Electrochemical carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction technology, one of the promising solutions for climate change, can convert CO2, a representative greenhouse gas (GHG), into valuable base chemicals using electric energy. In particular, carbon monoxide (CO), among various candidate products, is attracting much attention from both academia and industry because of its high Faraday efficiency, promising economic feasibility, and relatively large market size. Although numerous previous studies have recently analyzed the GHG reduction potential of this technology, the assumptions made and inventory data used are neither consistent nor transparent. In this study, a comparative life cycle assessment was carried out to analyze the potential for reducing GHG emissions in the electrochemical CO production process in a more transparent way. By defining three different system boundaries, the global warming impact was compared with that of a fossil fuel-based CO production process. The results confirmed that the emission factor of electric energy supplied to CO2-electrolyzers should be much lower than that of the current national power generation sector in order to mitigate GHG emissions by replacing conventional CO production with electrochemical CO production. Also, it is important to disclose transparently inventory data of the conventional CO production process for a more reliable analysis of GHG reduction potential.

Local management trade ports are small-sized trade ports, which require active operation to strengthen the local cities' economic power and enhance the local industries' added value. In addition, local management trade ports should berth ships larger than the existing ships to increase efficiency and keep up with the international trend where ships are becoming larger. Furthermore, they should also prepare operating standards. This study selected Okgye Port among local management trade ports. We performed a mooring safety simulation evaluation according to the scenario where a 50,000 DWT vessel is moored at the current 20,000 DWT class pier. The emergency departure criteria were 27kts at 3.2s of wave period and 22kts at 5.0s of wave period at the existing pier. Results showed that mooring limit condition increased by about 50% to 41kts at 3.2s of wave period and 36kts at 5.0s of wave period. This study can be used for strengthening mooring facilities and setting operational standards for safe port operation when large ships are berthing.
Natural gas consumption in Asia is growing at fast tempo because of various factors such as economic growth in the region, urbanization, coal-to-gas switch at power and industry sector. Due to geographical characteristics and lack of international pipeline connections between countries in the continent, majority of natural gas exported to Asian consumers is transported by tankers on the sea in the form of liquefied natural gas. As Asian market is the most lucrative market with the fastest demand growth, the competitions between LNG sellers for market share in Asian market are strengthening. The competitions accelerated, especially after the introduction of large volume of incremental supply into the market by new exporters from the U.S., Australia, and Russia. Cheniere Energy, the first exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the lower 48 states of U.S. has not adopted the traditional price formation mechanism and business model. Traditionally, prices of long-term LNG contracts have been indexed to the price of competing fuels, such as crude oil. The company adopted a pricing mechanism and business model based on a cost-plus system. Cheniere Energy opted for the safer and the risk-free pricing system, that annually guarantees a fixed amount of revenue to the seller. The company earns the same amount of money, regardless of natural gas price dynamics in the domestic and international market, but possibly with less revenue. However, by introducing and successfully implementing the safer and risk- free business model, Cheniere Energy, a company of a relatively smaller size in comparison with major oil and gas companies, became an example to other smaller-sized companies in the U.S. The company's business model demonstrated how to enter and operate LNG business amid increasing competitions among sellers in the U.S. and international market.

This study examined changes in the energy landscape, focusing on the photovoltaic module carbon certification system. As the global photovoltaic market has been reorganized around Chinese companies, the South Korean government has pushed to strengthen the competitiveness of the nation's photovoltaic industry. However, a limitation remains in that the government-led effort was not sufficient to bring about dynamic changes in the energy landscape. Against this backdrop, this study explored the stages leading to the multi-level perspectives of "macro-environment, socio-technical regime, and niche" to track the process of the government and domestic photovoltaic companies as part of a socio-technical regime responding to global market changes. In particular, this study raised an issue with the conceptual discussion of multi-level perspective, which placed a particular emphasis on the rate of change at each level and the niche in which innovative experiments take place, and thus attempted to fill this gap by tracking the energy landscape that varies differently from space. These spatial discussions can track different carbon emissions coefficients and industrial characteristics for each country, and have a higher level of explanatory power for the system thus constructed. In addition, through discussions on the problems and implications of the government-led introduction of renewable energy policies, this study suggests the need to create and implement a field-oriented system.

Among environment friendly energies this paper studies the possibility of drive service for autonomous vehicles that self-charges using only solar energy and whether they can be used as pollution free and alternative energy for automobiles. Studies was researched based on published literature review, data from ministry of transportation and automobile companies. Also case of electric vehicle and prototype automobile using only solar energy and the theory of near future technologies. Many automakers are using electric cars as alternative energy. Also making efforts to use solar energy as an substitute energy source and as a way to supplement electricity. Results show that there is a potential on operating autonomous vehicle using only solar energy. Furthermore, it will be possible to use automobiles actively, also use and supply solar energy. This paper suggest the possibility of contributing to the future of the automotive industry.

