동해안 울진해역 원통형 고둥 통발의 재질별 어획 성능 (Catching efficiency of the whelk pot in accordance with the pot materials in the Uljin waters, East sea)

  • Fishing pots are one of the important fishing gears in our coastal and offshore fisheries. In terms of a sustainable use of marine resources, there are concerns about the ghost fishing by lost pots. It is reported that 10 to 70% of the pots are abandoned or lost annually. This study is to compare the catching efficiency of drum type whelk pots that are made of biodegradable nets to those made of the ordinary nets, in the eastern coast of Korea. Five types of drum pots were used with combination of biodegradable nets and ordinary (PA, PE) nets applied to the main and funnel parts of the pots: pots with biodegradable nets (Bio+Bio); pots with PE net (PE+PE); pots with body and funnel made of biodegradable nets and PE nets respectively (Bio+PE); pots with body and funnel made of PE nets and PA nets respectively (PE+PA); pots with body and funnel made of PE nets and biodegradable net respectively (PE+Bio). Field experiments were conducted from June $18^{th}$, 2015 to August $7^{th}$, 2015 using a commercial fishing vessel in the Uljin waters on the eastern coast of Korea. Two fleets of pots with one hundred in each, 20 pots of each type, were casted for 8 to 15 days to analyze their catching efficiency. The catch of target species, whelks, was 202,563.0 g with catch rate of 38.7% of the total catch, while the bycatch was 320,709.7 g with the rate of 61.3% of the total catch. The catch of whelks was the highest in the Bio+PE pots (46,020.3 g), followed by the Bio+Bio pots (42,027.5 g), the PE+Bio pots (41,849.9 g) and the lowest being PE+PE pots (38,054.2 g). Compared to the conventional pots, the pots with biodegradable nets on the body or entrance part had slightly higher catch rate for both the target species and the bycatch. The PE+PE had the lowest catch rate. There is no significant difference in catch between the pots with biodegradable nets and the ordinary nets for the target species such as Buccinum opisthoplectum, Neptunea eulimata, Buccinum striatissimum. Consequently, using biodegradable nets for the conventional whelk pots can reduce ghost fishing by lost gears while keeping the performance of the pots.

  • 본 실험에서는 민꽃게 대상의 그물통발들을 붕장어에 그대로 적용하여 수조실험을 행한 결과, 붕장어의 대통발 행동에 관한 다음의 몇 가지 특성을 얻었다. 1) 붕장어의 통발접촉수는 통발 투하후 급격히 증가하여 주로 30분 이내에 최대치를 보였다가 차차 감소하였고, 입롱도 통발 투하후 30분 이내에 주로 일어났으며, 입롱이 일어나면 접촉수가 증가하는 경향이 보였고, 입롱이 빨리 일어날수록 최대접촉수도 빨리 나타났다. 또한 이들 결과는 전보의 대통발$\cdot$플라스틱통발에 대한 조사결과와 거의 일치하였다. 2) 통발에 접촉한 붕장어는 미끼냄새가 나는 곳을 향하여 주로 통발의 하부를 파고 들었으며, 통발과 수조바닥사이를 파고들어 미끼를 구 할려는 것도 전체 접촉수의 $10\~35\%$나 되었다. 3) 붕장어의 입롱과 출롱은 입구가 하부에 난 통발일수록 쉬웠다. 4) 통발의 평면형상이 원형인 것은 통발내외에서 붕장어가 입구 또는 출구에 도달하는 기회는 많았으나 그것을 지나쳐버리는 일이 많았고, 사각형인 것은 입구 또는 출구에 도달하는 기회는 적었으나 그곳에 도달하면 쉽게 입롱 또는 출롱 하였다. 5) 붕장어의 완전한 입롱은 꼬리의 입구통과로 결정되었고, 입롱시도후 도피한 개체수는 입구로부터 미끼까지의 거리가 짧은 통발에서 많았다. 6) 입구끝이 통발내로 휘어져 들어간 것은 입롱한 붕장어의 출구발견을 어렵게 하였고, 통발천의 하부에 구석이 만들어진 경우는 통발내의 붕장어가 그곳을 계속적으로 쪼으면서 정체되는 행동을 보였다. 7) 입구끝에 혀그물이 부착되어 있으면 입롱시도후 도피한 개체수가 많아지고 입롱도 나빠지나, 일단 입롱한 것은 전혀 출롱치 못하였다.

