Matlab T-tide를 이용한 조위예측기반의 조력발전량 산정에 관한 연구 (The study on Estimate of Tidal Power Using Matlab T-tide Based on Tide Prediction)

  • The sihwa tidal power plant is the first tidal power plant in korea and the biggest of the world. The tidal power turbine is operated by tidal energy. The tidal energy is generated by the relative motion of the earth and celestial masses specially the sun and the moon, which interact via gravitational forces. The tidal power is estimated by the predicted the tidal amplitude and phase. This paper gives a process of estimate of tidal power using Matlab T-tide based on tide prediction. The proposed method is tested using actual recorded data comparing to predicted date.

한국 연안의 장주기 조석성분이 총 수위 예측에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Effects of Long-Term Tidal Constituents on Surge Forecasting Along The Coasts of Korean Peninsula)

  • 우리나라 연안의 30개 조위관측소에서 관측된 조위자료를 조화분해하여 2021년에 대한 해역별 장주기 조석성분의 특성 및 장주기 조석성분이 총 수위 예측에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보았다. 먼저 관측조위의 조화분해 결과, 우리나라 연안에서 장주기 조석성분은 연주조(Sa)와 반년주조(Ssa)가 우세하였으며, 해역별로는 서해안에서 약 17.8 cm의 상대적으로 큰 진폭을 보였다. 계속해서 총 수위 예측에 대한 영향을 살펴보고자, 2021년을 연구 기간으로 장주기 조석성분이 포함된 예측조위와 포함되지 않은 예측조위를 생산하였고, 각각의 예측조위를 폭풍해일 모델의 해일고 예측결과에 더하여 총 수위를 생산하였다. 장주기 조석성분을 고려하지 않은 총 수위와 고려한 총 수위의 오차를 비교한 결과, 전반적으로 뚜렷한 계절적 차이가 나타났다. 장주기 조석성분을 고려하지 않은 총 수위에 비해서, 장주기 성분이 고려된 총 수위는 여름철에는 오차가 큰 폭으로 감소하였고, 겨울철에는 강한 음의 편차를 보이며 오차가 증가하는 경향이 나타났다. 이는 우리나라 겨울철의 강한 고기압과 같은 기상현상에 의한 영향이 예측조위와 해일고 예측결과에 이중으로 반영되어 나타난 결과로 해석되었다. 해일고 예측결과를 조화분해하였을 때, 연주기 성분이 우세하였고 이를 장주기 조석성분이 고려된 총 수위에서 제거하였을 때, 특히 겨울철에 나타난 강한 음의 편차가 사라지고 연평균 RMSE도 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • In Korea, Yellow sea which is located west side of korea has a between 2.8 to 8.0 m tidal range. So, Vessel Traffic Support System(VTSS) is designed to provide predicted water level, tidal elevation and tide induced current. VTSS has a 58 tidal constituents from 1 year tide observed data and 23 tidal current constituents from 1 month current data at Dang-Jin P.P harbor. Predicted data visualized with graphs, vectors and stick plot. The purpose of VTSS give to information to maritime pilot for help to make decision schedule.

  • The Shiwhaho is an artificial lake located in Yellow sea of Korea where the ocean tidal current is significantly strong, and the tidal power plant is currently being under construction to generate electric power from the ocean tidal current. In addition to the tidal power plant under construction, an ocean current power park was proposed to maximize the power generation by utilizing the ocean current generated by the tidal power plant. To evaluate the feasibility of such combined power plant, the flow characteristics in the ocean current power parks connected with the tidal power plants were investigated numerically in the present study. When two different type of generations are operating together as a system, their interference may occur, which affects their efficiency. Therefore, the minimum distances between the tidal power plants and the ocean current power generators are studied in the present study to minimize such interference. The feasible region to generate power around the Shiwha tide embankment is also predicted by considering predicted ocean current speed distribution. Various arrangements of the ocean current generators are examined and an optimal arrangement is also discussed.

