연마상태가 다른 RGP렌즈의 일정기간 착용 시 렌즈착용자의 자각적 증상, 눈물막 안정 및 순목횟수 변화 (Changes in Subjective Symptom, Tear Film Stabilization and Blinking Rates when Wearing RGP Lenses with Different Polishing Conditions for Certain Period of Time)

  • 목적: 본 연구는 RGP렌즈 제조 시 렌즈물성과 렌즈착용자 요인과의 관계를 밝힌 선행연구의 후속 연구로 RGP렌즈 연마로 유발된 렌즈물성의 차이가 일정기간 착용 후 착용자가 느끼는 주관적 착용감 및 눈물막 파괴시간, 순목횟수 등에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 안질환이나 안과적 수술경험이 없는 20대 17명(남자7명, 여자 10명)의 28안에게 각기 다른 연마조건(25초, 50초 및 100초)으로 제조된 3 종류의 렌즈를 각각 1주일 이상 착용하게 하였으며 매일 설문지를 통하여 착용 중의 착용감을 조사하였고, 자각적 및 타각적 눈물막 파괴시간과 순목횟수를 측정하였다. 결과: 연마조건이 다르게 제조된 RGP렌즈를 일주일 이상 착용하였을 때 렌즈 착용자의 주관적 착용감은 렌즈 별로 불편감의 종류나 착용감 점수에서 차이를 보였으며, 특히 RGP렌즈 착용 경험자의 경우는 RGP렌즈 착용 미경험자와 비교하여 연마조건에 따른 착용감 점수의 차이가 크게 나타나는 경향을 보였다. RGP렌즈 착용 경험자의 경우 착용시간이 증가할수록 착용 미경험자에 비하여 렌즈에 더 잘 적응하는 양상을 보여 자각적 및 타각적 눈물막 파괴시간은 더욱 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, 순목횟수는 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 그러나 RGP렌즈 착용 경험 유무와는 관계없이 100초 연마렌즈 착용 시는 착용시간이 길어지더라도 자각적 및 타각적 눈물막 파괴시간은 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 결론: 이상의 결과로 렌즈물성의 최적화가 실제 착용 시에는 착용자의 자각적 및 타각적 증상에서도 동일한 효과를 내는 요인이 되지 못할 수도 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구결과로부터 현재 식약처에서 제시하고 있는 '소프트콘택트렌즈/하드콘택트렌즈의 제조 기준규격'에 따라 제조된 RGP렌즈는 실제 착용 시 착용자의 눈물막 안정화나 착용감, 렌즈 착용 경험 유무와 같은 생리적 요인에 따라 착용성공률이 달라질 수 있음을 제안할 수 있다.

개 바베시아병에 관한 연구 I. Babesia gibsoni의 시험관내 분리와 항원성상에 관한 연구 (Studies on canine babesiosis in Korea I. In vitro isolation and antigenic properties of Babesia gibsoni)

