푸드 색채 감성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Sensitivity of Food Color)

  • The objective of this study is to stimulate the satisfaction on food color sensitivity through objectifying the color sensitivities on customer's foods. The preference analysis on food sensitivity adjectives is measured on 5-point scale by preferring degree on each adjectives. And it is calculated on the sensitivities for the SD method that is used for finding whether it is strong or not on food image stimulus which was photographed on the 8 restaurants in Seoul. We found the outcome as follows. The most preferred sensitivity adjective is 'cleanness', and the worst preferred one is 'unshapliness'. It is differed on genders by $95\%$ confidence interval. The attractiveness, simplicity, richness, comfort and elegance are derived from the result of factor analysis for food color sensitivity. The yellow or orange color foods are main one for the simplicity and comfort. The orange color food are fit on richness and elegance factor, and it will be most effective if choosing the color more similar to brown one.

선호감성 어휘분석을 통한 남녀 대학생의 감성 유형화 (Grouping Preferred Sensations of College Students Using Sementic Differential Methods of Sensation Words)

  • 98가지 감성 형용사를 수집하여 176명의 남녀 대학생을 대상으로 SD법에 의해 선호도를 조사한 결과, 개인차가 큰 감성어휘에는 '매니쉬, 수공예적인, 귀족적인, 섹시'등의 중간정도의 선호도를 나타내는 감성어휘들이 포함되었으며, 개인차가 적은 어휘로는 '건조한, 인공적인'등의 비선호감성과 '멋스런, 유연한'등의 선호감성이 있었다. 선호감성에 의해 남녀 대학생들을 유형화시키면 남녀 대학생의 선호감성은 크게 10가지로 나타났다. 대부분의 대학생들이 '캐주얼파'였으나(32.4%), 이는 다시 '비장식 개성 캐주얼파, 역동적 쿨개성 캐주얼파, 정성청결 캐주얼파'로 세분화되었다. 다음으로 많은 대학생들이 '로맨틱 모던파'(21.4%)였으며, 그 다음으로는 '단순 내추럴파'(17.3%)였다. 또한 '클래식파(9.2%-수공예 로맨틱 클래식파, 획일적 클래식파)', '비표현파'(8.7%). '호화개성 복고파'(7.4%), '민족감성 선호파'(4.6%) 등이 있었다. 감성어휘와 대학생의 집단들은 크게 두 개의 선호감성축(정적-동적, 경량-중량)을 중심으로 가시적으로 함께 그룹화/도식화될 수 있었다.

Pulsar observations in mm-wavelengths

  • Galactic radio pulsar population is diverse. So far about 2300 radio pulsars are known in the Milky Way, in addition to Large and Small Magellanic Clouds. Radio pulsar observations at a few hundreds MHz up to ~10 GHz have been active and they are proved to be fruitful. Low frequencies are preferred mainly because of the steep ratio spectrum of pulsars. However, developments in pulsar backends (e.g. a wide-band spectrometer) and improved system sensitivities make it possible to observe pulsars at higher frequencies using large, single-dish telescopes up to ~18 GHz. Going forward, mm-wavelength observations is expected to open a new window in pulsar astronomy. In particular, frequencies well above ~15 GHz are pre-requisite to detect pulsars in the Galactic Center where radio pulsed signals are severely scattered by interactions with the interstellar medium. Recent discoveries strongly imply that there are subsets of pulsars with an apparently flat spectrum, such as magnetars. In April 2014, the first pulsar (magnetar) was discovered only 3 arcmin from Sgr A*, PSR J1745-2900. We will present a brief overview on pulsar populations focusing on those observable at high frequencies. We will also discuss prospects of pulsar observations in mm-wavelengths and how we can utilize the Korean VLBI network.

  • Sound quality is becoming a major concern in optical disc drives (ODD). In order to improve the sound quality of slim type ODDs, we changed lead screw pitch and firmware algorithm in the seek mode. To evaluate the sound quality, the PCM (Paired Comparison Method) was adopted and the result was compared with the time-averaged loudness spectrum. Sound signals were also recorded and modified by increasing or decreasing selected frequency bands to verify their sensitivities to the sound quality. As a result of jury test, preferred frequency bands are associated with the time-averaged loudness spectrum.

