A Research on the Preference to Textiles for Slacks of College Students (슬랙스용 소재에 대한 대학생의 선호도 조사연구)

  • This research was designed to investigate the preference to textiles for slacks of college students. 105 subjects majored in fashion design were surveyed. Subjects selected three favorite materials among 120 samples presented in swatch book and weighted frequency and percentage were added by order. The extent of preference was compared by season and sex. The results of this study were as follows: 1. College students preferred twill cotton Drill foremost as a textile for spring and fall season. 2. Plain linen Crash was the most preferred material for summer. 3. Cotton Corduroy was the most preferred textile for winter. 4. In thickness and weight, textiles for winter were thicker and heavier than those of other seasons. 5. In fiber content, natural fiber such as wool were preferred for all seasons. 6. In weave of textiles, twill weave fabric was preferred for spring fall and winter season, and plain weave for summer. 7. College students preferred plain texture materials foremost and navy blue and black color was preferred for textiles for slacks. 8. Girl students preferred cotton fabrics and boys preferred wool fabric for slacks. Also, girls generally preferred thinner fabrics than those of boys.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify preteen girls and their mothers' apparel image preference and apparel purchase behavior. This study was particularly interested in verifying the influencing factors of plus size preteen girls' apparel choice by investigating the correlations between preteens' physical characteristic and their apparel related variables. Data were obtained from the questionnaire by 190 preteen girls and 120 mothers. The influential power of preteens on apparel purchase decision was greater than that of their mothers, and their preferred apparel images were comfortable/neat, cute/girlish, and mature/chic. Comparing to preteen girls, their mothers preferred comfortable/neat and cute/girlish images to mature/chic apparel image. Their physical maturity levels were significantly correlated with apparel image preference. Moreover, plus size preteen girls' interests in appearance and clothing was higher than that of normal weight preteen girls, this implied potentiality in apparel market for plus size preteen.

The Quality Characteristics of Jeung-pyun Using High Yielding Type Rice and Processing Type Rice (다수성 및 가공용 쌀 품종을 이용한 증편의 품질특성)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the quality characteristics of Jeung-pyun using high yielding type rice (Dasan, Keunseom) and processing type rice (Daerip, Seolgang, Yangjo) for applying a new processes in rice food industry. The weight, volume, specific volume and expansion of Jeung-pyun were the highest in Dasan. The shapes of cross section showed that the air cell of Jeung-pyun made from Dasan and Daerip were smaller and more regular than Keunseom, Seolgang, and Yangjo. The Jeung-pyun of Daerip was the highest in L value, springiness, cohesiveness and chewiness, Keunseom was the highest in a value and hardness; Yangjo was the highest in b value, adhesiveness and gumminess. Jeung-pyun of Dasan was shown, through sensory evaluation, to be the highest in flavor, appearance and overall preference. The Jeung-pyun of Daerip was the highest in color and taste preference, while Seolgang was the highest in texture preference.

A Study on the Utilization Pattern and the Perception of Housewives about Edible Oil & Fats (주부들의 식용유지류 이용의식 및 사용실태)

  • This study was carried out to obtain the information concerning the perception and utilization patter of the housewives about the edible oil and fats. Data were obtained through questionnaires from 442 housewives in Chonbuk area. The eating frequency of food that used oil & fat was affected by age, residing area and educational level. family's preference score of food that used oil & fats was 3.34 point in the 5 point scale. 47% of the subjects answered that the intake rate of oil & fats had more from vegetable oils than animal sauces. Most of the subjects had negative response such as increased cholesterol and body weight for psychological state after the intake of food that used oil & fats. The main reason why some housewives did not use frequently oil & fats was inconvenience of tidying up. The kinds of the oil & fat used frequently were soybean oil, sesame oil, com oil and perilla oil. The nutrition knowledge score rotated to oil & fat was 7.62 point in the 10 point scale. The eating frequency of food that used oil & fats and its preference were positively correlated. These results indicate that the housewives haute a widespread tendency to pursue a health and convenience in the utilization of edible oil & fats.

