Applying Application-Level Multicast technology (ALM) to Distributed Interactive Applications (DIAs) becomes more and more popular. Especially for DIAs embedded priority that the sender forwards data to receivers due to their respective priorities. The priority-based directed minimum spanning tree (PST) algorithm was designed for these DIAs. However, the PST has no efficient priority selection and filtering mechanism. The system will consume a tremendous amount of resource for reconstructing distribution tree and becomes unstable and unscalable. In this paper, First, We propose a novel priority-based application level multicast algorithm: Predict-and-Quantize for Priority with directed minimum Spanning Tree (PQPST), which can efficiently predict efficient priorities for the receivers and quantize the predicted priorities to build the multicast distribution tree. Second, we propose Priority Discrepancy Heuristic Mechanism (PDHM), which sets different thresholds of priority discrepancy within the priority discrepancy interval to control the distribution tree construction can efficiently decrease the repeated distribution tree construction, and we get the best heuristic priority discrepancy interval by PQPST. According to the simulation results, the PQPST and PDHM can efficiently improve the performance of the PST algorithm.
The purpose of the this paper is to make decision of the maintenance priority of power distribution system using Time-Varying Failure Rate(TVFR) with interruption cost. This paper emphasizes the practical use of the reliability indices and interruption cost. To make a decision of maintenance priority on power distribution system equipment, the quantification of the reliability level should be represented as a cost. In this paper, the TVFR of power distribution system equipment applied in this paper utilizes analytic method to use the historical data of KEPCO. From this result, the sensitivity analysis on TVFR of equipment was done for the priority, which represents that high priority of the equipment has more effect on system reliability, such as SAIDI or SAIFI, than other equipment. By this priority, the investment plan is established. In this result, customer interruption cost(CIC) could be extracted, and CIC is used as weighting factor to consider a importance of customer. After that, the result calculated the proposal method in this paper is compared with other priority method, such as lifetime, failure rate or only sensitivity.
Purpose - The purpose of this study is to examine the possible ways to minimize damage by analyzing the influence that may be exerted upon the business process of the distribution industry by unexpected climate change. Research design, data, and methodology - The optimum business process is to be implemented after dividing the diversified business process of the distribution industry into the four stages of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP). Results - First, the upper-level risks that would be impacted most sensitively by climate change have been selected. Second, the impact and characteristics of the environment have been discovered. Third, weighted values by criteria item of upper-level business risks have been analyzed. Fourth, it was possible to define the business priority order based on the individual and then to adjust the Recovery Time Objective (RTO). Conclusion - In this study, the priority order has been defined quantitatively by calculating the priority order score. Further, the priority order has been determined depending on whether any targeted business unit is applicable to the items of the business nature criteria.
This paper proposes the novel investment priority decision method for distribution facilities considering the potential failure rate and the influence of customer caused by faults in distribution networks. The Proposed method decides the investment priority of the facilities combining, by the fuzzy rules, the KEPCO's priority decision for investment and the priority decision considering SAIFI(System Average Interruption Frequency Index) and SAIDI(System Average Interruption Duration Index). To verify the performance of the proposed method, these works utilized the projects for weak facility reinforcement planned in KEPCO in the Busan region in 2003 and 2004. The evaluation results showed that the reliability of the KEPCO in the Busan region using the proposed method can be enhanced more than using the conventional KEPCO's method.
A discrete-time priority queueing system with place reservation discipline is studied, in which two different types of packets arrive according to batch geometric streams. It is assumed that there is a reserved place in the queue. Whenever a high-priority packet enters the queue, it will seize the reserved place and make a new reservation at the end of the queue. Low-priority arrivals take place at the end of the queue in the usual way. Using the probability generating function method, the joint distribution of system state and the delay distribution for each type are obtained.

The failure prediction and preventive maintenance for the equipment of nuclear power plant area using reliability-centered maintenance have been grown. On the other hand, the maintenance for power distribution system consists of time-based maintenance mainly. In this paper, the new maintenance algorithms for power distribution system are developed considering reliability indices. First of all, Time-varying failure rates are extracted from data accumulated at KEPCO using exponential distribution function and weibull distribution function. Next, based on the extracted failure rate, reliability for real power distribution system is evaluated for applying the effective maintenance algorithm which is the analytic method deciding the maintenance point of time and searching the feeder affecting the specific customer. Also the algorithm deciding the maintenance priority order are presented based on sensitivity analysis and equipment investment plan are analyzed through the presented algorithm at real power distribution system.
This paper considers discrete-time two-class Ge $o^{X/}$G/1 queues with preemptive repeat priority. Service times of messages of each priority class are i.i.d. according to a general discrete distribution function that may differ between two classes. Completion times are derived for the preemptive repeat identical and different priority disciplines. By using the completion time, the stability condition for our system is investigated.d.
Dermaptera was investigated, examined and reviewed in taxonomy and for distribution in Youngnam region. Based on the data, the local species groups were measured to choose priority-conservation-area by taxonomic root weighting and distribution analysis at 232 geographical conservation units. Eleven species belonging to 4 families and 8 genera were recorded mounting up to 68.75% of species diversity known in Korea. Found remarkably were the rare and endangered Challia fletcheri Burr at Sobaek Mountain National Park, and unusually Anisolabis maritima (Bonelli) in Taegu, Euborellia pallipes (Shiraki) at Island Geoje and E. plebeja (Dohrn) at Hwanho near Pohang. The highest species diversity was found at the temple Huibang area at Sobaek Mountain National Park with 8 species, which was measured also as the primary priority-conservation-area with 83.41 % of accumulated taxonomic root weighting indices in percentage. Geoje and Hwanho both measured as 12.18% of accumulated taxonomic root weighting index in percentage and complimentary to Sobaek Mountain National Park but supporting 5 and 3 species, respectively. The priority goes to the geographical conservation unit supporting higher species richness between two geographical conservation units in comparison. By the rule, the second priority-conservation-area should be Geoje and the third Hwanho. It is, thus, demonstrated how 11 species can be all conserved by choosing 3 priority-conservation-areas out of 232 geographical conservation units to maintain maximum species in minimum areas.

This paper proposes a improved investment priority decision method of the facilities considering the reliability of distribution networks. The proposed method decides a investment order of the facilities combining, by fuzzy rules, the investment priority decision of KEPCO and the priority decision considering reliability evaluation indices. Where reliability evaluation indices are SAIFI(System Average Interruption Frequency Index) and SAIDI(System Average Interruption Duration Index), as referred to evaluation index for sustained interruption. The reliability analysis method of distribution networks applied in this paper utilizes analytic method, where the used reliability data is historical data of KEPCO. Particularly, we assumed that the failure rate increased as the equipment ages. To verify the performance of the proposed method, we applied it with the planned projects to reinforce the weak facility electrical facilities in KEPCO in 2004. The evaluation result showed that, under a limited budget, the reliability of the KEPCO in the Busan region using the proposed method can be enhanced than using the conventional KEPCO's method. Therefore, the results verify the proposed method can be efficiently used in the actual priorities method for investing the electrical facilities.
We consider the M/PH,G/1 queue with two classes of customers in which class-1 customers have deterministic impatience time and have preemptive priority over class-2 customers who are assumed to be infinitely patient. The service times of class-1 and class-2 customers have a phase-type distribution and a general distribution, respectively. We obtain performance measures of class-2 customers such as the queue length distribution, the waiting time distribution and the sojourn time distribution, by analyzing the busy period of class-1 customers. We also compute the moments of the queue length and the waiting and sojourn times.
