항콕시듐제제가 콕시듐 백신에 미치는 영향 (The effect of anticoccidial drugs for coccidial vaccines)

  • Avian coccidiosis is a very important disease of poultry industry. In recent years, many researchers studied for the immunology of avian coccidiosis. Coccidial vaccines have been used at some poultry farms in many countries. In order to evaluate the anticoccidial effects of coccidial vaccine to chicken treated with anticoccidial drugs, 4 week-old chicken were administered anticoccidial drugs and challenged with avian coccidia at 2 weeks after vaccination of coccidia. The body weight gains, lesion scores, oocyst indices and anticoccidial indices of chicken were investigated at the time of vaccination, challenge and necropsy. The body weight gains and feed conversion rates of groups immunized with coccidial vaccine and treated with anticoccidial drugs were moderately higher and lower than those of groups treated with anticoccidial drugs, respectively. The lesion score and oocyst indices of all groups immunized with coccidial vaccine and/or treated with anticoccidial drugs were milder than those of infected control groups. The anticoccidial indices of groups immunized with coccidial vaccine and treated with anticoccidial drugs were moderately higher and lower than those of groups. treated with anticoccidial drugs. But all of the investigated items were not statistically significant.

  • 사료내 낮은 수준의 항생제 첨가는 가축의 성장능력을 향상시키는 목적으로 사용하고 있다. 그러나, 항생제 사용에 따른 내성균의 출현은 결과적으로 항생제 대체제 개발을 촉진하는 계기가 되었다. 본 논문은 식물유래 정유성분의 항생제 대체제로서의 그 가능성을 알아보고자 실시하였다. 식물 정유의 항균 효과는 많이 보고되었으며 정유의 독성효과는 사료첨가량 수준에서는 미약한 것으로 사료된다. 또한, 정유급여는 가금의 혈중내 콜레스테롤을 감소시키며, 또한, 소화작용에도 관여하여 소화를 촉진시키는 것으로 보여진다. 결론적으로 사료내 정유의 첨가는 가금의 성장을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 식물유래 정유성분은 항생제의 대체제로서 이용될 수 있는 잠재성을 내포한 것으로 사료된다.

일부 육용 양계 농업인의 유기먼지와 암모니아 노출에 관한 연구 (A Studs on Exposure to Organic Dust and Ammonia in Poultry Confinement Buildings)

  • 본 연구대상의 작업특성을 조사한 결과 일년에 45회 정도 닭을 들여와 사육하였고, 양계업 종사년수는 최소 2년에서 최고 12년이었으며, 평균 종사 년수는 약 8년이었다. 닭을 사육하는 기간에는 일주일 내내 작업을 했고, 하루에 평균 6.3시간을 양계와 관련된 작업을 하며, 양계장 안에서 보내는 시간은 평균 3.3시간이었다. 14가지로 분류한 양계작업 중에서 닭의 입 출하와 분뇨처리는 외부인력과 함께 하거나, 외부인력에 맡기고 있었고, 이를 제외한 대부분의 일을 부부가 함께 하는 편이었다. 양계장의 사료 급여와 급수 시설은 자동시스템이었고, 환기창의 조절은 윈치커튼을 이용한 반자동 시스템이었다. 양계장의 환기는 겨울에는 강제환기를, 그 외 계절에는 자연환기 시스템을 사용하고 있었다. 계사의 바닥 재료는 왕겨를 사용하고 있었으며, 닭을 입하하기 전에 깔아서 출하한 다음에 제거하고 있었다. 양계장 내부애사 측정한 총 먼지와 호흡성 먼지의 지역시료 농도는 각각 평균 4.0mg/$m^3$(Range 3.16.8mg/$m^3$). 0.9mg/$m^3$(Range 0.41.8mg/$m^3$)였으며 호흡성 먼지의 개인노출량은 평균1.4mg/$m^3$(LOD미만 7.8mg/$m^3$)로 나타났다. 암모니아는 지역시료에서 평균 23.3ppm(Range 14.542.1ppm)이 측정되었고 개인노출량은 평균 22.2ppm(13.639.9ppm)으로 나타났다. 먼지의 지역시료 측정결과에서 총먼지에 대한 호흡성 먼지의 비율이 946%로 나타났고 호흡성 먼지 개인노출농도는 6개 농가 중 2개 농가의 개인노출량은 미국산업위생전문가협의회 (American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienist: ACGIH)의 노출기준치인3mg/$m^3$ 초과하였다(5.5mg/$m^3$, 7.8mg/$m^3$). 암모니아 개인노출농도 평균은 22.2ppm으로 ACGIH (시간가중)노출기준인 25ppm에 근접하였고, 34.2ppm, 39.9ppm 등 단시간노출기준(STEL) 35ppm과 비슷하거나 넘는 경우가 있어 매우 위험한 상황임을 알 수 있었다. 뿐만 아니라 양계장안에서 작업 중에 노출되는 먼지 또한 일반적인 호흡성먼지 보다 생물활성이 높은 유기먼지라는 점 등을 감안한다면 양계농업인의 건강영향은 매우 우려되는 바, 향후 의학적 검진이 병행되는 종합적인 조사가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

