  • This paper is proposed by fuzzy-based MPPT control of photovoltaic to drive induction motor. Design and prototype implement of a fuzzy logic(FL) controller for maxim]m power extraction from a stand-alon photovoltaic Is proposed in this paper. Error and the change of error between maximum power and real power are used by input of fuzzy controller. Moreover, it output changing of voltage from control constant. The validity of this paper is proved by comparing maximum power point tracking and performance of motor drive through comparison fuzzy and PI of tradition method.

  • This paper deals with the development of an IPMSM motor drive for NEVs. The drive system consists of 7kW IPMSM motor, DSP-based controller, and MOSFET-based inverter. The controller provides the same accelerator function as the conventional vehicle for an easy NEV drive.

  • This paper presents the implementation of two-arm modulation (TAM) technique for the independent control of a two-induction motor drive fed by a five-leg inverter (FLI). A carrier-based space vector pulse width modulation technique for TAM is proposed to generate switching signals for FLI. Two independent three-phase space vector modulators are utilized to control two motors. The motor drive system applies two separate indirect field-oriented control methods. The stationary voltage outputs from the vector control are synthesized in the three-phase space vector modulator to generate switching signals for FLI. The performance of the independent control of the motors and the voltage utilization factor are likewise analyzed. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method for the independent control of the two-motor drive system. The proposed technique is successfully validated by dSPACE DS1103 experimental work.

A New Approach for Constant DC Link Voltage in a Direct Drive Variable Speed Wind Energy Conversion System

  • Due to the high efficiency and compact mechanical structure, direct drive variable speed generators are used for power conversion in wind turbines. The wind energy conversion system (WECS) considered in this paper consists of a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG), uncontrolled rectifier, dc-dc boost converter controlled with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and adaptive hysteresis controlled voltage source inverter (VSI). For high utilization of the converter's power capability and stabilizing voltage and power flow, constant DC-link voltage is essential. Step and search MPPT algorithm which senses the rectified voltage ($V_{DC}$) alone and controls the same is used to effectively maximize the output power. The adaptive hysteresis band current control is characterized by fast dynamic response and constant switching frequency. With MPPT and adaptive hysteresis band current control in VSI, the DC link voltage is maintained constant under variable wind speeds and transient grid currents respectively.

  • An electrolytic capacitor is widely used in a motor drive system. Therefore, the deterioration diagnosis of an electrolytic capacitor is needed of preventive maintenance of the system. In this paper, we propose a new diagnosis method for the electrolytic capacitor by using the system identification method, which presents the information about the capacitor's interna parameters in on-line operation an use fuzzy algorithm for the deterioration decision. We demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme by using computer simulation.

  • Although the upland field area of Korea is high as 44.8%, the platform optimized for the upland field is insufficient. It is necessary to develop an optimized platform for the upland field because the upland field environment is an irregular environment with many slopes. In addition, due to the characteristic of agricultural operations, the traction power and torque of the platform have to be sufficient. Therefore, in this study, a simulation model that can predict the traction power and driving torque of a crawler-type platform for the upland field was developed and validated using the specifications of the crawler platform. The simulation model was developed using Amesim (19.1, Siemens, Germany). The development of the model was conducted using the specifications of the platform. A measurement system was developed to validate the simulation model. The traction power data of the simulation model was validated with the traction force and vehicle speed. The driving torque data of the simulation model was validated with the torque of the sprocket on the crawler system. As a result of the analysis, the error between measurement and simulation results occurred within 10%, and it was determined that the traction power and driving torque prediction of the crawler platform using this model was possible.

Development of Hybrid Electric Compressor Motor Drive System for Hybrid Electrical Vehicles

  • This paper presents a design optimization process for interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSM) for hybrid electric compressors (HEC) which are applied to hybrid electrical vehicles. A hybrid electric compressor is composed of an electric motor driving section and an engine driving section which is connected to the engine by a pulley belt. A hybrid electric compressor driving motor requires half of the full driving power of a compressor. Even though an engine is not operated at the idling stop mode, the electric motor drives the air-conditioner compressor by itself so that the air conditioning system can produce its minimum cooling capacity. In this paper, the design optimization of an IPMSM for a 42 (V) applied voltage system is studied using the design of experiment (DOE) and response surface method (RSM) of 6sigma. The driving characteristics of this motor drive system are measured and analyzed by experiment.

  • This paper describes development of PMSG wind power system model using wind turbine simulator and matrix converter. The wind turbine simulator, which consists of an induction motor with vector drive, calculates the output torque of a specific wind turbine using simulation software and sends the torque signal to the vector drive after scaling down the calculated value. The operational feasibility of interconnected PMSG system with matrix converter was verified by computer simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC software. The simulation results confirm that matrix converter can be effectively applied for the PMSG system.

  • 이동통신 시스템의 OFDMA 방식은 신호에 대한 PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio) 값의 증가를 가져왔다. 이동통신 시스템 전력 소모의 대부분을 차지하는 전력 증폭기에 대한 효율 개선은 매우 중요한 핵심 기술이다. 전력 증폭기의 선형 특성 개선을 위해 디지털전치왜곡 기술을 사용하였으며, 전력 증폭기의 효율 개선을 위해 비대칭 도허티(Asymmetric Doherty) 방식을 사용하였다. 본 논문에서는 기존 비대칭 도허티 구조와 다른 새로운 구조의 비대칭 도허티 구조를 제안하였다. 제안하는 새로운 구조의 비대칭 도허티 방식에서는 전력 증폭기 구동단을 주경로와 첨두경로로 분리하였으며, 위상 변환기를 이용하여 도허티 증폭기의 전력 결합 특성을 개선하였다. 또한 구동단 첨두 증폭기 gate bais에 대한 포락선 추적 기술을 적용하여 효율을 개선하였다.

DC-link전류정보를 기반으로 한 새로운 SRM 구동시스템 (Novel SRM Drive System Based on the DC-link Current Information)

  • This paper newly proposes the SRM drive system based on DC-link current information, from which the phase currents can be estimated in accuracy and also they can be used in driving SRM instead of the phase currents. Comparing to the general drive system based on the phase current information, it is verified through the simulation(which are peformed by RMxprt and Simplorer) that the proposed SRM drive system has the good performance in dynamic and steady-state responses of the speed control. Using the DC-link current information, all of the multi-phase currents can be easily estimated in driving the SRM.
