  • In this paper, we consider conjugacy of subgroups of some split metacyclic groups of odd prime power order to determine the numbers of conjugacy classes of subgroups of those groups. The study was motivated by the linear isomorphism problem of metacyclic primitive linear groups.

EMI 저감을 위해 분할된 전원/접지 평판 구조에서의 방사성 방출 분석 (Analysis of Split Power/Ground Plane Structures for Radiated EMI Reduction)

  • 본 논문에서는 시스템 모듈에서 발생하는 EMI를 줄이기 위해 분할된 전원/접지 평판 구조에 의해 발생하는 방사성 방출(Radiated emission)을 분석하였다. 분석을 위해 다양한 조건을 갖는 시험 기판(Test board)에 대한 자기장과 전기장을 시뮬레이션하고 측정하여 비교하였다. 이 분석 결과는 입력 신호의 주파수 대역에서 반사계수의 위상이 $0^{\circ}$에 근접하도록 하며, 입력 신호의 주파수와 분할된 전원/접지 평판 구조의 공진주파수가 일치하지 않도록 분할된 접지 갭의 폭과 위치를 결정함으로써 방사성 방출을 줄일 수 있음을 보여준다. 또한, 스티칭 커패시터(Stitching capacitor)를 사용하여 방사성 방출을 저감시킬 수 있으며, 방사성 방출을 효과적으로 저감시키기 위해 입력 신호의 주파수에서 반사계수의 크기를 낮추고 위상이 $0^{\circ}$에 근접하도록 스티칭 커패시터의 값과 위치를 결정할 필요가 있음을 알 수 있다.

동력 분기 하이브리드 전기 자동차의 운행 모드 시뮬레이션 (Operation Modes of a Power Split Hybrid Electric Vehicle)

  • The power split hybrid powertrain is considered to be one of the most prospective configuration for the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV). Toyota Prius, representing this type of vehicle, showed outstanding performances in fuel efficiency, emission reduction and acceleration. The excellence is largely due to the fact that it utilizes almost all operation modes of HEV. Those modes include ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle) driving, idle stop, fuel cut-off, power assist, active charging, regenerative braking and so forth. In this paper, a few of the mode operations were simulated using AVL Cruise. Also, control logics to operate the powertrain in each mode were developed. The states of powertrain components were displayed and analyzed. By controlling the three components (engine, motor and generator), it was possible to run the powertrain in several hybrid operation modes.

Experimental Study on the Input Coupled type CVT combined a Differential Gear and V-Belt type CVU

  • A continuously variable transmission(CVT) mechanism composed of one differential gear unit and one continuously variable unit(CVU) can be classified according to the coupling of CVU and the direction of power flows. The mechanism has many advantages which are the decrease of CVT size, the increase of overall efficiency, the extension of speed ratio range and generation of geared neutral. The CVT mechanism considered here is the input coupled type which combines the functions of a 2K-H I type differential gear unit and a V-belt type CVU. One shaft of the CVU is connected directly to the input shaft and another shaft of it is linked to the differential gear unit. It is shown that some fundamental relations(speed ratios, power flows and efficiencies) for twelve mechanisms previously described are valid by various experimental studies, six of them produce a power circulation and the others produce a power split. Some useful comparisons between theoretical analysis and experimental results are presented. General properties also are discussed, which connect following power flow modes : (a) power circulation mode; (b) power split mode.

DC-Link Voltage Balance Control in Three-phase Four-wire Active Power Filters

  • The three-phase four-wire shunt active power filter (APF) is an effective method to solve the harmonic problem in three-phase four-wire power systems. In addition, it has two possible topologies, a four-leg inverter and a three-leg inverter with a split-capacitor. There are some studies investigating DC-link voltage control in three-phase four-wire APFs. However, when compared to the four-leg inverter topology, maintaining the balance between the DC-link upper and lower capacitor voltages becomes a unique problem in the three-leg inverter with a split-capacitor topology, and previous studies seldom pay attention to this fact. In this paper, the influence of the balance between the two DC-link voltages on the compensation performance, and the influence of the voltage balance controller on the compensation performance, are analyzed. To achieve the balance between the two DC-link capacitor voltages, and to avoid the adverse effect the voltage balance controller has on the APF compensation performance, a new DC-link voltage balance control strategy for the three-phase four-wire split-capacitor APF is proposed. Representative simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the analysis and the proposed DC-link voltage balance control strategy.

  • A free piston and free displacer (FPFD) Stirling cryocooler for cooling infrared and cryo-sensor is currently under development at Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials. In this study, performance tests of stirling cryocooler with different length of split tube were performed to get characteristics of cryocooler. The Experimental results show the Stirling cryocooler with small volume of split tube has higher cooling power and faster response time.

