Based on the inherent relationship between dc-bus voltage and grid feeding active power, two dc-bus voltage regulators with different references are adopted for a grid-connected PV inverter operating in both normal grid voltage mode and low grid voltage mode. In the proposed scheme, an additional dc-bus voltage regulator paralleled with maximum power point tracking controller is used to guarantee the reliability of the low voltage ride-through (LVRT) of the inverter. Unlike conventional LVRT strategies, the proposed strategy does not require detecting grid voltage sag fault in terms of realizing LVRT. Moreover, the developed method does not have switching operations. The proposed technique can also enhance the stability of a power system in case of varying environmental conditions during a low grid voltage period. The operation principle of the presented LVRT control strategy is presented in detail, together with the design guidelines for the key parameters. Finally, a 3 kW prototype is built to validate the feasibility of the proposed LVRT strategy.
A class-D audio amplifier for a digital hearing aid is described. The class-D amplifier operates with a pulse-code modulated (PCM) digital input and consists of an interpolation filter, a digital sigma-delta modulator (SDM), and an analog SDM, along with an H-bridge power switch. The noise of the power switch is suppressed by feeding it back to the input of the analog SDM. The interpolation filter removes the unwanted image tones of the PCM input, improving the linearity and power efficiency. The class-D amplifier is implemented in a 0.13-${\mu}m$ CMOS process. The maximum output power delivered to the receiver (speaker) is 1.19 mW. The measured total harmonic distortion plus noise is 0.015%, and the dynamic range is 86.0 dB. The class-D amplifier consumes 304 ${\mu}W$ from a 1.2-V power supply.

In this paper, we extracted relevant patent data and conducted statistical analysis to understand the technical development trend related to Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) for Light Rail Transit (LRT). Recently, with the development of WPT technologies, the Light Rail Transit (LRT) industry is concentrating on applying WPT to the power supply system of trains because of their advantages compared wired counterpart, such as low maintenance cost and high stability. This technology is divided into three areas: wireless feeding and collecting technology, high-frequency power converter technology and orbital and infrastructure technology. From each specific area, key words in patent document were extracted by TF-IDF method and analyzed by social network. In the keyword network, core word of each specific technology were extracted according to their degree centrality. Then, the multi-word phrases were also built to represent the concept of core technologies. Finally, based on the analysis results, the development strategies for each specifics technical area of WPT in LRT filed will be provided.
The technology of supplying the electric power by wireless power transfer (WPT) is expected for the next generation power feeding system since it can supply the power to portable devices without any connectors through large air gap. As such a technology based on strongly coupled electromagnetic resonators is possible to deliver the large power and recharge them seamlessly; it has been considered as a noble option to wireless power charging system in the various power applications. Recently, various HTS wires have now been manufactured for demonstrations of transmission cables, motors, MAGLEV, and other electrical power components. However, since the HTS magnets have a lower index n value intrinsically, they are required to be charged from external power system through leads or internal power system. The portable area is limited as well as the cryogen system is bulkier. Thus, we proposed a novel design of wireless power charging system for superconducting HTS magnet (WPC4SM) based on resonance coupling method. As the novel system makes possible a wireless power charging using copper resonance coupled coils, it enables to portable charging conveniently in the superconducting applications. This paper presented the conceptual design and operating characteristics of WPC4SM using different shapes' copper resonance coil. The proposed system consists of four components; RF generator of 370 kHz, copper resonance coupling coils, impedance matching (IM) subsystem and HTS magnet including rectifier system.

A power amplifier of 2.4 GHz ISM band is designed to implement a transmitter system. High efficiency amplifiers can be implemented as class E or class F amplifiers. This study has designed a 20 W high efficiency class E amplifier that has simple circuit structure in order to utilize for the ISM band application. The impedance matching circuit was designed by class E design theory and circuit simulation. The designed amplifier has the output power of 44.2 dBm and the power added efficiency of 69% at 2.45 GHz. In order to apply 30 dBm input power to the designed power amplifier, voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) and driving amplifier have been fabricated for the input feeding circuit. The measurement of the power amplifier shows 43.2 dBm output and 65% power added efficiency. This study can be applied to the design of power amplifiers for various wireless communication systems such as wireless power transfer, radio jamming device and high power transmitter.
This paper presents harmonic evaluation of an IAT(Intra Airport Transit) system in Incheon International Airport. It will be used electric vehicles with 80 kW per car that are produced Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd, and one car is constructed with SIV(Static Inverter), VVVF controller and two induction motor. The operated vehicles in the IAT system are rapidly changing DC load and at a feeding substation, 3-phase electric power is transferred to DC 750 V by rectifier. Since, vehicles are also changing continuously, the voltages for the load fluctuate in the IAT system, and moreover, the fluctuating voltages generate high-order har -monies. This means that there is the difficulty in maintaining power quality in KEPCO systems' side. Therefore, the power quality of the IAT system in Incheon International Airport is evaluated using PSCAD/EMTDC simulator in the paper The THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) of voltages and TDD(Total Demand Distortion) of currents, indices are calculated for the IAT system using the results of PSCAD/EMTDC dynamic simulation.

In this paper, a two-switch high frequency flyback transformer linked zero voltage soft switching PWM DC-DC power converter implemented for distributed DC- feeding power conditioning supplies is proposed and discussed. This switch mode power converter circuit is mainly based on two main active power semiconductor switches and a main flyback high frequency transformer linked DC-DC converter in which, two passive lossless quasi-resonant snubbers with pulse current regeneration loops for energy recovery to the DC supply voltages composed of a three winding auxiliary high frequency pulse transformer, auxiliary capacitors and auxiliary diodes for inductive energy recovery discharge blocking due to snubber capacitors are introduced to achieve zero voltage soft switching from light to full load conditions. It is clarified that the passive resonant snubber-assisted soft switching PWM DC-DC power converter has some advantages such as simple circuit configuration, low cost, simple control scheme, high efficiency and lowered noises due to the soft switching commutation. Its operating principle is also described using each mode equivalent circuit. To determine the optimum resonant snubber circuit parameters, some practical design considerations are discussed and evaluated in this paper. Moreover, through experimentation the practical effectiveness of the proposed soft switching PWM DC-DC power converter using IGBTs is evaluated and compared with a hard switching PWM DC-DC power converter.
In this paper, we have proposed a magnetic resonant 6.78MHz WPT(wireless power transfer) technique which can be applied to a fixed transmitter and a receiver of varying relative distance and coil alignment, Power transmission characteristics are studied with the relative distance and misalignment ration of coil area between the transmitting and receiving coils. The coils are designed with the size of 60×80mm2 by direct feeding method, and the characteristics are derived with the maximum relative distance of 50mm and horizontal area misalignment state of 0-40mm misalignment of coil center axis in the XY plane. The power transmission characteristics are compared between the 3D EM simulation and the measured data, and the power transmission shows larger than -3dB performance with the vertical distance of up to 30mm and 50% area misalignmment ratio. This work showsthe transmission characteristics according to relative distance and misalignment state between the cols and that direct feeding has advantage for the short relative distance and small misalignment ratio.
