미국 텍사스주 도시근로자의 통행행태 연구 (A Study on the Travel Behavior of Urban Employees in Texas, U.S.A.)

  • 도시 근로자들의 높은 승용차 이용율과 낮은 재차인원율으로 인해 대도시에서의 교통혼잡이 가중됨에 따라 중앙정부 및 지자체에서는 적극적인 도시 교통수요관리 정책을 시행할 계획이며 이에 따라 다양한 교통수요관리 정책을 어디에 어떻게 적용해야 하는가에 대한 관심이높아지고 있다. 본 연구는 미국 텍사스 주 근로자의 통행특성 변화를 분석하여 도시규모, 직장위치, 그리고 직업종류 변화에 따른 낮은 재차인원율과 높은 승용차 이용율을 나타내는 직장 소재지 및 직업종류를 도출하였다. 연구 결과 대도시에서는 도시 및 도시주변 직장 근로자들이 낮은 재차인원율을 나타냈으며 중도시에서는 도심 및 도심주변 근로자들이 낮은 재차인원율을 나타냈고 소도시에서는 도시 및 도시주변 근로자들이 낮은 재차인원율을 나타냈다. 서비스업 근로자는 모든 도시규모에서 낮은 재차인원율을 나타냈다. 한편 승용차 이용율은 대도시 서비스업 근로자들이 높은 승용차 이용율을 나타냈으며 소도시의 도심과 도심주변 소재 직장 근로자와 기본업 근로자들이 높은 승용차 이용율을 나타냈다.

민간경비 산업의 인력수요예측 (Manpower Demand Forecasting in Private Security Industry)

  • 민간경비 산업에서의 인력수요 예측은 협력 치안이 강조되는 현실에서 치안 정책과 관련된 주요 의사결정의 기초가 된다는 정책기능과 함께 장래 사회 구성원들의 올바른 진로선택에 도움을 줄 수 있도록 하는 정보기능도 수행한다는 점에서 정확한 예측이 요구되는 분야이다. 이에 최근 산업분야의 인력수요에서 보다 신뢰성 있는 수요예측을 위해 널리 활용되고 있는 ARIMA 모형을 이용하여 민간경비 산업에서의 인력 수요를 예측해 보았다. 본 연구에서는 과거 33년 치 연도별 시계열 자료를 이용하여 향후 5년 동안의 민간경비 인력 수요를 예측하였다. ARIMA 모형 설정의 기본 절차인 모형 식별 - 모수 추정 - 모형 적합성 진단을 통해 ARIMA(0, 2, 1) 모형을 최종모형으로 선정하였다. 이에 따라 민간경비 인력 수요를 예측한 결과 향후 5년 동안 지속적인 증가 현상을 확인할 수 있으며 그 증가폭 또한 전년 대비 최소 1.3%에서 최대 3.8%까지에 이를 것으로 전망할 수 있었다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 경찰과 관련 업체에서의 향후 바람직한 대응전략들에 대하여 검토해 보았다.

민간경비업체의 관계적 특성과 구매행동의 관계 (A Study on Correlations between Private Security Enterprise's Relationship Characteristics and Purchasing Behaviors)

  • 본 연구는 민간경비업체와 소비자들의 관계적 특성과 구매행동의 인과관계를 규명하여 무한 경쟁에 도립하고 있는 민간경비업체도 소비자의 필요와 욕구를 파악하여 최상의 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 마케팅 전략을 모색하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적 달성을 위하여 연구대상은 충남 천안시를 동남과 동서로 나누어 민간경비업체를 이용하고 있는 상점 직원을 대상으로 편의표집법으로 236명을 표집하였다. 조사도구는 설문지로서 국내 외 선행연구를 기초로 하여 재구성하여 사용하였으며, 자료 처리는 SPSS version 18.0 통계패키지를 이용하여 빈도분석, 신뢰도분석, 요인분석, 상관관계분석, 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 이상의 연구방법과 절차에 따른 자료 분석을 통하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 민간경비업체의 관계적 특성과 구매행동 관계는 정(+)의 상관관계를 보이고 있어, 관계적 특성이 높을수록 구매행동은 높아진다. 둘째, 민간경비업체의 관계적 특성과 구매행동의 관계를 분석한 결과 평판, 물리적 특성, 커뮤니케이션은 구전활동에 영향을 미친다. 셋째, 민간경비업체의 관계적 특성과 반복구매의 관계를 분석한 결과 평판과 커뮤니케이션은 반복구매에 영향을 미친다.

