  • This paper presents the effects and the regional power distribution of an increase or a decrease of a power reserve by load flow calculations under seasonal load patterns of each country for the future power shortages faced by the metropolitan areas or by the southeastern area of the South Korea in North-East Asia. In these connections, the types of a power transmission for interconnection consist of the 765kV HVAC and the HVDC. In this paper, the various cases of the power system interconnections in Far-East Asia are presented, and the resulting interconnected power systems are simulated by means of a power flow analysis performed with the PSS/E 28 version tool. The power flow map is drawn from data simulated and the comparative study is done. In this future, a power flow analysis will be considered to reflect the effects of seasonal power exchanges And the plan of assumed scenarios will be considered with maximum or minimum power exchanges during summer or winter in North-East Asia countries.

  • This paper suggests an extended power flow analysis algorithm based on a modified economic load dispatch concept. Meaningfully, the proposed method makes it possible to perform the power flow analysis without a slack bus. And the 'equal incremental cost' rule which is obtained by economic load dispatch prior to power flow is maintained even during the proposed power flow analysis. In this paper, both 5 - bus and 14 - bus power systems are used to offer the theoretical accuracy and practical applications of this algorithm.

  • In this paper, Power Flow Analysis (PFA) method has been applied to the prediction of vibration energy density and intensity of coupled shell structures in the medium-to-high frequency ranges. To consider the wave transformation at joint between shell elements, power transmission and reflection coefficients are investigated for various joint angles, and here Donnell-Mushtari thin shell theory has been used. • This study examined the flow and noise inside a sirocco fan for ventilation as a commercial program. To confirm only the location and power of the noise source, flow analysis was performed with steady state flow analysis. Through flow analysis, the flow was observed in the sirocco fan and the velocity vector. The pressure distribution inside was observed with contours. From the results of steady analysis, the position and size of the noise source could be seen using the 'Curle surface acoustic power' and 'Proudman acoustic power'. The Curle surface acoustic power can be used to observe the noise from the surface. The Proudman acoustic power can be used to detect noise generated in the flow region because the position and size of the noise source generated inside the sirocco fan can be seen only in the steady state. Therefore it is necessary to further analyze the unsteady state to check the frequency of the noise generated. This study provides basic data for improving the performance of the Sirocco fan and reducing the noise.

  • The conventional graphical representation of the instantaneous compensation power flow for single-phase active power filters(APFs) simply represents the active power flow and the reactive power flow which flowing between the power source and the active filter / the load. But, this method does not provide the information about the rectification mode and the compensation mode of APFs, especially, the loss for each mode was not considered at all. This is very important to understand the compensation operation characteristics of APFs. Therefore, this paper proposes the graphical representation of the instantaneous compensation power flow for single-phase APFs considering the instantaneous rectification mode and the instantaneous inversion mode. Three cases are verified in this paper - without compensation, with compensation of the active power 'p' and the fundamental reactive power 'q', and with compensation of only the distorted power 'h'. To ensure the validity of the proposed approach, PSIM simulation is achieved. As a result, we could confirm that the proposed approach was easy to explain the instantaneous compensation power flow considering the instantaneous rectification mode and the instantaneous inversion mode of APFs, also, Total Harmonic Distortion(THD)/Power Factor (P.F) and Fast Fourier Transform(FFT) analysis were compared for each case.

  • Currently, Studies on improving the reliability of power supply is becoming an important issue because of the increase in demand of the electric power system. Therefore necessity of automation in distribution system is increasing day by day. However, a measured voltage data from FRTU of distribution automation system is incorrect because of installation space limits. Therefore there is a need of system analysis method by considering the characteristics of the distribution system. For a distribution system, applying the power flow method of transmission system has some problems, as distribution is radial system and it has unbalanced load. Therefore power flow by considering the characteristics of the distribution system have been studied. Existing power flow analysis of the distribution system has different methods like direct analysis method, backward/forward sweep method, modified method of newton raphson etc. In this paper, an improved power flow analysis method based on backward/forward sweep method is proposed in order to efficiently operate the distribution automation system. The proposed method of power flow has been verified through the result of case study.

  • Mmulti-domain noise analysis method using Power Flow Boundary Element Method(PFBEM) has been developed successfully. Some applications are introduced. several examples. PFBEM is a numerical analysis method formulated by applying Boundary Element Method(BEM) to Power Flow Analysis(PFA). PFBEM is very powerful in predicting noise level in medium-to-high frequency ranges. However there are restrictions in analyzing the coupled structures and multi-media. In this paper, an analysis method for multi-domain acoustic problems in the diverse acoustic fields is suggested. And the developed method is applied to the car interior and exterior multi-domain noise analysis.

  • The power flow analysis of electrified railway is required complicated calculation, because of variable load. Train runs trough rail supplied by electric power therefore, the load value in electrified railway system fluctuates along time. The power flow algorithm in electrified railway system is different from general power system, and the power flow simulation is peformed by the particular simulation software. Powerail is simulation software for analysis of traction power supply system developed by KRRI, in 2008. This consists of load forecasting module, including TPS and time scheduling, and power flow module. This software was verified by measured current under normal feeding condition, however, has not been verified by voltage on the condition of extended feeding. This paper presents the verification of PowerRail based on voltage drop under extended feeding condition. This is performed by comparing simulation result with field test. Field test and simulation is done in commercial railway line.

  • Turbulent flow-induced vibrations generate the structural fatigue and noise problems. In this paper, using Corcos, Smol' yakov-Tkachenko, Ffowcs Williams and Chase models, the input power generated by distributed fluid force is predicted for power flow analysis (PFA) of turbulent flow-induced vibration. Additionally, the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is used to raise the calculation efficiency PFA results obtained are compared with the classical modal solutions for verifications. Analytic results using the fluid models show good agreements with those of modal analysis, respectively.