  • The present study was conducted to isolate Babesia gibsoni by culture method of the microaerophilous stationary phase(MASP) and analyse the antigenic properties of the parasite by SDS-PAGE and immunoblot. The results obtained were summarized as follows. The protozoan parasite Babesia gibsoni multiplied in canine erythrocytes in RPMI 1640 medium(pH7.0) containing 20 40% normal canine serum under the MASP condition of 5% CO2 and 95% air at $37^{\circ}C$ incubator. The levels of parasitaemia in the erythrocytes were shown more higher by exchanging the medium at 24 hours interval. Under the above condition of MASP, the percentage of parasitized erythrocytes(PPE) after incubation for 8 days increased about 14 times more than that in the initiation of the 1% infected canine erythrocyte culture. The parasites were purely isolated from the MASP culture of red blood cells collected from dogs infected with Babesia gibsoni naturally or artificially. Among the total of 36 canine(Pit-bullterier) blood samples the parasites were isolated from 17 cases(47.2%) in the MASP culture while the parasites were detected from 20 cases(56%) and 12 cases(33.3%), respectively, by indirect fluorescent antibody(IFA) test and direct light microscopy(DLM). On the other hand, Babesia gibsoni was isolated by MASP culture from 15 cases(75%) and 11 cases(92%) of positive cases of IFA and DLM, respectively. In the analysis of the erythrocytic merozoite(AEOM) antigen derived from infected dog approximately 11 antigenic bands in molecular weight of 130, 120, 97.4, 92, 80, 52, 50, 42, 36, 30 and 29 KDa were observed on SDS-PAGE. Antigenic bands in the endoerythrocytic merozoite(CEOM) antigen derived from infected erythrocyte (sediment) in MASP culture were much similar to those of AEOM bands. In the exoerythrocytic merozoite(CEEM) antigen derived from supernatant of the infected erythrocyte culture approximately 20 antigenic bands were observed and the molecular weight of the major bands among these were 140, 120, 114, 105, 96, 93, 92, 80, 60, 52, 50, 38, 36, 30, 24, 18.5 and 16 KDa. In the protein patterns of AEOM and CEOM antigen by immunoblot 15 bands were observed and these patterns were much similar between each other. The molecular weight of the major bands in the both antigens were 130, 120, 80, 60, 52, 50, 42, 30, 29, 18.5 and 16 KDa. Approximately 21 bands were observed in CEEM antigen and the molecular weight of the major bands were 140, 120, 96, 92, 85, 80, 76, 60, 52, 50, 37, 30, 24, 16 and 15 KDa. The specific antigenic bands in the artificially infected dogs were firstly observed at 3 weeks afrer inoculation of infected blood and these antigenic bands were maintained up to 18 months after inoculation. In the immunoblot of the sera of the splenectomized dogs the specific antigenic bands with the molecular weight of 93 KDa and 52 KDa, respectively, were observed weakly comparing to those of non-splenectomized dog. In immunoblot of the sera collected from the naturally infected dogs the antigenic bands were observed as same as those of artificially infected dogs while antigenic band of 29 KDa in some individual dog showed strongly. In comparison of immunoblot of the sera collected from dogs non-treated and treated with diminazene aceturate(7mg/kg, IM) after artificial infection no differences of antigenic bands were observed. In analysis of antigenic bands by digoxigenin glycan/protein double labeling, antigenic bands in the molecular weight of 106, 60 58, 36, 30 and 29 KDa were determined as glycoproteins.

잠사류의 균형 가격모색 (An Alternative Approach for Setting Equilibrium Prices of Sericultural Products)

  • 우리나라 잠업을 발전시킴에 있어 하나의 기본요소는 생산업자의 생산활동을 자극할 수 있는 가격수준이다. 본 분석에서는 잠업의 대회적 제한요인인 국제사가를 상한으로 하여 양잠과 제사부문을 균형적으로 발전시킬 수 있는 균형가격수준의 결정방법에 대한 대체안을 제시코자 하였다. 한국은행의 군민소득회계를 위한 중간집계자료를 주 자료로 각종잠사류관계 자료를 수집분석 하였으나 자료의 제한성이 컸다. 이와 같은 잠업시책연구를 위하여 과학적표본계산에 입각한 자료수집활동의 강화가 절실히 요청된다. 제한된 자료의 범위내에서 분석된 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 현재의 생산기술체제하에서 제사부문은 대규모 생산의 상대적 유리성이 인정되며 따라서 대규모의 자본집약적 생산체제로 발전될 가능성이 클 것으로 예상된다. 2. 양잠부문에서는 대규모생산의 유리성이 인정되지 않으며 따라서 현재의 소규모 노동집약적 생산체제로 유지될 것이 예상된다. 새로운 기술체제가 도입되지 않는 한 우리나라 농업이 상업적 영농으로 발전됨에 따라 수익성이 높은 여지의 상품생산으로 전환될 가능성도 없지 않다. 3. 잠사류의 가격변동에 따라 생산에 미치는 영향력은 양잠부문이 제사부문보다 크며 따라서 가격인상에 따라 국민총생산에 미치는 영향은 양잠부문이 제사부문보다 클 것이 예상된다. 4. 우리나라 잠업의 균형적 발전을 위한 잠사류의 균형가격수준은 1963∼69년의 추세로 보아 잠견가격을 8∼16%로 조정인상 하던가 또는 기준가격수준을 6∼8%로 인상하는 것이 합리적이었을 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 생사제조판매비와 잠견의 가격비가 28% 대 72%로 책정하는 것이 투입된 자원의 생산력을 일치시키는 균형가격비로 분석되었다.