생분해문어단지의 제작과 Polyethylene (PE) 문어단지와의 어획 비교 (Development of the biodegradable octopus pot and its catch ability comparison with a Polyethylene (PE) pot)

  • Biodegradable octopus pot was developed to reduce plastic pollution problem in the sea and fishing trouble between fishermen. It can be expect to recycle other wasted biodegrade fishing gear. Experimental fishing was carried out to understand the difference in fishing efficiency between Polyethylene (PE) octopus pots and biodegradable (Polybutylene Succinate and Polybutylene adipate-co-terephthalate) octopus pots which was tried to make in this study in the sea. There were caught by 237 numbers of fishing during the experimental period. Among the 237 numbers of fishing, 160 or 67.5% were PE pots which were more than the biodegradable pots. A comparison of the monthly catches between the PE pots and biodegradable pots shows that the catches were overall higher in the PE pots than in the other pots. The result is very similar with the comparison of total catches by each type of the pots. In terms of bycatch, the number of species, amount of catches and the number of fishing with bycatch were more significant in the biodegradable pots than in the PE pots.

  • 실험실에서는 민꽃게 대상으르 생각될 수 있는 그 물통발을 4가지 형태로 제작하고, 이를 통발에 대한 민꽃게의 행동을 수조실험을 통해 조사하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) 민꽃게의 색이행동은 시각과 후각에 의하며, 입롱시 매우 강한 경계행동을 보였다. 2) 민꽃게의 통발접촉수는 통발투하후 점차 증가하여 주로 30분 이내에 최대치를 보였다가 차차 감소하였다. 3) 민꽃게의 입롱은 통발 투하후 30분 이내에 주로 일어났고, 입롱이 빨리 일어날수록 최대접촉수도 빨리 나타났다. 4) 통발에 접촉한 민꽃게가 입구쪽으로 유도되는 것은 평면형상이 원형인 통발에서 쉬웠고, 입구부근에서 입구속으로 유도되는 것은 입롱과 출롱은 근본적으로 입구가 하부에 난 통발에서 쉬웠다. 5) 입구 끝이 통발내로 휘어저 들어간 것은 민꽃게의 출롱방지에 효과가 있었다. 6) 입구끝에 혀그물이 있으면 민꽃게의 입롱이 심하게 방해되나, 출롱은 전혀 보이지 않았다.

수동 소자를 이용한 ADSL POTS Splitter의 체계적인 설계 (A Systematical Design of ADSL POTS Splitter Using Passive Devices)

  • ADSL POTS splitter를 설계하기 위한 체계적인 합성 과정을 제안하였다. 이들은 single-ended 인덕터, 균형 인덕터, 그리고 균형 밀결합 변압기 형태의 저역-통과 여파기로 구성된다. 이 3개의 저역-통과 여파기를 시뮬레이션한 결과, 주파수 특성이 일치함을 보여준다. ADSL 시스템에 적용하기 위해, 상업용 균형 밀결합 변압기를 이용하여 POTS splitter를 설계하였다. 그것을 실험한 결과, ADSL 시스템에서 POTS splitter가 0.2 kHz에서 3.4kHz까지의 주파수 범위에서(또는 음성 대역 주파수에서) $\pm$0.5dB보다 작은 리플 데시벨과 0.6 kHz에서 3.2kHz까지의 주파수 범위에서 130 $\mu\textrm{s}$보다 작은 지연 왜곡을 가진다는 것을 알았다.

  • 장어통발의 P.P깔때기 살과 대나무 깔때기 살의 탄성을 측정하고 측면 구멍을 막은 통발과 원형의 유수저항, 침강시간 및 미끼의 냄새확산 등을 관찰한 다음 해상어획 시험을 행한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. P.P 깔때기 살의 탄성은 대나무 살보다 훨씬 작고, 하중이 증가할수록 탄성회복도는 감소하였다. 2. 플라스틱 장어통발의 유수저항 R(kg)는 유속 V(m/sec)에 따라 다음 관계식으로 나타낼 수 있다. R=0.36V 상(2.01) 3. 장어통발의 침강시간은 측면 구멍을 막은 경우 수면상에서의 완전 침수까지 1~2초 정도 원형보다 지연되나 그 후의 침강속도는 거의 차이가 없었다. 4. 통발 내의 미끼 수용액은 측면 구멍을 많이 막을수록 원형보다 입구쪽으로 집중되어 확산되었다. 5. 측면 구멍을 일부 막은 통발과 원형을 가지고 어획시험을 한 결과 통발당 평균 어획미수나 평균어획량의 어획성능에 있어서 뻘로 된 어장에서는 차이가 없는 것 같다.

