Study on Preference and Using Behavior of Chungkukjang Products in Daegu and Gyeongbuk Area (대구.경북 지역의 청국장 제품에 대한 기호도 및 이용실태 조사)

  • Survey data from 654 adults (225 males, 429 females) were analyzed based on frequency, percentage, chi-square test, one-way ANOVA; and Duncan's multiple range test. The main results were based on the preference for chungkukjang_(CKJ) products using a 5-point Likert scale. According to the survey, traditional CKJ products received the highest score_(3.64) according to personal preference among all tested products. The responses to eight questions about CKJ products were also measured using a 5-point Likert scale. The question_ as to whether or not "CKJ has anticancer function" received the highest score_(4.24) while the "CKJ is good for hangover" scored the lowest. Regarding the preference for CKJ products, "good for health" (55.3%) and "unpleasant smell" (72.9%) were the most popular answers, Regarding the intention to eat CKJ food products, CKJ tofu was most often selected. Among the 11 items, CKJ tofu, CKJ steak, CKJ hamburger, CKJ ice cream; and CKJ vegetable salad were highly preferred foods. The percentage of respondents that expected "increasing" prospects for CKJ consumption was 55.2%, most likely because 76.9% of the respondents selected "healthy food". Regarding the reasons for decreasing prospects, 68.9% of the respondents chose "peculiar smell". In the same manner, 53.4% of adults replied that future quality improvement should "improve the smell".

The Effect of Psychological Characteristics and Peer Acceptance on Korean Female Adolescents' Clothing Behavior (청소년기 여학생의 심리적 특성과 또래수용이 의복행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study were 1) to identify the effects of psychological characteristics and peer acceptance on female adolescents'clothing behaviors(clothing attitudes and preference for up-to-date style), and 2) to determine the differences in psychological characteristics and clothing behaviors among subject groups classified by sociometric status. The questionnaires dealing with public/private self-consciousness, adolescent egocentrism, self-efficacy and clothing behaviors were adapted from precious studies. Peer acceptance was measured using Coie and Dodge(1983) method. The data were collected from 485 middle and high school girls living in Seoul, Korea. From the results of multiple regression of psychological characteristics and peer acceptance on clothing behaviors, clothing sexual attractiveness, clothing exhibition, and clothing importance were found to be influenced by public self-consciousness, adolescent egocentrism and peer acceptance. Fashion leadership and psychological dependence were influenced by egocentrism and self-efficacy. Preference for up-to-date style was influenced by egocentrism, public self-consciousness and self-efficacy. One-way ANOVA was used for analyzing the differences in research variables among subject groups classified by sociometric status. From the reset of middle school girls it was revealed that ignored group showed the highest score in clothing importance, whereas both popular group and rejected group showed the lowest score in social self-efficacy. In high school girls, controversial group showed the highest scores in adolescent egocentrism, fashion leadership, and preference for up-to-date style.

Development and Field Application of Meal Service Menu for the Elderly on Busy Farming Season in Hongchun, Gangwon (강원 홍천군 거주 노인의 농번기 급식용 메뉴개발과 적용)

  • Meal service menu for the elderly on busy farming season in Hongchun, Gangwon was developed and applied using seasonal foods from local crops. Acceptance of each menu right after the meal service was investigated while unit cost and leftover of each menu were also monitored. Acceptance of the staple food in Menu 4 showed the highest value with a score of 8.97.and side dishes of Menu 4 were greatly prdferred with a score of 8.69(p<0.05). General preference on menu was the highest at Menu 4 scoring 8.87(p<0.05). The amount of leftover for a special meal of Menu 3 was 75.80 g, which was the highest (p<0.05). Males left the least of Menu 4(30.82 g) whereas females did of Menu 2 (10.63 g, p<0.05). The foeld application of preference and satisfaction, and the small amount of leftover of the supplied meals.

A Study on the Utilization Pattern and the Perception of Housewives about Edible Oil & Fats (주부들의 식용유지류 이용의식 및 사용실태)

  • This study was carried out to obtain the information concerning the perception and utilization patter of the housewives about the edible oil and fats. Data were obtained through questionnaires from 442 housewives in Chonbuk area. The eating frequency of food that used oil & fat was affected by age, residing area and educational level. family's preference score of food that used oil & fats was 3.34 point in the 5 point scale. 47% of the subjects answered that the intake rate of oil & fats had more from vegetable oils than animal sauces. Most of the subjects had negative response such as increased cholesterol and body weight for psychological state after the intake of food that used oil & fats. The main reason why some housewives did not use frequently oil & fats was inconvenience of tidying up. The kinds of the oil & fat used frequently were soybean oil, sesame oil, com oil and perilla oil. The nutrition knowledge score rotated to oil & fat was 7.62 point in the 10 point scale. The eating frequency of food that used oil & fats and its preference were positively correlated. These results indicate that the housewives haute a widespread tendency to pursue a health and convenience in the utilization of edible oil & fats.