  • 탁주료의 발효(醱酵)에 미치는 효모(酵母)의 종류(種類)와 담금조건(條件)의 영향을 검토(檢討)하여 다음의 결과(結果)를 얻었다. 1. 효모(酵母)의 종류(種類)와 료중의 효모수(酵母數) (1) 일단료를 $20^{\circ}C$에서 $1.5{\sim}2.5$일간(日間) 발효(醱酵)시키거나 $25^{\circ}C$$30^{\circ}C$에서 $1{\sim}2$일간(日間) 발효(醱酵)시킨 경우 효모분포(酵母分布)에 있어서 탁주효모(濁酒酵母)인 strain $D_m-1$과 청주효모(淸酒酵母)인 strain No.7사이에 별(別)로 차(差)가 없었다. (2) 이단료를 고온(高溫)($30^{\circ}C$ 또는 $35^{\circ}C$)에서 발효(醱酵)시킨 경우에는 저온발효(低溫醱酵)의 경우에 비(比)하여 료중의 효모수(酵母數)가 감소(減少)되었으나 탁주효모(濁酒酵母)인 strain $D_m-1$의 료중의 생존효모수(生存酵母數)는 청주효모(淸酒酵母)인 strain. No.7의 것보다 훨씬 많았다. 2. 효모(酵母)의 종류(種類)와 숙성료의 성분(成分) (1) 이단료를 고온(高溫) ($30^{\circ}C$ 또는 $35^{\circ}C$)에서 발효(醱酵)시킨 경우 선정(選定)한 탁주효모(濁酒酵母)(strain $D_m-1$, strain Y-1)을 使用한 숙성료의 주도(酒度)는 타효모(他酵母)(strain No.7, strain No.6, strain No.396, 및 strain No.1)를 사용(使用)한 것보다 상당(相當)히 높았다. (2) 료의 산도(酸度)는 strain $D_m-1$과 strain No.7사이에 약간 차이(差異)가 있었다. (3) 이단료를 고온(高溫) ($30^{\circ}C$ 또는 $35^{\circ}C$)에서 발효(醱酵)시킨 경우 strain $D_m-1$을 사용(使用)한 료의 Formol-N는 strain No.7을 사용(使用)한것보다 상당(相當)히 적었다. 3. 담금조건(條件)과 료의 주도(酒度) (1) 밀기울국(麴)의 첨가량(添加量)은 원료(原料)에 대하여 3%가 적당(適當)하였으며 밀가루국(麴)과 혼용(混用)할때에는 밀가루국(麴) 20%, 밀기울국(麴)은 $1{\sim}2%$를 사용(使用)하는 것이 적당(適當)하였다. (2) 일단료의 담금농도(濃度)를 보통(普通)것의 2배(倍)로 희석(稀釋)하여도 효모(酵母)의 증식(增殖)에 이상(異常)이 없었다. (3) 담금용수(用水) 180ml에 대하여 밀가루 $80{\sim}140g$를 사용(使用)한 경우 원료(原料)밀가루량(量)의 증가(增加)에 따라 료의 주도(酒度)가 대략(大略) 비례적(比例的)으로 올랐다. (4) 현행(現行)의 이단식(二段式)담금법(法)보다 삼단식(三段式)담금법(法)이 유리(有利)하다고 인정(認定)되었다.

