The Effect of Action on the Balance and the Trunk Control Ability in the Sit Position of Chronic Stroke Patients (동작관찰훈련이 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 앉은 자세에서 균형과 몸통조절능력에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose : To find out how action observation training for chronic stroke patients affects their balance and body control abilities in the posture seated in the rehabilitation of stroke. Methods : This study was conducted on 30 subjects who were diagnosed with stroke. The group conducted motion observation training through video clips, while the control group only conducted physical training, and the general physical therapy was performed equally by both counties. The static balance was measured using Biorescue and the dynamic balance was measured using Modified Functional Reach Test (MFRT), Postural Assessment Scale for Stroke, and Trunk Impairment Scale. Results : Static balance showed statistically significant difference in foot pressure (p<.05) as a result of comparison between pre and post exercise training. Dynamic balance was statistically significant (p>.05) as a result of comparing pre and post differences using modified functional reach test. The trunk control ability was statistically significant (p>.001). Comparison between the results of before and after motion observation training showed a statistically significant difference. Conclusion: This study confirmed that exercise training in sitting position was effective for static, dynamic balance ability and trunk control ability of hemiplegic patients due to stroke. These results suggest that the use of motion monitoring in stroke patients may have a positive impact on the diversity and function of rehabilitation.

  • Objectives : This study aimed to determine whether Variability of Walking Environment Training can improve gait and balance in stroke patients. Methods : Twenty-four stroke patients are randomly assigned to experimental group 1 (n=8), experimental group 2 (n=8) and control group (n=8). Experimental group 1 performed unexpected obstacle walking training, experimental group 2 performed fixed obstacle walking training and control group performed non obstacle walking training for 12 minutes per session, 5 times a week for 4 weeks. The gait analyzer G-walk were evaluated using gait cadence, gait velocity, and stride length, balance was evaluated using FES-K and BBS. Results : In within-group comparison of gait cadence, gait velocity and stride length of change, the experimental 1,2 groups showed significant improvements post intervention (p<.05) but control group showed no significant improvement. In between-groups comparison there was significant difference in the change of gait cadence, gait velocity and stride length pre and post intervention. In within-group comparison of FES-K and BBS scores, the experimental 1,2 groups showed significant improvements post intervention (p<.05) but control group showed no significant improvement. In between-groups comparison there was significant difference in the change of FES-K and BBS scores pre and post intervention (p<.05).

  • This research elaborated five components for pre-service mathematics teacher training: 1) Mathematical content knowledge, 2) Pedagogical content knowledge, 3) Pedagogical reasoning, 4) System of training, and 5) Mathematics teachers' beliefs. For the effect teaching, mathematics teacher program should be reformed. The key to improvement should be concerntrated on developing knowledge about effective teaching and translating it into algorithms those teachses can learn and incorporate in their planning prior to teaching. A theory of instruction should specify the most effective sequences in which to present the materials to be learned.

The Effect of an 8-week Velocity-based Training on Mechanical Power of Elite Sprinters (8주간 속도 기반 트레이닝이 단거리 육상선수의 순발력에 미치는 영향)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of an 8-week velocity-based training on the maximum vertical jump in elite sprinters. Method: Ten elite sprinters were participated in this study (age: 21 ± 0.97 yrs., height: 179 ± 3.54 cm, body mass: 72 ± 2.98 kg). An 8-week velocity-based power training was provided to all subjects for twice per week. Their maximum vertical jumps were measured before and after velocity-based training. A 3-dimensional motion analysis with 8 infrared cameras and 4 channels of EMG was performed in this study. A paired t-test was used for statistical verification. The significant level was set at α=.05. Results: There were no statistically significant differences were found between pre and post the training (p>.05). However, most variables included jump record, knee joint ROM, and muscle activation of rectus femoris showed increased pattern after the training. Conclusion: In this study, an 8-week velocity-based training did not showed the significant training effects. However, knee joint movement which is the key role of the vertical jump revealed positive kinematic and kinetic pattern after the training. From this founding, it is believed that velocity-based training seems positively affect the vertical jump which is the clear measurement of mechanical power of sprinter. In addition, to get more clear evidence of the training more training period would be needed.

Comparison of Perception Between Secondary School Teacher and Pre-service Teacher about the Creativity as an Essential Quality of Highly Professional and Committed Teachers (헌신적인 교사가 갖추어야 할 창의성에 대한 중등교사와 예비교사의 인식 비교)

  • In order to foster 'creative convergence talents' teachers and pre-service teachers who possess a certain degree of creativity must learn about this new approach as part of their teacher training. In this study, we attempted to identify the implications on the curriculum of the teacher education-training college in question by analysing secondary school teachers' and pre-service teachers' creativity and by collecting sufficient data to develop a positive feedback model for selecting, cultivating, and appointing pre-service teachers who fulfil the requirements of said college of education. Such teachers will display the commitment and professionalism to fulfil their teaching duties in the best possible manner and will consistently produce valuable contributions to their chosen subject matter and integrate these into their daily teaching. These teachers will complete all their tasks in a creative way, including student guidance, administrative duties, and academic lessons. The factors that distinguished creative teachers from others included originality and fluency. Our test group comprised 216 pre-service teachers as well as 137 fully qualified teachers. Teachers' understanding of the factors required in order to qualify as a 'creative and committed teacher' was very low. We provided data to the college of education to increase creativity when selecting teachers and curricula based on an analysis of perceptions of creativity provided by teachers and pre-service teachers.

