Pluralistic and diverse values exist in the realm of post modernism society. In this context, one particular outlook does not have the same meaning across the whole society. The creation and sharing of a new meaning do not necessarily need the consent of every member of the society. There have been a few attempts to delve into the relationship between sociocultural phenomenon and fashion trends in the pluralistic cultures. However, there has been little research on the theoretical framework in order to analyze a pluralistic phenomenon itself. The purpose of this study is to provide the theoretical paradigms to analyze and interpret various pluralistic phenomena in postmodernism fashion. Theories developed by Gilles Deleuze have been utilized to analyze and interpret the duct tape fashion which is in vogue among the young generation in the USA. The analysis based on the paradigm of Gilles indicates that the duct tape fashion shows pluralistic features of as in the other postmodern cultural activities.

Italian Rationalism held a specific position in the Modern Movements of Architecture, due to the fact that Italian Rationalism could not totally escape from the classical tradition of Italy. Until the seventies, Italian Rationalism had been criticized for having made no contribution to the progressive aspects of the Modern Movements owing to the very keeping of tradition. After the seventies, however, there emerged a movement which tries to reinterprete the Modern Movements of Architecture in relation to tradition and under this new situation, Italian Rationalism is believed to have a historical possibility of unifying tradition with modernity. This study is to show how Italian Rationalism struggled with the issue of tradition, why Italian Rationalism was under-evaluated and which historic lesson we can learn from it in the contemporary days of the revivalistic Post-Modernism.

The goals and meanings of this papers are set up to analyse the trend of Design immerged in 21st century with studying Fusion culture which is related with Digital concept that is the most spot-lighted in 21st century and summarizing the effects of this tendency given to Design. We are experiencing Digital Revolution which leads us from Analog Society to Digital society. Also, this means that New Millenium starts with characteristics of [End of Century]. I focus on the concept of Fusion-design, in the view of Art-Nouveau and Post-Modernism which came over the end of 19th century and the beginning of 20th century. Furthermore, I define the Fusion-design of Digital era and find the way that design of 21st century develops.

The objectives of this study are to give a definition and to find out the background and the pursuits of Saenghwal Hanbok. Conclusions are described as follows : 1. Saenghwal Hanbok and Gaeryang Hanbok are used together at the same tome, but they are different the background and the pursuits. Gaeryang Hanbok was pursued practical aspects - activities, simplification, sanitation, courtesy, economy, and diversity. And then Saenghwal Hanbok was added the pursuits of Minjung's image, traditional image, modern esthetic. 2. The background of Saenghwal Hanbok is divided into two group. One is the Minjung Hanbok in University, and the other is the recreated Hanbok in mass fashion. The former was effected to youth culture, political quarrel of culture movement, anti-government group. The Latter was a tendency toward reviving the tradition. 3. The characters of Saenghwal Hanbok were a national tradition, a resistance. the image of poor Minjung, a revival of the tradition, and a diversity and negotiation of post-modernism.

Modern interior design is expanding diversely, with the rapid development of technology and change of era. The basic of interior space that is rapidly changing consists of floor, wall and ceiling, and these are formed by materials, materials for structure or finishing materials. In the modern interior space, materials are utilized to present an atmosphere that meets the trend of the dissolution of post-modernism and the trend of minimalism. Accordingly, in this study, designers who take serious view on the relation of space and material, and the relation focusing on completed works, in modern interior design were investigated. The interrelation of the representation of each material, organic space, minimal space, and the space of Oriental fusion style were investigated through the works of modern interior designers, such as Karim Rashid and Ettore Sottsass.

The study was conducted to investigate the aesthetic characteristics expressed on the Prada Sports Fashion which has been strongly affected to fashion trend of domestic sports wear since the mid of 1990th, and to contribute to make domestic sports brand be competitive. The qualitative method using the materials such as fashion magazines and journals, information from the domestic fashion research center and internet, relating fashion books and journals etc, was used for the study. The results were as follows: First, use of heterogeneous design factors or coexistence of the past and the present were expressed as post-modernism effect. Second, strong moderation through the mimalism which has been dominated world fashion since 1990th was expressed. Third, high function including technology has been expressed. These aesthetic characteristics will be helpful for us to prospect 21c sports fashion which will be activated increasingly according to well-being life style.

