수전동 휠체어용 구동장치 개발 (Development of Driving System for Power Add-on Drive Wheelchair)

  • The recent power add-on drive wheelchairs (PADWs) provide greater physical activity and easier transportability and may be an excellent alternative for the typical manual and powered wheelchairs. The driving system consists of a motor and a motor driver is the most important component of the PADW In this paper, design, implementation, and testing of a driving system for a PADW are presented. To design the output power and torque for the driving system, the equation of motion has been investigated. The motor and driver were fabricated with precise machining and assembled to implement our prototype driving system. The dynamometer test has been carried out using the prototype in order to examine the torque of the system. The experimental results demonstrates that the designed driving system can provide enough output power and efficiency for utilization in a PADW.

  • In this paper, the study was conducted on the subject of the hybrid electric vehicles used by the military, and optimized the propulsion system for fuel economy considering energy supply to the mission equipments. For the analysis of the vehicles, a method based on the geometry and some assumptions was applied with basic vehicle dynamics. The sources of energy supply in the military hybrid electric vehicles are an engine, a battery and an ultra-capacitor. The optimal operation point among an engine, a battery and an ultra-capacitor can be found by minimizing energy consumption of driving power train and mission equipments. In the study, it was possible to find the optimal propulsion system by comparing fuel efficiency of the vehicles during the driving cycle.

Solar tower combined cycle plant with thermal storage: energy and exergy analyses

  • There has been a growing interest in the recent time for the development of solar power tower plants, which are mainly used for utility scale power generation. Combined heat and power (CHP) is an efficient and clean approach to generate electric power and useful thermal energy from a single heat source. The waste heat from the topping Brayton cycle is utilized in the bottoming HRSG cycle for driving steam turbine and also to produce process steam so that efficiency of the cycle is increased. A thermal storage system is likely to add greater reliability to such plants, providing power even during non-peak sunshine hours. This paper presents a conceptual configuration of a solar power tower combined heat and power plant with a topping air Brayton cycle. A simple downstream Rankine cycle with a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) and a process heater have been considered for integration with the solar Brayton cycle. The conventional GT combustion chamber is replaced with a solar receiver. The combined cycle has been analyzed using energy as well as exergy methods for a range of pressure ratio across the GT block. From the thermodynamic analysis, it is found that such an integrated system would give a maximum total power (2.37 MW) at a much lower pressure ratio (5) with an overall efficiency exceeding 27%. The solar receiver and heliostats are the main components responsible for exergy destruction. However, exergetic performance of the components is found to improve at higher pressure ratio of the GT block.

전기자동차용 고효율 승압형 DC/DC 컨버터 개발 (Development Of High Efficiency Boost DC/DC Converter For EV)

  • 본 논문에서는 전기자동차용 리액터리스 고효율 승압형 DC/DC컨버터를 제안한다. 제안한 컨버터는 1차측 Full Bridge의 모든 스위치에서 영전류 스위칭을 적용하여 턴 온/턴 오프시 스위칭 소자에 생기는 전력 손실을 감소시키므로서 효율을 개선한다. 그리고 ZCS(Zero Current Switching)를 위한 L-C공진 회로 중 리액턴스 성분을 1, 2차 절연을 위한 고조파 변압기의 누설인덕턴스 성분으로 대체함으로서 별도의 리액터를 추가하지 않기에 시스템 사이즈 및 비용을 줄일 수 있다. 제안된 컨버터의 타당성 검증을 위하여 본 논문에서는 PSIM을 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였으며 실제 5[KW]급 DC/DC컨버터를 제작하여 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과 제안된 컨버터의 효율이 매우 우수함을 확인하였다.

도허티 이론을 이용한 무선 네트워크 및 중계기용 전력증폭기의 효율 향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on Improving Efficiency of Power Amplifier using Doherty Theory for Wireless Network and Repeater)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 네트워크 장비에도 적용 가능한 WCDMA 중계기용 전력증폭기의 선형성 및 효율을 향상시키기 위한 도허티증폭기를 구현하였다. 입력 전력의 변화에 따라 고효율 전력증폭기를 구현하고자 능동 로드풀을 이용한 도허티 기술을 이용하고 기존의 증폭기의 낮은 효율 구간에서도 우수한 선형성과 고효율을 유지하도록 설계하였다. WCDMA 주파수 대역인 2.11$\~$2.17 CHz에서 CW 1-tone 실험 결과 치대 출력 전력 52.3 dBm에서 6dBm 백 오프 지점부터 50$\%$의 전력 부가 효율을 갖게 하여 기존의 AB급에 비해 13.3$\%$ 이상의 높은 효율을 가졌다. 또한 게이트 바이어스 조절을 통하여 선형성 개선의 최적 바이어스 점을 찾은 후 도허티증폭기에서는 4dB 이상의 IMD3가 개선됨을 알 수 있었다.

