  • This study proposed the optimal mixing time for pre-mixed cement and post mixed cement using the statistical analysis method of box plots. Pre-mixed cement can prevent material seegregation, strength loss, and quality variation if mixed for at least 60 seconds, and the data median is shown to be within the box range. Post-mixed cement should be mixed for at least 180 seconds to prevent material segregation, strength loss, and quality variation, and compressive strength tends to increase with longer vibrating times. Therefore, it is suggested that using pre-mixed cement can shorten the vibrating time and increase the productivity of the concrete.

  • In the catalytic combustor, combustion characteristic and deterioration of catalysts were affected by non-uniformity of pre-mixed gas, Therefore, formation of uniform pre-mixed gas is one of important subjects. In this study, the effect of uniformity and non-uniformity of pre-mixed gas supplied to the catalyst was examined to clarify reaction acceleration and combustion characteristic of the catalytic combustion. It was clarified that static mixer or vaporizer tube length of about 150mm and weak swirl to a combustion air were effictive expedient to make uniform pre-mixed gas. And catalystic inlet temperature needs more than $600^{\circ}C$ with rich pre-mixed gas to active reaction.

  • Polymer cement mortar which is used as material for aging concrete structures is generally mixed manually and applied on the job site. but, to secure the required quality of the mortar, pre-mixed polymer cement mortar is favored. This study was initiated to four different pre-mixed polymer cement mortars which are produced in Korea. The for pre-mixed mortars were selected and tested with respect to physical and mechanical properties an proved that their qualities were better than those of common cement concrete mortars.

  • In this study, flowability and strength on ultra high performance concrete(UHPC) pre-mixed binders with fiber was investigated. The flow of UHPC with pre-mixed binders was higher than that of seperate mixing conditions. The UHPC using PVA fiber with high specific surface area showed a low flow compared to steel fiber. An pre-mixing method led to improved strength of UHPC and low deviation of specimens due to dispersion effect of each materials.

  • The effects of carbon dioxide addition to oxygen have been investigated with swirl-stabilized premixed methane flame in a laboratory-scale pre-mixed combustor. The methane fuel and oxydant mixture gas ($CO_2$ and $O_2$) were mixed in a pre-mixer and introduced to the combustor through different degrees of swirl vanes. The flame characteristics were examined for different amount of carbon dioxide addition to the methane fuel and different swirl strengths. The effects of carbon dioxide addition and swirl intensity on the combustion characteristics of pre-mixed methane flames were examined using chemiluminescence techniques to provide information about flow field. The results show that the flame area increases at upstream of reaction zone because of increase in recirculation flow for increase in swirl intensity. The flame area is also increased at the downstream zone by recirculation flow because of increase in swirl intensity which results in higher centrifugal force. The OH and CH radical intensity of reaction zone decrease with carbon dioxide addition because the carbon dioxide plays a role of dilution gas in the reaction zone.

  • The effects of hydrogen enrichment to methane on NOx formation have been investigated with swirl stabilized pre-mixed hydrogen enriched methane flame in a laboratory-scale pre-mixed combustor(nominally of 5,000 kcal/hr). The hydrogen enriched methane fuel and air were mixed in a pre-mixer and introduced to the combustor through different degrees of swirl vanes. The flame stability was examined for different amount of hydrogen addition to the methane fuel, different combustion air flow rates and swirl strengths by comparing equivalence ratio at the lean flame limit. The hydrogen addition effects and swirl intensity on the combustion characteristics of pre-mixed methane flames were examined using gas analyzers, and OH chemiluminescence techniques to provide information about species concentration of emission gases and flowfield. The results of NOx and CO emissions were compared with a diffusion flame type combustor. The results show that the lean stability limit depends on the amount of hydrogen addition and the swirl intensity. The lean stability limit is extended by hydrogen addition, and is reduced for higher swirl intensity at lower equivalence ratio. The addition of hydrogen increases the NOx emission, however, this effect can be reduced by increasing either the excess air or swirl intensity. The NOx emission of hydrogen enriched methane premixed flame was lower than the corresponding diffusion flame under the fuel lean condition.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the beating properties of two types of cotton pulps such as "cotton lint mixed pulp" and "cotton linter pulp". In order to improve refining characteristics, the effects of carboxymethyl-cellulose (CMC) pre-treatment, mixing ratio changes of cotton lint mixed pulp and cotton linter pulp, and refining load changes were analyzed. In mill application, it was possible to improve the refining characteristics and maintained the strength properties of the paper by applying increasing ratio of cotton linter pulp mixing and controlling the refining methods.

  • This study is a series of studies intended to derive the improvement of strength concrete quality using an emulsified refined oil (ERCO). In other words, ERCO is used to analyze the improvement degree of the basic properties of ordinary strength concrete by pre-adding the AE Agent on its products. ERCO was also planned to have a mixing ratio of 0, 0.5 %, and the pre-addtion of AE agent mixed with 0, 1, 2, and 3 % of the concrete's mixed ERCO mass. As a result, as the pre-injection of AE agent was increased, the slump, and air contents tended to be improved microscopically, but there was no significant effect. and Compressive strength tends to increase smart-all as the pre-addtion of AE agent increases in concrete, but it does not have a significant effect.

  • In this research, we tried to combine the coagulation/sedimentation process as pre-treatment with UF membrane filtration to reduce the membrane fouling and to improve the permeate water quality. We used the Jet Mixed Separator (JMS) as coagulation/sedimentation process. We observed that the HPC and E.Coli can't be removed through the direct UF memebrane filtation of surface water. The removal efficiency of dissolved organic substances, indicated by E260 and DOC, was 40% and 15%, respectively. However, the removal efficiency of it increased two time as a result of combination of JMS process as coagulation/sedimentation pre-treatment. This was resulted from the formation of high molecular humic micro-floc through JMS process. The accumulation amount of irreversible cake layer which was not removed by backwashing was less than direct UF membrane filtration of surface water. Moreover, the loading rate of fouling induced substances, such as humic substances and suspended substances, on membrane surface decreased drastically through JMS process. As a result, the accumulation amount of irreversible cake on membrane surface was decreased.

  • The present study has experimentally investigated the effects of $CO_2$ diluted oxygen on the structure of swirl-stabilized flame in a lab-scale combustor. The methane fuel and oxidant mixture gas ($CO_2$ and $O_2$) were mixed in a pre-mixer and introduced to the combustor through different degrees of swirl vanes. The flame characteristics were examined for various amount of carbon dioxide addition to the methane fuel and various swirl strengths. The effects of carbon dioxide addition and swirl intensity on the combustion characteristics of pre-mixed methane flames were examined using chemiluminescence techniques to provide information about flow field. The results show that the hot combustion zone increases at the upstream reaction zone because of an increase in the recirculation flow for an increase in swirl intensity. The hot combustion zone is also increased at the downstream zone by recirculation flow because of an increase in swirl intensity which results in higher centrifugal force. The OH and CH radical intensities of reaction zone decrease with carbon dioxide addition because the carbon dioxide plays a role of diluted gas in the reaction zone.