2014-2016 국내 발생 고병원성조류인플루엔자(HPAI)의 사회연결망(Social Network) 유형 분석 (Social Network Type Analysis of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza(HPAI) Outbreaks in South Korea, 2014-2016)

  • 국내의 HPAI 전파 요인으로는 철새, 농가의 축주, 축산 차량 등이 있으며, 특히 HPAI 발생 후 급속한 전파의 원인이 되는 원거리 전파는 축산차량에 의한 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구에서는 2014년 발생한 HPAI(H5N8)의 원거리 전파요인인 축산차량 이동정보를 지리정보시스템(GIS)과 연계하여 연구 대상지를 선정 후 차량의 농가 방문빈도 및 목적분석, 사회연결망 유형 분석을 수행하였으며, 도출된 유형을 통해 전국의 HPAI 발생농가의 분포 특성을 알아보았다. 또한 분석에서 도출된 결과를 통해 기존의 방역 및 살처분 범위 설정을 선행연구와의 차별화된 상황에 따라 유동적이며 탄력적인 차량 정보를 이용한 살처분 범위 설정을 제시하려 한다. 분석 결과 사회연결망 유형은 '지역 집중형, '지역 확산형, '광역 집중형, '광역 확산형, '전국 확산형의 5가지 유형이 도출 되었다. 도출된 유형은 다소 제한적인 유형 분석으로 볼 수 있으나, 전국의 타 발생 농가에 비추어 크게 벗어나지 않는 유형으로 설명될 수 있다. 또한, 위의 유형 분석은 추후 HPAI 방역 범위설정에 있어서 차량정보를 이용한 유동적 방역범위 설정 시, 담당자의 의사결정에 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.

재조합 가금 아데노바이러스 Fiber 2 단백질을 이용한 특이 난황 항체 생산 (Production of Specific Egg Yolk Antibodies in Chicken against Recombinant Fowl Adenovirus Fiber 2 Protein)

  • 본 연구는 가금에서 호흡기 질환, 심낭수종, 봉입체 간염, 산란저하증 등을 유발하는 가금 아데노바이러스의 fiber 2 유전자에 대한 특이 난황 항체를 개발하고자 실험을 실시하였다. Fiber 2 유전자를 클로닝한 뒤, 대장균 발현 시스템을 이용하여 약 22 kDa의 재조합 fiber 2 단백질을 생산하였다. 이를 산란계에 3주 간격으로 총 4회 면역하여 혈청 및 난황 내 항체가를 측정한 결과, 면역 후 12주경에 항체가가 최고치에 달하였으며, 산란계로부터 획득한 난황 항체를 이용한 Western blot analysis 결과, 가금 아데노바이러스 내 fiber 2 단백과 특이적으로 반응한다는 것을 규명하였다. 결론적으로, 가금 아데노바이러스 fiber 2에 특이적인 난황 항체 생산에 성공하였으며, 이러한 특이적인 난황 항체는 가금 아데노바이러스로 인한 질병의 예방 및 치료에 활용 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

