Radiation-hydrodynamic simulations of ram pressure strippin on star-forming galaxies

  • Recent observational studies suggest that the environmental effects can shape the evolution of galaxies in clusters. In an attempt to better understand this process, we perform idealized radiation-hydrodynamic simulations of RAM pressure stripping on star-forming galaxies using RAMSES-RT. We find that extended HI disks are easily stripped by moderate ICM winds, while there is no significant decrease in the total mass of molecular gas. RAM pressure tends to compress the molecular gas, leading to enhanced star formation especially when the gaseous disk is hit by edge-on winds. On the other hand, strong ICM winds that are expected to operate at the centre of clusters strip both HI and molecular gas from the galaxy. Interestingly, we find that the strong ICM winds can induce the formation of relatively dense (~1H/cc) HI gas clouds at a distance from the disk.

NiCuZn Ferrite의 제조공정 제어(제2보) - 성형압력 및 소성온도 변화에 따른 초기투자율과 겉보기밀도에 관한 고찰 (The Prodessing Control of NiCuZn Ferrite(II) - The Relationship between Initial Permeability and Bulk Density of NiCuZn Ferrite as Functions of Forming Pressure and Sintering Temperature.)

  • 본 연구에서는 NiCuZn Ferrite 제조공정의 제어를 위하여 제조공정 변수에 따른 NiCuZn Ferrite의 물성 및 자기적특성의 변화를 검토하여, 겉보기밀도(bulk density)와 초기투자율의 관계를 명확하게 하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. $700^{\circ}C$에서 3시간 하소 한 NiCuZn Ferrite를 약 60시간 볼밀링하여 약 $0.5\mu\textrm{m}$ 입자크기로 분쇄한 후 분무 건조하여 과립화하였다. 본 연구에서는 (1)NiCuZn Ferrite 과립의 크기와 성형압력 변화와 (2)일정한 성형조건에서 소성온도의 변화에 따른 성형체 및 소성체의 물성측정, 그리고 자기적 특성을 검토하였다. NiCuZn Ferrite의 green density는 과립의 크기보다는 성형압력에 더 의존하였으며, 과립의 크기가 $150\mu\textrm{m}$ 이하 일 때 성형압력이 증가 함에 따라 green density는 $2.484\;g/cm^{3}$에서 $3.002\;g/cm^{3}$로 크게 증가하 였다. NiCuZn Ferrite의 bulk density는 소성온도에 의하여 거의 직선적으로 $3.470\;g/cm^{3}$에서 $4.754\;g/cm^{3}$로 증가하였다. 성형압력 변화 및 소성온도 변화에 따른 NiCuZn Ferrite 초기투자율과 겉보기밀도 관계를 비교 검토한 결과, NiCuZn Ferrite의 초기투자율($\mu_{i}$)과 겉보기밀도($\rho$)의 관계를 $\mu_{i}=a+b_{\rho}+c_{\rho}^2$와 같이 실험식으로 표현할 수 있었다.

Development of Capacitive-type Pressure Mapping Sensor using Printing Technology

  • In this study, I developed a simple and low cost process-printing a silver, carbon, dielectric, adhesive layer on PET films using screen printing technology and bonding the two films face-to-face-to fabricate a low price capacitive pressure-mapping sensor. Both electrodes forming the pressure measuring capacitor are arranged between the two PET films similar to a sandwich. Therefore, the sensor has the advantage of minimizing the influence of external noise. In this study, a $10{\times}10$ capacitance-type pressure-mapping sensor was fabricated and its characteristics were analyzed.

건식초지기술의 가능성 평가를 위한 건식초지기 개발 (Development of Dry Forming Mold for the Feasibility Study of Dry Forming of Paper)

  • To examine the feasibility of dry forming technology for papermaking, a dry forming mold (DFM) was developed and evaluated. Main fanning section of DFM was a cylindrical tube, and at the top of the mold a stirring equipment was placed to disperse dry fibers. These fibers were screened using a hole type screen plate placed just under the stirring equipment and dropped freely on the fanning wire located 0.9 m below of the screen plate to form a dry fiber pad. The vertical and horizontal velocity of air flow in the forming cylinder were evaluated and analyzed to find the most effective method of air flow control in the cylinder. Humidification and pressing conditions to obtain a decent dry fanned papers were examined. Results showed dry fanned papers can be prepared with this dry forming mold. And this mold can be used to examine the effect of the papermaking process factors including pressing pressure, drying temperature, humidification on sheet quality of dry formed papers.

