동파방지 발열선용 온도제어기 개발 및 전기에너지 절감 효과 분석 (Development of an Anti-Freezing Heating Cable Temperature Controller and Its Power Saving Effects Analysis)

  • Although anti-freezing heating cable has been widely installed in most residential boiler pipe, there were excessive energy consumption and fire risk due to inadequate temperature control. In this paper, a new energy saving fire risk-free controller was developed by using microprocessing operation which include detection of not only boiler room temperature but also pipe surface one. Its actual effect has been verified to save more than a half of the energy consumption comparing to conventional controller through temperature and humidity chamber experiment.

  • Smart street light controller is a product with advance micro controller base for energy saving in conventional street lighting systems. Intelligent Street light controller are specially developed for automation and energy saving in conventional street light systems and lighting systems. It is so designed that it operates on sunrise & sun set timings according to longitude of particular location with facilitate to set month wise civil twilight timings to cope up with all seasons. Dimming (Power down) mode selection switch on/off at fixed times with relay or contactor. Night dimming, staggering and intelligent control reduces burn hours and increases the lifetime of lamps with about 30% and low annual operating cost type base are among the most inexpensive wireless technologies available. Low initial costs As PLC wireless, there is no need to establish cable connection.

  • In this paper, we are concerned with a maneuver detection algorithm which uses the 'lost' measurements down-sampled for computation load saving when a target is in quiescent motion. In general applications of estimation, measurements are available at a relatively high rate, while the estimation processing equipment can only operate at a lower sampling rate. Furthermore, when a target is in nearly quiescent motion, the update of the tracking filter need not to be implemented with maxim urn process power of the filter since the states of the target vary relatively slowly.   • This paper presents a new method to reducing inrush current and energy saving of capacitor starting single-phase induction motor used in air-conditioner. It can be obtained that proposed system is low cost and small size as compared with other controller. Experiments are focused on a capacitor starting single-phase induction motor. The optimal power saving and in-rush current limiting by phase angle control are verified by experimental results. Also, auxiliary winding was controlled by electronic starting switch.

  • The purpose of this study is the improvement of the existing trolling hauler, which has only one wheel to wind a main line, for saving man power around the coast of Jeju island. The trolling hauler manufactured for a test performance consisted of the wheel part of a main line and the roller part of a leader line including labor-saving devices comprised of a friction clutch, a fastener and springs. Even though this existing electric hauler system is convenient to control the wheel speed and the winding direction, it is apt to cost high and to corrode quickly at sea. Therefore, to remove these negative elements and to operate rollers for hoisting a leader line of the trolling, hydraulic motors were used separately. As a result, according to using of labor-saving devices, the towing tension occurred in operating in fishing ground could be selected moderately without breaking of lines and the operating efficiency of the trolling hauler was verified.

공작기계 냉각시스템의 에너지 절감 알고리즘 (Energy Saving Algorithms for Cooling Systems in Machine Tools)

  • Machine tools usually consume more energy in cooling systems than in spindle motors. This is largely because circulation pumps in the cooling systems are continuously powered to measure the temperature of spindle motors. In this paper, energy saving algorithms are proposed, which modify this behavior of the circulation pumps in such a way that the circulation pumps run only when it is likely that the information on the temperature is critical to bang-bang control of compressors in cooling systems. A mathematical model is established that explains heat transfer phenomena near the spindle motors. The power consumptions are measured for individual components in a machine tool, and the parameters that appear in the mathematical model are estimated. Computer simulations are performed with the estimated parameters, and the results are compared with the experimental ones. It turns out that a large amount of energy can be saved by using the proposed method.

  • The three-phase induction motor is rugged, reliable, long-lived, self-starting, smooth-running. But it is relatively inexpensive and three-phase power in not available everywhere, so if possible we need single-phase motor with the same characteristics. In fact, single-phase induction motors have excellent characteristics and outnumber the three-phase variety. Most of the small electric motors used in home, farm, or office are single-phase induction motors of one type or another. This electric motors application field need most energy saving type drive according to enlargement of electronic goods and to tend high class. The paper is proposed a various phase control methods for energy saving of single- phase induction motor. The controllers that are embodied by each method can use by various usage according to each performance and it is considered that application may help in the electrical energy saving because is possible to other electrical appliances.

  • In recent years, The electronic and energy industries demand low power consumption and high efficiency, so under their demands, the white goods industries which are represented for refrigerator and air conditioner system be implemented energy-saving power suppling structure with inverter control system. As inverter control system is different from step control type, when switching system is optimizing temperature control during short period, the inrush plus current can be flown in the circuit. In despite of these characteristics, there is no fuse which can be applied to this type until now. For this reason, we suggest the method of manufacturing protector in the high efficient inverter control system using the alumina-based ceramic radiated heat characteristics and metal films laminated plating. And through the evaluating electrical characteristics, we make a possible to utilize the method when designing overall fuses.

  • 본 논문은 백본 망에서 발생하는 에너지를 절감하기 위하여 LPI(Low Power Idle)를 이용하는 OBS 코어 및 에지 라우터 구조를 제안하고 이를 평가한다. 제안한 LPI를 이용하는 코어 라우터는 코어 라우터 라인 카드와 BCP 스위치, 버스트 스위치, 스위치 제어기 및 LPI 기능을 위한 Sleep/Wake 제어기로 구성된다. 망 부하가 낮을 때 네트워크 제어 패킷을 수신한 Sleep/Wake 제어기는 코어 라우터 라인 카드의 수면/활성 상태를 제어함으로써 에너지를 절감 할 수 있다. 에지 라우터는 액세스 라인 카드 스위치, SCU 그리고 OBS 에지 라우터 라인 카드로 구성된다. 에지 라우터에서 LPI 기능은 네트워크 수준 제어를 통하여 에지 라우터 라인 카드 개별적으로 수행되며 버스트를 생성하는 동안 에지 라우터 라인 카드의 PHY/Transceiver를 수면 상태로 천이시킴으로서 에너지 절감을 할 수 있다. 제안된 코어 및 에지 라우터 구조의 에너지 절감 성능 평가를 위하여 본 논문에서는 제안된 라우터 구조의 전력 소모율을 비교/분석하였으며, OPNET을 이용한 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 코어 라우터와 에지 라우터 라인 카드의 PHY/Transceiver의 수면시간 관점에서 코어 및 에지 라우터의 에너지 절감 성능을 평가하였다.

Implementation of Smart Control System based on Intelligent Dimming with LEDs

  • In this paper, an intelligent dimming control system is designed and implemented with the human visual response function using CDS sensor, PIR sensor and temperature sensor, etc. The proposed system is designed to detect a moving object by PIR sensor and to control the LED dimming considering the human visual response. Also, the dimming of LED light can modulate on the app, and simultaneously control dimming in real-world environments with smart phone app. A high-temperature warning or a fire hazard information is transmitted to user's smart phone according to sensor values and Data graph are provided as part of data visualization. Connecting the hardware controller, the proposed intelligent smart dimming control system is expected to contribute to the power reduction interior LED, smart grid building and saving home combining with internet of things.