PERFORMANCE OF SMALL SCALE LIVESTOCK/CROP DEMONSTRATION-CUM-TRAINING FARMS IN SRI LANKA

  • Three livestock/crop demonstration-cum-training farms have been established on plots of half, one and two acres, typical of the "Kandyan Forest Garden System" Vegetables, bananas, pepper, coffee, coconut and fruit trees are widely spaced, for intercropping with grass, and have been surrounded with live fences that also provide fodder for livestock to increase the family income. Each unit is operated by a selected employee and his family under a monthly incentive scheme based upon the gross margin. On these farms the technical parameters in dairying are better than elsewhere in the Mid-Country. Economic performance over 1985-1992 showed that dairying contributed most to the total gross margin of the half, one and two acre units, i.e. 31, 63 and 69%, respectively. Next came crops (29%, 37% and 19%), poultry (22%, 0% and 9%), and goats (18%, 0% and 3%). In the three farms the cash income per Sri Lankan Rupee spent was 1.5, 4.6 and 2.1, respectively. The overall ratio was 3.2 for dairying, 1.1 for poultry, 4.5 for goats and 9.9 for crops. Actual family labour in the three farms was 548, 548 and 639 days, compared to the 270, 330 and 440 days anticipated in the initial feasibility study. The average incentive payments, which were 20% (half acre), 61% (one acre) and 133% (two acres) of the parastatal salary of the employee, were only insufficient for the extra labour applied in the half acre unit. Dairying and goats proved to be attractive cash earners with a domestic fuel were important benefits. Poultry did little to improve farm income.

산란계종의 잡잡강세리용에 관한 연구 (Study on Utilization of Heterosis in Layer Chicken)

  • This study was carried out to estimate combining abilitie or economic traits in layer chickens. The data used in this study were the record of 10 single crosses produced by half diallel cross of 5 lines of Single Comb White Leghorns, such as A, B, C, K and S lines. Total 720 progenies of the crosses were reared at the Poultry Breeding Farm, College of Agriculture, Seoul National University from Feb. 1979 to August, 1980. Combining abilities were estimated by Grilling's mathematical model for the traits; age the first egg, total egg number, egg weight and body weight. The results attained from the studies were summarized as follows; In estimate of combining ability, an age at first egg of BS cross was largely due to significiantly higher general combining ability (G. C. A.) effect of B and S strains than Cand K strains in G. C. A. effect, and to specific combining ability (S. C. A) effect of B and S-trains. AB and BS crosses showed the highest egg Production. AB cross performance was result from high G.C.A. effect of A ana B strains. BS cross performance was result from high G. C. A. effect of B and high S. C. A. effect of BS cross. Specific combining ability effect in egg. weight was not statiscally significiant, but S strain showed high G. C. A. effect. A and B strains in body weight showed significantly low C. C. A. effect. From the above results, BS cross in an age at first egg, AB and BS crosses in egg Production, S strain in egg weight and AB cross in body weight were superior to other strains or crosses.

Morphology, Morphometry, Growth Performance and Carcass Characteristics of Pekin, Nageswari and Their F1 Crossbred Ducks under Intensive Management