액압성형 시험을 통한 알루미늄 튜브 재료의 성형한계도 (Forming Limit Diagram of an Aluminum Tube from Hydroforming tests)

  • A tube hydroformability testing system was designed and fabricated so as to observe the forming process and to apply forming condition along arbitrarily pre-programmed internal pressure-axial feed path. The forming limit diagram of A6063 extruded tube, of 40.6 mm outer diameter and 2.25 mm thickness, was successfully obtained through free bulging and T-forming tests except the region of high positive minor strain. It is found that the data points marked on the FLD are mostly located near the strain paths from the finite element analysis excluding the cases of large axial feed. There exist data points even in the area beyond the uniaxial tension mode, since the reduction in thickness decreases due to the axial feed. The forming limit from T-forming test was considerably lower than that from free bulge test. It seems because the deformation is localized at the pole.

  • 두께가 얇고 길이가 긴 튜브 제품을 생산하기 위한 방법으로 유동성형 공정이 많이 이용되고 있으며 이는 다른 가공방법에 비해 성형력이 작고 유동성형에 의해 가공된 제품의 기계적인 강도가 우수하며 가공 후 표면 품질이 좋기 때문이다. 특히 유동성형은 로켓 모터 케이스, 연소기, 유압 실린더 그리고 고압용기 등과 같은 고정밀도의 두께가 얇은 실린더 제품을 생산하기 위한 적합한 공정이다. 본 논문에서는 3개의 롤러를 가지는 전후방 유동성형에 대한 유한요소해석을 통해 가공깊이와 가공속도가 성형력에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 다양한 가공깊이와 가공속도 조건에서 얻어진 전후방 유동성형에서의 축방향과 반경방향의 성형력을 비교하였다.

  • In this paper backward extrusion process with lower die rotation was studied to improve the conventional backward extrusion problems ; requirement of large forming machine, the difficulty to selecting of die material caused by high surface pressure, high cost of forming machine caused by improvement of noise and vibration, and etc. In this experiment, model material, plasticine, was used of specimen. The result values of torsional and conventional backward extrusions were analyzed and compared. FE-simulation is used for analysis with DEFPRM-3D. These results show that the torsional backward extrusion is very useful process because this process can obtain the homogeneous deformation, low forming load. Decreasing forming load improves die life and makes it possible to use press of relatively low capacity. Also this process can reduce corner cavity, improve the initial cast-structure, owing to the high deformation and uniform starin distribution.

  • In the present study, the blow forming characteristics of AZ31 sheet was investigated to test the feasibility of the practical application of wrought Mg alloys. Mg alloys have drawn a huge attention in the field of transportation and consumer electronics industries since it is the lightest alloy which could be industrially applicable. Most Mg alloy components have been fabricated by casting method. However, there have been a lot of research activities on the wrought alloys and their plastic forming process recently. Shallow cups for the small electronics cases have been stamped with warm die system. However, some technical issues will challenge Mg forming when large parts are considered with warm die system over $200^{\circ}C$. Most of all, thermal expansion of die system will deteriorate a die accuracy. On the other hand, blow forming does not have a problem with inaccuracy with die system. In this study, tensile tests were followed by blow forming at various temperature and pressure. AZ31 sheet showed a superplastic deformation behavior with extensive grain boundary sliding at the temperature above $300^{\circ}C$. However, the deformation behavior was likely to differ depending on stress condition.

  • In recent years, there has been a considerable interest in the application of super plastic forming in the aircraft and automotive industries. This requires a detailed design of the technological process in order to exploit its peculiar potentialities better. Nowadays, the finite element method is used to plan the sheet metal forming processes whose simulation requires determination of material constants for super plastic materials. The present work is aimed to show a simple method to characterize super plastic materials duplex stainless steel which was formed by a constant gaspressure to hemispheres with and without back pressure. The forming operation was performed using an in-house designed and built biaxial forming apparatus. The temporal change of dome heights of hemispheres were measured for applying the pressures. The flow stresses and strain rates developed at the top of the dome during the forming step were shown to follow closely the flow stress - strain rate relationship obtained from the strain rate change tests performed at the same temperature.

  • 본 논문에서는 필라멘트 와인딩 시 장력에 의해 복합재료에 발생한 압력 정보를 이용하여 동시경화법으로 제조된 T800 탄소섬유/에폭시 복합재료-알루미늄 단면겹치기 접착조인트의 접착강도를 부가압력의 크기에 따라 측정하였다. 실험시편은 오토클레이브 진공백 성형을 통해 성형압력 (절대압력 0.1MPa, 0.3MPa, 0.7MPa)을 조절하여 제작하였다. 접착강도를 측정하기 위하여 인장실험이 실시되었으며, 필라멘트 와인딩 공정에 의해 제조된 Type III 수소저장용가의 복합재료-알루미늄 라이너의 계면 접착강도를 측정하기 위해 단면겹치기 접착조인트의 접착부에 일정한 압력을 가해줄 수 있는 압력부가 장치를 설계하였다. 적층된 복합재료에 가해지는 부가압력이 접착강도에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위해 서로 다른 세 종류의 부가압력 (절대압력 0.1MPa, 0.3MPa, 0.7MPa)을 시편에 부가하여 접착강도를 측정하고, 그 결과를 비교하였다.