기립빈맥증후군 환자의 임상적 및 자율신경 특성 (Clinical and autonomic characteristics in patients with postural tachycardia syndrome)

  • Postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is common, although not so well-known variant of cardiovascular autonomic disorder characterized by an excessive heart rate increase on standing. POTS is probably underdiagnosed due to the heterogeneity in both presentation and etiology. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical and autonomic features in patients with POTS. We reviewed the medical records of patients with POTS. Medical records include onset age, sex, presenting symptoms, body mass index (BMI) and prognosis. All patients had an autonomic function and laboratory tests. Ninety-nine patients met the inclusion criteria for POTS (51.5% male; mean±SD age, 20.0±9.7 years; mean±SD, BMI 21.9±3.9). Common presenting symptoms were a brief loss of consciousness, dizziness, blurred vision and headache. Autonomic function tests showed abnormal quantitative sudomotor axon reflex testing in 20 patients of 99 POTS patients. The abnormal post-ganglionic sympathetic sudomotor function is generally considered to reflect a neuropathic form of POTS. In treatments, 83 patients were treated by non-pharmacological management including lifestyle changes and 16 patients required the initiation of pharmacological therapies. Most patients with POTS showed a relatively favorable prognosis. POTS is a chronic disease with a substantial subset of patients recovering within a few years after the initial presentation. Future efforts should focus on better understanding of POTS pathophysiology and designing randomized controlled trials for the selection of more effective therapy.

남해 동부 해역에 있어서 해양 오물의 분포에 관한 연구 -폐기된 통발어구를 중심으로- (A Study on the Distribution of Marine Litters in the Eastern Part Area of the Southern Sea -mainly on Discarded Pots-)

  • The survey of the marine litter which has sunk and accumulated on the sea-bed was conducted over a 3-years period from 1996 to 1998 in eastern part area of the Southern sea. The obtained results are as follows :There are many pots as many as to be occupies 655 of collected marine litters. The distribution of pots in area A is much more than that of pots in area B, and the near Hongdo island has the most pots compared with other areas. The density of pots is the highest when the depth is 61~70 meters.

기립성 못견딤증: 기립성 빈맥 증후군 (Orthostatic Intolerance: Postural Tachycardia Syndrome)

  • Orthostatic intolerance is defined as the development of various symptoms during standing that are relieved by recumbency. Postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is another nomenclature of orthostatic intolerance. POTS characterized by a heart rate increase ${\geq}30$ bpm from supine to standing or >120 bpm at standing without orthostatic hypotension. POTS is a heterogenous in presentation with various pathophysiologic mechanisms. Important mechanisms are hypovolemia, denervation, hyperadrenergic and deconditioning state. There are presented as lightheadness or dizziness, palpitations, presyncope, sense of weakness, tremulousness, shortness of breath. POTS are classified under 3 groups that are neuropathic, hyperadrenergic, and deconditioning POTS. Most patients can be improved from a pathophysiologically based regimen of management.

제지슬러지 육묘 트레이를 이용한 식물 생육효과 분석 (Analysis of Plant Growth Effects Using Seedling Pots Made from Paper Mill Sludges)

  • This study was carried out to explore the availability of seedling pots made from paper mill sludge using red pepper species called Nokkwang. The seedling pots were made by several conditions such as different mixing ratios between sludge and old newspaper (ONP), sterilizing treatment and latex coating. After 30 day cultivation in a green house, the growth condition of the red peppers was evaluated by comparison with those raised in the plastics seedling pots. The red peppers in the plastics pot showed a better growth than those in the sludge pots. Sterilizing treatment, latex coating and different mixing ratios between paper sludges and ONP did rarely affect a growth rate of the plant and the contents of inorganic elements. However, latex coating contributed to protection of physical structure of the sludge pots in spite of constant water feeding. Even though some inorganic elements from the sludge pots migrated into the bed soils, electronic conductivity of the bed soils was within the proper range for the plant growth. Finally it was confirmed that the seedling pots made from paper mill sludges could be used to cultivate horticultural plants as the alternative to the plastics pots.
