A Framework for Computerized Human Error Analysis System - Focused on the Railway Industry (철도사고 인적오류 분석을 위한 지원시스템 프레임웍 설계)

  • Human errors are now considered as the most significant source of accidents or incidents in large-scale systems such as aircraft, vessels, railway, and nuclear power plants. As 61% of the train accidents in Korea railway involving collisions, derailments and fires were caused by human errors, there is a strong need for a systematic research that can help to prevent human errors. Although domestic railway operating companies use a variety of methods for analyzing human errors, there is much room for improvement. Especially, because most of them are based on written papers, there is a definite need for a well-developed computerized system supporting human error analyzing tasks. The purpose of this study is to propose a framework for a computerized human error analysis system focused on the railway industry on the basis of human error analysis mechanism. The proposed framework consists of human error analysis (HEA) module, similar accident tracking (SAT) module, cause factor recommendation (CFR) module, cause factor management (CFM) module, and statistics (ST) module.

Automatic Detection System for Dangerous Abandoned Objects Based on Vision Technology (비전 기술에 기반한 위험 유기물의 자동 검출 시스템)

  • Abandoned objects should be treated as possibly dangerous things for public areas until they turn out to be safe because explosive material or chemical substance is intentionally contained in them for public terrors. For large public areas such as airports or train stations, there are limits in man-power for security staffs to check all the monitors for covering the entire area under surveillance. This is the basic motivation of developing the automatic detection system for dangerous abandoned objects based on vision technology. In this research, well-known DBE is applied to stably extract background images and the HOG algorithm is adapted to discriminate between human and stuff for object classification. To show the effectiveness of the proposed system, experiments are carried out in detecting intrusion for a forbidden area and alarming for abandoned objects in a room under surveillance.

Anomaly Detection of Big Time Series Data Using Machine Learning (머신러닝 기법을 활용한 대용량 시계열 데이터 이상 시점탐지 방법론 : 발전기 부품신호 사례 중심)

  • Anomaly detection of Machine Learning such as PCA anomaly detection and CNN image classification has been focused on cross-sectional data. In this paper, two approaches has been suggested to apply ML techniques for identifying the failure time of big time series data. PCA anomaly detection to identify time rows as normal or abnormal was suggested by converting subjects identification problem to time domain. CNN image classification was suggested to identify the failure time by re-structuring of time series data, which computed the correlation matrix of one minute data and converted to tiff image format. Also, LASSO, one of feature selection methods, was applied to select the most affecting variables which could identify the failure status. For the empirical study, time series data was collected in seconds from a power generator of 214 components for 25 minutes including 20 minutes before the failure time. The failure time was predicted and detected 9 minutes 17 seconds before the failure time by PCA anomaly detection, but was not detected by the combination of LASSO and PCA because the target variable was binary variable which was assigned on the base of the failure time. CNN image classification with the train data of 10 normal status image and 5 failure status images detected just one minute before.

  • It is very important to determine specifications of components included in the drive-train of vehicles at the initial design stage. In this study, component sizing process and performance analysis for Extended-Range Electric Vehicles (E-REV) are discussed based on the foundation of determined system configuration and performance target. This process shows sizing results of an electric driving motor, a final drive gear ratio and a battery capacity for target performance including All Electric Range (AER) limit. For E-REV driving mode, the constant output power of a Gen-set (Engine+Generator) is analyzed in order to sustain State of Charge (SOC) of the battery system.

  • Nowadays, first objectives of business activity is to develop competitive power by means of satisfying customer's needs. So, it is necessary to educate and train personnel in call-center in order to develop their job ability and latent ability. Especially departments of call-marketing or tele-marketing in domestic university have established for support of professionals had systematic and professional abilities In this paper, we analyze curricula in university for training call-center. Also, we analyze important subjects in similar departments of university and course descriptions based on educational objectives in college and university.

