시멘트 고화체내 Cs-137의 침출능에 영향을 미치는 인자에 대한 실험적 연구와 뒷채움재를 고려한 침출 모델 (An Experimental Study on Factors Affecting the Leachability of Cs-137 in Cement Matrix and Leaching Model with Backfill)

  • 시멘트 고화체내 Cs-137의 침출에 영향을 미치는 여러 새로운 인자들에 대해 조사하였다. 조사된 인자들은 가압 상태 및 진동 상태에서의 시멘트 경화, 압력하에서의 침출, 여러 종류의 점토 첨가, 이온 교환 수지(IRN-77)의 첨가, 그리고 $CO_2$또는 공기 주입의 영향이다. 침출실험은 IAEA가 제시한 방법에 의해 수행되었고, 실험 결과를 해석하기 위해 시멘트 고화체에 대한 기공 구조를 BET방법으로 분석했다. 처분장에 처분된 고화 드럼 주위에는 뒷채움재가 채워져 있기 때문에 시멘트 고화체가 직접 지하수와 접촉할 가능성은 매우 희박하다. 그래서 뒷채움재가 침출능에 미치는 영향을 예측하였다. 잘 알려진 확산 이론을 이용하여 뒷채움재를 고려했을 때 Cs-137 또는 비방사능 물질의 장기 침출율과 누적 침출량을 예측하였다.

염석법에 의한 저압용 역삼투막 제조 및 NF로의 적용 (Composite Membrane Preparation for Low Pressure Using Salting-Out Method and Its Application to Nanofiltration Process)

  • 다공성 PE (polyethylene) 정밀여과막 지지체 위에 이온교환고분자 물질을 염석법 및 가압법(phase separated and pressurization, PSP)으로 코팅하여 저압용 나노여과막을 제조하였다. 제조한 나노여과막의 코팅유무는 SEM 사진을 통하여 확인하였으며 코팅물질, 코팅시간, 이온세기에 따라 NaCl 100 ppm에서 투과도와 배제율을 측정하였다. PEI와 PSSA_MA의 농도를 동일하게 10,000 ppm으로 하고, 3 atm의 코팅압력을 주어 코팅한 결과, PEI의 투과도는 91.2 LMH, 제거율은 64.6% 이었으며 PSSA_MA의 투과도는 122.7 LMH, 제거율은 38.1%의 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 본 연구로부터 염석법과 가압법을 통해 복합막 제조가 가능하다는 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 마그네트론 스퍼터링 법으로 제작한 Mn-Ir/Ni-Fe/Zr/Si 다층막에서 Mn-Ir의 조성과 증착조건을 변화시키고 또한 Mn-Ir층의 두께를 조절한 후 자기적 특성과 미세구조에 대하여 고찰하였다. Mn-22at% Ir의 조성에서 219Oe의 가장 높은 Hex와 30Oe의 낮은 Hc를 얻을 수 있었다. 초기진공도가 3.0$\times$10-6Torr 이상 일때는 교환이방성이 사라지게 되었으며 이것은 Mn-Ir의 비정질화와 결정립미세화에 의한 것으로 판단된다.

고분자전해질 연료전지의 동작압력에 대한 가스 확산층의 위치 별 전류밀도 및 수분거동에 대한 수치해석 (Numerical Modeling of Current Density and Water Behavior at a Designated Cross Section of the Gas Diffusion Layer in a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell)

  • 고분자 전해질 연료전지에서 물 관리는 연료 전지성능에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인이다. 공급되는 수분의 양이 적을 경우 수소이온의 이동을 담당하는 전해질의 건조현상으로, 수분의 양이 과다할 경우 반응이 일어나는 촉매층과 전해질 삼상 계면에서의 홍수현상으로 성능을 감소시키거나 동작을 멈추게 하므로 이 부분에 대한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 연료전지 수분에 영향을 주는 요소 중, 연료극과 공기극에 공급되는 상대습도를 100%로, 동작온도를 $80^{\circ}C$로 설정한 후, 입구 측에 압력을 변화하면서, 다중물리응용 수치해석을 포함하고 유한요소를 통하여 비선형 편미분 방정식이 결부된 상용코드를 이용하여 전체적인 전기화학반응 및 성능에 대한 해석을 수행하고 공기극 측의 가스 확산층에 각 위치별 전류밀도 분포와 수분포화의 분포, 압력차에 의한 동작물질의 속도 등을 분석하여 보았다. 본 연구를 통하여 얻어진 결과는 연료전지의 성능은 압력의 세기에 따라 달라지며 압력이 높을수록 성능과 위치별 최대 전류밀도가 높게 나타났으며, 공기극의 가스 확산층에서의 수분함량은 높은 압력에서보다 낮은 압력에서 수분함량이 많은 것으로 나타났으며 특히 전극의 바로 아래 부분에서의 수분이 더 많이 응축되어 나타났으며 공기극 가스 확산층에서의 동작물질의 속도는 동작물질의 입구방향에서 출구측으로 진행할수록 그 변동 폭이 크게 나타났다.