  • 석유에 효모를 길러 식량 내지 사료로 이용할것을 목적으로 전국 각지의 100여점의 토양시료로부터 400여주의 탄화수소이용 효모균주를 분리하고 그 중 가장 균체수율이 좋은 균주를 선정하여 동정 하였다. 그 균주의 석유탄화수소 배지에서의 배양최적조건, 생육경과 및 균체조성을 조사하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 우수균주로 신정된 효모는 Candida curvata-SNU 70으로 동정되었다. 2. 선정호모의 적정 증식배지조성은 다음과같다 Light Gas Oil 30ml, $(NH_2)_2CO$ 400mg, $(NH_4)_2\;SO_4$ 100mg, $KH_2PO_4$ 670mg, $Na_2HPO_4{\cdot} 12H_2O$ 330mg. $MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$ 500mg, $CaCO_3$ 3g, Yeast Extract 50mg, Tween 20 0.05ml, Tap Water 1000ml. 3. 선정효모의 배양조건은 pH $5.5{\sim}7.0,\;30^{\circ}C$, 및 충분한 통기조건이 적당함을 알았다. 4. 유가법은 특히 10% 이상의 고농도배양에서 효과를 보였다. 5. 선정효모, Candida curvata-SNU 70는 lag phase가 16시간 까지이고 다음 28시간까지가 대수기임을 알 수 있었으며, 대수기에서 비증식율, ${\mu}x$$0.22hr^{-1}$이고 doubling time은 3.2시간이었다. 6. 얻어진 최적조건에서 2일간 배양시켜 Light Gas Oil에 대한 균체수율 16.1%를 얻었으며 건조세포의 단백질함량은 48.4%였다.

밀 품질평가 현황과 검사제도 (Current Wheat Quality Criteria and Inspection Systems of Major Wheat Producing Countries)

  • On the purpose to suggest an advanced scheme in assessing the domestic wheat quality, this paper reviewed the inspection systems of wheat in major wheat producing countries as well as the quality criteria which are being used in wheat grading and classification. Most wheat producing countries are adopting both classifications of class and grade to provide an objective evaluation and an official certification to their wheat. There are two main purposes in the wheat classification. The first objectives of classification is to match the wheat with market requirements to maximize market opportunities and returns to growers. The second is to ensure that payments to glowers aye made on the basis of the quality and condition of the grain delivered. Wheat classes has been assigned based on the combination of cultivation area, seed-coat color, kernel and varietal characteristics that are distinctive. Most reputable wheat marketers also employ a similar approach, whereby varieties of a particular type are grouped together, designed by seed coat colour, grain hardness, physical dough properties, and sometimes more precise specification such as starch quality, all of which are genetically inherited characteristics. This classification in simplistic terms is the categorization of a wheat variety into a commercial type or style of wheat that is recognizable for its end use capabilities. All varieties registered in a class are required to have a similar end-use performance that the shipment be consistent in processing quality, cargo to cargo and year to year, Grain inspectors have historically determined wheat classes according to visual kernel characteristics associated with traditional wheat varieties. As well, any new wheat variety must not conflict with the visual distinguishability rule that is used to separate wheats of different classes. Some varieties may possess characteristics of two or more classes. Therefore, knowledge of distinct varietal characteristics is necessary in making class determinations. The grading system sets maximum tolerance levels for a range of characteristics that ensure functionality and freedom from deleterious factors. Tests for the grading of wheat include such factors as plumpness, soundness, cleanliness, purity of type and general condition. Plumpness is measured by test weight. Soundness is indicated by the absence or presence of musty, sour or commercially objectionable foreign odors and by the percentage of damaged kernels that ave present in the wheat. Cleanliness is measured by determining the presence of foreign material after dockage has been removed. Purity of class is measured by classification of wheats in the test sample and by limitation for admixtures of different classes of wheat. Moisture does not influence the numerical grade. However, it is determined on all shipments and reported on the official certificate. U.S. wheat is divided into eight classes based on color, kernel Hardness and varietal characteristics. The classes are Durum, Hard Red Spring, Hard Red Winter, Soft Red Winter, Hard White, soft White, Unclassed and Mixed. Among them, Hard Red Spring wheat, Durum wheat, and Soft White wheat are further divided into three subclasses, respectively. Each class or subclass is divided into five U.S. numerical grades and U.S. Sample grade. Special grades are provided to emphasize special qualities or conditions affecting the value of wheat and are added to and made a part of the grade designation. Canadian wheat is also divided into fourteen classes based on cultivation area, color, kernel hardness and varietal characteristics. The classes have 2-5 numerical grades, a feed grade and sample grades depending on class and grading tolerance. The Canadian grading system is based mainly on visual evaluation, and it works based on the kernel visual distinguishability concept. The Australian wheat is classified based on geographical and quality differentiation. The wheat grown in Australia is predominantly white grained. There are commonly up to 20 different segregations of wheat in a given season. Each variety grown is assigned a category and a growing areas. The state governments in Australia, in cooperation with the Australian Wheat Board(AWB), issue receival standards and dockage schedules annually that list grade specifications and tolerances for Australian wheat. AWB is managing "Golden Rewards" which is designed to provide pricing accuracy and market signals for Australia's grain growers. Continuous payment scales for protein content from 6 to 16% and screenings levels from 0 to 10% based on varietal classification are presented by the Golden Rewards, and the active payment scales and prices can change with market movements.movements.