  • The measurement system is composed of the industrial computers installed in the console and the measurement racks mounted on each car. It is utilized to accumulate the data by the communication card and the optical cable. The optical cable and power cable are coupled at the connector located in joint of train to make easy to disconnect car each other. The signal conditioner is designed to choose and to extend the channel for each sensor readily, In this study, the programs for measurement and analysis were also developed to understand the traction system characteristics of TTX. Using this measurement system, we studied that acceleration test, re-powering test and gradually powering test. From the test results, we saw the performances of the traction systems are normal.

  • 열차가 주행하는 선로에 설치되는 궤도회로는 레일 자체를 전기회로의 일부로 사용하여 일정 구간 내의 차량 유무를 판단하기 위한 회로이다. 국내의 경우 사용 주파수에 따라 전원전압 주파수의 짝수 고조파 대역을 사용하는 고속선 궤도회로와 홀수 고조파 대역을 이용하는 일반선 궤도회로로 구분할 수 있다. 이러한 궤도회로가 설치된 선로를 주행하는 고속차량의 주전력변환장치 컨버터는 단위 역률 제어를 수행하기 위하여 전원전압의 홀수 배수의 스위칭 주파수를 가지고 있기 때문에 컨버터 동작 시 가선전류에 고조파 전류가 생성된다. 이 때 컨버터부에서 발생되는 고조파 전류의 주파수와 궤도회로의 사용 주파수 대역이 일치하는 경우에 궤도회로의 오작동을 유발할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 입력 컨버터부에서 사용하는 스위칭 주파수를 운행 구간에 따라 가변시켜 궤도회로 간섭 고조파 성분을 제어하는 방법을 제안하고 시험을 통해 성능을 확인하였다.

  • In April 1, 2004, age of high-speed railway was opened to korea railroad. The railroad is a means of large transportation which has many talents such as a safety and a regularity. That is a results from various confidential performance tests and evaluations of the system. The railroad system consist of various subsystems - vehicle, power supply, signal, communications, track structures, operations, etc. Among them, as an item of safety evaluation there is a measurement of wheel/rail farce, so called a measurement of derailment coefficient. This is a very important item because a derailment of a train will bring about a big accident. Especially it is more important in high speed rail of which operation speed is over two times as fast as existing rail. In this paper, examined speed elevation possibility use the korean style high speed railway vehicle for reduce the running time of high-speed railway between high speed line and conventional line.

  • Dual mass flywheel is the newly developed flywheel system which reduces the noise and vibration and make a better and comfortable ride of cars by adding inertia mass and damping device. However, verification of performance for this system should be carried out since this system is under developing status in our country. Especially, the durability for each part of this system should be guaranteed. Durable properties of driver plate which is the key component of dual mass flywheel were first investigated both in the raw (SCM435 in JIS) and heat-treated material. In addition, fatigue life analysis of driver plate was preformed in the real condition and the results were verified by comparison with the results of rig test.

Development of Transmission Simulator for High-Speed Tracked Vehicles (고속 무한궤도 차량용 변속기 시뮬레이터 개발)

  • Electronic control technologies that have long been developed for passenger cars spread to construction equipment and agricultural vehicles because of its outstanding performance achieved by embedded software. Especially, system program of transmission control unit (TCU) plays a crucial role for the superb shift quality, driving performance and fuel efficiency, etc. Since the control algorithm is embedded in software that is rarely analyzed, development of such a TCU cannot be conducted by conventional reverse engineering. Transmission simulator is a kind of electronic device that simulates the electric signals including driver operation command and output of various sensors installed in transmission. Standalone TCU can be run in normal operation mode with the signals provided by transmission simulator. In this research, transmission simulator for the tracked vehicle TCU is developed for the analysis of shift control algorithm from the experiments with standalone TCU. It was confirmed that shift experimental data for the simulator setup conditions can be used for the analysis of control algorithms on proportional solenoid valves and shift map.
