The importance of the concept of safety culture has increased in the security of high-risk facility after Chernobyl accident in 1986. This paper elaborated the concept of safety culture and its main factors by Causal Loop Diagram. Due to the decline of safety culture, the occurrence of incidents and accidents require more and more corrective actions to the members of high-risk facilities and thereby increasing their workloads. Employees who must complete the task within the given time have to have time pressures and don't comply with the rules and procedures. Also, a schedule pressure is a big stress for employees, causing mistakes in precision work. In order to improve these problems, CLD of the safety culture in this paper suggests hiring more workers, re-allocation of given workloads and strengthen the learning, communication capabilities and safety leadership. In addition, the two real accident cases were analyzed to test the feasibility of the System Dynamic simulation model through the process of structuring the fault trees on the stationary black out accident in Kori unit 1 in South Korea and Kleen Energy power station explosion in US. The simulation results show that the various safety factors cause the serious accident combined with mechanical failure and safety culture will reduce the possibility of the accidents in these high-risk organizations. This simulation model can contribute to analyzing the impact of the organizational and human factors of safety culture and can provide the alternatives in high-risk facilities.

In developing information systems, omissions and redundancies of user requirements are too frequent to increase development cost as they need to be remedied at later stages. In order to cope with this problem, various tools describing business processes have been proposed in the past and yet fewer attempts have been made to systematically and categorically evaluate performance of individual tools describing business processes. In this paper, we offer a general framework for appraising competing tools for describing business processes, including ERD, DFD, and Use Case Diagram in terms of ease of use, completeness, chance of having omissions, and. Based on a exemplary business From the measures proposed in this paper for comparing descriptive tools, ERD turns out to stand out over other often-used methodologies. Despite its problem with poor readability, ERD proves to offer relatively higher expressive power and ease of use. Being supplemented by well-formed job descriptions, ERD would remain a better choice in developing business information systems.
One of the most important core technologies required for the design of the ITS (Intrusion Tolerance System) that performs continuously minimal essential services even when the network-based computer system is partially compromised because of the external or internal intrusions is the quantitative dependability analysis of the ITS. In this paper, we applied self-healing mechanism, the core technology of autonomic computing to secure the protection power of the ITS. We analyzed a state transition diagram of the ITS composed of a Primary server and a backup server utilizing two factors of self-healing mechanism (fault model and system response) and calculated the availability of ITS through simulation experiments and also performed studies on two cases of vulnerability attack.
In this paper, ${\pi}/4$-DQPSK modem according to ITU-R M.1842-1 recommendation Annex1 is investigated and simulated. At first, standardization and technical trend of VHF maritime mobile communication are introduced. The ${\pi}/4$-DQPSK modem defined in the Annex1 should support 28.8Kbps bit transmission rate within 25KHz frequency bandwidth. We describe the system model and simulation process of ${\pi}/4$-DQPSK modem transmitter and receiver design with RRC(Root Raised Cosine) transmitter and receiver filter. Then we suggest various graphical simulation results(time domain signals, constellation, power spectral density according to roll-off factor, eye diagram), and show simulated BER performance of the modem. From the simulation results, it is shown that roll-off factor of RRC filter affects to BER performance according to SNR and the designed simulation model meets the spectrum mask requirement suggested in ITU-R M.1842-1 recommendation.

We designed and implemented the attachable smart adapter for the general management of each company's agricultural machine regardless of whether it is equipped with a CAN (Controller Area Network) module. The smart adapter consists of a main board (Raspberry Pi3B), which operates agricultural machine's management software in Linux environment, and a self-developed interface board for power adjustment and status sensing. For the status monitoring, a sensing interface using a serial input was defined between the smart adapter and the sensors of the agricultural machine, and the state diagram of the agricultural machine was defined for diagnosis. We made a panel to simulate the sensors of the agricultural machine using the switch's on/off contact point, and confirmed the status monitoring and diagnostic functions by inputting each state of the farm machinery from the simulator panel.

