Based on the relationship between parental attitudes, human rights awareness, and self-esteem, this study examines the effects of parental attitudes that respect children's decision-making on human rights consciousness, targeting elementary school students (grades 4-6). The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the relationship between parental attitudes and human rights awareness is mediated. As a result of this study, it was found that there is a positive correlation in the relationship between parental attitude, human rights awareness, and self-esteem respecting children's decision-making. In addition, it was found that self-esteem mediates the relationship between parental attitude and human rights awareness that respects children's decision-making. Therefore, in this study, the relationship between parenting attitudes and human rights consciousness, which respects children's decision-making, is to be examined in detail through self-esteem. Through this, the role of parents who respect children's decision-making and participation is necessary for the basic rights of children, and it suggests the importance of the mediating role of self-esteem in raising human rights awareness.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relevance and different factors having an impact on sexual assertiveness and sex stereotypes for the attitude among nursing students toward homosexuality. A survey was conducted on 253 nursing students in D city using a self-report questionnaire. The data was collected from April 11 to April 20, 2019 and it was then analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlations and multiple regression using SPSS 22.0. The average of sexual assertiveness in the nursing students was $4.44{\pm}0.37$, and the average of sex stereotypes was $2.08{\pm}0.58$, and the average of attitude toward homosexuality was $2.75{\pm}0.37$. The attitude toward homosexuality according to the general characteristics differed among religions (F=13.32, p<.000), religious life (F=20.43, p<.000) and method of parenting (F=2.74, p<.044). There was a statistically significant negative correlation between sexual assertiveness and the attitude toward homosexuality (r=-0.13, p=.034). Also, there was a statistically significant positive correlation between sex stereotypes and the attitude toward homosexuality (r=0.24, p<.000). Religion, religious life and sex stereotypes were the influential factors. Models that included the variables explained 23.1% of the variance for the attitude toward homosexuality. Thus, it is necessary to create an interventional strategy related to nursing student' attitude towards homosexuality so as to develop a practical educational program for promoting healthy gender identity.

The survey was conducted from March 5, 2014 to July 02 on a juvenile male and female target group of 430 people subjects. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted using SPSS Win 18.0 with verification at the 5% significant level. The results of the study were as follows: First, the support of the father had a negative influence on violent behavior. Second, the support of both the father and mother, communication with the father and mother, and the mother's parenting attitude have a negative influence on suicidal thoughts. Third, the youth's violent behavior has a positive influence on the suicidal thoughts. This study provides essential data for making polices to resolve the youth crisis behaviors.
The severity of smartphone dependence among early adolescents, known as the most vulnerable group to smartphone addiction, is increasing. In this study, the factors affecting the smartphone dependence of early adolescents were analyzed by separating into elementary school and middle school students. For this purpose, the 1st data from Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey(2018) was used. The subjects of the study were 2,607 4th grade from elementary school and 2,590 1st grade from middle school. Factors that affect to smartphone dependence of both elementary and middle school students in common were gender, self-esteem, aggression, time spent with parents, and negative parenting attitude. On the other hand, region(city size), economic level, health status, school life satisfaction, and relationship with teachers were significant in the smartphone dependence of elementary school students, but not in middle school students. In middle school students, positive parenting attitudes were significant. Based on the results of the analysis, implications for policy establishment and social service provision were drawn to encourage the proper use of the by early youth.
The purpose of this study is to validate the Play Participation Attitude Scale for parents of preschoolers, which was developed by the Delphi survey. 447 parents of 9 daycare centers in Seoul and Incheon were recruited for this study and, finally, data from 339 parents were used to perform exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and reliability analysis. The results of the study are as follows. First, factor analyses revealed that the global fit of the sensitively play (7 items), responsively play (6 items), and delightfully play(7 items) three-factor model was good. Second, the internal consistency of the Play Participation Attitude Scale was good. Third, there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the current scale and the parents' playfulness scale, indicating concurrent validity. Finally, higher scores of the Play Participation Attitude Scale and its three factors significantly predicted lower scores of parenting stress and higher scores of the preschoolers' self-control ability. These findings revealed that this new measure to be both valid and reliable and specifically suggests what kind of attitude is appropriate for parents to adopt when participating in preschoolers' play.

Purpose: This study was conducted to generate a grounded substantive theory of the adaptation process of nurses who return to work after taking parental leave. Methods: Individual in-depth interviews with 13 participants were conducted between June and September 2014. Participants were interviewed 1~3 times; interviews were continued until the data became saturated. Data were analyzed using Strauss and Corbin's grounded theory method. Results: The core category of experience of the process of adaptation as a nurse who returned to work after parental leave was 'trying to regain one's previous position'. Participants used five interactional strategies: 'preparing in advance', 'initiating relationships with colleagues', 'keeping a positive attitude', 'understanding parenting helpers', 'Taking burden off one's mind'. Conclusion: The results of this study provide a theoretical basis for the adaptation process of nurses returning to work after taking parental leave. The importance of improving nurses' attitudes to their co-workers who take parental leave is highlighted along with the necessity of providing a family-friendly work environment. These results can be used to develop supportive policies and programs for nurses who return to their work after parental leave.
Purpose: The purposes of this study were to describe the relationship between depression and resilience and to identify variables associated with depression among children with nephrotic syndrome. Method: Data was collected from 45 children who were registered at one hospital in Seoul. The criteria for sample selection were 10 to 15 year-old children who were diagnosed at least 6 month prior. The instruments included a self-reported questionnaire on resilience by Kim, CDI by Beck, and MBRI by Kwak. Descriptive, Pearson correlation and multiple regression analyses were done. Result: The mean score of depression was 11.44 (range:0-54) and resilience was 97.47 (range:32-128). There were significant positive relationships between depression and age (r=0.302, p<.005) and academic achievement (r=-0.318, p<.005). In addition, negative relationships between depression and maternal attitude (r=-0.412, p<.001) and resilience (r=-0.649, p<.001) occurred. The results of multiple regression analysis showed that maternal behavior (${\beta}$=-0.421, p<.005) and resilience (${\beta}$=-0.639, p<.001) were related to depression. Conclusion: Children with higher resilience and with an affectionate mother were less depressed. Thus, it is important to identify strengths of children and help them to increase resilience and implement parenting and counseling programs for parents' of these children. Similar studies with children with other chronic illnesses are needed.
