엘리베이터 시스템을 위한 SiC 권상기 드라이브 (SiC Motor Drive for Elevator System)

  • With the recent emphasis on the importance of energy conservation, studies on high-efficiency elevator systems are being continuously conducted. Therefore, pulse width modulation converters are commonly used in traction drives on elevator systems. Wide bandgap devices have been increasingly commercialized, and their application to power conversion systems, such as renewable and energy storage system, has been gradually increasing. In this study, a SiC inverter for an elevator traction drive is investigated. In particular, an inverter is designed to minimize stray and parasitic inductance. Input and output filters are designed by considering switching frequency. The designed SiC inverter reduces volume by approximately 32% compared with that of a Si inverter, and power converter efficiency is over 98.8%.

  • PDP TV의 전력 효율을 향상시키기 위해서는 PDP의 구동과정에서 발생하게 되는 불필요한 전력소모와 AC 입력으로부터 원하는 DC를 얻기 위한 과정 중에 발생하는 전력 소모를 최소화하여야 한다. 일반적인 PDP 구동을 위한 입력 전원단은 2단 구조의 역률 보상형 컨버터를 채용하고 있으며, PDP 구동시 전력소모가 가장 큰 서스테인 드라이버와 리셋 회로의 구동전원을 공급하기 위한 별도의 DC-to-DC 컨버터를 필요로 한다. 그러나 이러한 회로의 구현은 저가의 PDP를 요구하는 시장 상황에 유연하게 대처하는데 많은 어려움을 준다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 최소의 전력 변환단계를 가지도록 서스테인과 리셋 회로의 전원 공급이 가능한 1단방식의 역률보상형 AC-to-DC 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 1단방식의 입력전원부 구성을 통해 전력 변환단을 최소화하여 전력 변환 중에 발생하는 손실을 최소화하며, PDP 서스테인/리셋 드라이버의 구동전압을 직접 공급하는 형태로 구성하여 시스템 부피의 감소, 원가 절감을 이룰 수 있다.

  • 현재 대형선박에서 다이오드 정류기를 이용한 AC-DC 전력변환장치를 주로 사용하고 있으며 이는 총고조파왜형율을 줄이기 위하여 다중펄스를 출력할 수 있는 상치환변압기가 추가적으로 설치되어야 한다. 이 경우 상치환변압기의 설치로 인해 공간적, 경제적 손실이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 LNG 운반선 등과 같은 대형선박에서 현재 운용중인 다이오드 정류기를 대신하여 SCR, IGBT등의 소자를 이용하는 새로운 능동형 정류방식을 제안하여 저전압 전원의 이용이 가능하고 전력선 부하에 의해 발생하는 고조파 발생을 줄이며 또한, 기존의 방식에서 사용하는 상치환변압기를 제거하여 경제적인 이점도 얻고자 하였다. 현재 대형선박에서 운용중인 전기추진시스템에 제안한 시스템을 시뮬레이션 한 결과, 추진전동기 입력 전류 및 전압 파형에 포함된 총고조파왜형율이 개선됨을 나타내었다.

  • This thesis paper is on the management of Energy Storage System for the catenary source stabilization of KTX's high-speed train section. It is the algorism that is to utilize on the voltage drop at the end and peak power suppression of the substation by supplying from the end, compensating consuming energy when the KTX retrogresses, by installing Energy Storage System at the end of the substation where is the section post. The algorism which this thesis is to utilize is verified through the catenary voltage modeling and simulation of the power conversion system, and the system validity of the Korail's Yongjeong section post which is currently in management is in the application review phase.

  • Photovoltaic system has very low energy conversion efficiency and the output characteristics of solar cell is varied by the Insolation quantity and the temperature. In order to improve the efficiency of photovoltaic system, the energy which has got from solar cell must be use maximum. In this paper, it was stimultaneous executed both MPPT control and instrumentation in order that the operating point of solar cell is located maximum power point, using the PWM inverter and micro-computer, which is for the purpose of acquiring maximum power from the solar cell. As a result, maximum power point tracking had carried out and the efficiency of photovoltaic system improved, even if insolation quantity and the temperature are varied.

  • The induction motor of the electric vehicles is controlled based on the vector control method to obtain good torque control characteristics. In the conventional vector control system, the field exciting current should be kept on a constant value to keep a stable flux level. This method has a liability that core loss becomes increasing at the light load region. To solve this liability, the efficiency maximizing control method of the vector controlled induction motor is proposed in thid paper. We developed light weight water cooled 60kW induction motor drive system which adopts our method and fabricated a conversion electric car for actual vehicle test. We demonstrate the usefulness of drive system by comparing its driving mode with conventional field oriented system and an efficiency maximizing controlled induction motor.

  • In this paper, an DC/DC converter system has been proposed, which is suitable for fuel cell based power generation systems. The proposed converter system has outstanding advantages over the conventional dc-dc converters with respect to high efficiency and high power density. The developed converter system has been experimentally tested with using DSP PWM controller so that the performance of the proposed converter could be effectively examined and the validity of the converter could be verified.

  • In this paper a high efficiency wireless on-board charger for Electric Vehicle (EV) is proposed and the theoretical analysis based on the two-port network model to come up with suitable design for the battery charge application is presented. The proposed Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) method has adopted four-coil system with air core and its superior performance is proved by comparing it to the conventional two-coil system by the mathematical analysis. In addition, since the proposed WPT converter is able to operate at an almost constant frequency regardless of the load, CC/CV charge of the battery can be simply implemented. A 6.6kW prototype is implemented with 20cm air gap to prove the validity of the proposed method. The experimental results show that the dc to dc conversion efficiency of the proposed system achieves 97.08% at 3.7 kW.

  • Power conversion system must be increased switching frequency in order to achieve a small size, a light weight and a low noise. However, the switches of converter are subjected to high switching power losses and switching stresses. As a result of those, the power system brings on a low efficiency. In this paper, the authors propose a DC-DC boost converter of high power by partial resonant switch method (PRSM). The switching devices in a proposed circuit are operated with soft switching and the control technique of those is simplified for switch to drive in constant duty cycle. The partial resonant circuit makes use of a inductor using step up and a condenser of loss-less snubber. Also the circuit has a merit which is taken to increase of efficiency, as it makes to a regeneration at input source of accumulated energy in snubber condenser without loss of snubber in conventional circuit. The result is that the switching loss is very low and the efficiency of system is high. The proposed converter is deemed the most suitable for high power applications where the power switching devices are used.

Simple Neuro-Controllers for Field-Oriented Induction Motor Servo Drives

  • In this paper, the position control of a detuned indirect field oriented control (IFOC) induction motor drive is studied. A proposed Simple-Neuro-Controllers (SNCs) are designed and analyzed to achieve high-dynamic performance both in the position command tracking and load regulation characteristics for robotic applications. The proposed SNCs are trained on-line based on the back propagation algorithm with a modified error function. Four SNCs are developed for position, speed and d-q axes stator currents respectively. Also, a synchronous proportional plus integral-derivative (PI-D) two-degree-of-freedom (2DOF) position controller and PI-D speed controller are designed for an ideal IFOC induction motor drive with the desired dynamic response. The performance of the proposed SNCs and synchronous PI-D 2DOF position controllers for detuned field oriented induction motor servo drive is investigated. Simulation results show that the proposed SNCs controllers provide high-performance dynamic characteristics which are robust with regard to motor parameter variations and external load disturbance. Furthermore, comparing the SNC position controller with the synchronous PI-D 2DOF position controller demonstrates the superiority of the proposed SNCs controllers due to attain a robust control performance for IFOC induction motor servo drive system.