해안 매립에 따른 항내 조류변화 예측 (Prediction of Tidal Flow Changes Caused by Coastal Reclamation in Harbor System)

  • This paper presents the results from a hydrodynamic model study to predict the impacts of coastal reclamation in Pusan harbor system using RMA2 which is a tidal flow model of the US Army Corps of Engineers' TABS-2 system. A finite element mesh was constructed and refined to cover the complicated geometry of Pusan harbor system and the proposed reclamation area. The model was calibrated to tidal elevations and currents measured during spring fall syzygys. Under the three different tidal conditions including summer winter syzygys, spring fall quarters, and summer winter quarters, the model predictions were compared with the field measurements both in tidal elevation and current. In all cases, there were excellent agreements between the model predictions and the field measurements. The validated model was then used to predict the changes in tidal current and elevation that might occur due to the coastal reclamation. It was predicted that there would be no change in tidal elevation of this system after the reclamation. In tidal current, however, discernible changes were predicted near the proposed reclamation area both in magnitude and direction.

온산 항만 시스템에서 조류와 수질 변화 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of Tidal Flow and Water Quality in Onsan Harbor System)

  • Tidal flow and water quality were simulated in this paper to assess environmental impact caused by pier construction projects in Onsan harbor system. The Surfacewater Modeling System (SMS) was applied to the Onsan harbor system, where coastal reclamation and dredging were planned to build the piers. A finite element mesh was constructed and refined to cover the complicated geometry of the Onsan harbor and the proposed reclamation area. The time variable change of tidal height at harbor inlet was given as an input condition to tidal simulation. The water quality simulation was based on the discharge rate of suspended solids at the reclamation area. The simulation results have shown reasonable agreements with real situations in both tidal flow and water quality. According to the proposed plan, tidal flow and water quality were predicted during and after the pier construction. The tidal simulation study showed that there would be no discernible change of tidal current in the harbor except for the dredged area. The water quality simulation, however, predicted that suspended solids would increase significantly near the reclaimed and dredged areas during construction.

목포해역 개발에 따른 항내 조석변화 (Tidal Changes in the Harbor due to the Development of Mokpo Coastal Zone)

  • Tidal changes in Mokpo harbor and its adjacent coastal waters caused by the coastal development including the construction of the Youngsan, Youngam, and Gumho Estuary Barrages had been predicted previously. Since then, the construction work for these estuary barrages had been completed and it was available to get water level variations from the continuous measurement at the Mokpo tidal station. This study deals with the analysis of water level variation from the observed data by the harmonic analysis and mathematical treatment. Some comparisons between the observed water level changes and the predicted by the numerical model are made, which was not supported before. The result shows that the trend of the water level changes are following well the previously predicted variations.

남해안의 조위 및 조류거동 수치모의 (Numerical Simulation for Behavior of Tidal Elevation and Tidal Currents in the South Sea)

  • 본 연구의 대상영역인 남해안의 조위 및 조류 수치모의를 위해 조석 보정용 모델인 NAO.99의 기존결과를 외해 개방경계 조건에 적용하였다. 조간대를 고려할 수 있고 $\sigma$-좌표계를 사용하는 EFDC 모형을 이용하여 2 km의 직교 정격자와 $0.5\sim2.0km$의 가변직교격자를 사용한 두 개의 격자망을 구축하였다. 조위수치모의 결과에서 예측값과 국립해양조사원 조위검조소의 관측값이 잘 일치하였으며 남해안 동측에서 서측으로의 조석의 전파를 보여주었다. 검증 결과 격자크기가 감소할수록 조위관측 자료와 더 높은 상관관계를 보였으며 0.5 km의 격자크기로 인한 수치모의 결과가 내만의 협수로 및 지형의 영향을 크게 받는 조류를 다소 과소 산정하는 경향을 가지는 반면에 넓은 수로 및 외해역 자료의 경우에는 2 km 격자로 조류의 적절한 재현이 가능하였다.

조석예보시스템의 구축 및 응용 (The Formulation of the Tidal Prediction System It's Application)

  • Through the combination of existing tidal prediction model and numerical tidal model, the efficient tidal prediction system was formulated and applied to the neighboring area of Pusan port. Because all tidal constituents for tidal prediction (69 tidal constituents are normally used) couldn't be considered due to the physical limits on computing process, some errors between the observed and predicted values were inevitably occurred. But it was confirmed that the computed values with maximum 10% of relative errors can be obtained if four major tidal constituents(M2, S2, K1, O1) are used. Thus, if other constituents than four major tidal constituents are additionally used, more accurate values will be obtained. Furthermore, if the database for harmonic constants in coastal waters is made in advance, using the numerical tidal model, prompt tidal prediction can be achieved at any time when it is required.
