A new system for evaluating the voltage management errors of distribution equipment is presented in this paper. The main concept of the new system is to use real distribution live-line voltage to evaluate and correct the voltage measurement data from distribution equipment. This new approach is suitable for a new Distribution Management System (DMS) which has been developed for a distribution power system due to the connection of distributed generation growth. The data from distribution equipment that is installed at distribution lines must be accurate for the performance of the DMS. The proposed system is expected to provide a solution for voltage measurement accuracy assessment for the reliable and efficient operation of the DMS. An experimental study on actual distribution equipment verifies that this voltage measurement accuracy assessment system can assess and calibrate the voltage measurement data from distribution equipment installed at the distribution line.

In order to solve power disturbances, power components measurement for both supply and demand side of power system must be implemented. This paper proposed a DSP (Digital Signal Processor)-based multi-channel (voltage 8-channel and current 10-channel) power components measurement system that simultaneously can measure and analyze power components for both supply md demand side. After voltage and current measurement accuracy revision using YOKOGAWA 2558, the developed system was tested in the field.

This paper describes the measurements that provide a characterization of the code-domain channels of a CDMA base station transmitter. One of the measurements, called code-domain power(CDP), provides the distribution of power in the code domain channels. This measurement can be used to verify that the various channels are at expected power levels and to determine when one code channel is leaking energy into the other code channels. We develop module of CDP measurement in the CDMA system.

The synchronous phasor measurement algorithm is the core content of the phasor measurement unit. This manuscript proposes a dynamic synchronous phasor measurement algorithm based on compressed sensing theory. First, a dynamic signal model based on the Taylor series was established. The dynamic power signal was preprocessed using a least mean square error adaptive filter to eliminate interference from noise and harmonic components. A Chirplet overcomplete dictionary was then designed to realize a sparse representation. A reduction of the signal dimension was next achieved using a Gaussian observation matrix. Finally, the improved orthogonal matching pursuit algorithm was used to realize the sparse decomposition of the signal to be detected, the amplitude and phase of the original power signal were estimated according to the best matching atomic parameters, and the total vector error index was used for an error evaluation. Chroma 61511 was used for the output of various signals, the simulation results of which show that the proposed algorithm cannot only effectively filter out interference signals, it also achieves a better dynamic response performance and stability compared with a traditional DFT algorithm and the improved DFT synchronous phasor measurement algorithm, and the phasor measurement accuracy of the signal is greatly improved. In practical applications, the hardware costs of the system can be further reduced.

Both ratio error and phase angle error in potential transformer(PT) are critically affected by used burden, connected in parallel to the secondary terminal of the PT. Thus precise measurement of burden value is very important for the evaluation of PT An automatic measurement system has been developed for the measurement of burden value and power factor of a burden. The ac voltage, current and power of the burden are measured precisely, and the burden value and power factor were calculated from these measured values. The resistance and inductance values of the tested burden are also calculated. The overall measurement uncertainties are calculated and reported with the burden value and power factor. The best measurement uncertainty for the burden measurement with the developed automatic measurement system was estimated to be 0.5 $\%$.

To supply electrical power with high quality, the power system must be optimized in many ways such as planning, control and management. In order to optimize the power system, the analysis of the power system is necessary. The elements of the power system require an accurate model to analysis of the power system. The components of the power systems such as generators, transformers and transmission lines have been studied and researched a lot in their modeling and very sophisticated models have been proposed. However, in case of load in-depth studies on the exact model are required. In this paper, measurement-based load modeling method using real-time measured data is proposed in various methods to reflect the characteristics of the load. To prove the validity of the proposed method, PSCAD/EMTDC program is used to configure the power system and measurement data according to the various failures are used to study on load modeling.
A new floating power supply for the current measurement system of a high voltage power line is developed. It is confirmed that, the current measurement system can stably transfer the signal of the power line current about 50 - 300 A by using the proposed power supply. The excellent characteristics are obtained by the steady-state and transient experiments of the proposed circuit. $\textbullet$ The right figure shows the external view of the trial measurement system for 6.6 kV. In order to see the inside, 120 degrees of the insulator is cut. The toroidal coil for the power supply and the Rogowskii coil for the current sensor are both divided into two and fixed on the power line as...$\textbullet$ The proposed circuit can supply +5V and -5V voltages without using a solar cell and/or a battery.

The Smart grids are considered as multi-disciplinary power systems where the communication networks are highly employed. This paper presents optimal wide area measurement system (WAMS) configuration in Nordic power system. The transition from SCADA to WAMS becomes now trend in all power systems to ensure higher reliability and data visibility. The optimization applied in this research considered the geographical regions of the Nordic power system. The research considered all the devices of WAMS namely phasor measurement units (PMUs), phasor data concentrators (PDCs) and communication links. The study also presents two scenarios for optimal WAMS namely base case and N-1 contingency as different operating conditions. The result of this research presents technical and financial results for WAMS configuration in a real power system. The optimization results are performed using MATLAB 2017a software application.
In recent years, microgrids have been the focus of considerable attention in distributed energy distribution. Microgrids contain a large number of power electronic devices that can potentially cause negative impedance instability. Harmonic impedance is an important tool to analyze stability and power quality of microgrids. Harmonic impedance can also be used in harmonic source localization. Precise measurement of microgrid impedance and analysis of system stability with impedances are essential to increase stability. In this study, we introduce a new square wave current injection method for impedance measurement and stability analysis. First, three stability criteria based on impedance parameters are presented. Then, we present a new impedance measurement method for microgrids based on square wave current injection. By injecting an unbalanced line-to-line current between two lines of the AC system, the method determines all impedance information in the traditional synchronous reference frame d-q model. Finally, the microgrid impedances of each part and the overall microgrid are calculated to verify the measurement results. In the experiments, a simulation model of a three-phase AC microgrid is developed using PSCAD, and the AC system harmonic impedance measuring device is developed.

It is very important to evaluate on/off-line stability to operate the power system stably and economically. Until now, we have continuously secured the operation reliability of the power system through the evaluation of transient, voltage and small signal stability. This paper proposes that it is possible to operate in KWAMS by applying the multi-section analysis and subspace methods and verifying the reliability of the algorithms to directly estimate the dominant oscillation mode of the power system from the signal waveform acquired from the phasor measurement units. In addition, this paper shows that the dominant oscillation mode can be detected from real-time measurement data in power systems. Therefore, if we can monitor the state of the power system in real time, it is possible to avoid a large-scale power outage by knowing the possibility of the power system accident in advance.
