The performance prediction software developed in this paper is a process analysis tool that enables one to foretell the behavior of processes when certain conditions of operation are altered. The immediate objective of this research is to predict the process characteristics of combined heat and power plant under varying operating conditions. A cogeneration virtual power plant that mimics the mechanical performance of the actual plant was constructed and the performance of the power plant was predicted in the following varying atmospheric conditions: temperature, pressure and humidity. This resulted in a positive outcome where the performance of the power plant under changing conditions were correctly predicted as well as the calorific value of low calorific gas fuel such as shale gas and PNG. The performance prediction tool can detect the operation characteristics of the power plant through the performance index analysis and thus propose the operation method taking into consideration the changes in environmental conditions.
The power flow of an 8-speed automatic transmission was analyzed using a lever analogy for the manufacturing of planetary gears. From the analysis, we found that the engine power was split between the first and second double-pinion planetary gears (DPPG1 and DPPG2), and was then passed to the DPPG3 for the fourth speed. For the fifth speed, the engine power was split between the DPPG1 and DPPG3. For the speeds 6-8, the engine power was passed only to SPPG2, while the seventh speed contained the power circulation.
Even though efficiency of coal-fired power plant is proportional to operating temperature, increasement of operating temperature is limited by a technological level of each power plant components. It is an alternative plan to increase operating pressure up to ultra super critical point for efficiency enhancement. It is difficult to control in that pressure within safety guideline that many unexpected phenomena are happen because that region is highly nonlinear region. In this paper, Advanced process control algorithm, ARX and Fuzzifier, is introduced. Then power plant control logics applied Unit Step Optimizer, which is combination of ARX and Fuzzifier are proposed. Its performance is tested and analyzed with design guide line.

Various Class-E CMOS power amplifiers for GSM applications are presented. A stage-convertible transformer for a dual mode power amplifier is proposed to increase efficiency in the low-output power region. An integrated passive device(IPD) process is used to reduce combiner losses. A split secondary 1:2 transformer with IPD process is designed to obtain efficient and symmetric power combining. A quasi-four-pair structure of CMOS PA is also proposed to overcome the complexities of power combining.
The effects of radio frequency (RF) source power for decoupled plasma nitridation (DPN) process on the electrical properties and Fowler-Nordheim (FN) stress immunity of the oxynitride gate dielectrics for deep nano-technology devices has been investigated. With increase of RF source power, the threshold voltage (Vth) of a NMOS transistor(TR) decreased and that of a PMOS transistor increased, indicating that the increase of nitrogen incorporation in the oxynitride layer due to higher RF source power induced more positive fixed charges. The improved off-current characteristics and wafer uniformity of PMOS Vth were observed with higher RF source power. FN stress immunity, however, has been degenerated with increasing RF source power, which was attributed to the increased trap sites in the oxynitride layer. With the experimental results, we could optimize the DPN process minimizing the power consumption of a device and satisfying the gate oxide reliability.
In this paper, the application of power Quality monitoring based on Sampled Value(SV) which is introduced in the IEC61850 International Standard for substation communication are discussed. Firstly, while Merging Unit(MU) is designed as a process level device transmitting sensor data, the practical problems such as time delay compensation and optical fiber communication are encountered. Secondly, the Sampled Value message which is proper to a power quality monitoring system is presented. Because the power quality monitoring system requests less time-critical service compared to protection and control applications, the Sampled Value service message structure is introduced to improve efficiency. Lastly, the power quality monitoring server having various power quality analysis functions is suggested to verify the performance of Merging Unit With the diverse experiments, it is proved that the process bus distributed solution is flexible and economic for the power quality monitoring.
After the spread of the data collection devices such as smart meters, energy data is increasingly collected in a variety of ways, and its importance continues to grow. However, due to technical or practical limitations, errors such as missing or outliers in the data occur during data collection process. Especially in the case of customer-related data, billing problems may occur, so energy companies are conducting various research to process such data. In addition, efforts are being made to create added value from data, which makes it difficult to provide such services unless reliability of data is guaranteed. In order to solve these challenges, this research analyzes prior research related to bad data processing specifically in the energy field, and propose new missing value processing methods to improve the reliability and field utilization of energy data.

Energy supply is increasingly showing up as a major issue for electricity supply, transportation, settlement, and process heat industrial supply including hydrogen production. Nuclear power is part of the solution. For electricity supply, as exemplified in Finland and France, the EPR brings an immediate answer; HTR could bring another solution in some specific cases. For other supply, mostly heat, the HTR brings a solution inaccessible to conventional nuclear power plants for very high or even high temperature. As fossil fuels costs increase and efforts to avoid generation of Greenhouse gases are implemented, a market for nuclear generated process heat will be developed. Following active developments in the 80's, HTR have been put on the back burner up to 5 years ago. Light water reactors are widely dominating the nuclear production field today. However, interest in the HTR technology was renewed in the past few years. Several commercial projects are actively promoted, most of them aiming at electricity production. ANTARES is today AREVA's response to the cogeneration market. It distinguishes itself from other concepts with its indirect cycle design powering a combined cycle power plant. Several reasons support this design choice, one of the most important of which is the design flexibility to adapt readily to combined heat and power applications. From the start, AREVA made the choice of such flexibility with the belief that the HTR market is not so much in competition with LWR in the sole electricity market but in the specific added value market of cogeneration and process heat. In view of the volatility of the costs of fossil fuels, AREVA's choice brings to the large industrial heat applications the fuel cost predictability of nuclear fuel with the efficiency of a high temperature heat source tree of Greenhouse gases emissions. The ANTARES module produces 600 MWth which can be split into the required process heat, the remaining power drives an adapted prorated electric plant. Depending on the process heat temperature and power needs, up to 80% of the nuclear heat is converted into useful power. An important feature of the design is the standardization of the heat source, as independent as possible of the process heat application. This should expedite licensing. The essential conditions for success include: ${\bullet}$ Timely adapted licensing process and regulations, codes and standards for such application and design ${\bullet}$ An industry oriented R&D program to meet the technological challenges making the best use of the international collaboration. Gen IV could be the vector ${\bullet}$ Identification of an end user(or a consortium of) willing to fund a FOAK
In this paper we proposed backward fuzzy Petri-net to diagnoses faults in power systems by using the time sequence information of protection system. As the complexity of power systems increases, especially in the case of multiple faults or incorrect operation of protective devices, fault diagnosis requires new and systematic methods to the reasoning process, which improves both its accuracy and its efficiency. The fuzzy Petri-net models of protection system are composed of the operating process of protective devices and the fault diagnosis process. Fault diagnosis model, which makes use of the nature of fuzzy Petri-net, is developed to overcome the drawbacks of methods that depend on operator knowledge. The proposed method can reduce processing time and increase accuracy when compared with the traditional methods. And also this method covers online processing of real-time data from SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)
The nonlinear finite element analysis for deformation characteristics of a power steering hose during the swaging process is performed in order to investigate the stress and the strain levels of the hose components. Power steering hose consists of components such as rubber hose, nylon, nipple and sleeve. Moreover, the numerical analysis requires the consideration of material, geometry and boundary nonlinearities. To evaluate the rubber hose strength, the measured stresses and strains are compared with tension and compression test data. Contact force is also a principal factor to examine whether rubber hose is break away from sleeve and nipple or not.
