Background: A considerable amount of research has shown that knowledge and appropriate awareness are essential for encouraging positive behaviors and promoting health. In Korea, the roles that behavioral changes play in the prevention of cancer have been an important issue since the introduction of the 10 codes for cancer prevention in 2006. Thus, the present study investigated the associations of tobacco-related knowledge with awareness and attitudes towards positive smoking-cessation behaviors. Methods: The present study analyzed data from the 2010 national questionnaire survey (n = 1,006). This study evaluated sociodemographic characteristics, smoking status, self-rated health status, health-related interests, and the accuracy of 12 tobacco-related statements to determine knowledge level and to investigate its impact on awareness and behaviors related to smoking. These parameters were examined and staged using the Precaution Adoption Process Model. Results: A higher level of tobacco-related knowledge was significantly associated with a positive attitude towards smoking cessation (5-8 correct answers: odds ratio [OR], 2.53; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.57-4.08; ${\geq}9$ correct answers: OR, 3.90; 95% CI, 2.22-6.82; reference: ${\leq}4$ correct answers). Interestingly, among current smokers, only those who correctly responded to ${\geq}9$ of 12 tobacco-related statements were significantly associated with a positive attitude towards smoking cessation. Conclusion: This study found that having a higher level of tobacco-related knowledge had a significant impact on positive attitudes towards smoking cessation. This suggests that there is a need to disseminate appropriate knowledge to the general population to encourage positive attitudes and promote healthful behaviors in terms of smoking.
To determine the effects of Banggihwanggi-tang(BGHGT) on obesity, the obesity-related factors[gastrin, calcitonin gene related peptide(CGRP), serotonin, ghrelin, obestatin, glucagon-like peptide-1(GLP-1), insulin, orexin, leptin] were investigated in the stomach, pancreas, brain of mice by immunohistochemical(IHC) methods for 4 weeks. The change of body weight was more reduced in BGHGT administered group than that of control group. The IHC density of the gastrin and CGRP positive cells on pylorus was higher in BGHGT administered group than that of control group. The number of ghrelin immunoreactive cells on stomach was lower in BGHGT administered group than that of control group. The IHC of GLP-1 positive cells did not observe in the stomach of BGHGT administered groups. The IHC density of GLP-1 in the pancreas was lower in BGHGT administered group than that of control group. The IHC density of insulin positive cells in the pancreas was lower in BGHGT administered group than that of control group. The IHC density of orexin positive neurons in the diencephalon was slightly higher in BGHGT administered group than that of control group. The IHC density of NPY and leptin positive neurons was slightly higher in BGHGT administered group than that of control group. The IHC density of serotonin positive neurons was higher in BGHGT administered group than that of control group. Therefore, we conclude that BGHGT activates appetite inhibitor through appetite related enteroendocrine cells and neuropeptides in stomach, pancreas and brain, and this activation may also be responsible for the inhibition of feeding behavior.

Meta-cognition is the knowledge and cognition of cognitive phenomena, including the control of ones own memory, comprehension, and thought processes. Meta-cognition is similar to self-awareness, which is the understanding of oneself, and affects people's attitudes and behaviors. This study demonstrated the mediating effect of meta-cognition between internal locus of control and self-efficacy. Internal locus of control refers to the steady faith that any outcome is related to one's own efforts. Self-efficacy is a collection of personal strong belief that one individual can achieve his or her own goals. In this study, if a person has a tendency to adopt an internal locus of control, meta-cognition is improved, and self-efficacy can in turn be increased if meta-cognition is improved. This study conducted an empirical analysis through questionnaires conducted on 260 university students. The results of the research demonstrated that there is a highly positive correlation between meta-cognition, control position, and self-efficacy. In addition, this study emphasized that positive meta-cognition with internal locus of control can lead to positive attitudes and behaviors, and positive results.
