Coordinates Tracking Algorithm Design (표적 좌표지향 알고리즘 설계)

  • This paper describes the design of a Coordinates Tracking algorithm for EOTS and its error analysis. EOTS stabilizes the image sensors such as FLIR, CCD TV camera, LRF/LD, and so on, tracks targets automatically, and provides navigation capability for vehicles. The Coordinates Tracking algorithm calculates the azimuth and the elevation angle of EOTS using the inertial navigation system and the attitude sensors of the vehicle, so that LOS designates the target coordinates which is generated by a Radar or an operator. In the error analysis in this paper, the unexpected behaviors of EOTS that is due to the time delay and deadbeat of the digital signals of the vehicle equipments are anticipated and the countermeasures are suggested. This algorithm is verified and the error analysis is confirmed through simulations. The application of this algorithm to EOTS will improve the operational capability by reducing the time which is required to find the target and support especially the flight in a night time flight and the poor weather condition.

  • A navigation system is one of the important components of an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). A GPS receiver collects data signals transmitted by (Earth orbiting) satellites. However, these data signals may contain many errors resulting misinformation and depending on one's position (environment), reception may be impossible. The proposed self-driven algorithm uses three low-cost GPS in order to minimize errors of existing inexpensive single GPS's driving algorithm. By using reliable final data, which is analyzed and combined from each of three GPS's received data signals, gathering a vehicle's steering performance information and its current pin-point position is improved even with error containing signals or from a place where signal gathering is impossible. The purpose of this thesis is to explain navigation system algorithm using multiple GPS and compass sensor and prove the algorithm through experiments.

  • Recently in the field of precision positioning device, the contact-free stages are gaining focuses with their outstanding performances by eliminating mechanical frictions. This paper presents the driving algorithm for contact-free linear stage based on switched reluctance principle. The proposed driving algorithm has a similar structure of that of switched reluctance motor but this study has its own originality in terms of reducing the normal farces and force ripple at the same time. The simulation and experiment are executed to verify the proposed algorithm.

  • A study for a lathe to machine workpiece with noncircular cross-section is presented. The noncircular cutting is accomplished by controlling radial tool position synchronized with revolution angle of the spindle according to the desired cross-sectional shape. A learning control algorithm is suggested for the tool positioning. The learning law of the algorithm is based on pole-zero cancellation, which guarantees the control stability. The control performances are analyzed and simulated on a numerical computer that the effectiveness of the control algorithm is convinced. The algorithm is tested on a conventional NC-lathe which shows some successful results.

  • Recently, the radio navigation method utilizing the GPS(Global Positioning System) satellite information is widely used as the method to measure the position of objects. As GPS applications become wider and fields based on various positioning information emerge, new methods for achieving higher accuracy are required. In the case of autonomous vehicles, the INS(Inertial Navigation System) using the IMU(Inertial Measurement Unit), and the DR(Dead Reckoning) algorithm using the in-vehicle sensor, are used for the purpose of preventing degradation of accuracy of the GPS and to measure the position in the shadow area. However, these positioning methods have many elements of problems due not only to the existence of various shaded areas such as building areas that are continually enlarged, tunnels, underground parking lots and but also to the limitations of accumulation-based location estimation methods that increase in error over time. In this paper, an efficient positioning method in a large underground parking space using Fingerprint method is proposed by placing the AP(Access Points) and directional antennas in the form of four anchors using WLAN, a popular means of wireless communication, for positioning the vehicle in the GPS shadow area. The proposed method is proved to be able to produce unchanged positioning results even in an environment where parked vehicles are moved as time passes.

  • Differential GPS (DGPS) is known as a positioning method using pseudo range correction (PRC) which is communicating between a refence receiver and moving receivers. In real world, a moving receiver loses communication with the reference receiver, resulting in loss of PRC real-time communication. In this paper, we assume that the transmission of the pseudo range correction isinterrupted in the middle of real-time positioning situations, in which calibration information is received in the DGPS method. Under the disconnected communication, we propose 'predict DGPS' that real-time virtual PRC model which is modeled by a machine learning algorithm with previously acquired PRC data from a reference receiver. To verify predict DGPS method, we compared and analyzed positioning solutions acquired from real PRC and the virtual PRC. In addition, we show that positioning using the DGPS prediction method on a real road can provide an improved positioning solution assuming a scenario in which PRC communication was cut off.

  • Currently, the establishment and management of civil defense shelters are under the initiative of the government and local governments to protect the lives of citizens. In the future, there is a need for efficient civil defense shelters operation through the expansion of general shelters, including designated dedicated shelters. Therefore, it is more efficient to consider the distribution of residents and the location of access to shelters, not the quantitative operation considering only the number of residents. This study uses genetic algorithms and Huff gravity model based on census output data, building data, and road network information to understand the distribution of inhabitants more precisely than existing administrative district data. In addition, the spatial- database was used for efficient data management and fast processing, and if this study is improved, it can be used as a basis for the selection and improvement of general shelters positioning for a wider area.

  • The longitudinal velocity is necessary for accurate vehicular positioning in urban environment. The pitch angle, which is a road slope, should be calculated to acquire the longitudinal velocity. However, it is impossible to consider very accurate pitch, when using a sensor and an algorithm. That's why process noise and positioning stimation error of IMU should be adjusted to the driving environment and fuse GPS, OBD data with ACF which consist of AKF, CF in this paper. Then, final pitch angle which is appropriate for driving environment is estimated by IMMKF in order to optimize the system model according to road slope models.

  • This paper describes a GPS signal generator that can generate multiple satellite signals in real time at the RF level. It realizes the verified software algorithm on a FPGA. The algorithm models orbits and environmental errors such as ionospheric and tropospheric multipath. The position of a simulated receiver is one of simulation parameters. The hardware which consists of a digital logic board and an analog board can generate 16 simulated satellites signals at the same time. The users can generate spoofing signals and jamming signals as well as satellite signals by using the windows-based control software. In addition, the software provides GIS-based simulation scenarios editing tools. We verified the generator by using commercial receivers. As an application, we configured generators as indoor positioning systems and tested them in a building. To improve the accuracy of indoor systems is our further study.

  • This paper describes a control system for positioning the real-time locations of the autonomous warfare vehicles and infantry, and for avoiding collisions between them. The control system utilizes the low-cost RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication) for positioning the locations of the wireless devices. The mathematical mean filtering processes are applied to the calculation of the RSS matrix to improve the performance for positioning the wireless devices in the multi-path propagation environment. A fuzzy rule is proposed to recover and replace the broken packets occurring in the wireless communication. The gradient and geometric triangulation algorithms are proposed to trace the real-time locations of wireless devices, based on the distances between them. The estimated location results of the geometric triangulation algorithm are compared with the results of the GPS and the gradient algorithm.