재래산양의 체세포 핵이식에 의한 복제수정란의 체외발달에 관한 연구 (Studies on the In Vitro Development of Cloned Embryos by Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer in Korean Native Goats)

  • 본 연구는 재래산양에서 복제 수정란의 생산효율을 향상시키기 위한 기초 자료를 제시하고자 체세포 핵이식을 실시하여 공핵세포의 종류, 핵이식란의 활성화 처리 방법 및 수핵난자의 조건이 체외발달율에 미치는 영향을 조사, 검토하여 핵이식란 생산을 위한 최적의 조건을 규명하고자 실시하였다. 공핵세포의 종류에 따른 핵이식란의 체외발달율은 융합이 이루어진 핵이식란의 활성화 처리 후 분할율은 귀 유래 섬유아세포를 공핵세포로 사용하였을 때가 $40.5\%$로서 태아 유래 섬유아세포를 공핵세포로 사용하였을 때의 $55.5\%$와 유의적인 차이가 없었다. 또한 상실배 또는 배반포기로의 발달율도 각각 $6.7\%$$16.0\%$로서 유의적인 차이가 없었다. 핵이식란의 활성화 방법에 따른 체외발달율은 ionomycin+6-DMAP 처리를 하였을 때 분할율은 $79.0\%$로서 전기자극을 주었을 때의 $9.5\%$보다는 유의적(P<0.05)으로 높았다. 상실배 또는 배반 포기로의 발달율도 ionomycin+6-DMAP 처리를 하였을 때는 $15.6\%$가 발달하였으나, 전기 자극을 주었을 때는 4-세포기 이후로의 발달이 전혀 이루어지지 않았다. 체세포 핵이식란은 단위발생란에 비하여 분할율$(66.1\%\;vs\;59.18\%)$ 및 상실배 또는 배반포배로의 발달율$(19.0\%\;vs\;0.0\%)$이 유의적 (P<0.05)으로 낮았다. 단위발생란의 분할율은 체내 성숙난자에서 $86.8\%$로서 난포란의 $69.0\%$보다는 유의적(P<0.05)으로 높았다 단위발생란의 상실배 또는 배반포기로의 발달율에 있어서도 체내 성숙난자$(50.0\%)$가 난포란$(23.6\%)$보다 유의적 (p.<0.05)으로 발달율이 높았다. 이상의 결과로 볼 때 재래산양의 체세포를 이용한 복제수정란의 생산효율을 향상시키기 위해서는 다수의 난자 확보를 위한 과배란처리 방법의 개선, 난포란의 이용효율 개선 및 활성화 처리방법 등이 확립되어야 하며, 후기배로의 발달율 향상을 위해서는 최적의 체외 배양조건 확립이 시급한 것으로 생각된다.

