Transfer Impedence of Trip Chain with a Railway Mode Embedded - Using Seoul Metroplitan Transportation Card Data - (철도수단이 내재된 통행사슬의 환승저항 추정방안 - 수도권 교통카드자료를 활용하여 -)

  • This research uses public transportation card data to analyze the inter-regional transfer times, transfer frequencies, and transfer resistance that passengers experience during transit amongst the metropolitan public transportation modes. Currently, mode transfers between bus and rail are recorded up to five times during one transit movement by Trip Chain, facilitating greater comprehension of intermodal movements. However, lack of information on what arises during these transfers poses a problem in that it leads to an underestimation of transfer resistances on the Trip Chain. As such, a path choice model that reflects passenger movements during transit activities is created, which attains explanatory power on transfer resistance through its inclusion of transfer times and frequencies. The methodology adopted in this research is to first conceptualize the idea of metropolitan public transportation transfer, and in the case that mode transfers include the city-rail, to newly conceptualize the idea of transfer resistance using transportation card data. Also, the city-rail path choice model within the Trip Chain is constructed, with transfer time and frequency used to reevaluate transfer resistance. Further, in order to align bus and city-rail station administrative level small-zone coordinates to state and regional level mid-zone coordinates, the big node methdod is utilized. Finally, case studies on trip chains using at least one transfer onto the city-rail is used to determine the validity of the results obtained.

  • Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) is an efficient technology for 20th century communication system. The technology provides broadband speed without the need for cables and is based on the IEEE 802.16 standard(also called Wireless MAN). Mobile WiMAX is defined as IEEE802.16e which is advanced and efficient technology for mobile telecommunication rather than GSM, CDMA technology. In this work link budget calculation for WiMAX have been done. Cell range have been calculated over digital modulations and they are BPSK, QPSK and QAM. Here different types of models like Cost 231 model have been used for different types of areas like open, rural and urban areas and Erceg-Greenstein model for sub-urban areas. Effect of various parameters like frequency, base station antenna height, transmission power and SNR over cell range have been studied. Analysis have done for both uplink and downlink.

A Study on the Optimization of Anti-Jamming Trash Screen with Rake using by Response Surface Method (반응표면분석법을 이용한 제진기의 목메임 방지 개선 및 레이크 최적화)

  • A trash screen is installed in front of the inflow channel of a drainage pumping station, sewage treatment plant, and a power plant to block floating contaminants. The bottleneck phenomenon, which decreases the water inflow, causes damage to the damper as a result of clogging in between the screen if string type obstacles are not removed. In this paper, the apron was removed, and the screen was expanded, to prevent breakage of the bottleneck phenomenon and string type obstacles. This was designed using an extended rake by adding an inner rake in between the screen interspace to remove the bottleneck phenomenon and string type obstacles. To design the inner rake that satisfies the allowable stresses of the existing damper rake, the experiment points were determined according to the experimental design method using the inner rake vertical length and the thickness of the reinforced section as parameters. The use of the ANSYS static structural module and statistical analysis tool R software gives the optimized shape according to the response surface method. The relative error between the response surface analysis results and the simulation results was 1.63% of the determined optimal design-point rake length of 210.2 mm and the reinforcement section thickness of 2 mm. Through empirical experiments, a test rake was constructed to the actual size, and approximately 97% of the bottleneck phenomenon and string type obstacles could be removed.

Trial Burns of Low-Level Radioactive Wastes the Demonstration-Scale Incineration Plant at KAERI (한국원자력 연구소 실증소각시설에서의 저준위방사성폐기물 시험소각)

  • Behavior of radionuclides such $^{60}$ Co, $^{54}$ Mn and $^{137}$ Cs in the incineration Process was Studied by trial burns of simulated wastes with radio-isotope tracers. Behavior of nonvolatiles, $^{60}$ Co and $^{54}$ Mn, was similar to that of particulate matters in the process. Decontamination factors(DFs) for $^{60}$ Co and $^{54}$ Mn were 4.7$\times$10$^{5}$ and 6.2$\times$10$^{5}$ , respectively. Behavior of semivolatile radio-isotope, $^{137}$ Cs, was temperature dependent. DFs for $^{l37}$Cs at In different incineration temperature of 85$0^{\circ}C$ and $700^{\circ}C$ were 2.8$\times$10$^3$ and 2.6$\times$10$^4$, respectively. Trial bums of dry active waste(DAW) transported from nuclear power station(NPS) Kori 3,4 were also performed. DF for gross $\beta$/${\gamma}$ radioactivity in DAW was 1.1$\times$10$^{5}$ . This was a little higher than the estimated value, which was calculated from the tracer test results and nuclides distribution in the DAW. Average emission concentration was 0.019 Bq/N $m^3$, which could meet the maximal permissible concentration(MPC) in stack emission.n.

  • This paper deals with the cancellation performance of loop back interference signal in the case of multihop relay of 16-QAM received signal at the USN radio network. For this, it is necessary to the exchange of information with long distance located station by means of the relay function between the node in the USN environment. In the relay node, the loop-back interference signal which the retransmitting signal is feedback to the receiver side due to the antenna of transmitter and receiver are co-used or very colsely located or using the nonlinear device. Due to this signal, the performance of USN system are degraded which are using the limited resource of frequency and power. For improve this, it is necessary to applying the adaptive signal processing algorithm in order to cancellating the unwanted loop-back interference signal at the frontend of receiver in relaying node, we can get the better system and multi hop performance. In the adaptive signal processing, we considered the 16-QAM signal which has a good spectral efficiency, firstly, than, the QR-Array RLS algorithm was used that has a fairly good convergence property and the solving the finite length problem in the H/W implementation. Finaly, we confirmed that the good elimination performanc was confirmed by computer simulation in the learing cuved and received signal constellation compared to the conventional RLS.

