  • Recently, the community developmental enthusiasm is activated and emerged with the varied developmental plans since the localization was implemented in Korea. But the anxious view of the environmental problems has been gradually heightened in the Environmentally Sound and Sustainable Developmental(ESSD). The local autonomy should listen to the public opinions because the people's anti-developmental movement could obstruct the development project in the community level. The Environment-friendly Rural Development Plan(EFRDP) pursues the development and the environmental preservation of the community at the same time. Therefore EFRDP reflects the local developmental intention and consideration of environmental preservation at the step of planning. Throughout the planning process the opinions of development and environmental preservation should be adjusted, the people's planning ability can be enhanced, and new creative alternative ideas will come out at times.

  • Recently, the korean-style houses are shedded new light. So, this study analysed what it is required and improved for preservation and vitalization of traditional korean village. At tool of analysis and systemic analytical approach, the problem of traditional korean village figured out. and then, the method and Importance of improvement are deducted. As a result of this study, it is represented to need that the preservation of architectural factors in the self korean-style house, but the more important things are deducted cooperation of citizen, political support and consideration of government at level of urban planning. There must be considered for planned conservation and development, increasing value by recreation of historicity and culture in city unit of community.

  • This study is a fundamental research to propose the preservation and management technique of urban skylines in case of Seoul City, and to find landscape resources that based on investigation of characteristics of urban landscape. The question are is designed for citizens' perception of urban landscaped. The results of this study is summarized as follows.; 1) The representative landscapes in Seoul City are chiefly Mt.Nam, Hand River, 63 Bldg, Kyungbokgung, Namdaemum, etc. The difference of the reasons of reasons of chosing for representative landscapes is that there must be a certain difference in direction of preservation and management of the landscape. 2) The ward which don't have obvious representative landscapes requires process survey and designation for representative landscapes, and technique for strenghtening them. 3) The major places of viewing the impressive or beautiful landscape are classfied into places of viewing whole Seoul City(ex;Mt.Nam, 63 Bldg, Seoul Toewr, MT.Kwanak, etc) and places of viewing Han River(ex;Youido Square, Olympic Road, Riverside parks of Han River etc). 4) For conservation and management of urban landscapes, it is requisitive for harmony of preservation and management technique between Seoul City and each ward.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate volumetric and histologic changes in edentulous alveolar ridge areas after ridge preservation using basic fibroblast growth factor-2 (bFGF-2) in combination with collagenated biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP). Methods: The experiments were performed in 6 adult male beagle dogs. The following 3 groups were created: 1) ridge preservation with bFGF-2 and collagenated BCP (experimental group), 2) ridge preservation with collagenated BCP (positive control group), and 3) a negative control group in which no ridge preservation procedure was performed. Volumetric change analysis was performed using an optical scanner and casts. Histological observations were made using light microscopy. Results: After the initial swelling subsided, the magnitude of the volumetric change in the experimental group and positive control group was smaller than in the negative control group. In the experimental group, a distinct trend was observed for the resorption of residual bone and collagen fibers at 4 weeks and for more mature bone and faster healing at 12 weeks. Conclusions: Based on the findings of the present study, bFGF-2 may be considered for use as a therapeutic molecule in ridge preservation procedures.

  • This study is to develop the operation models collection and preservation of serials only distributed online. In order to identify all of the requisite items for collection and preservation of the online serials, it conducts Delphi Technique researches with panels of experts from public institutions, organizations, and research institutions. It also deduces the 68 necessary detailed items to develop the operation models for preserving the online serials, and suggests 57 detailed items selected from the compatibility analysis with the investigation and examination of compatibility and urgency. It suggests the automated collection plan of contents with the application of RSS technology of transfer protocol to provide users the updated information from the sites where the contents and data have been constantly and frequently updated. This study strives to design the collection and preservation processes suitable for the online serials.

  • Preservation processing for two combat boots was executed through application of 3-dimensional digital technology and with use of preservation materials providing outstanding reversibility and stability. The aim of this was to establish a method to preserve the relics of fallen Korean War soldiers that had been excavated by the soldiers remains excavation corps of the Ministry of National Defense. It was possible to estimate the foot size of the soldiers who would have worn the combat boots via 3-dimensional digital scanning and modeling of the boots. In this process, the original form of the combat boots was restored through the use of 3D-printed structures. The original form was restored through a process of removing contaminants from the excavated relics and performing a conditioning treatment, and through use of an antique-color treatment after bonding and filling in the sections that had been ripped or deteriorated. Following the aforementioned preservation processes, it was possible to confirm that both of the combat boots had soles and top sections made of rubber, and portions of the top section and ankle section of the boots were made of synthetic rubber. As such, it was confirmed that these were similar to the Shoe Pac(M-1944, 12-inch) winter boots that had been manufactured for the purposes of waterproofing and/or protection against cold, and introduced in 1944. Such results confirmed that it is possible to discover the manufacturing techniques, materials, and uses of relics excavated through application of preservation processing, thereby illustrating the importance of the convergent research of scientific preservation processing and 3-dimensional digital technology.

  • Fresh gingers, harvested in Seosan, Choongcheongnam-do, were pre-treated by a washing-pasteurizing-drying process, a curing process, and non-treated, respectively. Then they were stored in a lab-scale storage room(12$^{\circ}C$, >92%RH) to investigate the effect of pre-treatment methods on the quality changes during long-term storage. Weight loss of ginger during storage showed ranges in 0.7∼4.3%, and the weight of gingers pre-treated by washing-drying process showed a tendency to change less than those treated by curing. After storage of 130 days, spoilage rates were about 20% in non-treated, 11% in curing treated, and 12% in washing-drying treated ginger,, showing the effect of pre-treatment. The final rate of sprouting was 13∼15% regardless of treatment methods. The firmness of gingers showed a tendency to decrease in stored ginger for the longer period; however, the values were ranged from 1,200 to 1,400 g/$\textrm{cm}^2$, that is hard enough to show a marketable quality. The contents of reducing sugar showed a tendency to increase with the lapse of storage time.

  • This study analyzed the digital curation process targeting the foreign 10 university libraries for the efficient utilization of the research data. The analysis was conducted by dividing into 4 parts such as the selection and ingest of data, preservation, access and use, responsibilities and management. The results indicated that research data for selection and ingest include data produced by the faculty members or can be accessible in the university or research institution. The findings also showed that the institutions use Dublin Core, MODS, and PREMIS as a metadata for preservation. In the aspect of approach and use, regulation are decided based on the law and agreement. And in the aspect of responsibility and management, most elements are divided into the management, financial, technical, physical, and personal parts and each audit or sustainability is reviewed.

  • This study was conducted to develop processing method for vinegar powder from natural vinegar for encapsulation applications. To optimize the spray drying process, experiment was designed by central composition method to find optimal conditions for manufacturing vinegar powder. The acidity, water absorption, solid content and heat stability of vinegar powder were selected as response variables. The optimal concentration of inclusion complex which was made with vinegar and ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin was determined on 30。bx. On increasing the concentration of ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin as a wall material, the quality of the vinegar was decreased. The optimum conditions of spray drying process for manufacturing vinegar powder were 188∼192$^{\circ}C$ and 500∼600 Lh$\^$ -1/ as inlet temperature and flow rate, respectively.
