고온 프레스를 이용한 자연섬유 복합재료 제조와 계면 결합 분석 (Fabrication of Natural Fiber Composites through Hot Press and Analysis of Interfacial Adhesion)

  • Jute와 PP의 계면 접착력을 향상시키기 위해 추가적인 단계 없이 친 환경적인 공정을 통해 MAPP를 적용하였고 자연섬유의 방향성 또한 부여하여 기존에 제안된 방법보다 우수한 기계적 물성을 나타내었다. 전단 속도를 일정하게 변화시켜 기지 수지의 용융점도 측정한 결과, 압출이나 사출 성형과 같이 높은 전단력이 작용하지 않는 고온 프레스에서도 MAPP를 증량함에 따라 섬유와의 결합 가능성을 높일 수 있음을 밝혔다. 더하여 MAPP와 jute 섬유의 계면에서 관능기 간 화학 결합이 생성됨을 FT-IR을 통해 확인하였다. 인장 강도의 경우 섬유 방향에서 높은 값을 보였으며 3 wt% MAPP 함량에서 최적화 되었고 인장 강성에서도 유사한 경향을 가졌다. 굴곡 강도는 인장에 비해 상대적으로 MAPP 함량에 따른 상승효과가 미비하였는데 함침의 영향으로 판단되었다.

  • 본 논문은 차량에 사용되는 B필러의 강화재를 기존의 스틸 소재에서 CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics)와 GFRP(Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics)로 대체하여 경량화하는 것이 목표다. 이를 위해서는 무게는 감소시키면서 기존 B필러를 대체할 수 있는 구조안정성을 확보해야 한다. 기존 B필러는 스틸 아우터(outer)를 포함하여 다양한 형상의 스틸 강화재로 구성되며, 이와 같은 스틸 강화재 중 2가지의 스틸 강화재를 복합재로 대체하고자 한다. 이와 같은 스틸 강화재는 강화재 각각을 따로 제작하여 용접을 통해 결합되지만, 복합재 강화재는 패치(patch) 형태의 CFRP와 리브(rib) 구조의 GFRP를 활용하여 압축과 사출 공정을 통해 한번에 제작된다. CFRP는 B필러의 고강도부에 부착되어 측면 하중에 저항하도록 하였으며, GFRP 리브는 위상 최적화(Topology optimization) 기법을 통해 비틀림과 측면 하중을 저항하도록 설계하였다. 구조해석을 통해 기존 스틸 강화재와 비교 분석을 수행하였고, 경량화율을 산출하였다.

  • The axial piston pump by which the mechanical energy is converted into hydraulic energy has been widely used in a press, a injection molding machine and construction equipments due to the high specific power compared to the electric power system. In this paper, the one-piece shoe holder spring of the axial piston pump to simplify its structure and reduce this manufacturing cost was designed and tested. The finite element analyses using the 3-D shell element and contact element were performed to determine the thickness, width and initial angle of the shoe holder spring. Also, the compressive tests of the shoe holder spring were performed and their results were compared with those of the finite element analysis. Also, the performance and endurance limit of axial piston pump with the shoe holder spring were tested and evaluated.

A bond graph approach to energy efficiency analysis of a self-powered wireless pressure sensor

  • The energy efficiency of a self-powered wireless sensing system for pressure monitoring in injection molding is analyzed using Bond graph models. The sensing system, located within the mold cavity, consists of an energy converter, an energy modulator, and a ultrasonic signal transmitter. Pressure variation in the mold cavity is extracted by the energy converter and transmitted through the mold steel to a signal receiver located outside of the mold, in the form of ultrasound pulse trains. Through Bond graph models, the energy efficiency of the sensing system is characterized as a function of the configuration of a piezoceramic stack within the energy converter, the pulsing cycle of the energy modulator, and the thicknesses of the various layers that make up the ultrasonic signal transmitter. The obtained energy models are subsequently utilized to identify the minimum level of signal intensity required to ensure successful detection of the ultrasound pulse trains by the signal receiver. The Bond graph models established have shown to be useful in optimizing the design of the various constituent components within the sensing system to achieve high energy conversion efficiency under a compact size, which are critical to successful embedment within the mold structure.