Effects of Self Care Training Program on Motor Function of Upper Limb and Self-Efficacy in Chronic Stroke Patients (자조활동 훈련 프로그램이 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 상지 운동기능 및 자기효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of self care training program on motor function of upper limb and self-efficacy in chronic stroke patients. This study selected 20 chronic stroke patients in local community men. The subjects carried out self care training program be composed of task oriented training for 40 minutes, 4 times per week for 6 weeks. Manual function test(MFT), digital grip dynamometer, self-efficacy scale were used to evaluate motor function of upper limb and self-efficacy during pre and post intervention. In MFT and hand grip force test, the post outcome were significantly increase than the pre outcome(p<.05). In self-efficacy evaluation, the post outcome of was significantly improve than the pre outcome(p<.05). The result of this study show that the self care training program be composed of task oriented training may be appropriate for improving the motor function of upper limb and self-efficacy in chronic stroke patients. This will enable the application of self care training program in rehabilitation therapy of chronic stroke patients and it will help guide the selection of the therapist as one therapeutic basis

  • This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of the mathematics teacher's training program: whether the training program is effective to improve mathematics teachers' professional competency of the developing assessment instrument (including items) or not. The teachers who were attendee of the program did pre-test before the program and post-test after the program. They wrote the opinions on the pre-developed items which had many errors in the beginning and discussed their opinions each others in the middle of program. The differences between pre-test and post-test and between opinions in the beginning and in the middle were analysed. The first result of the study is that the teacher's professional competency which is evaluated as self-perceived points is improved with regard to understanding the standardized test, item difficulty and item discrimination. Secondly, the proportion of the opinion with concrete reasons is increased as the program progressed. Thirdly, the effective elements of the program are the discussion in the group, discussion between groups, and feedback from the instructor. But the ineffective element of the program is the insufficient time for practicing.

  • This paper proposes a lightweight deep learning network for detecting an image splicing forgery. The research on image forgery detection using CNN, a deep learning network, and research on detecting and localizing forgery in pixel units are in progress. Among them, CAT-Net, which learns the discrete cosine transform coefficients of images together with images, was released in 2022. The DCT coefficients presented by CAT-Net are combined with the JPEG artifact learning module and the backbone model as pre-learning, and the weights are fixed. The dataset used for pre-training is not included in the public dataset, and the backbone model has a relatively large number of network parameters, which causes overfitting in a small dataset, hindering generalization performance. In this paper, this learning module is designed to learn the characterization depending on the DCT domain in real-time during network training without pre-training. The DCT RRU-Net proposed in this paper is a network that combines RRU-Net which detects forgery by learning only images and JPEG artifact learning module. It is confirmed that the network parameters are less than those of CAT-Net, the detection performance of forgery is better than that of RRU-Net, and the generalization performance for various datasets improves through the network architecture and training method of DCT RRU-Net.

Strengthening Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Tuberculosis Prevention Capacity among South African Healthcare Workers: A Mixed Methods Study of a Collaborative Occupational Health Program

  • Background: Insufficient training in infection control and occupational health among healthcare workers (HCWs) in countries with high human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and tuberculosis (TB) burdens requires attention. We examined the effectiveness of a 1-year Certificate Program in Occupational Health and Infection Control conducted in Free State Province, South Africa in an international partnership to empower HCWs to become change agents to promote workplace-based HIV and TB prevention. Methods: Questionnaires assessing reactions to the program and Knowledge, Attitudes, Skills, and Practices were collected pre-, mid-, and postprogram. Individual interviews, group project evaluations, and participant observation were also conducted. Quantitative data were analyzed using Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Qualitative data were thematically coded and analyzed using the Kirkpatrick framework. Results: Participants recruited (n = 32) were mostly female (81%) and nurses (56%). Pre-to-post-program mean scores improved in knowledge (+12%, p = 0.002) and skills/practices (+14%, p = 0.002). Preprogram attitude scores were high but did not change. Participants felt empowered and demonstrated attitudinal improvements regarding HIV, TB, infection control, and occupational health. Successful projects were indeed implemented. However, participants encountered considerable difficulties in trying to sustain improvement, due largely to lack of pre-existing knowledge and experience, combined with inadequate staffing and insufficient management support. Conclusion: Training is essential to strengthen HCWs' occupational health and infection control knowledge, attitudes, skills, and practices, and workplace-based training programs such as this can yield impressive results. However, the considerable mentorship resources required for such programs and the substantial infrastructural supports needed for implementation and sustainability of improvements in settings without pre-existing experience in such endeavors should not be underestimated.

  • This study is a study on the perceptions of pre-primary early childhood teachers on teaching and learning methods for infants and toddlers in the early childhood teacher training process. This is a mixed study using word cloud analysis and qualitative case analysis on the subject, focusing on literature research and understanding of pre-primary early childhood teachers' 'teaching and learning methods for infants and toddlers'. The purpose of this study was to find out the meaning of a early childhood teacher through thoughts on teaching and learning methods for infants, difficulties, points to be learned, teaching competency to be good as a teacher, and experiences for teaching professionalism. Through the results of this study, it is expected to find a way to increase their sense of efficacy on teaching and learning methods when conducting classes for young children in the future, and to provide basic data for improving the quality of early childhood education.
