  • 1. Background : Sasang Constitutional Medicine divides mankind into Taeyangin(太陽人), Taeumin(太陰人), Soyangin(少陽人) and Soeumin(少陰人) according to appearance, moral nature and characteristic of constitutional symptoms, and it is a medical science to study about different treatment for each constitution. In Sasang Constitutional Medicine, diagnosis of constitution was so important that we had the necessity of studying constitutional diagnostic method which had presented wholly and intuitively in Dongyi Soose Bowon(東醫壽世保元) with objective and analytic thinking. There were several attempts to classify Sasang Constitutional Types through morphological investigation of each parts of body. The one of them was to use measuring the body. In this study, we purposed to make clear whether the analysis of fingerprints and palm, one of the physical anthropologic methods would be helpful to classify Sasang Constitution. 2. Method : After practicing Questionnaire I and QSCC(Questionnaire of Sasang Constitution) II from 347 healthy Korean adults(242 males and 106 females), we analyzed fingerprints and palm prints of 208 people(142 males and 66 females) who were classified same constitution from two questionnaires. We analyzed the types of fingerprints according to the number of triradius and counted the number of dermal ridges from fingerprint center to triradius. We found triradius in the lower part of each finger and analyzed the courses of dermal ridges and counted the number of dermal ridges between each triradius. We mesured angle atd, and then researched relationship between fingerprints, palm prints and Sasang Constitution. 3. Result and Conclusion : The results of Sasang Constitution analysis of 208 Korean adults showed 76 Taeumin(36.5%), 81 Soeumin(39.0%) and 51 Soyangin(24.5%). The analytic results of fingerprints and palm prints are as follows : The types of fingerprints were helpful to sort Taeumin and the types of palm prints were helpful to sort Soyangin and Soeumin especially. In addition, the number of dermal ridges in fingerprints and palm prints were helpful to sort Soyangin. Fingerprints and palm prints have characteristic in each constitutions, so the investigation of fingerprints and palm prints seems to helpful to classify Sasang Constitution. We are planning to report fingerprints and palm prints of more subjects.

  • The Author had tried to classify lip print patterne of 380 persons aged from 3 to 71 for detecting possibility of individual identification. The results were as follows: 1. The incidency of lip print patterne by means of the Tsuchihashi modifiation method was high in type I, type Ⅱ,typeⅢ,type I`, typeⅣ, typeⅤ, respectively. 2. Any of lip print had no same shape. 3. No same shape of lip print was found even family members. 4. The shapes of lip prints were unchangeable in the period of 5 months.

  • Since domestic offset print quality control depends on the experience of persons in charge rather than objective data, the standards from the data are needed for the well-organized quality management of high-quality prints. Based on the ISO standards, now the standard specifications, such as GRACoL 7, SWOP 11, SNAP, G7 in America, and EURO Color, ECI, BVDM in Europe, and Japan Color 2001, Japan Color 2004 in Japan, are employed. There exists KS for domestic standards. However, since it has been directly imported from ISO Standards, there are discrepancies in printing materials and media. Although the quality management of commercial prints has been focused and studied. For this circumstance, standards are needed for the production of prints to meet international standards. This paper aims to find out suitable ways to approach domestic printing standards using densitometric method and colorimetric method. Printing experiments on this study were performed with domestic process color inks(Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) and domestic coated papers, under the same conditions as the actual commercial printing processes. In densitometric method, how to set up the optimal solid print density was studied through three tests such as the ways to match solid print density and print contrast to GRACoL standards respectively, and the way to get the highest contrast. In colorimetric method, how to get solid print density with the minimum color difference between the $CIEL^*a^*b^*$ color specification values in GRACoL standards and the measured color specification values in prints, was studied.

Second, how has the printmaking art as an fine arts finely accomplished an linguistic action. These are the purpose of this study.

Data collection of 726 was done through review of 'pr$\hat{e}$t-$\grave{a}$-porter Collections' of three major fashion cities; Paris, Milan and NY. Statistical analysis of frequency with chi-square test was conducted. Also qualitative interpretation of natural print design' characteristics was completed. The main findings were as follows.; The average occurrence rate of natural print design from 2011SS to 2012 SS in three collections were 6.4% in Milan 6.4%, 5.5% in Paris and 6.8% in N.Y. The five source types of natural prints in contemporary women's fashion collections were identified and the order of their appearance were as follows: flowers, plants, animals, insects & marine organisms and compound one. The plant prints were expressed by stylized or realistic touch. Flower patterns showed more variables than plants, however, there were no big difference in their image and major characteristics. The animal prints demonstrated two aspects. First one used typical animal print of fur or skin, but the other one draw the animal figure like paintings. The compound source type presented the most interesting and fresh pattern design ideas. In the insects & marine organisms, mainly butterfly and seashell & starfish, etc. appeared as real shapes or sometimes were stylized.

  • Offset lithography is the most widely used printing process in domestic printing industry, but there are no industry-wide specifications for press control to assure consistent quality across printing plants. As printing becomes more of a commodity and less of an art, it is necessary to develop a print quality specification standard suitable for Korea offset printing field. This study aims to contribute to improving the quality of domestic offset color prints by comparative study on color reproduction properties of 2 kinds of domestic process color ink composed of C(cyan), M(magenta), Y(yellow) and K(black) and of 3 kinds of domestic coated paper, using colorimetric color measurement method.