Purpose: As the medical laboratories in general hospitals have made an efforts on quality management and employee health, they recognized the need of design guideline for clinical laboratory. As laboratories are prohibited to patients, their environments are becoming more congested and deteriorated as time goes by. So, this study investigates the current status of facility and equipment of laboratory medicine focusing on less than three hundred patient bed hospitals, and searches the improving matters. Methods: Questionnaires to technologist captains and field surveys to medical laboratories in korean hospitals have been conducted for the data collection. 18 answers have been analysed statistically by MS Excel program. Results: The result of this study can be summarized into followings. Clinical laboratory functions are all hematology, clinical chemistry, immunology, transfusion and urine microscopy, and except for three including microbiology for infection and bio safety level. Average man power of lab are 12.3 man including lab director and captain. Patient bed number, space area and total specimen numbers are not correlated with each other, but specimen numbers and employee number are correlated with. Work space distances are usually good, but exit distances are not adequate for escape owing to obstacles. Specimen delivery system by courier, test method by automatic analyzer, access floor for exposed plumbing and electricities are more practical. Open lab layed out in the center and lab support layed peripheral in space diagram. Lab space configuration by SD method showed that lab support area and employee support area are dissatisfied. Implications: Specialized hospital and yearly total specimen numbers are related to the space area and organization for laboratory planning and design.
In FPD WET equipment, heaters are used a lot. There are many electric accidents caused by short circuit and overheating due to the use of heater, so it is necessary to have a safe electric system and interlock. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an electrical schematic and interlock for FPD WET equipment. In this paper, a hardware interlock such as a level sensor, an overheat protector, and an SSR heater sink is inserted, and the electric system is composed of ELB - MC - SSR - EOCR - heater. When the interlock occurs, the magnetic contactor (MC) is turned off and the power of the heater is cut off.EOCR, an electric overcurrent protection device, has an interlock to shut down the MC when there is an abnormality in the heater while checking the overcurrent, undercurrent and disconnection. These circuit configurations and interlocks are likely to be useful not only for WET equipment but also for any equipment in which the heater is placed.
This paper presents a hydrostatic bearing design and rotordynamic analysis of a turbo expander for a hydrogen liquefaction plant. Th~e turbo expander includes the turbine and compressor wheel assembled to a shaft supported by two hydrostatic radial and thrust bearings. The rated speed is 75,000 rpm and the rated power is 6 kW. For the bearing operation, we use pressurized air at 8.5 bar as the lubricant that is supplied to the bearing through the orifice restrictor. We calculate the bearing stiffness and flow rate for various gauge pressure ratios and select the orifice diameter providing the maximum bearing stiffness. Additionally, we conduct a rotordynamic analysis based on the calculated bearing stiffness and damping considering design parameters of the turbo expander. The predicted Cambell diagram indicates that there are two critical speeds under the rated speed and there exists a sufficient separation margin for the rated speed. In addition, the predicted rotor vibration is under 1 ㎛ at the rated speed. We conduct the operating test of the turbo expander in the test rig. For the operation, we supply pressurized air to the turbine and monitor the shaft vibration during the test. The test results show that there are two critical speeds under the rated speed, and the shaft vibration is controlled under 2.5 ㎛.

Recently, the consideration of eco-friendly technology to reduce greenhouse gas is being emphasized in the aviation field. Various studies for applying electro-mechanical actuators that control mechanical linear and rotational movements using electricity as the primary power source are in progress. In this study, the fatigue analysis of the electro-mechanical actuator for the front wheel steering of a single aisle aircraft was carried out. A unit load stress table was constructed for the vulnerable part selected through structural analysis, and the representative stress for each load profile was calculated using the unit load stress table constructed for the vulnerable part. Then, individual profiles of representative stress group were extracted from continuous load profiles by applying the rainflow counting method. The damage of each profile was calculated by applying the S-N diagram. Finally, the total damage in the vulnerable parts was calculated by the linear cumulative damage law, and the fatigue life of the electro-mechanical actuator for the front wheel steering of a single aisle aircraft was evaluated.

The generation, verification and validation of Emergency Procedures for Nuclear Power Plant is a difficult and complex process. Atomic Energy Control Board(AECB) requires that emergency procedure and plan be produced before obtaining the Operating License, that is, detailed plans and procedures to handle emergency situations for both on-site actions and off-site actions be developed. In this report Emergency Operating Procedures Standard for Canadian Nuclear Utilities which makes reference to U. S. practices and the current direction of emergency procedures for CAN-DU reactors are reviewed and compared based on scope(events covered), methodology (event-oriented or symptom-oriented or hybrid) and format(method of presentation) preponderantly, and an attempt is made to integrate these procedures and as a result the recommended strategy for Wolsong unit 2, 3, & 4 is presented as event-specific procedures, generic procedures(when event is not diagnosed) and whose format is combination of logic diagram and text.