유성기어 효율을 고려한 입력분기 기반 하이브리드 전기자동차의 동력전달 효율 해석 (Analysis of Powertrain Efficiency for Input Split Type Hybrid Electric Vehicle considering Planetary-gear Efficiency)

  • In this paper, the powertrain efficiency is analyzed for the input split type hybrid electric vehicle. For considering the powertrain loss, the power loss models of planetary gear and motor are applied. And, the mathematic equations of powertrain speed and torque are found by using the lever analogy. With the above models and equations, the powertrain efficiency is analyzed for the 0 to 180 km/h vehicle velocity range. From the analysis results, it is found that the transmission efficiency with the power loss of planetary gear is smaller maximum 2.1% than the transmission efficiency without the power loss of planetary gear.

Split-Capacitor Dual-Active-Bridge 컨버터 (Split-Capacitor Dual-Active-Bridge Converter)

  • A split-capacitor (SC) dual-active-bridge (DAB) converter is proposed in this study. The DC-link capacitors of input and output are split in the proposed converter. The primary and secondary windings of transformer are connected to the midpoints of the DC-links. Hence, the SC DAB converter can inherently prevent transformer from saturation. Although the switch current stress of the proposed converter is twice that of the conventional DAB converter, the switch voltage stress is reduced by half. Therefore, the proposed converter can reduce switching loss and achieve high efficiency in a high switching frequency. Given the SC structure, the proposed converter can readily be connected to neutral-point-clamped- or half-bridge-type converters. The topology of the proposed converter is presented and the operating principle is analyzed in detail. A 3-kW hardware prototype was built and tested to verify the performance of the proposed converter.

균형된 실험계획법에서 그래프를 활용한 실험의 크기의 효율적인 결정 (Efficient determination of the size of experiments by using graphs in balanced design of experiments)

  • Purpose: The algorithm described in Lim(1998) is available to determine the sample size directly given specified significance level, power and signal-to-noise ratio. We research on the efficient determination of the sample size by visual methods. Methods: We propose three graphs for investigating the mutual relationship between the sample size r, power $1-{\beta}$ and the detectable signal-to-noise ratio ${\Delta}$. First graph shows the relationship between ${\Delta}$ and $1-{\beta}$ for the given r and it can be checked whether the power is sufficient enough. Second graph shows the relationship between r and ${\Delta}$ for the given power $1-{\beta}$. Third graph shows the relationship between r and $1-{\beta}$ for the given ${\Delta}$. It can be checked that which effects are sensitive to the efficient sample size by investigating those graphs. Results: In factorial design, randomized block design and the split plot design how to determine the sample size directly given specified significance level, power and signal-to-noise ratio is programmed by using R. A experiment to study the split plot design in Hicks(1982) is used as an example. We compare the sample sizes calculated by randomized block design with those by split plot design. By using graphs, we can check the possibility of reducing the sample size efficiently. Conclusion: The proposed visual methods can help an engineer to make a proper plan to reduce the sample size.

자기 공진 기반의 무선전력전송 시스템에서 송수신 공진기의 구조 차이에 따른 달성 가능한 효율 비교 (Comparison of Achievable Efficiency for Different Resonator Structures in a Magnetic Resonance-based Wireless Power Transfer System)

  • 자기 공진 기반의 무선전력전송 시스템에서, 송수신 공진기가 가까워짐에 따라 전력비 효율이 급격히 감소하는 주파수 스플리팅 현상은 근거리에서 안정적인 전력 전송을 위하여 반드시 해결해야 하는 문제이다. 본 논문에서는 등가회로 모델을 이용하여 무선전력전송 시스템을 모델링하고, 전력비 효율 및 주파수 스플리팅이 발생하는 한계 커플링 계수($k_{split}$)를 도출하였다. 또한, Advanced Design System을 이용하여 회로 수준의 시뮬레이션을 수행하였으며, 이를 통해 k>$k_{split}$ 의 환경에서 송수신 공진기의 구조에 따라 달성 가능한 전력비 효율이 다름을 보였다. 동일한 구조의 공진기의 경우 k가 커지더라도 높은 수준의 전력비 효율을 유지하는 반면, 상이한 구조의 공진기의 경우 k가 커짐에 따라 전력비 효율도 감소함을 확인했다. 그러므로 k>$k_{split}$를 만족하는 근거리 환경에서 안정적인 전력비 효율을 달성하기 위해서는 상이한 구조의 공진기보다는 동일한 구조의 공진기를 사용하는 것이 더 효율적이다.