농촌지역 중.노년의 맛 감지능과 건강위험인자와의 관계 (Association between Risk Factors for Health and Taste Perceptions of Middle-aged and Elderly People Living in Rural Areas)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between taste perceptions and risk factors for health of Korean elderly living in rural areas. Recognition thresholds for four basic tastes, drug consumption, BMI, fasting blood glucose, serum total cholesterol, serum triglyceride, systolic blood pressure, and diastolic blood pressure were assessed in 176 males and 312 females aged between 50 and 88 years. For the recognition threshold of the four basic tastes, alcohol drinking did not influence their sensitivities, but the alcohol drinking group preferred a higher pleasant concentration of NaCl than did the non-alcohol drinking group. However, smoking significantly decreased sensitivities of the four basic tastes. For the pleasant concentration of NaCl, the smoking group tended to prefer a higher concentration than the non-smoking group. Drug consumption, fasting blood glucose, serum total cholesterol, and serum triglycerides did not have a significant correlation to the sensitivity of the four basic tastes and preference of salty solution. Systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure may have been positively correlated with the pleasant concentration of NaCl but did not correlate with the recognition thresholds of NaCl and sucrose. Further, systolic blood pressure was negatively correlated with the recognition thresholds of caffeine, whereas diastolic blood pressure was negatively correlated with the recognition thresholds of caffeine and citric acid. The finding that the risk factors for health correlated with taste perception has diagnostic and practical implications for health promotion for the elderly.

LED 기반 백색 조명의 색온도 및 연색지수에 따른 감성 평가 (Sensibility Evaluation of Color Temperature and Rendering Index to the LED-Based White Illumination)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 백색 LED 조명의 광학적 특성을 분석하고 그 특성에 따라 반응하는 학생과 교사들의 감성 반응을 평가하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 이 연구에서는 백색 LED모듈 5개를 시제품으로 만들어 광학적 특성을 측정하고 감성 평가용 모형을 제작하여 감성 반응을 평가하여 분석하였다. 감성 평가에 이용된 평가 방법은 의미미분법이고 선정된 문항은 16문항이며, 이 문항의 신뢰성과 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 예비 실험을 통하여 신뢰도 분석과 타당도 분석을 하였다. 이 과정에서 4가지 요인을 추출하였는데 제 1요인은 활동성, 제 2요인은 안정감, 제 3요인은 역량성, 제 4요인은 감성이미지 요인이라고 명명하였다. 색온도에 따른 감성 평가의 결과는 활동성과 역량성 요인에서는 색온도가 높은 조명을 선호하였으며 , 안정감 요인에서는 색온도가 낮은 조명을 선호하였다. 감성이미지 요인에서는 색온도와 관련 없이 5800K인 청색 계통의 조명을 선호하였다. 연색지수에 따른 감성 평가의 결과는 활동성, 안정감, 감성이미지 요인에서는 고연색 조명을 선호하였으며, 역량성 요인에서는 중 연색 조명을 선호하였다.

p-CuO/n-ZnO 이종접합 박막 구조의 수소 가스 특성 평가 (Hydrogen Gas Sensor Performance of a p-CuO/n-ZnO Thin-film Heterojunction)

  • Hydrogen (H2) gas is widely preferred for use as a renewable energy source owing to its characteristics such as environmental friendliness and a high energy density. However, H2 can easily reverse or explode due to minor external factors. Therefore, H2 gas monitoring is crucial, especially when the H2 concentration is close to the lower explosive limit. In this study, metal oxide materials and their p-n heterojunctions were synthesized by a hydrothermal-assisted dip-coating method. The synthesized thin films were used as sensing materials for H2 gas. When the H2 concentration was varied, all metal oxide materials exhibited different gas sensitivities. The performance of the metal oxide gas sensor was analyzed to identify parameters that could improve the performance, such as the choice of the metal oxide material, effect of the p-n heterojunctions, and operating temperature conditions of the gas sensor. The experimental results demonstrated that a CuO/ZnO gas sensor with a p-n heterojunction exhibited a high sensitivity and fast response time (134.9% and 8 s, respectively) to 5% H2 gas at an operating temperature of 300℃.
