Performance Evaluation and Sensitivity Analysis of the Pantograph for the High-Speed Train Using Finite Element Analysis Method (유한요소해석 기법을 이용한 고속철도용 판토그래프 집전성능 평가 및 민감도 분석)

  • In this paper, sensitivity analysis of the pantograph for the high-speed Train was conducted using finite element analysis method. Dynamic interaction of catenary-pantograph model was simulated by using a commercial finite element analysis software, SAMCEF. Pantograph was assumed to be three degree of freedom mass-spring-damper model and the pre-sag of the contact and messenger wire was implemented due to gravity. The span data of the actual high-speed line and specification of pantograph for high-speed train was applied in the analysis model, respectively. The reliability of the simulation model is verified by comparing the contact force results of simulation and test. Through the simulation, mean contact force and its deviation was evaluated and then sensitivity of the pantograph was analyzed.

  • A dynamic simulation for a high-speed pantograph-overheadline has been performed using mode superposition method to predict contact forces between pantograph and overheadline. We can deal with non-linear dampers of the pantograph and pre-sag of overhead-line for the simulation. But, we can not consider slackness of dropper in the overhead-line. According to the simulation results, the contact forces and displacements are reasonably predicted, compared with other foreign simulation results.

  • Subsurface information is one of the most important factors in the archaeological excavation. To obtain the information on the underground, geophysical prospecting is becoming a popular method. This study is on the small rocky islands located 200m away from the shoreline of Gampo, Gyeongju city, Korea. According to the historical records and field surveys, it was revealed as the tomb of King Munmu of Shilla Dynasty. However, the questions and debates, such as whether it is really the tomb of King Moonmu or not, and whether it is a buried place or not, are still remains, in addition to the incompletion of precise surveying and scientific studies. The scope of this study contains the researches on the above problems and debates using the geophysical and geological methods and techniques. The rocky islands around the submerged Tomb of King Moonmu is composed of granite, and sag exists inside of the islands. Sea water enters through the east groove by wave and is drained to the west slot by hydraulic gradient, since west slot is 15cm lower than the east. Sag inside of the islands is believed to be extended and widened from pre-existed sinkage by applying tools like chisel in the joints and cracks. It is concluded that the submerged megalith inside of sag was from the rock block which was developed by joints. Geophysical surveys reveal that there is no artificial structure or stone/china/steel chest, under the m egalith and rocky island. Researches show that the tomb of King Moonmu was constructed in the small rocky island artificially. However, the evidences show that planners and constructors of the tomb made every possible effort to preserve the natural environment and condition. It is strongly believed that the megalith was sort of alter to sprinkle bone-ash rather than buried place.

Basin evolution and provenance of . sediments of the Cretaceous Poongam sedimentary Basin (백악기 풍암 퇴적분지의 생성 진화와 퇴적물 기원)

  • The Cretaceous Poongam sedimentary Basin in Kangwon-do, Korea consists alluvial deposits of conglomerates, sandstones, mudstones or siltstones, and volcaniclastics. The Poongam Basin was formed as a fault margin sag or a transpressional basin developed along a strike-slip fault zone, and received huge amount of clastic sediments from the adjacent fault-scaip. It formed an aggrading alluvial fan system and a volcaniclast-supplied marginal lake environment, while tectonic activity and volcanism attenuated toward the end of basin formation. Following the Folk's classification, the sandstones of the Poongam Basin are identified as lithic wackes or feldspathic wackes. The areal and sequential variation of the mineral composition in the sandstones is not distinct. The results of K-Ar age dating from the intruding andesites, volcaniclastics and volcanic fragments in sedimentary rocks show a range of 70 Ma to 84 Ma. It suggests that volcarism occurred sequentially within a relatively short period as the pre-, syn-, and post-depositional events. It was the short period in the late Cretaceous that the basin had evolved i.e., the basin formation, the sediment input and fill, and the , intrusion and extrusion of volcanic rocks occurred. The Poongam sedimentary sequence is a typical tectonic-controlled coarse sedimentary facies which is texturally immature.

Quality Characteristics of Noodles by Addition of Buckwheat Sprout Powder (메밀싹가루 첨가량에 따른 국수의 품질 특성)

  • This study was performed to provide basic data that will predict the usefulness of buckwheat sprout as food materials. The quality characteristics of noodles prepared with buckwheat sprout powder were investigated The buckwheat sprout powder was added to the noodles in 0, 2, 4, 6, and $8\%$ in proportion to the weight of wheat flour, respectively. The added amounts of buckwheat sprout powder did not affect the volume of the noodles. The weight of noodles was decreased, whereas tumidity of the soup after cooking the noodles was increased with the increment of the amount of added buckwheat sprout powder. The color of powder mixture, wet noodles, and cooked noodles was changed by the addition of buckwheat sprout powder. Lightness(L) was decreased, whereas yellowness(b) and redness(a) increased as the amount of buckwheat sprout powder increased. In the texture analysis, hardness and chewiness of wet noodles were increased significantly by the addition of buckwheat sprout powder. Hardness, chewiness, and gumminess increased significantly in the cooked noodles with more than $6\%$ substitution of buckwheat sprout powder. Other textural properties did not show any significant changes. The results of sensory evaluation revealed that the overall preference of noodles with 2 to $4\%$ substitution of buckwheat sprout powder was better than other sample groups. Therefore, the appropriate amount of addition for the buckwheat sprout noodles was 2 to $4\%$ buckwheat sprout powder in proportion to the weight of wheat flour.

