  • In this paper, we gave 3 suitable modified control chart at the same time shows. First control chart is plot analysis control chart by sampling data, Second control chart is including Upper Spec and Lower Spec in first control chart. Third control chart is including target value and new calculated upper/lower control line by using known average and standard deviation of long term data. If 3 control charts are seen at the same time, there is advantage that can see problem of process at a look. We hope this method proposed in this treatise give many help in spot.

  • The well-known standard normal distribution has been used within the limit of standard variable value of u=3.59. However, the probability values above the limit are not given in the literature. In this study, a probability computation program for standard normal distribution to u=5.99 with the proportional normal distribution a, pp.oximation suggested by Abramowitz and Stegun, Hastings is developed. The new standard normal distribution table developed by the program is presented and will be of help to estimate of probability values for testing and estimation of process mean value, lot acceptable probability, defective percentage of PPM unit of an out-of specification limit, process capability, test power of control charts, probability and statistics.

  • We compared two basic methods, combine-accumulate method and accumulate-combine method, using the past quality information in multivariate quality control procedure for monitoring mean vector of multivariate normal process. When small or moderate shifts have occurred, accumulate-combine method yields smaller average run length (ARL) and average time to signal (ATS) than combine-accumulate method. On the other hand, we have found from our numerical results that combine-accumulate method has better performances in terms of switching behavior than accumulate-combine method. In industry, a quality engineer could select one of the two method under the comprehensive consideration about the required time to signal, switching behavior, and other physical factors in the production process.

  • The long-tailed, positively skewed exponential distribution can be made into an almost symmetric distribution by taking the exponent of the data. In these situations, to use the traditional shewhart control limits on an individuals chart would be impractical and inconvenient. The transformed data, approximately bell-shaped, can be plotted conveniently on the individuals chart and exponentially weighted moving average chart. In this paper, using modifying statistics with transformed exponential of the data, we give a method for constructing control charts. Selecting method of exponent for individual chart is evaluated. And consider that smaller weight being assigned to the older data as time process and properties and taking method of exponent($\theta$), weighting factor($\alpha$) are suggested. Our recommendation, on the basis result of simulation, is practical method for EWMA chart.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose a multivariate CUSUM control chart that can detect the out-of-control state fast while monitoring the cross- and auto- correlated multivariate time series data. Methods: We first build models to estimate the observation data and calculate the corresponding residuals. After then, a multivariate CUSUM chart is applied to monitor the residuals instead of the original raw observation data. Vector Autoregression and Artificial Neural Net are selected for the modelling, and Separated-MCUSUM chart is selected for the monitoring. The suggested methods are tested under a number of experimental settings and the performances are compared with those of other existing methods. Results: We find that Artificial Neural Net is more appropriate than Vector Autoregression for the modelling and show the combination of Separated-MCUSUM with Artificial Neural Net outperforms the other alternatives considered in this paper. Conclusion: The suggested chart has many advantages. It can monitor the complicated multivariate data with cross- and auto- correlation, and detects the out-of-control state fast. Unlike other CUSUM charts finding their control limits by trial and error simulation, the suggested chart saves lots of time and effort by approximating its control limit mathematically. We expect that the suggested chart performs not only effectively but also efficiently for monitoring the process with complicated correlations and frequently-changed parameters.

  • There are many software reliability models that are based on the times of occurrences of errors in the debugging of software. It is shown that it is possible to do likelihood inference for software reliability models based on finite failure model and non-homogeneous Poisson Processes (NHPP). For someone making a decision about when to market software, the conditional failure rate is an important variables. The infinite failure model are used in a wide variety of practical situations. Their use in characterization problems, detection of outlier, linear estimation, study of system reliability, life-testing, survival analysis, data compression and many other fields can be seen from the many study. Statistical process control (SPC) can monitor the forecasting of software failure and thereby contribute significantly to the improvement of software reliability. Control charts are widely used for software process control in the software industry. In this paper, proposed a control mechanism based on NHPP using mean value function of Musa-Okumo and Power law type property.

  • One of the major issues of statistical process control for variables data is monitoring both the mean and the standard deviation. The traditional approach to monitor these parameters is to simultaneously use two seperate control charts. However there have been some works on developing a single chart using a single plotting statistic for joint monitoring, and it is claimed that they are simpler and may be more appealing than the traditonal one from a practical point of view. When using these control charts for variables data, estimating in-control parameters and checking the normality assumption are the very important step. Nonparametric Shewhart-Lepage chart, proposed by Mukherjee and Chakraborti (2012), is an attractive option, because this chart uses only a single control statistic, and does not require the in-control parameters and the underlying continuous distribution. In this paper, we introduce the Shewhart-Lepage chart, and propose the design procedure to find the optimal diagnosis limits when the location and the scale parameters change simultaneously. We also compare the efficiency of the proposed method with that of Mukherjee and Chakraborti (2012).

  • In today's organization, measurement plays a crucial role in helping improve process or quality. In this paper, we review the measurement error study, classical gauge repeatability and reproducibility study, and designed experiment suited for the determination of the measurement capability. Measurement error study is very simple to use but is rather crude. Hence, it should be used as a preliminary study to determine whether further study is necessary. Classical gauge repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R) study is the most common technique for evaluation of gauge capability. It calculates a percentage that relates the repeatability, reproducibility, and overall R&R to the specification range for the parameter measured. Hence, the individual repeatability and reproducibility statistics will indicate the area on which to concentrate. However, GR&R study only gives a point estimate of each component, which leaves a room for improvement. It is always good to integrate the use of control charts to ascertain the statistical stability of the measurement process. The tools of statistical experimental design are available for a comprehensive design and analysis of the measurement process. Hence, in this paper, we present gauge capability analysis as an experimental design problem and compare it with the classical GR&R study.
