전력감시 및 이상전력 차단 기능을 갖는 저전력 전력선통신 모뎀 개발 (Development of Low Power PLC Modem for Monitoring of Power Consumption and Breaking of Abnormal Power)

  • Powerline communication is the data signal which is modulated by carrier frequency through the installed powerline at in-home or office is transmitted and received signals are separated into data signal with using band-pass filter which cent-frequency is carrier frequency. The home gateway, an equipment which works as an gateway for ubiquitous home network, relays all functions of a home network. The home gateway must always be connected in order to provide seamless services. However it gives unfavorable power consumption. Therefore the needs for working in maximum power saving mode while there is no data traffic and for invoking to the normal function when it is necessary. So, in this paper we survey the development of low power PLC modem monitoring of power consumption and breaking abnormal power in the home Network.

  • This paper introduces a supplementary module reducing the standby-power of Power Line Communication(PLC) modem, one of the network equipments that take up much of the stand-by power. This supplementary module consists of three parts, such as a compare part, a control part, and a switch part. This supplementary module controls the power going from the power supply element into PLC modem, which brings about the effect of standby-power reduction. It is assured that over $30\%$ standby-power reduction is estimated when we applied this module to a low-speedy PLC control modem.

  • 국내 에너지의 30%이상이 조명부문에서 소비되고 있어서 그 소비량과 $CO_2$ 배출량은 점차적으로 늘어날 수밖에 없다. 이와 같은 상황에서 스마트그리드 기반의 전등 제어시스템 구축에는 중요한 의미가 있다. 결과적으로 오늘날 산업현장에서 사용되는 전력선망 통신모뎀과 응용 단말기들을 활용, 본 논문은 PC기반의 전력선망 통신 제어시스템을 구현해봄과 동시에 다양한 통신 테스트 장치 및 도구로 활용하는데 유용할 것이다. 실험을 위해서 사용되는 모뎀은 ZIC 프로토콜 기반의 플래넷 제품을 활용하고 응용프로그램은 랩뷰(LabView)를 사용한다. 그 결과는 주로 저속 전력선 통신에 의한 장치 제어에 초점이 맞추어져 있으며, 전력선 통신 실험을 위한 전력선 통신 테스트 장치로 각종 실험을 수행할 수 있다.

  • This paper proposes a home control system architecture that have network configuration function. The proposed home control system architecture is implemented with partly hardware and software. For implementation of this system architecture, we developed ECONICS which is home automation controller. ECONICS consists of main board and communication modem. This communication modem supply the power line communication. The physical layer and the MAC layer software of EIA 709.1 standard protocol are implemented in communication modem. The upper layer software of EIA 709.1 standard protocol and home configuration software for home network installation, management, diagnostics, control and monitoring are implemented in main board of ECONICS. We verified the commercial feasibility of the proposed system through the home network configuration and operation. As a result, we have concluded that the proposed home control system architecture provides all the key function necessary to easily manage and control home network nodes.

  • In this paper, we propose a new node architecture LonWorh control Network for home network system environmint using power line communications. Using conventional Lon Work technology is a many disputable points for home network. LonWork network system needs high-cost development equipment. Moreover, conventional Lon Work system can not implement high-grade algorithms and variety application operation. because of the limitation of processing ability in Neuron chip. For that reason, the proposed structure is applicable to low-cost and more complex applications which are impossible in home network using conventional Lonworks structure. The proposed structure is implemented with some hardware and かone software for power line home network. The physical layer and the MAC layer of the LonTalk protocol within ton Work are implemented in hardware, which decreases the development costs communication processor. The upper of link layer of the LonTalk protocol is implemented with software, which decreases the development costs of software and increases the flexibility of tile system and increases the extension of the system. We verified the commercial feasibility of the proposed system through the power line tests with the existing LonWorks network in home network. As a result, it is concluded that the proposed architecture provides increasing flexibility and decreasing cost of the system.

  • In the paper we study for the ubiquitous networking based on power line communication technology with digital signal transmission. The necessity of research for using resources in the network effectively is being increase as network to use the PLC with smart grid networking. The data rate has compared with implemented modem 250Mbps in the pixel resolution and bandwidth, which has degraded with 80%. We also proposed for design of high-definition digital signal transceiver, which has used in the network between digital multimedia with PLC. Using resources in the network effectively can be also verified with this research.

  • 본 논문에서는 전력선 통신 (PLC: Power Line Communication) 시스템의 네트워크 데이터 처리량 (throughput)을 구내 (In-building) 환경에서 연구하였다. 전력선 채널은 주파수 선택적 페이딩 주파수 응답을 가지므로 감쇠 및 잡음의 영향을 최소화하기 위해서 adaptive bit loading 방식을 적용한 OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 변조 방식을 사용하였다. 구내 네트워크의 게이트웨이/CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) 전력선 통신 모뎀 사이의 전력선 통신 구간에서 처리할 수 있는 최대 데이터 처리량을 측정하기 위해 iperf 네트워크 성능 측정 툴을 이용하였고, TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) 윈도우 사이즈별 throughput을 분석하였다.

  • In this paper, a heterogeneous home network is designed and implemented based on the PLC (power line communications) and the IEEE 802.15.4. This paper presents the need of the heterogeneous home network and the convergence sub-layer. The convergence sub-layer is designed and implemented on the Xelline power line communication modem with IEEE 802.15.4 communication module.