Mechanical Loads of Dropper for High Speed Electric Railway (고속 전차선로 드로퍼에 대한 기계적 하중에 관한 연구)

  • The dropper supports the contact wire and is attached using various types of dropper clips on the catenary. Droppers are subject to mechanical stress from buckling during the passage of pantographs. In order to investigate failure causes for the high speed line dropper, theoretical analyses and experiments have been carried out. In this paper, mathematical formulas are derived for the pre-sag of the dropper static load. The measured values in the experiment were similar to the theoretical predictions. To analyze the cause on fracture of dropper wire, we have conducted analysis such as SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) of fractured specimens in the field and new specimens. Finally, we performed measurement for the variation of dynamic load on the dropper when a pantograph moved at 300km/h under the Korean high speed overhead line. If such mechanical load occur repeatedly with every passing pantograph, it is possible that the dropper wire will break due to fatigue. This results will be used for special management of high speed catenary system maintenance and life estimation of dropper.

DC/RF Magnetron Sputtering deposition법에 의한 $TiSi_2$ 박막의 특성연구

  • MOSFET, MESFET 그리고 MODFET는 Logic ULSIs, high speed ICs, RF MMICs 등에서 중요한 역할을 하고 있으며, 그것의 gate electrode, contact, interconnect 등의 물질로는 refractory metal을 이용한 CoSi2, MoSi2, TaSi2, PtSi2, TiSi2 등의 효과를 얻어내고 있다. 그중 TiSi2는 비저항이 가장 낮고, 열적 안정도가 좋으며 SAG process가 가능하므로 simpler alignment process, higher transconductance, lower source resistance 등의 장점을 동시에 만족시키고 있다. 최근 소자차원이 scale down 됨에 따라 TiSi2의 silicidation 과정에서 C49 TiSi2 phase(high resistivity, thermally unstable phase, larger grain size, base centered orthorhombic structure)의 출현과 그것을 제거하기 위한 노력이 큰 issue로 떠오르고 있다. 여러 연구 결과에 따르면 PAI(Pre-amorphization zimplantation), HTS(High Temperature Sputtering) process, Mo(Molybedenum) implasntation 등이 C49를 bypass시키고 C54 TiSi2 phase(lowest resistivity, thermally stable phase, smaller grain size, face centered orthorhombic structure)로의 transformation temperature를 줄일 수 있는 가장 효과적인 방법으로 제안되고 있지만, 아직 그 문제가 완전히 해결되지 않은 상태이며 C54 nucleation에 대한 physical mechanism을 밝히진 못하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 증착 시 기판온도의 변화(400~75$0^{\circ}C$)에 따라 silicon 위에 DC/RF magnetron sputtering 방식으로 Ti/Si film을 각각 제작하였다. 제작된 시료는 N2 분위기에서 30~120초 동안 500~85$0^{\circ}C$의 온도변화에 따라 RTA법으로 각각 one step annealing 하였다. 또한 Al을 cosputtering함으로써 Al impurity의 존재에 따른 영향을 동시에 고려해 보았다. 제작된 시료의 분석을 위해 phase transformation을 XRD로, microstructure를 TEM으로, surface topography는 SEM으로, surface microroughness는 AFM으로 측정하였으며 sheet resistance는 4-point probe로 측정하였다. 분석된 결과를 보면, 고온에서 제작된 박막에서의 C54 phase transformation temperature가 감소하는 것이 관측되었으며, Al impuritydmlwhswork 낮은온도에서의 C54 TiSi2 형성을 돕는다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 결론적으로, 고온에서 증착된 박막으로부터 열적으로 안정된 phase의 낮은 resistivity를 갖는 C54 TiSi2 형성을 보다 낮은 온도에서 one-step RTA를 통해 얻을 수 있다는 결과와 Al impurity가 존재함으로써 얻어지는 thermal budget의 효과, 그리고 그로부터 기대할 수 있는 여러 장점들을 보고하고자 한다.

Analysis of the Current-Collection Performance of a High-Speed Train Using Finite Element Analysis Method (유한 요소 해석 기법을 이용한 고속 철도 차량의 집전 성능 해석)

  • In this study, a simulation model to estimate the current-collection performance of a high-speed train was developed by using a commercial finite element analysis software, SAMCEF. A three-dimensional springDdamperDmass model of a pantograph was created, and its reliability was validated by comparing the receptance of the model to that of the actual pantograph. The wave propagation speed of the catenary model was compared with the analytical wave propagation speed of the catenary system presented in the UIC 799 OR standard. The length of the droppers was controlled, and the pre-sag of the contact wire due to gravity was considered. The catenary and the pantograph were connected by using a contact element, and the contact force variation when the pantograph was moved at velocities of 300 km/h and 370 km/h was obtained. The average, standard deviation, maximum, and minimum values of the contact force were analyzed, and the effectiveness of the developed simulation model was examined.