수관사진법을 이용한 소나무-굴참나무 천연림에 있어서의 광 조건 연구 (A Study on Light Condition between Pinus densiflora and Quercus variabilis Natural Mixed Forest Stands by Using the Hemispherical Photo Method)

  • 본 연구는 중부지방에 많이 분포하고 있는 소나무-굴참나무 혼효림과 각각의 단순림을 대상으로 사면별(북, 서, 남) 입지조건에 따른 임분 통계량과 천연갱신에 대한 광 조건을 비교 분석하여 합리적인 조림 무육 방안을 제시하기 위한 기초 자료를 얻고자 수행되었다. 조사지의 소나무-굴참나무 혼효림과 각각의 단순림을 대상으로 남경사면, 북경사면 그리고 서경사면별로 입지와 생육분포를 고려하여 표본점을 설정하였으며, 표본점의 형태는 원형으로 하였으며, 표본점내에 평균 30~40본이 포함되도록 표본점의 크기를 0.05 ha(반경 12.62 m)로 하였다. 표본점의 수는 사면별로 상 . 중 . 하부를 구분하여 소나무 단순림 9개, 소나무-굴참나무 혼효림 8개, 참나무 단순림 6개로 총 23개를 조사하였다. 또한 임분내 광 조건은 어안(fish-eye)lens(180$^{\circ}$)를 이용한 crown-photo 방법과 PAR-sensor를 이용하여 각 Plot에 대한 나지와의 비교를 통하여 임분내 상대광도를 측정하였다. 소나무 단순림의 울폐도(75.5%)는 혼효림(90.9%)과 굴참나무 단순림(93%)보다 훨씬 적게 나타났으며, 임분내 상대광도는 이와 반대의 경향을 나타냈다. 또한 혼효림에 있어서 울폐도는 북사면에서 남사면으로 가면서 점차 감소하는 경향과 이와 반대로 임분내 상대광도는 증가하는 경향을 나타냈다. 임분내 상대광도와 임분 prameter와의 관계를 분석한 결과, 단면적과 N/ha의 증가에 따라 임분내 상대광도는 감소하는 경향을 나타냈다. 굴참나무의 천연갱신 수는 임분내 상대광도의 증가에 따라 함께 증가하는 직선회귀 관계에 놓여 있었으며, 특히 남향의 혼효림에서 굴참나무의 천연갱신이 가장 높았다. 그러나 소나무의 천연갱신은 전혀 발견하지 못했으며, 이는 임분 내 상대광도가 4~8%로 매우 낮고, 낙엽충의 깊이가 10 cm 이상으로 두껍기 때문에 종자가 발아 할 수 없는 것으로 사료된다. 따라서 소나무 천연갱신의 결정적 인자로는 임분 내의 광 조건과 낙엽 . 부식충의 두께가 결정적인 요소로 판단된다.

  • This study enrolled one thousand five hundred twenty one clients that were receiving home care services at five health centers and a home care services center in the city of Taejon from November 17 through December 7, 1997. The purpose of this study was to analyze satisfaction levels, general characteristics and efficacies, of the client served home care. The main results were as follows; The age group of most of the subjects was 70-79 years: 76.9% of them were female and 87.3% were over 65 years. In education variables, over 90% of the clients were below primary school. In marital status variables, 63.4% of them had no spouse, 57.5% of them were widows and widowers. In living arrangement variables, alone(35.8%) was the most. In insurance status variables, medical aid(69.9%) was the most. In household income variables, below 000 won(72.6%) was the most. In hospitalization variables, 53% of the clients had no hospitalization. The satisfaction level of home care service of male and female was similar. The older the age, the higher the satisfaction level. The satisfaction level of the group having religion was higher than the group having no religion and the Christianity group had the highest satisfaction level(p<0.001). In education variables, the over high school group was the highest satisfaction level(p<0.01). In living arrangement variables, the other (sisters or neighbors etc.) group indicated the highest satisfaction level(p<0.001). In insurance status variables, the other group(except for medical aid) was the highest satisfaction level(p<0.001). In household income variables, below 390,000 won was the highest satisfaction level(p<0.001). In hospitalization variables, 'over 4 times' group indicated the highest satisfaction level (p<0.01). Home care took place more in health centers than in home care services center. In frequency of home care per month three times was the most. In opinion of home care frequency per month 82.8% of the people answered 'proper'. A lot of present illness was neuralgia, arthritis, digestive disease, hypertension & CVA. In contents of home care services variables, education & counselling was the most and medication was second. In duration of illness variables, over 10 years was the most. In place of treatment before home care service variables, hospital(57%) was the most. In illness condition after home care variables, 'moderate' was the most and 'much better'(85.5%) was second. In help of home care variables, 'much help'(71.5%) was the most and 'moderate'(28.1%) was second. In contents of counselling variables, treatment method of illness was the most. Home care services center indicated higher level of satisfaction than health center(p<0.001). In opinion of home care frequency per month variables, 'less' was the highest satisfaction level (p<0.001). In duration of illness variables, below one year was the highest and over 10 years was second(p<0.001). In place of treatment before home care service variables, health center was the highest (p<0.001). In illness condition after home care variables 'much better' was the highest and 'worse' was second (p<0.001). I n help of home care variables, 'much help' was the highest (p<0.001). In contents of counselling variables, cause of illness was the highest(p<0.001). According to the 14 items which consisted of 3 point scales the total level of satisfaction of home care service was very high, with total mean score 36. According to the above results, most clients taking home care services are satisfied. However, organization and a fund are required to support high quality home care services to those who need them. Furthermore, a follow-up survey should be accomplished to evaluate the status of clients.