An effective evaluation method for the subjective sensibility of linen-like silk (의마 가공된 견직물의 효율적인 주관적 감성평가 방법)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the accuracy and reliability of subjective evaluation instruments in evaluating sensibility of similar fabrics, Kendall's coefficient of concordance W (agreement among subjects) and Spearman rank correlation coefficient (reproducibility after 1 week) were used to evaluate which one is more efficient. Eight kinds of linen-like silk fabrics finished with polyurethane resin were used, Subjective evaluation instruments such as rating scale method, contrasting method against a control, rank ordering method, paired comparison and Quad analysis were used, 'Stiffness and Pliability' and 'Preference of summer fabric' were estimated, From the result of subjective stiffness and pliability, which are effective on objective properties of fabric, the rating scale method in Kendall's coefficient of concordance W and Quad analysis in Spearman rank correlation coefficient were given the highest score, From the result of subjective preference of summer fabric, which are effective on individual sensibility, contrasting method against a control in Kendall's coefficient of concordance W and Quad analysis in Spearman rank correlation coefficient revealed the highest score, Regarding the accuracy, reliability and efficiency, Quad analysis was an efficient method for subjective evaluation of linen-like silk fabrics.

Study on the Perception and Preference of the Native Local Foods in Jecheon Area (제천지역의 향토음식에 관한 인지도 및 기호도 조사)

  • The purpose of this study was to have a proper understanding and a concern about native local food in Jecheon area. The data was obtained by use of questionnaires to residents in Jecheon and statistical analysis was performed The results were as follows: 1. Deodeokgui got the highest score in perception, preference, and possibility of development as a native local food in Jecheon. 2. Hyangeobaeksuk and Memiljeonbyung are significantly different in perception by gender. Perception scores of native local food were not significantly different by increase of age and resident period The perception scores of Dotorichaemuk and Minmulbibimhoe by nuclear family member were significantly high compared with that by extended family members. The perception score of Deodeokgui increased as the monthly income increased 3. Female subjects liked Gondeurebap and Memiljeonbyung whereas male ones liked Hyangeobaeksuk and Minmulbibimhoe. Preferences of Torimyun, Dotorichaemuk, Kongtang, Hyangeobaeksuk, Chikyori, Gobonju Seungumchotteok were increased as the age increased 4. According to this study, modernization was required for development of native local food.

A Study on the Gender Equality Consciousness, Preference and Learning Effectiveness for Technology.Home Economics of Middle and High School Students (중등학생의 양성평등의식과 기술.가정 교과 선호도 및 학습효과에 관한 연구)

  • The main purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of gender equality consciousness of middle and high school student on the preference for Technology Home Economics and its teaming effectiveness. For this purpose, the gender equality consciousness, the preference and learning effectiveness of Technology Home Economics were measured among a number of 404 middle and high school students in Chuncheon city. The results of this study were summarized as following: 1. The gender equality consciousness of female students was higher than that of male students. 2. Middle and high school students had the higher preference and learning effectiveness for the Home Economics area in Technology Home Economics than they had for the Technology. 3. Female student's preference and learning effectiveness for the Home Economics area in Technology Home Economics were higher than male student's. Male student's preference and Loaming effectiveness for the Technology area in Technology Home Economics were higher than female student's. 4. The group which had relatively high gender equality consciousness score showed the higher preference and learning effectiveness for the Home Economics area in Technology Home Economics than the group with low gender equality consciousness score. In contrast, the group with low gender equality consciousness score had the higher preference for the Technology area in Technology Home Economics than the group with high gender equality consciousness score. In conclusion, gender equality consciousness and gender type had the most strong influence on the preference and learning effectiveness for Technology Home Economics among middle-high school students.

Volatile Compounds of Zanthoxylum piperitum A.P. DC.

  • Volatile compounds, isolated from Chopi (Zanthoxylum piperitum A.P. DC.) using steam distillation, were analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry-olfactometry (GC-MS-O). Forty-six volatile compounds, consisting of 12 hydrocarbons, 8 aldehydes, 5 esters, 12 alcohols, 4 ketones, 4 oxides and 1 acid, were tentatively identified from the essential oil of Chopi. Unidentified compounds constituted 7.2% of the total peak area. Limonene was the most abundant compound, followed by geranyl acetate, citronellal, cryptone and ${\beta}$-myrcene. In addition, aroma-active compounds, in particular citronellal and limonene, which are related to the citrus and Chopi flavors of Chopi essential oil, were detected. The aroma of Chopi essential oil had a score of 4.8 on the preference test (neither like nor dislike) and a score of 5.97 on the intensity test (slightly strong) using the 9-point hedonic scale.

  • Service FMEA may yield several possible corrective actions for each failure mode with large RPN. Corrective actions for each service failure are usually interrelated with the customers and environmental elements of the service system. SWOT analysis can provide an effective way to analyze the inner and outer environmental impacts for each corrective action. In this paper, we suggest a way for selecting and ranking corrective strategy in service operation based on SWOT analysis. Every candidate of corrective action strategy is ranked and evaluated on the basis of the impact factors of the SWOT variables, correlations between possible corrective actions and SWOT variables, and RPNs of service failures. The most desirable set of corrective actions is selected considering the preference score of each corrective action, required resources and budgetary allowance. The proposed methodology is demonstrated with an illustrative example.

The Influence of Gender Schema on Children's Preference for Gender Related Tasks (성과 관련된 과제의 선호에서의 성 도식의 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate children's conceptions about gender and the relation between gender conceptions and preference for gender related tasks. 130 children were interviewed about gender and gender related tasks. Data were analyzed with the component model of gender schema. Results indicated that children's gender schema in the attitudes domain was significantly different with age in all components but not different with sex. The gender schema in the knowledge domain was significantly different with age in within component and between component links, and with sex in the gender label-component and within component links. The difference between the gender inhibitory score and gender facilitative score was significantly different with age, sex, and children's gender schema. The findings that gender schema influenced the children's preferences for gender related tasks suggests a theoretical rationale of gender schema theory.
