A Study on a Tram Signal Priority Strategy for Commercialization of the On-Board Oriented Train Control System (차상중심 열차제어시스템 실용화를 위한 트램 우선신호 전략 연구)

  • For efficient and economical train operation in low-density railway line, on-board oriented train control system, which reduces expensive wayside equipment, is being developed. In this paper, we discuss a tram signal priority strategy which enables efficient and safe train operation when the developing system is applied to train-tram railway environment. Based on the well-known transit signal priority strategies, we develop a tram signal priority algorithm and conduct simulations by using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tool. Various considerations such as operation procedure, linkage to existing road traffic system, applicability with respect to crossroad types, and so on, are also dealt with.

  • The assumption of reinvestment rate leads to the results conflicting with the priority order of investments determined by net present worth. It has been revealed through various studies that the priority order of projects determined by the criteria based on internal rate of return is different from that determined by present worth. This study is to find out how to define reinvestment rate of return influencing the decision-making of the priority order through examining the meanings of reinvestment rate of capital and true rate of return, and to present some examples with a simple mathematical model.

  • This paper treats the problem to schedule for train with low transit priority so as to maximizing the number that can be sent during given time without interfering with the fixed schedule for train with high transit priority in a track. We transform the this problem into Time-Expanded Network without traverse time through application of Ford-Fulkerson Model, develop a TENET GENerator(TENETGEN) and obtain the data of TENET using developed TENETGEN. Finally, we seek the optimal solution to these data with Dinic's Maximal-Flow Algorithm and examine the availability of our procedures in personal computer.

Performance Analysis of ATM Switch with Priority Control Mechanisms (우선순위제어기능을 가진 ATM스위치의 성능 분석)

  • In this work, the performance of both delay sensitive traffics and loss sensitive traffics of the output buffered ATM switch with priority control mechanisms has been evaluated. We choose the partial buffer sharing mechanism as the loss priority control mechanism and the HOL(Head Of Line) priority control mechanism as the time priority control mechanism. We model loss sensitive traffics with Poisson process and delay sensitive traffics with MMPP. With loss priority control, it is confirmed that loss probability of loss sensitive traffice decreases when the loss priority control mechanism is chosen. With time priority control, it has also been confirmed that mean cell delay of delay sensitive traffics decreases when the HOL priority control mechanism is used. From this analysis, It has been confirmed that the requirements of QOS for both loss sensitive and delay sensitive traffics can be satisfied in the ATM switch by combining both the loss priority control mechanism and the HOL priority control mechanism.

Effects of Software Education Program for the Education Welfare Priority Support Students on Learning Motivation, Self-efficacy and Goal Orientation

  • In this paper, we propose a Software Education Program for the Education Welfare Priority Support students. Elementary school students of education welfare priority support programs has low school satisfaction level and course maturity. Also, they have various problem such as relatively large digital divide when compared to general student. To solve such problem, we designed, developed, and applied a software education program on education welfare priority support program's elementary school students to analyze its effect on their learning motivation, self-efficacy, and goal orientation. Software education program followed the main stages of ADDIE model and was designed into experience Sharing, Requirements analysis, Sharing, Grouping, and Organizing. 20 of 6th graders in education welfare priority support programs were chosen as subject for software education program. The effectiveness has been analyzed through pre, and pro test. As a result of the analysis, we found that the developed software education program has meaningful effect on Learning Motivation, Self-efficacy, and Goal Orientation of education welfare priority support program's elementary students.

  • Self-healing is one of the techniques that assure dependability of mission-critical system. Self-healing consists of fault detection and fault recovery and fault detection is important first step that enables fault recovery but it causes overhead. We can detect fault based on model, the detection tasks that notify system's behavior and compare normal behavior model and system's behavior are heavy jobs. In this paper, we propose architecture-based multi-level self-adaptive monitoring method that complements model-based fault detection. The priority of fault detection per component is different in the software architecture. Because the seriousness and the frequency of fault per component are different. If the monitor is adapted to intensive to the component that has high priority of monitoring and loose to the component that has low priority of monitoring, the overhead can be decreased and the efficiency can be maintained. Because the environmental changes of software and the architectural changes bring the changes at the priority of fault detection, the monitor learns the changes of fault frequency and that is adapted to intensive to the component that has high priority of fault detection.

  • Bus signal priority is a name for various techniques to speed up bus public transport services at intersections with traffic signals. In this study propose methodology to optimize signal times for Early green, Green extension out of the active bus signal priority using deterministic delay model in isolated intersection on median bus lane. Fluctuation is found in the vehicle delay and person delay in the event that using this methodology redistributed to green time and checking slack green time is correct value by sensitivity analysis. As a result of the study, car delay is increased a little and person delay is decreased. As a result of slack green time sensitivity, delay is not much in it if variation of slack green time under 30%. But this methodology effectiveness is under claimed capacity if variation of slack green time over 30%.

  • The Current CORBA has many drawbacks to be deployed successfully in real-time system applications. Recently, OMG adopted Real-Time CORBA specification. In this paper. we report our efforts of a design and implementation of Priority Model of Real-Time CORBA spec., which is one of the most important components in Real-Time CORBA spec. The improvement of real-time performances of our implementation is verified by expereiments.

  • In recent years, several researchers have presented the extensive research reports on network optimization problems. In our real life applications, many important network problems are typically formulated as a Maximum flow model (MXF) or a Minimum Cost flow model (MCF). In this paper, we propose a Genetic Algorithm (GA) approach used a priority-based chromosome for solving the bicriteria network optimization problem including MXF and MCF models(MXF/MCF).