태양전지 최대전력 발생을 위한 다 평면 반사경 태양추적시스템 개발 (Development of Multi-flat Reflector Sun Tracking System for Sun Photocell Maximum Power Generation)

  • Recently, photovoltaic generator system is widely extended by energy policy of the government. Add to this, for high efficiency of power generation per natural light unit area is needed to sun tracking system. And it is needed to condensed light generator for reducer of equipment expense. As method of solving this problem, this paper is developed multi-flat reflector sun tracking system for sun photocell maximum power generation. The system is consisted of multi-flat reflector and two axes machinery and sun location perceiver and AVR controller. GaAs 3J cell generated 6.75 times power more than silicon cell by times condensing light system. As a result, condensing light system of multi-flat reflector generated maximum power and showed reducing costs to photovoltaic generator.

A Family of Non-Isolated Photovoltaic Grid Connected Inverters without Leakage Current Issues

  • Transformerless solar inverters have a higher efficiency than those with an isolation link. However, they suffer from a leakage current issue. This paper proposes a family of single phase six-switch transformerless inverter topologies with an ac bypass circuit to solve the leakage current problem. These circuits embed two unidirectional freewheeling current units into the midpoint of a full bridge inverter, to obtain a freewheeling current path, which separates the solar panel from the grid in the freewheeling state. The freewheeling current path contains significantly fewer devices and poor performance body diodes are not involved, leading to a higher efficiency. Meanwhile, it is not necessary to add a voltage balancing control method when compared with the half bridge inverter. Simulation and experiments are provided to validate the proposed topologies.

유채혼합유를 사용하는 기관에서 초음파에너지의 영향 (Effect of Ultrasonic Energy in the Engine using Diesel Fuel Blended Rape-seed Oil)

  • The effect of ultrasonic energy for diesel fuel and blend oil has been revealed in this paper. The experimental setup consisted of a high speed diesel engine with 4 cylinder, dynamometer and ultrasonic fuel feeding system. Ultrasonic energy was added to diesel fuel and blend oil, which is a blend of diesel fuel and rape-seed oil. As engine speed was changed, engine torque and power, brake specific fuel consumption and thermal efficiency were measured in detail. As the results, by adding ultrasonic energy to diesel fuel and blend oil, the engine performance was improved in range of the experiment. The effect of improvement on brake specific fuel consumption and thermal efficiency for blend oil is higher than that for diesel fuel. When ultrasonic energy was added to diesel fuel or blend oil, a rise in engine torque for diesel fuel was higher than that for blend oil, but the effect of ultrasonic energy was small. From these results, it may be desirable to add ultrasonic energy to blend oil for the use of blend oil to diesel engine.

  • In this paper, reactorless high efficiency boost DC/DC converter for EV is proposed. In proposed converter, improves efficiency because decrease power loss when the switches are turned on/off using zero current switching (ZCS) at all switch of primary full bridge. By replacing reactance ingredients of L-C resonance circuit for ZCS with leakage inductance ingredients of high frequency transformer, it reduces system size and expense because of not add special reactor. For validity verification of proposed converter, in the paper implements simulation using PSIM and perform experiment by making 5KW DC/DC converter. In experimental results, efficiency of proposed converter conformed superiority.

Add/drop Filter for CWDM Systems Using Side-coupled Long-period Fiber Gratings

  • We demonstrate a simple and effective wavelength-tunable add/drop filter suitable for coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) systems. The filter consists of two fibers in contact side by side, with identical long-period fiber gratings (LPG) in each fiber. The LPG couples the power in the fundamental core mode to one of the cladding modes, which is then coupled to the same order cladding mode in the other fiber through evanescent-field coupling between two fibers. Finally, the cladding mode in the second fiber is coupled to its core mode with the help of the other LPG. With an optimal longitudinal offset distance of 10 em, coupling efficiency as high as -1.68 dB and side lobes smaller than -24 dB were experimentally obtained. The experimental results agreed well with the theoretical ones. The operating wavelength of the proposed add/drop filter was tunable by varying the temperature. The temperature sensitivity was measured to be -0.43 nm/$^{\circ}C$.