Relationships among Organizational Commitment, Job Satisfaction, and Learning Organization Culture in One Korean Private Organization

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships among organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and learning organization culture. This study was conducted in five sub-organizations of one Korean conglomerate company. One thousand employees were randomly and proportionately selected, with 669 useable cases obtained, for a response rate of 67%. The organizational commitment instrument used from the "affective, continuance, and normative commitment" scale (ACNCS) of Allen and Meyer (1990). The "Dimensions of Learning Organization Questionnaire" of Watkins and Marsick (1997) was used to measure learning organization culture. The short form MSQ (Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire), developed by Weiss, Dawis, England, and Lofquist (1967), was the third instrument used. Descriptive statistics, correlational statistics, and inferential statistics (ANOVA and t-tests) were used. Organizational commitment (except for continuance) is moderately and positively related to job satisfaction and moderately and positively related to learning organization culture. In addition, learning organization culture is weakly to moderately and positively related to job satisfaction. No differences by age were found. Four-year college graduates are more likely to have higher creating continuous learning opportunities in learning organization culture than graduate school degree holders. Males are likely to have higher affective and continuance organizational commitment than females. Employees working in R&D, Engineering, and Manufacturing (REM) are likely to have higher continuance organizational commitment than do other types of jobs. Employees are more likely to have higher learning organization culture and job satisfaction than assistant managers. Assistant managers have higher continuance organizational commitment than managers. Managers generally have higher organizational commitment, learning organization culture, job satisfaction than assistant managers. They also have higher learning organization culture than employees. Employees who had worked for less than four years in their current job and organization have higher promoting inquiry and dialogue in learning organization culture than those who have worked for ten years or more. Employees in the insurance organization have higher affective organizational commitment, learning organization culture, and job satisfaction than those of the other organizations. Finally, employees of the electronic company have higher continuance organizational commitment in learning organization culture than those of other companies. In summary, this research enables CEOs and HRD and HRM practitioners to view organizational commitment, learning organization culture, and job satisfaction as important variables in exploring diverse ranges of topics related to the workplace. And then, they can diversely apply their management, interventions and practices to fit these diverse characteristics.

인구고령화에 따른 민간경비 노동시장 변화와 대응방안 (A Change of Private Security Labor Market and Countermeasures by Population Aging)

  • 우리나라는 인적자본을 바탕으로 경제성장과 민주주의를 동시에 성취한 국가이다. 하지만 고령화로 인해 인적자본인 노동자도 고령화 되고 있다. 이러한 고령화는 우리나라 경제, 사회, 문화에 이르기 까지 영향을 미치고 있다. 장기 지속적인 취업자 수 증가와 노인들의 경비업에 대한 선호도등에 의해민간경비 노동시장에서 고령자들이 차지하는 비율은 지속적으로 증가할 것으로 보인다. 이러한 노동시장의 변화로 여러 가지 문제점들이 야기 될 것이다. 법 제도 적인 문제, 노동능력의 변화, 범죄의 증가 등이다. 이러한 잠재적인 문제점들을 방지하기 위해서는, 먼저 법 제도적으로 고령자 민간경비원의 최대근무 시간의 한계를 정하고 휴게시간을 보장해야한다. 그리고 고령자들의 급격히 저하되는 체력적 노동능력을 보완하기 위해 업무에 맞게 체계화된 교육을 통하여 노동능력의 저하를 줄여야 한다. 마지막으로 범죄의 증가는 직무교육시간을 늘리고 범죄사례를 통해 경각심을 일깨워 줄 수 있는 교육 내용을 통해 범죄를 줄이도록 해야 한다.

A Multi-Group Analysis of Risk Management Practices of Public and Private Commercial Banks

  • The study examines the relationship between credit risk and operational risk (understanding of risk management, risk identification, risk assessment and control, and risk monitoring) on risk management practices followed by private and public sector commercial banks. The cross-sectional data method was used to check the impact of risk management practices. Data was collected from the bank employees and a total of 284 respondents were finally selected for further analysis. Measurement Invariance of Composite Models analysis is used to test the quality of the measurement model for sub-samples, and multi-group analysis is used for path analysis in sub-sample through PLS-SEM. The findings of the study as the total sample show that both types of banks are managing adequate and significant risk management practices. On the other hand, sub-groups' results show private sector banks are more momentous than public sector banks. Risk identification is significantly different at the sub-group level, which shows public sector banks are more concentrating on this type of risk. Understanding of risk management has no significant effect on both types of banks and risk assessment & control for public sector banks, and there is a difference in the risk management practices among private and public sector commercial banks.

민간경비업체의 관계적 특성, 서비스품질과 소비행동의 구조적 관계 (The Structure Model between Private Security Company's Relationship Characteristics, Service Quality and Consumer Behavior)