  • As an exploratory attempt, this study examines the patterns of global R&D activities of industrial firms, focusing on the management of overseas R&D centers in terms of their location, primary missions, management style, organizational structure and communication and global human resource management system Based on a review of existing studies mainly undertaken in advanced countries and cases of foreign MNCs, several hypothetical relationships are postulated : 1) There appears a strong relationship between the purpose and location of R&D activities : 2) Different levels of global management and technological capability lead to different types of overseas R&D organizations : 3) The relationship between autonomy of overseas R&D organizations and their R&D performance will be moderated by organization size, development time pressure, and a need for internal efficiency : 4) Frequent communication between the headquarter and overseas R&D organizations will increase R&D performance 5) Mutual exchange of R&D professionals between the headquarter and overseas R&D organizations will be positively related with R&B performance. In addiction, this study explores the current state of global R&D activities of selective firms in Korea, based on ie-depth interviews, and analyzes the sources of problems in their global R&D management. Finally, theoretical and managerial implications of this study are discussed and future research directions are proposed.

Microbiological Purification of L-Arabitol from Xylitol Mother Liquor

  • As a rare sugar alcohol, L-arabitol can be used in food and can prevent extra fat deposits in the intestinal tract. Commercially, L-arabitol is prepared from pure L-arabinose by hydrogenation, which needs a high temperature and high pressure, leading to a high production cost for Larabitol. Therefore, this study describes a novel L-arabitol production method based on biological purification from the xylitol mother liquor, a cheap and readily available raw material that contains a high concentration of Larabitol. First, a novel Bacillus megaterium strain was screened that can utilize xylitol, sorbitol, and mannitol, yet not L-arabitol. The isolated strain was inoculated into a medium containing the xylitol mother liquor under formulated culture conditions, where a high L-arabitol yield (95%) and high purity (80%) were obtained when the medium was supplemented with 50 g/l of xylitol mother liquor. Upon further purification of the fermentation broth by ion exchange and decolorization, L-arabitol was crystallized with a purity of 98.5%.

고효율 Oval형 EGR 쿨러 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development of Oval Type High Efficient EGR Cooler)

  • The EGR system is one of important components in diesel engine. The regulation on NOx emission has been tightened up. Therefore, it is a significant issue to develop and commercialize the high efficient EGR cooler system that reduces NOx emission in DI diesel engine. Key performance factor of the EGR cooler system is how to properly design both wavy cooling fins and gas tubes. This paper proposes a high efficient EGR cooler that has been upgraded with both the optimized wavy cooling fins and the improved shape of structure. The evaluation of the heat exchange efficiency, outlet temperature, and gas pressure drop of the EGR cooler is performed with the prototype of the proposed EGR cooler. The result shows a good solution and will be implemented to the model of a clean diesel engine being developed for both domestic and overseas market.

Capital Markets for Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises and Startups in Korea

  • This study describes the structure of the capital markets for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startup companies in Korea, which is an emerging market that has experienced drastic changes. The overall capital market can be divided into private and public capital markets. In the private capital market, most of the demand for capital comes from non-listed private firms, including startups and SMEs. In the case of SMEs and startups, the KOSDAQ, the Korea New Exchange (KONEX), and primary collateralized bond obligations (P-CBOs) are part of the public capital market. SMEs and startups are generally incapable of raising sufficient capital owing to their low credit ratings, and they largely have limited access to primary markets to issue shares and borrow money. The Korean government has developed a systematic financial aid program to provide funds to these companies. The fund for SMEs has significantly contributed to the development of the venture capital market. Many Korean banks provide substantial lending to SMEs, but this lending is available only because of the Korean government's loan recovery guarantee. Furthermore, SMEs can issue corporate debt in the form of primary collateralized bond obligations through government guarantees, but such debt issuances have placed increasing pressure on public guarantee institutions.

A University's Role for Regional Innovation: Arizona Universities' Contribution to Regional Economic Growth

  • Over the last two decades, interest increased with regard to how some research universities made direct impacts on surrounding regional economic activities and growth. Although the role of basic research for most research universities has remained strong, pressure has intensified to broaden its missions to include helping local and regional economic development efforts. Consequently, many research universities have evolved their basic scientific research mission from the production of scientific knowledge to the sharing and exchange of knowledge with local industries by actively engaging in local economic development (Uyarra 2010). Previous examination has shown that most research universities contribute to local and regional economic development by various functions they provide. They are as follows: Creation of Knowledge, Human-capital creation, Transfer of existing know-how, Technological innovation, Capital investment, Regional leadership, Knowledge infrastructure production and Influence in regional milieu (Drucker and Goldstein 2007). This paper will review the existing literature on the role of universities and its impacts on local regional economic growth and development. In addition, this paper will show how two major research universities (The University of Arizona and Arizona State University) have contributed to the growth of Arizona during last two decades. It is believed that the existence of these two research universities have been instrumental in making industries more diverse and highly attractive, particularly in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area.

금속수소화물 금속용기로부터 출력변동에 필요한 수소공급에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Hydrogen Supply for Variation in Output from a Metal Hydride Canister)

  • The relation between temperature and hydrogen desorption on variation in output was investigated for the metal hydride canister. For this study, an AB$_5$ type alloy were chosen as a hydrogen storage material in the metal hydride canister. And application to the single proton exchange membrane fuel cell was evaluated. As the results, the hydrogen desorption was linearly increased as the temperature was risen. In addition, metal hydride canister heating was able to correspond the variation of load as power request in the PEMFC system.