  • This study investigated the morphological features, growth, and meat yield performance of Pekin (P), Nageswari (N), and their reciprocal F1 crossbreds (P♂×N♀ and N♂×P♀). A total of 301-day-old ducklings were reared in four different pens up to 20 weeks of age under intensive management conditions. Feeding and management practices were similar for all individuals throughout the experimental period. The morphology and plumage pattern of F1 crossbreds were similar to those of indigenous Nageswari ducks because of the dominant inheritance of the extended Black allele (E locus). Genotype had significant differences (P<0.05) among the four genotypes in morphometric measurements, except wing and shank length. Growth performance was highly significant among the four genotypes (P<0.001) from one-day to 12 weeks of age. The average live weights of P, N, P♂×N♀ and N♂×P♀ crossbred genotypes at 12 weeks of age were 2038.35±29.74, 1542.44±33.61, 1851.85±28.59 and 1691.08±27.80 g, respectively. Meat yield parameters varied significantly (P<0.05) among the different genotypes for all studied traits, except for liver and gizzard weight. Moreover, no significant differences (P>0.05) were observed between P and P♂×N♀ crossbred for important meat yield traits such as hot carcass weight, dressing%, back half weight, drumstick with thigh weight and breast meat weight. Remarkably, the P♂×N♀ crossbreed possesses 50% native inheritance, which contributes to better adaptation in a hot-humid environment. Our results revealed that the P♂×N♀ genotype could be suitable for higher meat production with better adaptability in the agro-climatic conditions of Bangladesh.

축사표준설계도의 활용도를 높이기 위한 농가 운영 현황 및 축사표준설계도 인식 조사 (Investigation on the Farm Management and Livestock House Design Standard Perception to Enhance Usage of Livestock House Design Standard)

  • The meat consumption per person has continuously increased in recent years. However, the labor force in the domestic livestock industry has decreased due to the declining and ageing population. In order to increase productivity, the government have developed and distributed design standard of livestock houses. Presently, report showed that the adaptation rate of the developed livestock house design standard on the real farm was still low. Thus, this paper aimed to find ways to improve the utilization of the design standard through surveys. The survey was conducted on 650 farms across the country. Analysis of the result showed that in the poultry house, the unawareness of farmers to the design standard was found to be the biggest reason for not using the design standards. On the other hand, in the swine house, the previously built swine houses do not fit with the design standard. From these result, the following recommendations were suggested: 1) promotion and education are needed to enhance usage of design standard; 2) since it is impossible to make a design standard considering all the farm sites, it is important to consider the conditions of various farm site prior to enhancement of the design standard; 3) improvement factors such as reinforcing the ventilation design, reflecting animal welfare, preventing livestock diseases, and enhancing ICT devices can also be promoted.

우간다 양계부문 ODA 사업의 농가단위 경제성 평가 (Economic Evaluation of ODA Project - A Case of Poultry Farm in Uganda -)

  • As globalization, international cooperation has grown in importance. In accordance with this trend, Korea has been receiving high demands from international organizations about expanding the scale of Official Development Assistance(ODA) in line with its improved national status. In addition, in the economic aspect of Korea, the ODA project is expected to provide new growth opportunities in the mid- to long-term by promoting cooperation with developing countries. Uganda is an area with high strategic value due to good agricultural conditions and favorable geographical conditions. The poultry industry is a business that is generally carried out to the Ugandan, but due to economic problems such as initial investment cost, most of them have raised poultry on a small scale which is not enough for main income. This paper proposes the construction and operation plan of adapting to small poultry farms in the village-intensive type to sustainable income for residents in Uganda through ODA project in Korea's agricultural technology. The economic feasibility was analyzed from the long-term perspective when the initial construction cost was supported or not and the poultry species ratio was adjusted in terms of initial and operating costs. Economic analysis was performed using Net Present Value(NPV) method. As of after 10 years, when operating in the form of shifting kuroiler to layers, it was estimated to earn about 700,000 ugx more than when only kuroiler is raised, and it is able to reduce about 14 million ugx from the initial cost than when only raising layers. As of 20 years, the most profitables scenario was the breeding of 100 kuroilers and 400 layers methods. however, this case was anlayzed to be unsuitable for Uganda farmers, with initial costs more than three times higher than the shifting method of the kuroiler to layers. If the initial construction cost is supported by ODA project, the initial investment cost can be recovered in the first year with the shifting method, whereas raising only layers take two years to recoup the cost. In the meantime, when studying livestock industry in Uganda, it was examined by relying on statistical data, but this paper is meaningful in that it predicted how much it is economically effective based on field experience.