Objectives: Objective of this study is to review briefly exposure characteristics, monitoring instruments and threshold limit values for extremely low frequency-magnetic field (ELF-MF) methods. This study was undertaken through brief literature review. We performed a literature search in PubMed to identify ELF-MF studies conducted in workplaces. Initial search keywords such as 'extremely low frequency-magnetic field (ELF-MF)' and 'electromagnetic fields (EMF)' combined or singly. We limited our review to occupational rather than general nonworkplace environmental exposures. Methods: The contents we reviewed: key industry and occupations generating ELF-MF, several direct-reading instruments monitoring ELF-MF and threshold limit values (TLV) preventing health effects may be caused by the exposure to ELF-MF. Results: The industries related to the generation and supply of electricity, electrolytic installations, welding, and induction heating and more were regarded as high ELF-MF exposure industries. All jobs handling or employed performed in power cable lines, electrical wiring, and electrical equipment are found to be exposed to ELF-MF. Threshold or ceiling limit, 1,000 µT, is established to prevent acute effects of exposure to low-frequency EMFs on the nervous system: the direct stimulation of nerve and muscle tissues and the induction of retinal phosphenes. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified ELF-MF as possibly carcinogenic to humans chiefly based on epidemiological studies on childhood leukemia. However, a causal relationship between magnetic fields and several types of cancer including childhood leukemia has not been established nor has any other long-term effects. Risk management using precautionary measures, has been initiated by the US and EU to prevent chronic health effects related to ELF-MF exposure in workplaces. Conclusion: This study recommends the implementation of various measures such as theestablishment of occupational exposure limit values for ELF-MF and precautionary principle to prevent potential chronic occupational health effects may be caused by ELF-MF in Korea.
The restoration of cultural heritage materials is an important research theme. This study improved the existing cultural heritage restoration method and attempted to establish a restoration system for cultural heritage data based on historical documents and visual materials. Recognizing the limitations of existing studies, this paper attempted to restore cultural heritage data through interdisciplinary research. In addition, 3D restoration was carried out after restoration in 2D form based on literature documents rather than existing visual sources. The object of restoration that was selected was "Jeol," which represents the power of the king of Koguryo. Koguryo's Jeol is a type of flag. Jeol appears in the mural in Anak Tomb No. 3. Rather than using only photographic materials of murals, the restoration was carried out through cross-validation of literature data and materials on archaeological art history. This is important in that the restoration carried out in this study is an accurate restoration with a historical understanding based on the literature of the relevant cultural heritage. In this study, a restoration process based on historical records was established. A 3D restoration process was performed by adding and applying visual materials after the object was first shaped based on the literature data. Restoration based on literature and visual materials was carried out based on interdisciplinary research. Therefore, this study aims to build a digital restoration system for cultural heritages and to contribute to spreading the 3D digital restoration research of cultural heritages that can be applied to various platforms.

The International Maritime Organization adopted the interim standards for ship maneuverability in November 1993 for preventing collision of ships at sea and for protecting the marine environment, and based on the accumulated data, in December 2002, the established standards for ship maneuverability were adopted. However, the standards adopted are those at full load, even keel, and at least 90 % of the ship speed at 85 % of the ship's maximum power. Moreover, these standards have limitations in providing information on maneuverability under actual navigational conditions. Therefore, in this study, frequency analysis AHP analysis techniques were studied by consulting navigational officers, captains, and experts, who have significant knowledge on ship maneuverability, utilization of the current standards, and the information necessary for the operation of the actual ship. The results of this study confirmed that the necessary information on maneuverability for the navigational officer operating the vessel is information about the turning circle at a small angle of 5°-10° and z-test information at maneuvering speed, not sea speed. Additionally, in relation to speed control, additional information on deceleration inertia and acceleration inertia is needed than the information on the stopping ability at sea speed and full loaded condition. The derived results are considered to be useful as basic data for preparing guidelines for ship maneuverability necessary for navigational of icers who operate ships.

Coal ash generated from thermal power plants using briquettes contains Si, Al, and Fe components. These components are the main components required for the manufacture of cement clinker. In particular, Al and Fe components form the interstitial phase of cement clinker and have an important effect on the sintering of cement clinker. In this study, a large amount of coal ash was applied as a raw material for cement clinker by content, and the mineral formation process of cement clinker to which coal ash was applied was confirmed by sintering temperature. It was confirmed that the intermediate phase was generated in the sintering temperature range of 1050 ~ 1150 ℃ in the cement clinker to which a large amount of coal ash was applied. As the content of coal ash increased, the production amount of the intermediate phase increased. The phase produced by the addition of coal ash is expected to be converted to calcium silicate phase and interstitial phase and disappear above 1350 ℃. The cement clinker applied with a large amount of coal ash at 1450 ℃ formed well-developed minerals equivalent to the standard cement clinker.
This study attempted to identify the effects of macroeconomic variables such as the All Industry Production Index, Consumer Price Index, CD Interest Rate, and KOSPI on apartment lease prices divided into nationwide, Seoul, metropolitan, and region, and to present a methodological prediction model of apartment lease prices by region using Long Short Term Memory (LSTM). According to VAR analysis results, the nationwide apartment lease price index and consumer price index in Lag1 and 2 had a significant effect on the nationwide apartment lease price, and likewise, the Seoul apartment lease price index, the consumer price index, and the CD interest rate in Lag1 and 2 affect the apartment lease price in Seoul. In addition, it was confirmed that the wide-area apartment jeonse price index and the consumer price index had a significant effect on Lag1, and the local apartment jeonse price index and the consumer price index had a significant effect on Lag1. As a result of the establishment of the LSTM prediction model, the predictive power was the highest with RMSE 0.008, MAE 0.006, and R-Suared values of 0.999 for the local apartment lease price prediction model. In the future, it is expected that more meaningful results can be obtained by applying an advanced model based on deep learning, including major policy variables
