We demonstrate novel soft-lithographic techniques for preparing patterned liquid crystal (LC) orientations at an alignment layer. By controlling patterning conditions such as wetting property and operating temperature depending on polymeric materials, multi-directional or modified LC alignment conditions can be simply achieved.

The final aim of South Korean policies on North Korea and reunification of Korean peninsula is to reflect the direction and the form which South Korean authority has been pursuing. To achieve this aim, we must establish the forms of reunification and continue to prepare for contingency plans while focusing our effort to those policies. In pursuing peaceful reunification, the national security should not be neglected. Moreover, the policing policy is one of the important national security policies. In order to draw up more effective policing policies in a reunified state, this dissertation establishes some preparing measures on policing conditions and expected problems resultion from the reunification of Korean peninsula after studying similar problems in formerly divided countries. The chapter one shows the direction of reunification policy. The chapter two looks some policing problems in formerly divided countries The chapter three studys the expected policing conditions and preparing measures after the reunification of Korean peninsula The chapter four reposes some reasonal solutions for peaceful reunification.

This study analyzes the river system and water quality conditions of Bukchun in order to establish a basic plan for Preparing a natural learning and experimental area of environmental ecosystem in Bukchun, Gyeongju. It also tries to establish an integrated plan for water management of Bukchun stream based on water contaminants. In addition, after analysing the water quality at 13 points during the non-rainy season, the effluent of municipal wastewater was of relatively better quality with I ~ II grade, below the water quality standard of the river, except in points near Samsung apartments. However, analysing the Hyeongsangang and the effluent of Bomunho and Duckdongdam in rainy season, the water quality was II ~ III grade according to environmental standard. The water Quality of those samples was strongly dependent of non-point source.

This study begins with investigation of the purpose and background of the International convention on Standards of Training, Sertification and Watchkeeping for seafarers 1978, London(STCW) which will be put into force on and after 28th April 1984. Author tried to confirm those common points on requirement of the qualifications between the radio officer regulated it. the STCW Convention and radio communications between the radio officer regulated in the STCW convention and radio communication operator's general certificate in the Radio Regulations annexed to the International Telecommunication convention. Then, Japanese communications administration is taken as a model for the comparative analysis, as Japan and Korea have many resembling aspects, especially legal and social aspects. Therefore, as one of urgent tasks of Korean Communications Administration preparing for the STCW convention, Istressed on partial amendment of the Korean Radio Regulatory Act.

The National Archives & Records Service of the Korea stated clearly the nature of the 'Korean Disposition Schedule' as records retention schedule which prescribe from creation to disposition of the records. With a point of this view, this study examine a definition and preparing procedures about the records retention schedule that is sub-system of the records management and present a way how understand and evaluate the 'Korean Disposition Schedule.'

Coumarins are ubiquitous in plant kingdom and have been used as antitumor, antifungals, anticoagulants, insecticides. Chalcones are also widespread in plant kingdom and have been known to possess diverse biological activities; antibacterial, antifungal, antitumor and anti-inflammatory, etc. As they are considered as important natural products, numerous synthetic approaches have been reported up to the present. We devise a new selective method of preparing dihydrocoumarins and chalcones from aryl cinnamates by the selection of reagents. Dihydrocoumarin derivatives were prepared selectively by using intramolecular cyclization catalyzed by p-toluene sulfonic acid. Also, chalcones were prepared by Fries-rearrangement catalyzed by $TiCl_4$. This method can be used for preparing various coumarin & chalcone compounds.

Recently, major public owner and general contractors in Korea are actively preparing and improving BIM manuals and guidelines to effectively apply BIM technology in construction projects. These guideline has a purpose to define the scope of the applying BIM technology to each construction phase and to explain the minimum technology guidance required for the initial stage. In situations where BIM data are to be submitted within a limited time and cost at the design stage, a BIM data preparing process should be carried out in advance to meet the BIM interoperability between the pre and post of construction precess. In this research, we propose the scope of the BIM guidelines to meet and to be considered for the BIM based review of constructability and economic evaluation of Apartment.

Recent rapid progress in the photovoltaic industry has seriously been retarded by limited supply of polysilicon used as the feedstock for silicon wafer-based solar cells. It is thus believed that development of a competitive process for preparing polysilicon with the quality required for solar cells can greatly enhance the competitiveness and extent of the photovoltaic application. Technologies currently available for preparing the silicon feedstock are reviewed with the recent fluidized bed silicon deposition process being discussed in more details in terms of key technical barriers.

In this study, an enhanced marriage preparation program is introduced. The program has recently been systematized through adjusting and updating different existing marriage preparation programs. The proposed program consists of six main sessions, organized into three 2-session sets. Through sessions 1 and 2, couples preparing for marriage are to focus on marital life by planning their lives as husbands and wives. They also discuss how to build a happy marriage. In sessions 3 and 4, the couples are to discuss how to organize their activities so 3s to improve the quality of their relationships. Finally, in sessions 5 and 6, the couples learn practical skills necessary for a happy marriage. This Program has been implemented at NGOs to Promote wholesome wedding ceremonies and healthy marriages for single men and women who are preparing to get married. This program should be developed further to help build strong families.
