  • The analysis model is the infinite body consisted of power law creep material containing a rigid inclusion with line crack shape subjected to the arbitrarily directional stress on an infinite boundary. The crack analysis is performed using the complex pseudo-stress function. The strain rate intensity factor is determined in the closed form as new fracture mechanics parmeter which represents the magnitudes of stress and strain rate near the tip in power law creep material.

  • Linear motor feed drive systems have been broadly used in machine tools or precision automatic feed systems. Recently, modem machine tools require high speed and high precision feed drive system to achieve high productivity. Unfortunately, a feed drive system, even though it was optimum designed, may experience severe transient vibrations during high-speed operation if its feed rate control is unsuitable. A rough feed rate curve having discontinuity in its acceleration profile causes a serious vibration problem in the feed slides system. This paper presents a feed rate optimization of a machine tool feed slide system, which is driven by a linear motor, for its minimum vibrations. Firstly, a 4-degree-of-freedom lumped parameter model is proposed for the vibration analysis of a linear motor driven machine tool feed drive system. Next, a feed rate optimization of the feed slide is carried out for minimum vibrations. The feed rate curve optimization strategy is to find out the most appropriate acceleration profile with jerk continuity. Of course, the optimized feed rate should approximate to the desired one as possible. A genetic algorithm with variable penalty function was used in this feed rate optimization.

  • H.264/AVC 표준은 색차 신호를 보간할 때 선형 보간을 이용하여 예측 보간 신호를 생성한다. 휘도 신호의 예측 보간에 사용되는 6탭 FIR 필터, 2탭 선형필터, 고정밀도 필터의 조합은 선형 예측 보간에 비해서 더 정확한 예측 값을 생성할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 휘도신호의 예측 보간에 사용되는 6탭 FIR 필터, 2탭 선형 필터, 고정밀도 필터를 색차신호의 예측보간에 사용하여 부호화 효율을 높이는 방법을 제안하였다. 실험 결과, 제안하는 방법은 jm11.0kta2.7 과 비교하여 PSNR의 감소없이 BD-Rate의 감소를 확인하였다. Y는 최대 1.3%, Cb는 최대 19.8%, Cr은 최대 25.0%의 BD-Rate의 감소를 확인 할 수 있었다. 평균적으로 Y는 0.5%, Cb는 6.1%, Cr는 6.9%의 BD-Rate의 감소를 확인하였다.

  • The optimal extrusion process for the rate sensitive materials have been developed in this study. The preliminary designs of the die shapes have been carried out to maintain constant strain rate during extrusion and the upper bound approach has been applied to define the process variables (the die entrance velocity and the die length) including the rheology during deformation. The result for the axisymmetric extrusion process has been verified with rigid-viscoplastic finite element analysis. It has been confirmed that the optimal die has wider band of constant strain rate than the conical one does.

  • Mechanical properties of the materials used for transportations and industrial machinery under high strain rate loading conditions such as seismic loading are required to provide appropriate safety assessment to these mechanical structures. The split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) technique with a special experimental apparatus can be used to obtain the material behavior under high strain rate loading conditions. In this paper, dynamic deformation behaviors of the aluminum alloys such as A12024-T4, A16061-T6, and A17075-T6 under both high strain rate compressive and tensile loading conditions are determined using the SHPB technique.

  • A specific experimental method, the Split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) technique has been widely used to determine the dynamic material properties under the impact compressive loading conditions with strain rate of the order of 10$^3$/s∼l0$^4$/s. In this paper, dynamic deformation behaviors of rubber materials widely used for the isolation of vibration from structure under varying dynamic loading are determined by using plastic SHPB technique. A transition point to scope with the dynamic deformation behavior of rubber-like material is defined in this paper and used to characterize the specifics of the dynamic deformation of rubber materials.

  • Recently, the Rapid Prototyping System makes used of changing file format. The most problem is produced by this process. It is influenced by the precision of shape manufacturing. And It is most influenced by shrinkage rate within many elements influence the precision of 3D shape manufacturing. In result, the length strain in each axis cause at STL file transforming. It will compensate for utilizing the shrinkage rate.

  • The stress intensity factor for an interface crack in dissimilar materials has been obtained by many researchers. But research of the energy release rate for an interface crack in pseudo-isotropic dissimilar materials is insufficient yet. In this paper, the energy release rate for cracks in pseudo-isotropic dissimilar materials was obtained using eigenfunction expansion method and also analyzed numerically using the reciprocal work contour integral method. The results were verified by comparing with other worker's results.