Regional Path Re-selection Period Determination Method for the Energy Efficient Network Management in Sensor Networks applied SEF (통계적 여과 기법이 적용된 센서 네트워크에서 에너지 효율적인 네트워크 관리를 위한 영역별 경로 재설정 주기 결정 기법)

  • A large-scale sensor network usually operates in open and unattended environments, hence individual sensor node is vulnerable to various attacks. Therefore, malicious attackers can physically capture sensor nodes and inject false reports into the network easily through compromised nodes. These false reports are forwarded to the base station. The false report injection attack causes not only false alarms, but also the depletion of the restricted energy resources in a battery powered network. The statistical en-route filtering (SEF) mechanism was proposed to detect and drop false reports en route. In SEF, the choice of routing paths largely affect the energy consumption rate and the detecting power of the false report. To sustain the secure routing path, when and how to execute the path re-selection is greatly need by reason of the frequent network topology change and the nodes's limitations. In this paper, the regional path re-selection period determination method is proposed for efficient usage of the limited energy resource. A fuzzy logic system is exploited in order to dynamically determine the path re-selection period and compose the routing path. The simulation results show that up to 50% of the energy is saved by applying the proposed method.

  • IoT (Internet of Things) devices are often located in environments where indoor or underground, signals are difficult to reach. In addition, the transmission power is low, the base station should be designed to be able to receive signals even at low reception sensitivity. For this reason, a device having a poor channel condition can be transmitted at a low data rate using a low coding rate or repetition. When the coverage class is divided according to the channel condition and the data rate, the packet length may vary from one coverage class to another, and the performance of the slotted aloha random access may be degraded. We will focus on two methods of using shared-resource and seperate resources among multiple slotted aloha methods. In particular, when devices with different coverage classes use shared resources, performance of a device with a bad channel condition may deteriorate. Conversely, when using separate resources for each coverage class, there is a problem that congestion may occur which increases the number of devices that perform random access to one resource area. In this paper, we propose some methods to overcome this problem. This study is mainly focused on MTC devices, and is considered to be a high possibility of future development.

The effects of muscle activity of ambulance workers carrying a patient on a stretcher with or without helmets (구급대원의 헬멧 무게에 따른 들것 들고 내릴때 근활성도에 미치는 융합 요인분석)

  • Electromygram was measured in three different cases; not wearing of a helmet, wearing of a 920g helmet, and wearing of a 1310g helmet, and it was revealed that there was a high level of muscle activities on the opposite side (sternocleidomastoid muscle) while the head and the neck were moving right and left and muscle activities of the curve and of the hyperextension were found to be not significant. Especially, the presence of a helmet seemed to cause a difference in a level of muscle activities on the deltoid and erector spine muscles while lifting or lowering with a weight placed on the deniz backboard. Therefore, it would be possible to assume that this newly developed smart helmet would not affect muscles around the necks of paramedics if they do not move their necks and heads right and left while lowering or lifting a patient using the deniz backboard. In addition, in case of the deltoid and erector spine muscles, it is shown that an increase in the degree of movement could lead to an increase in the level of muscle activities on the muscles controlling of the corresponding action, which are waist and back muscles. Despite it, it would be possible to prevent possible injuries and/or muscular and skeletal diseases around the lumbar by fully complying with a basic rule of straightening of the waist while making a power-lifting motion.

Development of Robot Platform for Autonomous Underwater Intervention (수중 자율작업용 로봇 플랫폼 개발)

  • KRISO (Korea Research Institute of Ship & Ocean Engineering) started a project to develop the core algorithms for autonomous intervention using an underwater robot in 2017. This paper introduces the development of the robot platform for the core algorithms, which is an ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) type with one 7-function manipulator. Before the detailed design of the robot platform, the 7E-MINI arm of the ECA Group was selected as the manipulator. It is an electrical type, with a weight of 51 kg in air (30 kg in water) and a full reach of 1.4 m. To design a platform with a small size and light weight to fit in a water tank, the medium-size manipulator was placed on the center of platform, and the structural analysis of the body frame was conducted by ABAQUS. The robot had an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), a DVL (Doppler Velocity Log), and a depth sensor for measuring the underwater position and attitude. To control the robot motion, eight thrusters were installed, four for vertical and the rest for horizontal motion. The operation system was composed of an on-board control station and operation S/W. The former included devices such as a 300 VDC power supplier, Fiber-Optic (F/O) to Ethernet communication converter, and main control PC. The latter was developed using an ROS (Robot Operation System) based on Linux. The basic performance of the manufactured robot platform was verified through a water tank test, where the robot was manually operated using a joystick, and the robot motion and attitude variation that resulted from the manipulator movement were closely observed.

Study on Compensation Method of Anisotropic H-field Antenna (Loran H-field 안테나의 지향성 보상 기법 연구)

  • Although the needs for providing resilient PNT information are increasing, threats due to the intentional RFI or space weather change are challenging to resolve. eLoran, which is a terrestrial navigation system that use a high-power signal is considered as a best back-up navigation system. Depending on the user's environment in the eLoran system, the user may use one of E-field or H-field antennas. H-field antenna, which has no restriction on setting stable ground and is relatively resistant to noise of general electronic equipment, is composed of two loops, and shows anisotropic gain pattern due to the different measurement at the two loops. Therefore, the H-field antenna's phase estimation value of signal varies depending on its direction even at the static environment. The error due to the direction of the signal should be eliminated if the user want to estimate the own position more precisely. In this paper, a method to compensate the error according to the geometric distribution between the H-field antenna and the transmitting station is proposed. A model was developed to compensate the directional error of H-field antenna based on the signal generated from the eLoran signal simulator. The model is then used to the survey measurement performed in the land area and verify its performance.