  • 본 연구는 민간경비업체와 이용고객간의 관계적 특성, 서비스 품질과 소비행동 간의 관계를 구조모형을 통하여 규명하여 동종업체의 생존경쟁에서 신규고객 유치와 기존고객의 유지와 동시에 충성도를 높일 수 있는 실질적인 서비스를 제공함과 동시에 공격적인 관계마케팅 전략을 세우기 위한 학문적 기초자료를 제공하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적달성을 위하여 충청남도 천안시의 민간경비업체를 이용하고 있는 상점 직원을 대상으로 편의표집법을 이용하여 229명을 대상으로 연구를 수행하였다. 조사도구는 설문지로서 국내 외 선행연구를 기초로 하여 재구성하여 사용하였으며, 자료 처리는 SPSS version 18.0과 AMOS 18.0 통계패키지를 이용하여 빈도 분석, 신뢰도 분석, 확인적 요인분석, 구조모형 분석을 실시하였다. 이상의 연구방법과 절차에 따른 자료 분석을 통하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 민간경비업체의 관계적 특성은 서비스품질에 영향을 미친다. 둘째, 민간경비업체의 서비스품질은 소비행동에 영향을 미친다. 셋째, 민간경비업체의 관계적 특성은 소비행동에 영향을 미친다. 넷째, 민간경비업체의 관계적 특성과 소비행동 간에 매개효과로써 서비스품질은 영향을 미친다.

사회복지시설의 민간자원 동원에 영향을 주는 요인 분석: 후원을 중심으로

  • Social welfare facilities where provide the socially disadvantaged with proper social services, face financial difficulties. This is because not only of the lack of governmental support, but also of social welfare facilities' lack of skills in developing abundant resources from the private sector. In this context, this study tried to find factors affecting resource mobilization of the social welfare facilities to devise policies in resource development. Mail survey was conducted with the structured questionnaire. Employees in charge of community resource development were asked to answer the questionnaire. The study population were two types of welfare facilities: community welfare centers and residential care facilities. A total of 293 community welfare centers and 632 residential care facilities responded to the survey. The response rate was about 62%. The dependent variable of the study was the amount of resource mobilization in the year 2001 which was measured as the number of donors, the total amount of donation, and estimated amount of gift-in-kind. Three types models were constructed per each welfare facility. Independent variables were selected based on the previous research findings: community environment factor, structural factor, and resource development factor. Multiple regression was utilized to analyze the data. The resource development factor turned out to be significant variable in various models. In the models of donors, the amount of donation, and the amount of gift-in-kind, at least one out of four variables in the resource development factor was significant. Welfare centers which establish the resource development department or hire employees to take care of resource development, and adopt computer software in managing donors, receive more donations than their counterparts. Interestingly, the centers where employees take the responsibility of resource development as well as other responsibilities (dual duty), did not have more resources mobilized than those with no employees for resource development. Using computer software in managing donors turned out to be a significant variable in many models, except for the donor model. In addition, residential care facilities located in urban area have more donors and donations, and among residential facilities those for the elderly, children, and the mentally retarded and those hiring more employees, receive more donations than those for the disabled and those hiring less employees. As for the gift-in-kind model, the centers located in high income area and residential facilities for the elderly, women and mentally retarded receive less gift-in-kind than those for the disabled. Based on the above findings, this study suggested that to mobilize resources the welfare centers as well residential care facilities need to have community resource development department or resource development staffs, and adopt computer software to systematically organize donors.

  • Total quality management (TQM) has been adopted in the U.S. as a way of management strategies by private enterprises as well as by the public sector. The ultimate goal of all quality management techniques and strategies is to improve quality by reducing waste, improving production process, and involving all members of the company in quality management. The purposes of this study are to review the performance of TQM activities and, based on the results, practically examine whether TQM is necessary or not in enhancing the performance of medical service institutions (hospitals) by assessing the status of TQM activities of medical service institutions and comparing such activities. A questionnaire survey was conducted against employees working for general hospitals in Seoul and other provincial areas. The questionnaire contained organized questions that were answered in writing by the target employees. A total of 184 questionnaires were collected and analyzed. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, TQM activities and performance were found to be positively correlated. Second, TQM activities and performance differed according to ownership types. Third, TQM activities and performance differed according to geographical locations. Fourth, TQM activities and performance differed according to leadership types.

동해 구 삼척개발 사택의 건립과 건축적 특징에 관한 조사연구 -등록문화재 A호와 2·3호 사택을 중심으로- (A Research Study on the Architectural Characteristics of old Samcheok Construction Company Housing in Donghae City -focused on A and No. 2·3 Houses as Registered Cultural Properties-)

  • The old Samcheok construction company housing in Donghae City was built for employees of Nitrogenous lime factory with railway construction in 1939. The 31 company houses are arranged in a rows including a House A, two No. 2 and 3 Houses, a dormitory, 12 row houses of two households, and 15 row houses of four households. At present, they are preserved with prototype at that time of building as a private company. Researching the architectural characteristics from A and No. $2{\cdot}3$ detached houses of them, the results are as follows. The tea room, living room, and kitchen are centralized and connected with toilet, bathroom, and maid's room by corridor. The exterior wall was finished with paintwork on cement mortar on stud wall framing plastered. The key exterior elements such as diamond shaped asbestos slate, large openings, corner bay window, lintel cornice are in accordance with drawings that they were first designed. The wooden roof structure is based on the structure that supports transverse load with a beam and beam plate instead of thrust. The kitchen and toilet are remodelled and only seem to be a mere shadow of their former self, but the position of sink and toilet bowl is the same as before.