Objectives & Methods : This study was to investigate effect of low frequency electroacupuncture on NADPH-d positive neurons in the brain cortex of rat with adjuvant induced rheumatoid arthritis. Experimental groups were divided into 6 groups ; Normal, Control, $ST_{36}$, $SP_9$, $ST_{36}+SP_9$ and Non-Acupoint. Normal group, non-arthritic group, was injected normal saline, and the other groups were injected FCA. Each acupoint groups were treated by 2Hz electroacupuncture at each acupoints and NA group was treated by 2Hz electroacupuncture at non-acupoint. Each groups were evaluated by the number of NADPH-d positive neurons in primary somatosensory area(S1), secondary somatosensory area(S2), motor area and caudate putamen by using an image analyzer and a microscope. Results : 1. In S1, the number of NADPH-d positive neuron cells in the $ST_{36}$ group were significantly(p<0.05) increased compared with the control group. 2. In S2, the number of NADPH-d positive neuron cells in all electroacupuncture groups were not significantly changed compared with the control group. 3. In motor area, the number of NADPH-d positive neuron cells in $ST_{36}$ group, $SP_9$ group, NA group were significantly(p<0.05) increased compared with the control group. 4. In Caudate putamen, the number NADPH-d positive neuron cells in all electroacupuncture groups were significantly(p<0.05) decreased compared with the control group. Conclusions : Our result demonstrated that low frequency electroacupuncture on $ST_{36}$ & $SP_9$ normalized expression of NADPH-d positive neurons in the brain cortex of the rheumatoid arthritis model in rats.
This paper is concerned with the active vibration control of a grid structure equipped with piezoceramic sensors and actuators. The grid structure is a replica of the solar panel commonly mounted on satellites, which contains complex natural mode shapes. The multi input and multi output positive position feedback controller is considered as an active vibration controller for the grid structure. A new concept, the block-inverse technique, is proposed to cope with more modes than the number of actuators and sensors. This study also deals with the stability and the spillover effect associated with the application of the multi-input multi-output positive position feedback controller based on the block inverse technique. It was found that the theories developed in this study are capable of predicting the control system characteristics and its performance. The new multi-input multi-output positive position feedback controller was applied to the test structure using a digital signal processor and its efficacy was verified by experiments..

The purpose of this study was to reveal relationship between positive illusions and oral health promotion behaviors. Positive illusions was composed of positive self-perception, exaggerated sense of personal control, and unrealistic optimism. We thought these factors affect to the oral health behaviors. For this study, 307 collegians in Ulsan, Yangsan are participated in this study. The data was subjected to confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling with SPSS 18.0, AMOS 18.0. In conclusion, we obtained the next results. First, positive illusions has a statistically significant with oral health promotion in correlation analysis(p<0.05). Second, Structural equation modeling fit index was well fitted as $X^2$=100, df=112, P=0.893, RMR=0.021, GFI=0.969, AGFI=0.943. Only positive self-perception and exaggerated sense of control has a statistically significant(P<0.05). Third, the group of the highest positive illusions has a statistically significant in all factors(P<0.05), the other hand, the group of the lowest positive illusions has not statistically significant in all factors(P>0.05). So, as this results we concluded that the self-confident or activated persons were very well performed in oral health promotion behaviors.
This study deals with controlling the speed of Hydrostatic Transmission (HST) system throuth the control of pumping stroke of positive displacement pump using high-speed solenoid valve controlled by digital closed loop PWM method. The method which was done in this study is as follows: First, we modified original positive displacement pump and designed pumping stroke control system of HST by using the high-speed solenoid valve. Second, after experimenting static and dynamic characteristics on each signal flow, we identified system parameter of approximated model. Finally, to control the speed of HST, we controlled the angle of the swash plate of positive displacement pump by controlling the pressure in the control cylinder chamber. Test which was carried out in the laboratory shows that transient and steady state response could be improved by PID controller.
Objective: This study examined whether the effects of fathering on school children's effortful control would be moderated by fathers' and mothers' own effortful control. Methods: The sample included 371 fourth grade children (47% boys) and their parents. Father's positive and negative parenting behaviors, parents' own effortful control and children's effortful control were assessed. Data were analyzed using hierarchical multiple regression in SPSS 18.0. Results: Parents' effortful control appeared to moderate the effect of fathering on children's effortful control. More specifically, parents' high levels of effortful control increased the effects of positive fathering on children's effortful control. Conclusion: Findings indicated that parents' effortful control tended to increase the effects of positive fathering (and lower the effects of negative fathering). This supports the importance of parents' effortful control in the development of school children's effortful control.
