As a preliminary study of finding the relationship between the force at the grip and the success rate during putting stroke, the putting grip sensor system using FSR sensors was developed. The system consisted of the hardware which had the sensor part with 8 sensors per putting glove and data acquisition part as well as the software which had the real-time monitoring program and the offline post-processing program. After experiments with elite-golfer using this system, it is possible to suggest the proper force ranges at the grip during putting stroke.

Ubiquitos sensor network(USN) is a technology which is widely used in our life. This paper introduces an example of design and implementation for a system which is based on the USN technology and can provide an efficient management tool for a space that should be precisely controlled for a certain range of uniformity in temperature and humidity. This introduced system builds a wireless sensor network using a number of sensor modules that are equipped with temperature and humidity sensors, and collects temperature and humidity information in real-time while simultaneously providing a method for monitoring the status of temperature and humidity by the graphical user interface. Also, the system will give a warning signal if the monitored values are differ from the pre-specified values of temperature and humidity for each sensor module more than a certain amount of tolerance. This temperature and humidity logging and monitoring system can perform better management for the space easily and efficiently by automating the existing manual method for data collection and management. Furthermore, using the stored data, it can make possible to perform post-analysis on the problems caused by temperature and humidity and to obtain information for environmental enhancement for the space.

SITES(Site Information and Total Environmental Data Management System) has been developed for the purpose of systematically managing site characteristics and environmental data produced during the pre-operational, operational, and post-closure phases of a radioactive waste disposal facility. SITES is an integration system, which consists of 4 modules, to be available for maintenance of site characteristics data, for safety assessment, and for site/environment monitoring; site environmental data management module(SECURE), integrated safety assessment module(SAINT), site/environment monitoring module(SUDAL) and geological information module for geological data management(SITES-GIS). Each module has its database with the functions of browsing, storing, and reporting data and information. Data from SECURE and SUDAL are interconnected to be utilized as inputs to SAINT. SAINT has the functions that multi-user can access simultaneously via client-server system, and the safety assessment results can be managed with its embedded Quality Assurance feature. Comparison between assessment results and environmental monitoring data can be made and visualized in SUDAL and SITES-GIS. Also, SUDAL is designed that the periodic monitoring data and information could be opened to the public via internet homepage. SITES has applied to the Wolsong low- and intermediate-level radioactive waste disposal center in Korea, and is expected to enhance the function of site/environment monitoring in other nuclear-related facilities and also in industrial facilities handling hazardous materials.

The flying-disc game has started since 1940. It has been spreading rapidly in Korea since 2007, mainly in elementary schools. Additionally, as sports science has been developed, research on flying discs has been continued to build a monitoring system for technological improvement and efficiency. In this paper, we acquire information on the user's flying-disc using 9-axis motion sensor and GPS. Then we propose a method for wireless transmission using Bluetooth 5.0. Specifically, the HW platform was designed and implemented not only to monitor a real-time data but also to compare and analyze rotational speed, flight trajectory, and a count of disc rotation through post-processing.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose a system predicting whether an electricity distribution system is abnormal by analyzing the temperature of the deteriorated system. Traditional electricity distribution system abnormality diagnosis was mainly limited to post-inspection. This research presents a remote monitoring system for detecting thermal images of the deteriorated electricity distribution system efficiently hereby providing safe and efficient abnormal diagnosis to electricians. Methods: In this study, an object detection algorithm (YOLOv5) is performed using 16,866 thermal images of electricity distribution systems provided by KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corporation). Abnormality/Normality of the extracted system images from the algorithm are classified via the limit temperature. Each classification model, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, XGBOOST is performed to explore 463,053 temperature datasets. The process capability index is employed to indicate the quality of the electricity distribution system. Results: This research performs case study with transformers representing the electricity distribution systems. The case study shows the following states: accuracy 100%, precision 100%, recall 100%, F1-score 100%. Also the case study shows the process capability index of the transformers with the following states: steady state 99.47%, caution state 0.16%, and risk state 0.37%. Conclusion: The sum of caution and risk state is 0.53%, which is higher than the actual failure rate. Also most transformer abnormalities can be detected through this monitoring system.

