중국 제조업 상장기업의 가치평가 설명요인에 관한 연구 (What explains firm valuation? Evidence from the Chinese manufacturing sector)

  • The price-to-earnings ratio (PER) is an important indicator to measure the stock price and profitability of a firm; it is also the most used valuation indicator among investors. When using the PER to compare the investment values of different stocks, these stocks must come from the same sector. This study mainly focuses on the China's listed manufacturing firms. By learning from previous research results and analyzing the current situation, we studied the correlation between the manufacturing sector's PER and its influencing factors from both macro and micro perspectives, the combination of which eventually sheds light on such correlation. Analyzing GDP growth rate data, Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index, and other macroeconomic variables from 2008 to 2018, we conclude that these variables jointly have a certain impact on the average PER of the manufacturing sector. We then form panel data based on relevant (2014-2018) data gathered from 317 of China's A-listed manufacturing firms to study the impact of micro-variables on PER. By using Stata and other software to analyze the panel data, we reach the conclusion that the Debt to Asset Ratio, Return on Equity, EPS growth rate, Operating Profit Ratio, Dividend Payout Ratio, and firm size have a significant impact on PER. The Current Ratio, Treasury Stock ratio and Ownership Concentration have no distinct effect on PER. Based on our empirical findings, we design a theoretical model that affects the PER.

  • We consider the problem of optimizing the performance of a system with resources shared by non-cooperative users. The worst-cast ratio between the cost of a Nash equilibrium and the optimal cost, called Price of Anarchy, is investigated. It measures the performance degradation due to the users' selfish behavior. As the objective function of the optimization problem, we are concerned in a load balancing measure, which is different from that used in the previous works. Also we consider the Stackelberg scheduling which can assign a fraction of the users to resources while the remaining users are free to act in a selfish manner.

경쟁적인 통신서비스 시장에서 MVNO 도매대가 산정에 관한 연구 (A study on the MVNO Wholesale Price in Competitive Communication Service Market)

  • In the past, companies should make enormous facility investment and acquire a right to do business in order to join communication markets, but now they can do business without important facilities, such as communication networks. Such a movement to ease regulations about companies which want to newly join the communication industry is expected not only to change a competition frame of the mobile communication market but also to greatly affect the entire communication industry. Through this study aiming to look into a way to calculate a reasonable wholesale price related to the government's introduction of the Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) system, I came up with a following result. I applied the operating profit percentage and the ratio of operating gain to cost to the cost plus model and retail minus model, respectively, to calculate the wholesale price and found that when I calculated with the cost plus model applying the operating profit percentage, I could get the highest wholesale price. On the other hand, I got the lowest wholesale price with the retail minus model by applying the operating profit percentage. Division of expenses and calculation of profit percentage are important factors in calculating the wholesale price and such results are expected to help accurate calculation of the MVNO wholesale price.

식품원가 분류에 따른 산업체급식의 식단관리 및 영양공급량평가 (Evaluation of Menu Management and Nutrition Supply in Industrial Foodservice by Food Cost)

  • Unit price of meal provision in industrial foodservice differs with each business. It is believed that menu management work, contents of menu, and nutrition supply performed by dietitian are different with unit price of meal provision. In this sense, purposes of this study are to examine meal management work and contents of menu, by food cost, at industrial foodservice in Taegu, Kyungbuk area and to evaluate variety of menu and nutrition supply. Results of the study are as follows: 1. Average number of side dishes provided at meal, including Kimchi, was 2 at low unit price, 3.0 at middle unit price and 3.1 at high unit price. 2. Possession ratio of account books using for menu management was low. 3. With regard to kind of menu, high unit price was most various and showed more various, compared to low unit price, especially in cooking oil-used cook methods such as broil, pan-fried food, fry, and roast. 4. High unit price was found as the highest in kind of used food and supply volume. 5. Sugar, Mineral, Vitamine, and Protein were satisfied with standard food content, but fat and calcium were not. 6. Supply volume of food was positively correlated to supply volume of nutrient, but kinds of cook methods and food type were not correlated to that of nutrient.

The Impact of Foreign Ownership on Stock Price Volatility: Evidence from Thailand

  • This paper examines the impact of foreign ownership on stock price volatility in an emerging market, namely, Thailand. The data were obtained from SETSMART, the database of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). After removing financial firms, banks, and insurance companies as well as filtering outliers, the final sample covers 1,755 firm-year observations from 371 nonfinancial firms listed on the SET over the five-year period from 2014 to 2018. The regression model consists of stock price volatility, measured by two methods, as the dependent variable, foreign ownership as the main independent variable, and firm characteristics including firm size, leverage, market-to book ratio, and stock turnover as the control variables. The pooled OLS, fixed effects, and random effects estimations are employed to examine the relationship between foreign ownership and stock price volatility. The results reveal that foreign ownership has a negative and significant impact on stock price volatility. The two-stage least squares (2SLS) are also performed to address potential endogeneity problem. The results still indicate a negative relationship between foreign ownership and stock price volatility. Taken together, the findings of this study suggest that foreign investors help reduce stock price volatility and thus stabilize share price in the Thai stock market.