  • In this paper, a new program recommendation system is proposed to recommend user preferred VOD program in IPTV environment. A proposed system is implemented with collaborative filtering method. For a user profile which describes user program preference, a program preference, sub-genre preference, and US(user similarity) weight of the user neighborhood is averaged and updated every week. In order to evaluate system performance, real 24-weeks cable TV watching data provided by Nilson Research Corp. are modified to fit for IPTV broadcasting environment and the simulation result shows quite comparative quality of recommendation. The experimental results optimum performance when user similarity based weighting, five person per group and five recommendation programs are used.

The Study on Korean Youth's Status of Beverage Consumption and Preference of beverage in Chunnam Area (전남지역 일부 청소년들의 음료 섭취 실태 및 기호도에 관한연구)

  • This study was undertaken to investgate status of veverage consumption and preference of beverage among growning generation in order to provide basic knowledge for nutrition education to be able to settle right food habit of Korean youth. Four hundred and sixty middle and high school students in Chunnam area were asked to fill out the questionaries. The results were summarized as follows : The subjects usually drank total 671.6ml/day, water 304.1ml soft drink 156.9 ml milk 110.5 ml, fruit juice 36.2 ml. vegetable juice 15.5ml coffee & tea 32.9 ml and Korean tea 26.5 ml The male drank 685.5 ml and the female drank 654.9 ml. The average amount of beverage consumption per a unit weight was total 28.5 ml and middle shool students drank more than high school students but it was about the same between the male and female. The students who have snacks very often drank more than those who sometimes have. The students who like a meat-diet drank much more than those who like a vegetable or mixed-diet, And the students who eat bread often drank more than those who have rice every mealtime. The preferences of beverage were high in orange juice water milk, lactobacillus, sikhea, while some Koran and alcohoic beverage were less preferred.

  • LBS services is a user-centric location based information service, where its importance has been discussed as an essential engine in an Ubiquitous Age. We aimed to develop an ontology reasoning system that enables users to derive recommended results suitable through selection standard reasoning according to various users' preferences. In order to achieve this goal, we designed the Geo-ontology system which enabled the construction of personal characteristics of users, knowledge on personal preference and knowledge on spatial and geographical preference. We also integrated a function of reasoning relevant information through the construction of Cost Value ontology using multi-criteria decision making by giving weight according to users' preference.

  • This study has been made to examine the basic information, the preferences of material quality, and the demand performance of clothing for underwear materials between atopic patients and non-patients. The measurement tool was a questionnaire. For statistical analysis of data, crosstabs, ${\chi}^2$-test, t-test and ANOVA through SPSS for Windows(version 14.0) were used. The results obtained are as follows. The degree of the basic knowledge about clothing materials indicated that women was higher than men. The material decision method and the most considering part in case of selecting underwear products showed difference between men and women. The preference factors for underwear material quality were drawn with the five factors of sense of weight/pliability, lustering/see-through, tactility, and sense of cold and warmth. The preferred underwear material showed difference according to gender, existence and nonexistence of atopic determatitis, and degree of strength of skin itching caused by clothing materials. The demand performances of clothing in case of selecting underwear were drawn with the four factors of hygiene/practicality, skin protection, quality of materials, and aesthetic attribute. Bayesian Learning through Weight of Listener's Prefered Music Site for Music Recommender System

  • Along with the spread of digital music and recent growth in the digital music industry, the demands for music recommender are increasing. These days, listeners have increasingly preferred to digital real-time streamlining and downloading to listen to music because it is convenient and affordable for the listeners to do that. We use Bayesian learning through weight of listener's prefered music site such as Melon, Billboard, Bugs Music, Soribada, and Gini. We reflect most popular current songs across all genres and styles for music recommender system using user profile. It is necessary for us to make the task of preprocessing of clustering the preference with weight of listener's preferred music site with popular music charts. We evaluated the proposed system on the data set of music sites to measure its performance. We reported some of the experimental result, which is better performance than the previous system.

  • More and more cloud computing services are being applied in various fields; however, it is difficult for users and cloud computing service platforms to establish trust among each other. The trust value cannot be measured accurately or effectively. To solve this problem, we design a service-oriented cloud trust assessment model using a cloud model. We also design a subjective preference weight allocation (SPWA) algorithm. A flexible weight model is advanced by combining SPWA with the entropy method. Aiming at the fuzziness and subjectivity of trust, the cloud model is used to measure the trust value of various cloud computing services. The SPWA algorithm is used to integrate each evaluation result to obtain the trust evaluation value of the entire cloud service provider.