우리나라대학의 학교보건관리에 관한 실태조사 (A Study on the School Health Services in the Universities, Colleges and Junior Colleges)

  • The present study is to provide information for the improvement of school health services through research on the current condition of its organization and practice in universities, colleges and junior colleges. The scope of this study is consisted of four components including health organizations/units, school health services, environmental sanitation and health education for the 30 universities, the 20 colleges and the 32 junior colleges in Korea. The major findings are summarized as follows: (1) Among the sampled schools, around 73% of them have the health service organization/unit. When we break down health service organization/unit into the types by the level of school, around 73% of the universities have formal organization called "health center" and 20.0% of them have an informal organization called "health room". For the colleges level, 30.0% of them have the "health center" and 40.0% of them have the "health room". The figure of junior colleges is a quite different from universities and colleges, 56.3% of junior colleges have the "health room" only but the other have no service organization at all. (2) It was found that only 22.0% of 82 schools have the health committee for the school health services. It might be necessary to have a kind of expert committee to establish an annual health service program, budget and health policy in the school. (3) Approximately 29% of those schools having formal health organizations/units appointed directors as a medical persons. 13.4% of the sampled schools are appointed doctors (including the dentists) at health service organization/unit, 9.8% are appointed pharmacist and 65.9% are appointed nurses. Therefore, the data imply that the school health services are depending mainly on nurses. (4) The major activities of school health services are covering primary medical care (84.1%), health counseling (72.0%), physical examination (68.3%), vaccination (58.5%), tuberculosis control (54.9%), parasite control (29.3%) and dental health case(9.8%). Also 69.5% of the schools have the program on the environmental sanitation and the health education program. (5) In regard to health budget taking account of 34 schools, approximately 92% of them have less than 5,000 won per students and only 8.8% of them have more 10,000 won per students. At the average health budget per students is 4089.8 won in universities, 1617.1 won in colleges and 475.0 won in junior colleges. (6) The students enjoy the benifit of medical insurance at 11.0% of 82 schools surveyed. They are all universities. (7) The study found that 56 universities, colleges and junior colleges provide the annual physical examination. Only 21.4% of them have provided it for all students and school employees. (8) 64.3% of the 56 schools surveyed keep a record of the regular physical examinations. Records must be utilized as the basic data for the evaluation of the student's health condition and so the individual student is encouraged to take care of his own health. (9) At the 59 schools which practice health counseling, the main concerns of the counsellees are venereal disease, tuberculosis and psychoneurosis. This shows the need to practice health education in the area of preventive medicine. (10) 69.5% of the 82 universities, colleges and junior colleges surveyed are concerned with supervision of the environmental sanitation in their school, but non-professionals are in charge at 70.1% of them. This indicates negligence in environmental sanitation. (11) 53.7% of the 82 schools responded that they have no special instructive measure for the students' health and 54.9% are found to be negative in the use of a health education method. This reveals a problem. They are not positive to the recognition of their function as the initiative organization for the students' health. (12) The supplementary education for the faculty of the school health services is executed only at 8.5% of all the schools surveyed.