택지지구 공동주택용지의 투자가격 결정요인에 관한 연구 - 토지특성 및 시장요인 관점에서 - (A Study of the Price Determinants for Public Residential Land Investment - From the Perspective of Land and Market Factors -)

  • 공공택지지구의 공동주택용지 매입을 통한 아파트 개발사업에서 원재료인 토지에 투자하는 부분에 대해서는 사업시행자의 내부화된 정보와 개별적인 분석에 의존하여 투자결정모형을 일반화하기 어려웠다. 이에 본 연구는 아파트 개발사업에서 가장 중요한 공동주택용지 투자가격 결정을 위해 토지의 개별 특성과 아파트 시장요인이 공동주택용지 가격에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지에 대해 분석하였다. 이를 위해 다중회귀분석방법을 활용한 횡단면 분석을 한 결과, 토지총금액에 영향을 주는 요인은 토지면적, 용적률, 건폐율, 지방권인지 여부였으며, 지상연면적당 토지가격에 영향을 주는 요인은 아파트 비율, 아파트 매매가격 및 전세가격, 분양이득변수, 지방권인지 여부, 아파트 가격지수 1년간 상승률 등으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 토지 자체의 개별요인에 의한 가격결정 요인과 완제품 시장인 아파트 시장과 원재료 시장인 토지시장과의 연관성을 규명하여, 시장요인에 근거한 객관적인 토지투자가격 결정모형을 도출하였다. 이를 통해 공동주택용지를 공급하는 사업자는 사업지구 조성 시 공동주택용지 매각금액의 적정성을 추정할 수 있고, 토지수요자인 건설사업자는 토지투자를 위한 가격결정 범위를 추정하는 데 실질적으로 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

SPA 브랜드의 글로벌 가격 전략: 국민소득 및 빅맥지수와의 비교 (Global Pricing Strategy of the SPA Brand: Comparison with GDP and Big Mac Index)

  • Due to the dramatic increase in consumers' price sensitivity and growing importance for global retailers to create relevant price strategies, this study investigates the global pricing strategy of the main SPA brands such as ZARA, H&M and UNIQLO. Based on price information shown on official website, the study developed SPA brand index by using exchange rates in terms of US dollars and ratio of differences between the local price and the US price. These figures were compared with GDP per person data in order to analyze each brand's price level against the income level. The study also compared SPA brand index with Big Mac index to identify the difference in price levels between the fast fashion market and the fast food market. ZARA and H&M were mostly targeting Middle East and Asia as a high-price market when considering index only. After taking the income level into account, however, Asia came out be the highest price market and Middle East was similar to the US market. On the other hand, UNIQLO targeted Asia as the lowest price market and the US and EU as the highest in terms of index only. But, Asia came out to be the highest price zone after considering the income level while the price of the US and EU was reasonable. Comparison with Big Mac Index indicated that most of Asia had a higher price level of the fashion market than the food market, whereas most European countries had a similar or high-price level of food market.

  • Our nation has a problem with discrimination of income distribution and inefficient of resources distribution caused by real estate price rising from a sudden economy growth and industrialization. Specially, in recent years, there is a great disparity of apartment price between the north and south of the Han river. Because the housing price is decided by the immanent value of a house and neighborhood effects of the regional where the house is situated, the housing price is occurred difference. The purpose of study was to analyze the influence of various factors of housing price. Also, this study tried to predict real estate market and to establish previous effective real estate policy. In this study, we analyzed the differences of housing price determinants about apartment developments between the north and south of the Han river, and found the important factors that affect the housing price using Structural Equation Modeling(SEM). As a result of this study, the older the buildings are, the more the housing price and the housing price rising ratio have increased, in Gang Nam area. This reason is that these have large possibility to be reconstructed and many convenient facilities, in this area. In the case of Kang Buk area, the increase rate of housing price are so low that they couldn't take effect on the housing price and they were declined. So to speak, constructing the infrastructure which takes effect on the increase rate of housing price is very urgent.

재해로 인한 농작물의 생산비 피해액 산정

  • 우리나라 정부에서는 재해피해에 대하여 공공시설의 피해는 복구비를 100% 부담하고 있으며, 사유시설인 농작물의 피해에 대해서는 복구지원금 단가산정에 의해 70%를 지급하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 재해피해 발생시 농작물에 대한 생산비 개념을 기준으로 피해액 산정을 하고자 하였다. 5가지의 농작물 피해에 대하여 작물별 단가를 고려하여 피해액을 산정하였으며, 6종류의 농작물은 상추, 호박, 고추, 시금치, 토마토, 오이 이다. 산정결과 국가에서 지급하는 복구지원금의 비율은 현 방법에 의한 농작물 피해액에 대해서 $3.3%{\sim}13.8%$, 제안된 방법의 피해액에 대해서는 $5.7%{\sim}34.1%$ 차지하는 것으로 나타났다. 제안된 피해액 산정방법은 현재방법의 피해액산정 방법보다 농작물의 피해율, 생산비 및 생육기간별 투입비율을 고려한 생산비 피해액 산정방법이다.

The Effect of Gender Imbalance on Housing Price in China

  • House ownership is considered as one of the important pre-conditions for marriage in China. Given that gender imbalance is a prominent issue in the country, competition for marriage partners might motivate males to look for a house and probably bigger and more expensive house. This is believed to have caused house price hikes in recent years. This study aims to investigate the impact of gender imbalance on house prices using data from 30 provinces in China for the 2000-2017 period. The results based on the generalized method of moments (GMM) estimations show that house price is strongly influenced by gender imbalance. However, there is no evidence to support differential effects across eastern and mid-western regions. One potential reason is that pre-marriage house ownership has become a common culture for the whole community and therefore it does not vary significantly across regions. There are several important policy implications. Firstly, the issues should be addressed by the policymakers at national level and not regional level. Secondly, the government should intervene to bring back gender ratio to its normal level. Finally, the government should limit the number of houses people can buy and increase the supply of houses in the market.