프레스 접합성형 GMT-Sheet의 기계적 성질 (Mechanical Properties of GMT-Sheet on Press joined Molding)

  • The application as the parts of an automobile, using the property of GMT-Sheet, is increasing. In order to exchange the parts of an automobile for GMT-Sheet, at first, the establishment and joining problem of exact joining strength must be determined. We have studied it using composites which is not same each other fiber oriented condition so as to determine joining strength and joining condition of GMT-Sheet. In this study, the result of experiment of forming condition concerned joining problem of GMT-Sheet is this ; joining efficiency of GMT-Sheet, increases as lap joint length L increases. Increase of compression ration cause decrease of joining efficiency after of GMT-Sheet, joining. In the viewpoint of recycling, randomly oriented composite of GMT-Sheet is desirable more than unidirectional oriented composite. We have better design the structure so as not occur to stress centralization on the joining part.

초음파 진동을 이용한 RFID 미세패턴 성형 (Fabrication of RFID Micro-pattern using Ultrasonic Vibration)

  • In this study, we developed a process technology to fabricate RFID tag antennas using a one-sheet inlay micro-pattern forming process by press-molding RFID tag antennas on insulation sheet layers, such as polymer films, using ultrasonic longitudinal vibration. In addition, a fine pattern applicable for RFID tag antennas was manufactured using a $25{\mu}m$ thick thin-plate square wire; this is in contrast to the method that uses a conventional round wire. The developed ultrasonic indentation process can be used to fabricate fine pattern of the RFID antenna using one piece of equipment. The simplified manufacturing process technology has a shorter manufacturing time and is more economical. The developed RFID tag antenna forming technique involves pressing the $25{\mu}m$ square wire directly on the thin sheet insulation sheet of maximum thickness $200{\mu}m$, using a 60 kHz ultrasonic tool horn.

  • Bipolar plates require some specific properties such as electrical conductivity, mechanical strength, chemical stability, and low permeability for the fuel cell application. This study investigated the effects of carbon nanotube (CNT) contents and process conditions of hot press molding on the electrical and physical properties using CNT 3~7 wt% added graphite nano-composites in the curing temperatures range of 140~$200^{\circ}C$ and pressure of 200~300 kg/$cm^2$. Bulk density, hardness and flexural strength increased with increasing CNT contents, curing pressure and temperature. With the 7 wt% CNT added noncomposite, the electrical resistance improved by 30% and the flexural strength increased by 25% as compared to that without CNT at the temperature of $160^{\circ}C$ and pressure of 300 kg/$cm^2$. These properties were close to the DOE reference criteria as bulk resistance of 13 $m{\Omega}cm$ and tensile strength of 515 kg/$cm^2$.

  • The usage of ultra-precision machining is increasing by the manufacturing of precision optical elements such as camera lens, laser printer, CD player, DVD and microscope parts etc.. The WC alloy material is in wide use by mold core to improve the productivity and accuracy in manufacturing those precision parts. The WC alloy mould core can be machined effectively by the parallel grinding process which is an excellent technique for manufacturing of surface profile hard to machining materials such as the hardened metal alloy, Ceramics, Glass and so on. Magnetic assisted polishing as a final polishing process has also been utilized to obtain ultra-precision mirror surface with the elimination of traces presented on ground surface. It is able to deduce the optimal ultra-precision machining conditions of the WC alloy material from the experiment and analyses results.

Nano-precision Polishing of CVD SiC Using MCF (Magnetic Compound Fluid) Slurry

  • CVD SiC is a perfect material used for molds/dies in hot press molding of glass lens. In its fabrication process, nano-precision polishing is essential finally. For this purpose, a novel polishing method using MCF (Magnetic Compound Fluid) slurry is proposed. In this method, MCF slurry is supplied into a given gap between the workpiece and a MCF slurry carrier, and constrained within the polishing zone by magnetic forces from permanent magnet. In this paper, after an experimental rig used to actually realize the proposed method has been constructed, the fundamental polishing characteristics of CVD SiC such as the effects of process parameters including MCF slurry composition on work-surface roughness were experimentally investigated. As a result, nano-precision surface finish of CVD SiC was successfully attained with MCF slurry and the optimum process parameters for obtaining the smoothest work-surface were determined.