Buildings, bridges, and dams are examples of civil infrastructure that play an important role in public life. These structures are prone to structural variations over time as a result of external forces that might disrupt the operation of the structures, cause structural integrity issues, and raise safety concerns for the occupants. Therefore, monitoring the state of a structure, also known as structural health monitoring (SHM), is essential. Owing to the emergence of the fourth industrial revolution, next-generation sensors, such as wireless sensors, UAVs, and video cameras, have recently been utilized to improve the quality and efficiency of building forensics. This study presents a method that uses a target-based system to estimate the dynamic displacement and its corresponding dynamic properties of structures using UAV-based video. A laboratory experiment was performed to verify the tracking technique using a shaking table to excite an SDOF specimen and comparing the results between a laser distance sensor, accelerometer, and fixed camera. Then a field test was conducted to validate the proposed framework. One target marker is placed on the specimen, and another marker is attached to the ground, which serves as a stationary reference to account for the undesired UAV movement. The results from the UAV and stationary camera displayed a root mean square (RMS) error of 2.02% for the displacement, and after post-processing the displacement data using an OMA method, the identified natural frequency and damping ratio showed significant accuracy and similarities. The findings illustrate the capabilities and reliabilities of the methodology using UAV to evaluate the dynamic properties of structures.
Since January 2009, Seoul Metro Government(SMG) is operating own Network RTK Systems connecting four(4) GNSS Reference Stations which are installed inside Seoul Metro City area. SMG is currently providing VRS data service via wireless internet for Network-RTK and RINEX data observed from GNSS Reference Stations. This paper will discuss utilization of data available from SMG Network-RTK System for various applications, and present the test results on practicalities of Virtual RINEX data. For the utilization of data available from SMG Network- RTK system, 1)NTRIP data delivery of GNSS realtime observables streaming and converting to RINEX at receiving side, 2) monitoring deformation of bulky structures using GNSS observation were discussed. In addition to those discussion, 3) broadcasting VRS correction data for job site via radio modem after acquiring such correction data on-line using NTRIP based GNSS Internet Radio from SMG Network-RTK System were introduced. For the test results on practicalities of Virtual RINEX data, 1) the post-processing results of the GNSS observation data on a certain point with GNSS Reference Station data have been compared to the post-processing results of Virtual RINEX data on the same point generated from SMG Network-RTK System, and 2) VRS RTK positioning results for a certain point and post-processing results of Virtual RINEX data for the point were compared. The results showed only a few mm difference, and the high possibility for using Virtual RINEX data for post-processing applications.

Typically, closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitoring is mainly used for post-processes (i.e. to provide evidence after an incident has occurred), but by using a streaming video feed, machine-based learning, and advanced image recognition techniques, current technology can be extended to respond to crimes or reports of missing persons in real time. The multi-CCTV cooperation technique developed in this study is a program model that delivers similarity information about a suspect (or moving object) extracted via CCTV at one location and sent to a monitoring agent to track the selected suspect or object when he, she, or it moves out of range to another CCTV camera. To improve the operating efficiency of local government CCTV control centers, we describe here the partial automation of a CCTV control system that currently relies upon monitoring by human agents. We envisage an integrated crime prevention service, which incorporates the cooperative CCTV network suggested in this study and that can easily be experienced by citizens in ways such as determining a precise individual location in real time and providing a crime prevention service linked to smartphones and/or crime prevention/safety information.

A system architecture design relying only on the experience of its designer varies in quality in line with the designer's personal experience and knowledge ability. Likewise, a wrong estimation of hardware capacity ends up in waste of resources. In practice, a range of post-hoc monitoring tools are in operation, without providing any method for estimating and reflecting the performance at an early stage of architecture design. Provided capacity requirement is estimated in advance with simulation at the stage of design, the system capacity ends up in waste of resources. In practice, a range of post-hoc monitoring tools are in operation, without providing any method for estimating and reflecting the performance at an early stage of architecture design. Provided capacity requirement is estimated in advance with simulation at the stage of design, the system performance requirement can be met with a minimal cost while the waste of resources can be reduced to a great extent. In this context, the present study develops a pilot simulation model for hardware architecture design and then verifies its validity in an experiment. If the error rate falls within a permissible range in the experiment, the simulation model may be considered to reflect well the characteristics of real-life information system architecture.
