Surgery to increase cerebral blood flow is one of the treatment methods of cerebral infarction. In order to supplement this invasive method, non-invasive devices have been introduced that use human blood pressure to pressurize the extremities to increase cerebral blood flow. However, the problem of poor speed and accuracy was raised. In this paper, the perfusion index of each arm is measured by applying pressure to both arms using Blood Oxygen Level Sensor to improve the accuracy of measurement and measurement time. The pressure applied to the arm is calculated by using the pressure value obtained from the arm. Like the existing blood pressure measuring cerebral blood flow increasing device, the blood flow can be increased by more than 20% and the measurement time can be shortened, so that it can be selectively used for the patient with cerebral infarction.

There are several sensors in the liquid cargo ship. In the liquid cargo ship, we can get values from various sensors that are level sensor, temperature sensor, pressure sensor, oxygen sensor, VOCs sensor, high overfill sensor, etc. It is important to guarantee the reliability of sensors. In order to guarantee the reliability of sensors, we have to study the diagnosis of sensor fault. The technology of smart sensor is widely used. In this paper, the technology of smart sensor is applied to diagnosis of level sensor fault for liquid cargo ship. In order to diagnose sensor fault and find the sensor position, in this paper, we proposed algorithms of diagnosis of sensor fault using independent sensor diagnosis unit and self fault diagnosis using sensor modeling. Proposed methods are demonstrated by experiment and simulation. The results show that the proposed approach is useful. Proposed methods are useful to develop smart level sensor.
As the society changes more to the aging society in future, many healthcare product are developed and distributed more on the market. The digital wrist band tye blood pressure device for home use are popular already in the market. It is useful for checking blood pressure level at home and control of hypertension. Especially. It is very essential home device to check the health condition of blood circulation disease. Nowadays many product types are available. But the measurement accuracy of blood pressure is not enough compared to the mechanical type. It needs to be upgraded to assure the precise health data enough to use in the hospital. The structure, feature and output signal of capacitor type pressure sensors are analyzed. An improved design fa capacitor sensor is suggested. It shows more precise health data after use on a wrist band type health unit. They can be applied for remote u-health medical service.

We develope a assistant system of foot pressure distribution for improvement gait Pattern, adapted working speed, and minimitation of muscle fatigue of the sensory feedback type FES system(SEFES). This measurement system consist of mat type pressure sensor with piezo electric films. The pressure data signal multiflexed input scanning method processed A/D conversion after two step amplify and integrate. Matrix sensor interface to PC for pseudo color display by level of Pressure distribution data. This measurement system clinically evaluated in hemiplegic patients. It has produced acceptable results with optimal location of the food sensor's pressure point and avoid the muscle fatigue.
The diagnosis of the failure for the existing electrical facilities was based on regular preventive maintenance, but this preventive maintenance was limited in preventing a lot of cost loss and sudden system failure. To overcome these shortcomings, fault prediction and diagnostic techniques are critical to increasing system reliability by monitoring electrical installations in real time and detecting abnormal conditions in the facility early. As the performance and quality deterioration problem occurs frequently due to the increase in the number of users of the motor pump, the purpose is to build an intelligent control system that can control the motor pump to maximize the performance and to improve the quality and reliability. To this end, a vibration sensor, temperature sensor, pressure sensor, and low water level sensor are used to detect vibrations, temperatures, pressures, and low water levels that can occur in the motor pump, and to build a system that can identify and diagnose information to users in real time.

Fiber-guided sensor system using a generator and a receiver can detect the amplitude of load or pressure. However, this type of sensor can show some difficulties in detecting the location of damages and pressure loadings. To overcome this weakness of this type, the ultrasonic active fiber sensor, which has an integrated ultrasonic generator and sensing part, was developed in this study. By using this sensor system, the location of mechanical loads can be exactly detected. Moreover, the ultrasonic active fiber sensor is more cost-effective than an ultrasonic fiber sensor using two piezoelectric transducers which are used as a generator and a receiver, respectively. Two applications of the ultrasonic active fiber sensor are demonstrated: cure monitoring of lead and measurement of liquid level. Present results showed that the active fiber sensor can be applied for various environmental sensing.

A pressure sensor is a device that converts an applied physical pressure into an electrical signal. Such sensors have a range of applications depending on the pressure level, from low to high pressure. Sensors that use physical pressure, when compared to those operating under air pressure, are not widely applied as they are inefficient. To solve this problem, graphene oxide, which exhibits good mechanical and electrical characteristics, was used to increase the efficiency of these pressure sensors. Graphene oxide has properties that control the movement of charges within the dielectric. Exploiting these properties, we evaluated the change in electrical characteristics when pressure was applied according to the ratio and thickness of the oxidation graph added to the pressure sensor.

A pulse measurement by tonometry provides useful information for diagnosis, including not only blood pressure and heart rate but also parameters for estimating a condition of the cardiovascular system. Currently, various pulse measurement devices based on the tonometry have been developed. A reliability of these devices is determined by a positioning technic between the sensor and the blood vessel and a controlling technique of the pressurization level. An angle of the sensor for the pulse measurement seems to be highly related with a measured signal, however, the objective studies for this issue have been not published. In this paper, the variation of the pulse signals by tonometry direction was experimentally assessed according to the angle of the sensor. In order for guaranteeing the repeatability of the experiment, we used a pulse generator device, which can generate human pulse signal by using silicon tube and fluid pump, and developed a structure for precise adjustment of the angle and the pressurization level of the sensor. The angle of the sensor was acquired by an inclinometer, which was attached at the opposite side of the sensor. As results, a coefficient of variation (CV) of a maximum amplitude (MA) of the pulse wave was largely increased over the angle range of $-9{\sim}9^{\circ}$. Furthermore, the changes of the pulse shape showed different aspects according to the sign of the angle tilted along the blood vessel. It is expected that the results of this study can be helpful for developing more precise pulse measurement devices based on the tonometry and applying in clinic.

The FBG sensors are inserted on the liners of the filament wound pressure tanks. The strains near the welding region of the liners are monitored in the hydro-pressurizing tests. The hydro-pressurizing tests consist of the proof tests at 4500 or 3300 psi and repeated test at the operating pressure, 3000 psi. The FBG sensors work well under $3000\mu\varepsilon$, but the strains calculated from the reflected signals are instable at the high strain level. The transverse compression on the sensor head results in the split of the reflected peaks, and the calculating algorism from the split peaks is not robust under the various signal condition. The FBG sensors fracture near $7500\mu\varepsilon$ level and lose their function permanently.

In this work, an appropriate analysis model of a precise foot sensor with low detection pressure capability under a low range of variation in the dimensional variables was proposed. With a simple two-dimensional model, it was found that a remarkably high error level sometimes occurred between the analysis and experimental results. In order to overcome the error and improve the performance, a three-dimensional model was introduced, and the detection pressure and sensor characteristics were compared with those of the experimental results, which showed its enhanced performance with less error and higher precision.
