Pongamia (Pongamia pinnata L.) as a source of non-edible oil, is potential tree species for biodiesel production. For several reasons, both technical and economical, the potential of P. pinnata is far from being realized. The exploitation of genetic diversity for crop improvement has been the major driving force for the exploration and ex situ/in situ conservation of plant genetic resources. However, P. pinnata improvement for high oil and seed production is not achieved because of unsystematic way of tree improvement. Performance of P. pinnata planted by Karnataka Forest Department was assessed based on yield potential by collecting 157 clones out of 264 clones established by Karnataka Forest Department research wing under different research circles/ranges. It was evident that the all the seed and pod traits were significantly different. Further, selection of superior germplasm based on oil and pod/seed parameters was achieved by application of Mahalanobis statistics and Tocher's technique. On the basis of D2 values for all possible 253 pairs of populations the 157 genotypes were grouped into 28 clusters. The clustering pattern showed that geographical diversity is not necessarily related to genetic diversity. Cluster means indicated a wide range of variation for all the pod and seed traits. The best cluster having total oil content of more than 34.9% with 100 seed weight of above 125 g viz. Cluster I, II, III, IX, XV, XIX, XXI, XXIII, XXVI and XXVII were selected for clonal propagation.
Doxorubicin is a highly-valuable anthracycline-family polyketide drug with a very potent anticancer activity, typically produced by a Gram-positive soil bacterium called Streptomyces peucetius. Thanks to the recent development of Streptomyces genomics-based technologies, the random mutagenesis approach for Streptomyces strain improvement has been switched toward the genomics-based technologies including the application of DNA microarray systems. In order to identify and characterize the genomics-driven potential target genes critical for doxorubincin overproduction, three different types of doxorubicin overproducing strains, a dnrI(doxorubicin-specific positive regulatory gene)-overexpressor, a doxA (gene involved in the conversion from daunorubicin to doxorubicin)-overexpressor, and a recursively-mutated industrial strain, were generated and examined their genomic transcription profiles using Streptomyces DNA microarray systems. The DNA microarray results revealed several potential target genes in S. peucetius genome, whose expressions were significantly either up- or down-regulated comparing with the wild-type strain. A systematic understanding of doxorubicin overproduction at the genomic level presented in this research should lead us a rational design of molecular genetic strain improvement strategy.
Sensor networks play an important role in making the dream of ubiquitous computing a reality. With a variety of applications, sensor networks have the potential to influence everyone's life in the near future. However, there are a number of issues in deployment and exploitation of these networks that must be dealt with for sensor network applications to realize such potential. Localization of the sensor nodes, which is the subject of this paper, is one of the basic problems that must be solved for sensor networks to be effectively used. This paper proposes a probabilistic support vector machine (SVM)-based method to gain a fairly accurate localization of sensor nodes. As opposed to many existing methods, our method assumes almost no extra equipment on the sensor nodes. Our experiments demonstrate that the probabilistic SVM method (PSVM) provides a significant improvement over existing localization methods, particularly in sparse networks and rough environments. In addition, a post processing step for PSVM, called attractive/repulsive potential field localization, is proposed, which provides even more improvement on the accuracy of the sensor node locations.

The Agile methodology is a new trend in software development. Nowadays enterprises have been adopting the agile methodology in an effort to deal effectively with rapidly changing user requirements. In most cases, much improvement was accomplished in the software development. Some studies have mentioned that the motivation of software developers is a contributing factor on the improvement. However, it is not known yet what aspects of the agile methodology get them to be motivated. The aims of this study are the comparison between the traditional methodologies and agile methodology and look into potential motivation of software developer and their jobcharacteristics. For the empirical analyzing, research data were collected by 77 developers of 4 domestic IT companies. The analysis shows that there is significant differences on developer's potential motivation according to what kind of methodology is used. Agile developers to be more motivated than others methodologies developers. It also shows in detail that what kinds of job characteristics of developer are different among them depending on methodologies.
In this paper, we try to find success factor to satisfy Female Customer of a Family Restaurant We survey Female Customers Requirement and make a Questionnaire based on Female Customer by interview and internet Homepage. We find Potential customer satisfying factor by using Kano Analysis and Timko's CS coefficient and Potential Customer Satisfactionv improvement Index(PCSI) which is suggested by Leem represents how much a service feature can increase the degree of customer satisfaction when the service feature is fully fulfilled. We also discuss how to use this result, we hope our result to apply customer satisfying many fields not only Family Restaurant.

Hybrid electric vehicles(HEV) combined with more than one power sources have great potential to improve fuel economy and reduce pollutant emissions. The Integrated Starter Generator(ISG) HEV researched in this paper is a two energy sources vehicle, with a conventional internal combustion engine(ICE) and an energy storage system(batteries). In order to investigate the potential of diesel engine hybrid electric vehicles in fuel economy improvement and emissions reduction, a Dynamic Programming(DP) based supervisory controller is developed to allocate the power requirement between ICE and batteries with the objective of minimizing a weighted cost function over given drive cycles. A fuel-economy-only case and a fuel & emissions case can be achieved by changing specific weighting factors. The simulation results of the fuel-economy-only case show that there is a 45.1% fuel saving potential for this ISG HEV compared to a conventional transit bus. The test results present a 39.6% improvement in fuel economy which validates the simulation results. Compared to the fuel-economy-only case, the fuel & emissions case further reduces the pollutant emissions at a cost of 3.2% and 4.5% of fuel consumption with respect to the simulation and test result respectively.
This paper presents average method to detect Visual-Transient Evoked Potential from the human scalp electric potential measured by the ElectroEncephaloGram. To confirm the validity of average method, the average-process is performed with both stimulated and no-stimulated potentials respectively, and both results are compared. The specific waveform, which is visual-transient evoked potential, is produced only in the case of stimulated potential. It was found that a dc-drift, due to instrumentation errors and other noises, can produce significant changes in the evoked-potential waveform. This can be removed with a high-pass filter (cut-off frequency=0.5Hz).