본 논문에서는 교복의 다양한 요소를 사회심리학적 이론에 적용하여 설명함으로써 교복에 대한 사회심리학적 의미를 연구하였다. 본 연구는: 1) 교복의 기능, 장점, 단점, 의미에 관한 기존 문헌자료를 조사하고, 2) 대표적인 다섯 가지 사회심리학 이론을 통하여 교복의 사회심리학적 의미를 조명하며, 3) 교복의 사회심리학적 측면에 관한 향후 연구방향과 과제를 도출하는 목적을 가진다. 교복의 사회심리학적 의미 연구에 사용된 이론은 conformity and uniformity, Post-modernism, role theory, symbolic interaction, 그리고 semiotics and informational processing 이었다. 상기한 다섯가지 이론을 바탕으로 도출한 향후 연구과제로는: 1) 교복 디자인 선택에 있어 학교의 가치기준과 목표 반영 정도, 2) 시대적, 조직적 변화에 대응하는 학생들의 교복변형 행동, 3) 교복도입 전후에 학생들의 역할 수행 변화와 학년에 따른 학생들의 교복행동 변화, 4) 교복 도입이 경제적으로 어려운 학생들의 의복박탈감과 자아존중감에 미치는 영향, 5) 관찰자에 따른 교복 의미 부여의 다양성 등이 제시되었다.

The purpose of this study is to pigeonhole theoretical notions of asymmetry and historical flow of asymmetry designed dresses, understand the trend of asymmetry design in modern fashion and find out its plastic character. The result of this study is as follows. The asymmetry is un-harmony artistic structure that unbalanced left and right in designing. The asymmetry fashion were seen that drapery dress of Egypt, Greece, Rome in ancient times and design by strong color contrast in heraldry and hose, accessory in the middle ages. In modern times, it was seen as complicated and mixed appearance by the influence of post-modernism. The asymmetry designs in modern fashion are shown varied styles by asymmetry of silhouette, detail, fabric, wearing method. The characters of these are a sense of de-construction, formative sense, and exaggeration The asymmetry design must be made by cutting, sewing, and high degree of technique through the latest skill and study.

This study explored the literature review for intending to make contemporary furniture expressed as postmodern aesthetics accessible to the broadest possible public, particularly through an examination and realization of art and everyday life, using qualitative analysis about the related literature as the principal methodology. The postmodern furniture aesthetics of communication expressed through double-coding, which was seen by Charles Jencks as the defining element of Post-Modernism, is characterized by the use of ideas from the traditions of craft. Hence, I dealt with pre-Modern furniture and Modern-furniture aesthetics as the background of postmodern furniture called New design furniture. As a result, contemporary furniture called New design furniture represented the use of ornament, craftsmanship, or beauty from the traditions of craft, which was a main source for communication value in postmodern furniture aesthetics.

재즈의 가장 중심적 인물인 마일즈 데이비스의 'Bitches Brew'는 일반적으로 70년대 이후 현대 음악의 뿌리로 언급된다. 즉, �� 음악과 재즈가 합쳐진 퓨전음악이 시작으로 보는 것인데, 이 연구에서는 단지 시대적 흐름에 따라 형성된 악기 편성과 연주 방식에 프리재즈의 영향이 더해지면서 탄생한 것으로 본다. 수많은 예술적 표현 가운데 새로움에 대한 갈망과 형식에 대한 반감은 문학에서도 포스트-모더니즘적 작품들로 나타나게 되는데, 그 표현 방식에서의 주제의식이 마일즈 데이비스의 'Bitches Brew'의 그것과 상당히 흡사하다. 존 바스의 주제의식과 마일즈 데이비스의 기존의 양식을 다르게 보는 시각을 비교, 분석하여 재즈의 포스트모더니즘을 유추하여 본다.
