have reported that transcription factors are responsible for the infection process. To investigate what transcription factors are involved in the process in an effort to inhibit fungal infection into cells, I checked the surfactant protein family and PU.1 transcription factor levels in A549 cells infected with A. fumigatus conidia. PU.1 and surfactant protein-D levels were reduced in cells infected with fungal conidia. I then observed an increase in surfactant protein-D on PU.1-overexpressed cells. Infection of A. fumigatus conidia was decreased in PU.1-overexpressed cells, whereas the suppression of PU.1 did not lead to any changes in cases of A. fumigatus conidia infection. These results indicate that PU.1 inhibits the infection of A. fumigatus conidia via the expression of surfactant protein-D, suggesting that PU.1 is a key transcription factor for protection against A. fumigatus invasion.

  • In this paper, the process effect on the RMS roughness of the $HfO_2$ thin films grown by metal organic molecular beam epitaxy was investigated. The measured RMS roughness is examined to characterize the surface morphology. In order to analyze the factor effects, the significant factors of both the main and the interaction effects were extracted through the effect analysis. In order to compare the regression model with the variable transformation, the effect of each factor and the model efficiency are calculated. The methodology can allow us to analyze the effects between the process parameters related to the process variability.

  • The research on the process capability is the basis for quality design, operation standard and so on. In this study, histogram of the measured value for the cutting process and calculation of the capability factor Cp are established, resulting in the classification of 4 grades, and necessary measures for them are presented. The advancement of productivity is the most significant result of this study. The processing time per piece for those stabilized processes having the capability factor 1.33 and above is lessened, and the advancement in quantity capability is made possible permitting dispersion of standard up to the tolerance limit. The exact knowledge of process capability is most important for the quality design system. For the efficient application of this result of the research, a systematic and positive cooperation by the whole company members is needed.

  • Abstract To investigate the effect of mechanical alloying process to thermoelectric properties of PbTe sintered body, Pb-Te mixed powder with Pb : Te : 1 : 1 composition was mechanically alloyed using tumbler-ball mill. Thermoelectric properties of the sintered body were evaluated by measuring of the Seebeck coefficient and specific electric resistivity from the room temperature to 50$0^{\circ}C$. Sintered body of only mechanically alloyed PbTe powder showed p-type behavior at the room temperature, and occurred type transition from p-type to n-type at about 30$0^{\circ}C$. PbTe sintered body which was fabricated using heat treated powder in $H_2$ atmosphere after mechanical alloying showed stable n-type behavior under 50$0^{\circ}C$. N-type PbTe sintered body fabricated by mechanical alloying process had 4 times higher power factor than that fabricated by the melt-crushing process. Application of a mechanical alloying process to fabricate of n-type PbTe thermoelectric material seemed to be useful to increase the power factor of PbTe sintered body.

  • Generally, mixed materials of LDPE, EVA and foaming agent are manufactured by crosslinking foaming or chemical foaming process. Above materials were used in a microcellular foaming injection molding process. Influence of each factor such as injection type, temperature of barrel, rate of mixed materials and contents of foaming agent was estimated by DOE(Design of Experiments). As a result of experiments, injection type and rate of LDPE, EVA have an influence on foaming rate. This data can be used in field of application of LDPE and EVA.

  • Design goal is to find the one that has the highest probability of success and the smallest variation. A robustness index has been proposed to satisfy these conditions. The two-step optimization process of the target problem requires a scaling factor. The search process of a scaling factor is replaced with the making of the decoupled design between the mean and the standard deviation. The decoupled design matrix is formed from the sensitivity or the sum of squares. After establishing the design matrix, the robust design process has a new three-step one. The first is ″reduce variability,″ the second is ″make the candidate designs that satisfy constraints and move the mean on the target,″ and the final is ″select the best robust design using the proposed robustness index.″ The robust design process is verified by three examples and the results using the robustness index are compared with those of other indices.

  • The quality of the casting process generates the largest source of defects in the manufacturing process, so its management is a key factor in productivity and quality evaluation. Based on the results of factor analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis with process data, this study aims to optimize the machine learning model to reduce the defect rate and verify the data suitability for smart factories.
